recently visited Luxury Nails in Hanover, Maryland, and unfortunately, it turned out to be both my first and last visit. On Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, I went in to enjoy a relaxing pedicure before my upcoming cruise on Sunday. Sadly, the experience was far from what I had hoped. My appointment stretched over two hours, during which I was attended to by three different technicians. At one point, the second technician had to leave to assist another customer, which led to a frustrating 45-minute wait without any nail polish being applied. To make matters worse, I was simply left sitting there. The only thing I received during this delay was an extended chair massage, while I watched the woman next to me being tended to by the technician who had originally been assigned to me. I clearly communicated my desired nail color to Cody, the first technician, and reiterated my choice again to the second one. However, by the time the third technician arrived, I could no longer find the reference image I had initially provided due to the long wait. Consequently, I ended up with two coats of baby pink polish, which was nothing like what I had originally envisioned. The woman beside me, who my second technician began serving, actually received a full pedicure and waxing before they even thought to address my toes again. This occurred after I had already been in the salon for over 30 minutes, which left me feeling completely overlooked. It was clear to me they weren't accommodating walk-ins effectively. All I wanted was to get my feet polished. The overall experience felt disorganized and unprofessional. Furthermore, the pricing was confusing. I requested a standard pedicure without gel, but was told that would incur an extra charge. This is concerning, as it felt like unexpected fees were being pushed onto customers. On top of that, I didn't even receive the foot massage that is usually a part of the pedicure until I specifically asked for it from the third technician. This oversight truly took away from the relaxation I was hoping to achieve. I ultimately paid $38 and left a $10 tip, but I left feeling frustrated as the salon didn't offer any form of concession for the trouble I endured. To top it all off, when I got home, I discovered a cut on the side of my foot and realized that the callus removal had not even been completed. The owner Thomas and his wife arrived around 30 minutes before I was leaving. They attempted to appease me with excuses for the technicians' performance, attributing it to a breakdown in communication. Their absence during my appointment left me uneasy about their dedication to customer service. It's 2021 and we are dealing with sexist business! I called today I asked for a pedicure price. They clearly said $27 dollars. Hmm if they wanted to do a sexist business they should of asked man or woman from there? Instead of giving a misleading price. After soaking his feet and sitting in the chair for 15 + minutes. He was given a book to choose the different pedicures. He asked about the $27 price his fiance was quoted cause it was not listed. He was then told "$27 is the woman express pedicure price". Seriously a "woman express pedicure" price? Only for woman. Uhm? That "male price is $37". Some dudes don't even get color painted. You are basically doing less work. This is outrageous! He has to get his pedicure done. So he just did it this time. We are never coming to this sexist establishment. You dont quote someone the price and then change it cause of your gender. went to get my refill and what i got was a disaster. The first thing i told the lady eas that i didnt live in the area. My cuticles were not done, acrilic all over the edges, the missing nail you can see the line in between, when i approached the lady about it she got upset and said to sit down now to get them fixed when i had told her that i didnt have the time and also didnt had to tell her how to do her job in the first place. Spoke with the manager and he refused to get my money back because they were offering to get them fix the next day even though they were aware of me not living in the area. is sad im not able to post pictures so everyone can see the disaster i got done for $50.00 Dont recommend this place at all!!! read more

My nails were done beautifully but the price was misleading. I asked before receiving any service how much acrylic was and was told $30. Then once my nails were put on and cut the price jumped to $60 + the charge of cutting my cuticles+ tip i ended up paying $73. The reason for the extra charge was because my nails were really long but these nails are short. Make set prices instead of just springing a price on the customer. Other than that the experience was good. My nails look amazing and I would recommend coming here if you have money to throw away. Update: six days later and my nails are peeling/popping off. I had a manicure and pedicure and both were done pretty well. They did both at the same time (two different techs) which was a bit awkward. I had never had it done that way before so I didn't say anything, I just went ahead and tried it. It is a time saver but I wouldn't do it again. There are too many things happening at once which was challenging and overwhelming. For example, I had paraffin wax on my feet - when I went to leave I found a couple of blobs was still on my lower legs that I had to peal off. I missed it because I was distracted by my manicure happening at the same time. The leg and arm massages were inconsistent. One arm and one leg got great massages and the other arm and other leg got just a quick touch. The staff are friendly. The price is reasonable. read more

I've never had a French manicure before where the technician only paints the tips and does not paint a light pink on the nail bed. You should not be able to see my old acrylic through my nails, it should've been filled better. Pricing is not transparent. Over the phone, they will said your manicure is $20 but when you get there you'll find out there are 4 additional charges added on so your total is $38 for regular nail polish (not gel polish). Very disappointed in this salon. Updating because I just saw the business owner's reply and I'm shocked. You were there and are fully aware of the price jump I was pressured into, it's extremely saddening to see that you wrote my review wasn't true. I did not request any additional services to justify a price jump from $20 to $39 and yes another customer ended up paying for me because she saw the whole situation and felt bad. The pictures speak for themselves -- that is not a $39 manicure, it was very sloppy and rushed. She didn't even shape my nails back to their original coffin shape after she cut them. I wish you would've taken my review and improved your customer service and price transparency, but I see based on your response and other reviews, that's not the case. Let me start off by saying that this place is FABULOUS! I love a business that make you feel right at home. That's what l felt like while being pampered. I have never ever been to a nail shop that offer a cold refreshing drink or water while getting your pedicure. This place does that and beyond while all the time trying to make their customers happy. I had a spa pedicure and a gel mani. Dan did my nails and he was very friendly and his recommendations was so worth it. He told me l should just relax and enjoy the pedi and The massage so that's what I did. Now l know l need to have this done at least once a month but I was way overdue. Ewhhh we not even going to talk about how hard l made him work on these dog's of mine. My feet was a hot mess. I usually wear a lot of sneakers at work so these toes of mine rarely get out except for the weekends. I know that's no excuse for the lacking of service but I promise to do better.. I really felt like i was given extraordinary treatment. I definitely did not feel rushed. I loved both my gel mani and my pedicure and l definitely would return. The prices are little on the high side but that foot massage will make you forget anything and everything Including prices . Worst manicure experience ever. I went in to get the previous powder taken off and have my nails shaped and cuticles manicured. Diane spoke in her native language the entire time. I don't know who she was talking to, I thought maybe she was on the phone but no... she barely spoke to me at all. She cut my some of nails way too short and left my thumb nail jagged. My cuticles didn't get the care I expected and the residue/discoloration from the powder is awful. She didn't seem to care or respond when I expressed my disappointment. I left feeling so sad at the worsened condition of my nails. PS After living through the weekend with my abused nails, they are now all very weak and kept breaking because they are so thin now after she shaved/pulled off the powder w/o even using the acetone soak first. I am concerned they will take months to grow out and be healthy again. Had I not paid with a gift card I would cancel my credit card payment but am now left with terrible nail condition and will never go back there again. read more

