I had the worst experience today at luxury nails. I have been there in the past and stop going because I felt as though they stopped doing a good job. However, I received a gift card for Christmas and decided to use it today on a dip manicure. I was very disappointed with the experience and the end result. It started with a guy who started to rush to take off my old no chip. He then immediately began to paint my nails for the dip. He was going so fast and I could tell the nails looked sloppy. He used so many coats, and did not clean around the nail that my nails are now so thick and has glue all around them, and underneath the nail. When it began time to file them he used the electric file to trim my cuticules and he made me bleed on 3 of my nails. I also asked him to file them a certain way which he could just not seem to do. While I was waiting for him to finish he started to do another persons nails! So I sat there and waited. He rubbed lotion on my forearm (which hurt more than it felt good) and told me to wash my hands. I went to wash my hands and when I came back he went back to the other customer. I ask if he was done and he said yes. So I walked up to the front and waiting 5 min to pay. When someone came to check me out I asked if there was something to take all the glue off my nails and she said no, it'll come off throughout the day. I paid with my gift card and left. I will not return, not even to use the rest of my gift card. I never write reviews, and I always try to make the best out of situations, but this was rediculous. read more

I have been coming here for years but after a few months I always find myself looking for somewhere else to try because they are so rude! If they are slow you are rushed to pick your color and they rush on the service just in case someone else comes in. I also have noticed during slow times they do not give up trying to get you to get the most expensive manicure/ pedicure. I don't mind a couple times trying to persuade me but 6 times before my feet have even made it in the water??? It sucks because there are a couple people that are the absolute best and take their time but the other staff just kills the experience for me. From the second I walked in with an appointment scheduled, I was sat down and the man started on one hand immediately and then handed me the nochip colors to sort through which was difficult to do with one hand. He didn't give me any time and then said he had a same time appointment and so moved me in the middle of doing my hands. Then the other guy who started on my nails was rough and made me bleed. I belong to an on-line Mom's group and many of them swear by this place. And I was very excited to try this place out. Too bad the hype wasn't worth it. The Good: The tools are sterilized and kept clean and the space is practically free of harsh aromas. The Spa chairs were comfy and they were able to seat my Mom and I next to each other even though we were just walk-ins. Friendly desk and nail staff. Complimentary bottled water or soda. Lots of colors and brands to choose from for regular polish or the no-chip/gel polishes. The Meh: Even though it's labeled a spa experience, the pedicure was pretty tame. The foot and leg massage needed more pressure and the hot stones were not hot enough. (I've had hot stone treatment before and this would have been barely passable at a spa). The No chip manicure is not even near the edges or cuticles of my nails and there are some spots on the nail where the paint is uneven as well. Not a very neat job. The No Way: This salon should have a policy about children and food. I am not a child-hater by any means; I have one of my own. But it's hard for children to to sit quietly for 90 minutes while their mom or caregiver gets a mani/pedi. They get bored. They get antsy. As witnessed during my visit as 2 little girls kept running back and forth to their mom as she got a pedi and then a mani. I would think it would be a safety hazard to have a child running around in a nail salon. it was very crowded and busy that day and I saw the girls jumping and dodging all over the place. They weren't quiet either. I know I wasn't the only one aggravated as I saw other ladies (who like anyone deserves a nice nail experience) roll their eyes as the children ran past them. The only children in a salon should be the ones getting services with their mom or caregiver. You know what I do when I don't have a sitter and want to go to a salon? I DONT go to the salon! And food? Come one, this is definitely a health violation. Letting a lady eat her subway sandwich, messily I might add, in the pedi area is just gross. I had to make sure I didn't step on her just-dropped lettuce when I left the pedicure area. I wish my experience could have been better. read more

