I'm not sure why this place has such low stars. They are great, clean, friendly, and take the time to give you the perfect nail shape and design. If they don't have room for a walk-in, they don't accept them, which is great for appointment holders and respecting peoples' time. I always go here for my acrylics and fill-ins. They've even fixed nails I didn't like from another salon. The only issue I have ever had is the nail polish can sometimes peel after two weeks, but if I don't pick at them it's not a problem. read more

I had a terrible experience at LV Nails. During a pedicure, Holly ripped and tore the skin at the side of my big toe. Not cuticle, skin!! I bled and sore and swollen. I had to ask her to stop twice due to the extreme pain while she was tearing the skin with cuticle trimmers. Instead of stopping , she continued by finishing ripping the skin and passively aggressively placing the chunk of skin on my knee. I have had multiple pedicures in my life, I have never had a tech cut my skin like this. I am worried I will get an infection. She talked to co worker nonstop and also stopped painting my toes several times to have a conversation. Also, as I was waiting on the person I came with to get her toes painted by another tech ( which also turned out awful), Holly was working on someone else and answered a phone call on her personal cell on speaker, and proceeded to have a long loud personal convo while at work. Nice staff, but crappy manicure. I purchased a regular manicure and sat under the nail dryer 25 minutes. Thinking my nails were dry, I was grabbing my wallet to pay and one of my nails smudged. I told the girl working the desk and I apologized. I felt terrible. The nail tech touched the nail up and I continued to sit under the nail dryer for about 15 more minutes when I finally left. I didn't touch my nails to anything for well over an hour and a half and my thumb smudged when I finally did. The polish was incredibly thick and you could see 3 different coats on my nails. I decided to not worry about then smudge, but the next evening I was simply folding laundry and my paint chipped. The salon is also dusty and dirty. I would've had better luck catching my $20 on fire. This was the second time I've been to this salon and I won't be back. read more

First visit and absolutely the worst pedicure I've ever had. The salon is disgustingly dirty. When I walked in there was a torn and stained towel on the front mat. The towels used by the technician were exactly the same. Everything covered in dust. Once seated, I requested that my water be hotter and the technician increased the temperature and flicked scalding water on my leg. The chair was broken. I asked for a glass of Pinot Grigio (by pointing it out on the salon menu) and received a champagne flute of some type of red. Went downhill from there. Been here a couple times and neither visit was truly pleasant, the wait was just as long with an appointment made as a walk in. This last visit really did it for me... I came for a pedicure and full set and waited an hour before anyone even touched me, the water for the pedicure was cold and I asked the first woman to please add hot water she did but it was still cold, when my tech arrived I asked her to do the same and she just looked at me and smiled..the wait was so long I had to ditch the full set of nails I was about to get and deal with a sub-par pedicure that took forever to complete. Relaxing "me" time turned into a nightmare. Reused tools - microwaved tools in a plastic container?? Visited the shop for a pedicure and gel manicure before the beach. Encouraged to get a "dipped" manicure (which by the way is $10 more). Turned out terribly (as pictured). Both services took 2hrs at 11am on a weekday (when the place was empty). Within hours, manicure, which was supposed to last 3 weeks, chipped and top coat damaged within hours. Basic (regular nail polish) pedicure damaged 3hrs after painting - only thought was the technique of why it would be still "wet" after hours? Made appointment to get it fixed. Arrived and asked what the concern was...was told I could pay $20 to have it fixed. I said that I was not going to pay due to paying $75 prior day and was then verbally attacked in front of other customers by the nail tech ("Ricky"), who stated "There is no problem with your nails. I did them. You just want different color and that's why you are here!!" I was humiliated and forced to wait another 45 mins after that to get my repair. Another staff member/manager repaired all problems and did a great job. Unfortunately, it took another two hours. FOUR hours and two days later, I have decent nails. Will never return. Free wine with service is a nice touch. Always packed. Make an appointment to save yourself frustration. Walk ins appear to have to wait a while. They have a rewards system so ask about it. I have gotten shellac manicure and regular pedicures here and they've been fine. Definitely recommend them over some of their competitors. They do good work and have wine. read more