I have visited this place a couple of times now. I really love that they open at 0800. This allows me to visit right after I drop my kids off to school. My pedicure was superb. The tech was very thorough in removing cuticle and dead skin, and she shape and polished my toenails perfectly. I've also had a manicure and gel polish services as well. Some techs are rougher on the hands than I'd prefer but you'll just have to figure out a good match for you. I think I've narrowed mine down. I also like: that all tech licenses are posted, each implement used is in a sealed autoclaved package which says sanitation is important here, and also that prices are clearly posted. The only negative happened during my last visit, I got a small cut from rough filing. In the future, I'll stick with the same nail tech. read more

I went in for a gel mani-pedi. I decided to do the deluxe pedicure and I thought I said deluxe manicure as well but apparently not. I was in here for 2 hrs! Although I was the only one in there. They took they're time The pedicure was excellent. 1 hr of pampering. Feet are nice and soft. The color didn't come out like I want but that's ok I chose it. The manicure was good but it was a regular manicure and I wanted a deluxe. And i didn't get a hand massage or any lotion. Maybe after spending so on my feet they forgot. I spent $45 for the deluxe pedi and $30 for the gel mani for a total of $75. Then I asked what would it be if I got the deluxe mani and pedi and they said $60+8 for gel. That's $68!! Less than what I spent and for more services. I don't like that trickery. I am not sure I will return. They also asked if I wanted eyebrows waxed even thought I just got them threaded today. They are clearly done. Smh. I don't like pushy people. Let your service sell its self. When I left I noticed that my pedi needed some nail Polish remover on some skin spots and same for my mani. I tipped $5 in cash and got the evil eye. So I said add $5 to that. They re-rang my card. Really $5 is not enough. I was okay with $10 tip since the pedi wa so long and good. $85 total!! Yikes. I went here with my mom for the first time and our experience was fantastic! I got the gel manicure, pedicure and hot stone massage! I wear boots for about 10 hours a day if not more and it felt great. As for my manicure, I am brutal on my hands. My cuticles are busted and I'm constantly chewing. I also can't wear colored polish on my fingernails ... BUT ... Much to my amazement this place has made my hands and nails so much better looking. The tech took her time on my toes and nails making sure each nail looked great. I didn't feel rushed or pressured, even though I was the last client of the night. Also, the lady was very good with the pedicure massage and applied a good amoount of pressure. I found their selection of gel nail colors to be quite extensive. Normally places bring out a small number of polish "wheels," this place had so many colors it took me a while to pick one. I noticed that they had a good deal of regular polishes too, not just the usual reds or traditional colors, but a wide variety of greens or floursecent colors. I will come back. read more

They are clean and cute salon. The technician I had was quick and efficient with the cut, clean, and buff of my toe nails/cuticles. They have a tv and magazines for passing the time and ample variety of colors for gel/polish/powder. I was quoted $27for a basic pedicure and I paid $27. Sometimes I get my nails done with girlfriends at their favorite salons. I was in need of a new mail salon and I read the reviews and I thought I would give this place a try last night.....so while taking my shower my index mail starting peeling first... So I went after work to get it fixed.....I get home and looked at my nail and noticed that the polish was raised.....and sure enough it was starting to peel again. So now I have to find another salon and pay more money so that I can have my polish changed. RUDE RUDE RUDE, today I was there with my children got 3 pedicures. They started being rude when I expressed that I didn't need manicures because we get them done somewhere else. We were due for pedicures and manicures (manicure appointments set for tomorrow, where we get them done) The woman doing my pedicure started being rude and talking rude in her language and the guy doing one of my daughters pedicure kept saying stop but he was laughing with her too. The sad thing is I recently moved close to this shop and have been going there for a few months. Enjoy the $5 Tip to split between the 3 of you.... now laugh at that..... As a business owner myself I typically tip very very well so I know they were surprised with me giving them that but what they need to understand is as someone who is well traveled I may not be fluent in their language but I could pick out enough words to understand enough. Had my children not been with me I would have made a whole scene. Y'all are disgusting, I will be calling and speaking to the owner as well... from one business owner to another she needs to teach her staff basic customer service. I'm not sure how to reply to the owners response directly so I'll update my review to respond. Diane now that I see your face per your picture beside your response YOU WERE THERE. You're the one who I paid. When I handed you the money you said "who do you nails" and started laughing so I said "what's funny?" and then you looked stupid I'm sure it was you because you have those tattooed eyebrows.