I got my nail done here today and they did a horrible job. I didn't notice at first because I didn't have my glasses, but when I was done and looked at them I showed the manager. He asked kindly if I had time to redo everything. The moment I sat down till the moment I was done they were fighting non stop. I was so annoyed. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!! I rarely write reviews, but feel compelled due to the terrible treatment I received there today. The way I was treated and yelled at today was unimaginable. I was in fear for my safety. The female manager and a male employee started yelling at me when I asked how much longer I would have to wait. I had been waiting 1/2 hour (they said 20 minute wait). They had put me in a pedicure chair and left me there. A woman sat down to start my pedicure and got up to work on a customer who arrived after me with no explanation. After the manager yelled at me I told her she lost a customer & her response was "I don't care". Additionally the place smells terrible and the employees are rough, even rougher if you don't want to buy some of the "extras". This is the only nail place that I've been going to for the last 3 years. My sister and I would come in here every 2 weeks for a fill or a pedicure. This past Saturday was the last time I'll be going. Why? There's a male technician in there, who at first, I thought was just very friendly with everyone. But every time he did my nails, the conversation would start off friendly and turn inappropriate. He would make suggestive remarks or offensive, sexual innuendos. If I could give them a negative star I would. Bad business. And very unprofessional and uneducated salon owner. I have been going there for 2 years too long. My nail design was sadly very off. I asked for a faded look and it came out like a comet spilled over my nails. It was only 5 dollars, and If you have thin or brittle nails as I do, you don't want to take a no chip 2 days later because it will soften your Nails more especially when they scrape off the residue of what hasn't been removed for the acetone. I asked, when I come back can I get the same nail design just obviously corrected no charge (mind you it's only 5 dollars).. He said absolutely not, people lie to us and so on and so fourth. This scenario had nothing to do with lying. Then he continued with, there will be no damage to the nail if I do it now. For all of you that experienced no chip, their is always minimal damage, especially when your tech grinds my nails before applying a no chip. All I wanted is to get my design to be redone when I came back in for a manicure and no chip again in 2 weeks and he treated me very unprofessionally. Put some recliners in the back room so we don't have to look at your lazy employees, By the way they close at 8pm. You would think they could stay awake. They have been using acrylic on my nails and charging me for "gel". I got my first no-chip manicure about two weeks ago while I was on a cruise ship. I absolutely loved it and received a lot of compliments, but my nails had grown and it was time to have them redone. It had been a rough week at work and I needed to get out. I heard an appointment was not needed at Luxury Nails so I decided to check them out. It was about 7:40 on a Friday night and the sign on the door indicated they were open until 8:00. I walked in and it was extremely busy. I asked if they would be able to do a no-chip manicure. They said yes and had me sit at one of the tables. An employee came and sat at the other side of the table. There were no pleasantries exchanged - she went right to work and told me to pick a color. She also asked me if I wanted round or square. I have had a few manicures before and was never asked that question. By looking at my previous manicure, I would have thought she could tell what I liked, but I told her round. (I knew I did not want square.) I have naturally nice nails and with the prior no-chip I had received, I was very happy with how long they were getting. With one clip of the nail clipper that all changed. She cut my nails down the length they had just grown in the past too weeks. No questions, she just clipped. Then the "rounding" began. My nails now look unnaturally round. Had she left the length and rounded them, I think they would have been fine, but the "rounding" goes too far down my finger. Now it was time to my nails under the light, which is actually build into the table. Unfortunately, one of the people before me must have gotten fake nails because my hand got stuck on glue and then I had glue on the tip of my finger. I pulled my hand out and and showed her and she acted like I did something. After it was all over and done with, I left there with shorter, overly round nails, with some glue on the tip of my finger. She got most of the glue off, but I still needed to pick at it a bit. It is possible because I walked it late on a Friday night and it was very busy, that I did not get a good manicurist, but I don't plan on going back. My nails grow pretty quickly, so should be able to get them fixed in a couple weeks. read more

While I feel this place does great work, I only give them 1 star due to customer service. I had a pedicure done by Cindy and she did good work. However when I got home I realized she had spilt oil on my leather purse and leather boots. I tried multiple times to clean them that morning and when nothing worked, I called the store. After 10 minutes of trying to explain to the guy what happened and having him constantly tell me oil doesn't stain leather, just clean it, and going round and round with him that I had and letting him know that while they did good work the way he was handling would keep me from ever coming back, he simply said ok then. His technician was the one who placed my stuff where she did and their inability to try and help me fix the problem in any way, shape, or form was very disappointing. I have been here a handful of times, all were just mediocre experiences but I kept going back. My experience today was the worst. I had peeled a no-chip manicure off (bad, I know!), and my nails needed some serious filing and buffing. For my manicure I chose a very light pink Essie color, and now you can see the areas where my nails were peeled and not buffed enough. The polish is uneven and sticky looking and my nails keep getting caught on things because they weren't filed down smooth! Won't be giving this place another chance. read more

I went in to Luxury around 6pm on Tuesday night (Oct 19th) and an older woman did my acrylic fills. She did a TERRIBLE job - leaving gaps along the sides of my nails left unpolished, lumps on most nails, some nails long and some short, polish on the cuticles on some nails and not to the cuticles on some nails, etc.. During the fill process she rudely informed me that one can't have square shaped nails with round corners though I have had that shape for 25+ years. And, when paying, I learned that apparently, there is a $5 upcharge if you have gel polish on and don't want gel polish again. When I was charged $25 for a fill I asked about it and the woman snapped at me (again). The manager came over and asked what was happening and she said that "she (I) should know about the uncharge" uh what? And the manager did nothing to address the rude manner of his employee or remedy the situation. So, I paid $30 ($5 tip - I am a nice person) for a fill that needed to be redone as soon as it was "finished" there. And, I won't even start with the lack of cleanliness in the place. That woman should not be serving the public until her skills and attitude are greatly improved. And the "manager" - come on . . . managing is more than greeting people at the door and guiding them to a technician. Very poor experience! I won't be returning. I've been here a few times. First visits were fine but the last two visits I got the same nail tech and the same horrible service from her. I wish I knew her name. She is too rough on the pedicure, pushes services even after I decline, and today she wasn't paying attention and let another staff member grab my polish while I was in the bathroom. I was enjoying my relaxing pedicure and suddenly I was told to go back to the polish wall to re-grab my polish (which wasn't easy to find among the hundreds of polishes). No apology, nothing. She actually acted irritated with me as if it were my fault. I'm sorry, but I'm never going back here. I go here however, if you are looking to relax this definitely isn't the place. It's SUPER noisy and the techs speak to each other in Vietamese which is extremely annoying. They can speak english to their customers why not to each other? They never look you in the eyes simply treat you as a number. I go for pedicures at a salon in Oak Brook Mall instead. It's about five bucks more and it is relaxing and "classier"...the employees never chit chat with each other, is super quiet..i forget the name but it's on the second level near Nordstrom and every time I've gone I can get in right away. This is an average nail salon. They do good pedicures & are good for a basic no chip or acrylic set. But they've always hurt my nail beds and are not usually gentle enough with the drill. Plus they are extremely pushy & over priced. read more

I went to this nail spa for the first time. Right when I walked in the 2 ladies in the front were so rude! I did a pedi with my hubby. We asked for the regular pedi and they got upset when they kept asking us ti upgrade and we said no. Long story short they charged me $80. The regular pedi is $25 and my hubby only had the nail clipping and massage with the lotion and they removed my gel and i did a gel pedi by there is no way that it would have been an extra $30 in too of the $25 pedi to di gel! I know i was overcharged. I payed it and didn't leave a tip, the took enough of my money. Also, the lady that did my pedi was smacking my foot to out it back in the water instead of asking me to put it back in. Great service will definitely come back! Loved n I mean loved the deluxe pedi ($40) but definitely worth it Stacy was amazing. They have 3 different types of pedis basic $25 deluxe $40 and top one for $45 I went with the deluxe and it was good. as soon as you enter they greet you and make you feel welcomed and offer you drinks like water coke or diet coke and massage chairs were good. good place to go with a group of friends and have a girl's mini spa day. I love how the place looks. Yet there are a couple perks, the lady that did my pedicure was quite sloppy on the nail polish and got it on to my sandals. When she was pushing back my cuticle it was so painful, as a strong person i decided to hold it in instead of remarking. I might come back but not 100% sure... Today I decided to get a pedicure as my feet were beginning to look pretty gnarly, and I am off to the Lake this weekend for a much needed rest. Let me tell you, if you are in the area and want to be treated like you are royalty go for the 40 dollar pedi. The attention they give to every little toe and foot is amazing! The hot paraffin is sinful, the lotions are light and not too overpowering, but the best thing is each attendant (my tech was Anna) is caring and friendly. Am definitely going back in two weeks, and am bringing the honey with me...his feet are comparable to Bigfoot! read more