This was the second time I've been here and it will be the last. I had made apts for 3 pedicures at noon. We showed up 10 Min early, and were sat right away. We then waited almost 40 Min before someone care over. I had to take my feet out of the water because they were pruning haha!!! We were still waiting By the time my sisters toes were done. The staff here is so friendly and I am always pleased with their services! The only down side to LV is that it stays pretty busy, so sometimes it can be difficult go get in unannounced. However, if they are busy the staff always does their best to make an appointment for you as soon as possible. This is my favorite nail salon in Johnson City! read more

Will not recommend this place to any of my friends or even someone looking for a nail salon. We went for a pedicure and called ahead to let them know, three of us would be arriving. We got the sugar scrub pedicure and while they were scrubbing my mother in law's foot she screamed and said "stop!" The woman was using a hard tool on her foot and not paying attention and rubbed her foot raw. By the end of the pedicure my mother in law's foot was bleeding. We went to pay and my mother in law was hesitant to say something because she felt bad, but when the lady at the desk asked how it went, we encouraged her to say something. They sent for a manager and the manager came up and never even looked at her foot and says "oh that happens sometimes, just put Neosporin and band-aid on it and if you still have problems in few days, then come back and we will see what we can do". She said no discount or nothing. Then walks off. Another lady came up and asked to see it and felt so bad and got a first aid kit, doctored it up and then hands my mother-in-law a gift card to come back for $10 off. Sorry but that isn't costumer service,, you made someone bleed and then tell them to put Neosporin and a band aid and you think that's enough. We have a special event this weekend and my mother-in-law will be in pain all weekend trying to walk in heels because of where the sore is located. We will never be back. read more

I went in for a fill in. The place I normally go was busy, and I needed them filled tonight before I go out of town, so I went to this place. I had been here a few times a couple years ago and remembered it being average. The salon looked musty and in need of some TLC but it wasn't so bad that I was immediately turned off. Anyway, the lady who did my nails asked what I wanted, and I said I needed a fill in and that I wanted them trimmed a little. She proceeded to whip out her nail clippers and went ahead and trimmed them before anything else. Didn't necessarily have an issue with that but found it odd. She then filed my nails much shorter than she trimmed them and gave me a weird shape that I did not ask for. I wanted to keep the same shape that I had, which was coffin, but now they are much more narrow and tear-drop looking. They don't look terrible but I didn't ask for that. When I said something she said "Later, ok??" very harshly. Then she drilled my nails and kept cutting the cuticles. I expressed discomfort each time and she said "sorry! Try to sit still!" I have been getting acrylics and fill ins consistently for six years and I have never, not once been cut like this, so I know it wasn't me. The paint job is also spotty and textured and some of the nails are crooked. Anyway, I should've read the reviews first, so that's my fault. I'll be over here, soaking my fingers in alcohol so I don't get an infection. 0/10 would not recommend read more

I had an appointment for a mani and pedi. No special designs. They took me back to the pedi chairs 10 min after my appointment time. And i was left back there. They were behind and took their regular customers before me. While i was getting my pedicure another lady came and said she was to prepare me for mani. I had to lean over the side of chair and forward so she can reach me. This was the most uncomfortable position. I don't pamper myself often and the time i do this place made it horrible. The nail techs did a good job, but customer service from the gentleman I presume is the manager was terrible. I took my daughter with me for a mani/pedi as a special treat. She is well behaved, but still a 5 year old and I accidentally dropped her bottle of nail polish she'd picked out and was trying to show me. I promptly picked it up and was holding it while she looked for a complimentary color for her nails. He immediately came over, didn't bother to address me in a polite manner, and TOLD me to handle the nail polishes for "her" so she doesn't drop them. She was being not disruptive in any way and I'm the clumsy one that dropped the nail polish. I have tried several nail places in town that take walkins, but there haven't been any that really impressed me. lately I have heard good things about LV, so I wanted to give them a try. I went in and at first was told they did not have time to do a pedicure and a manicure- so I asked if they had time for just the pedicure. they told me to come back in an hour for the pedicure. The girl who did my pedicure was nice, but their pedicure chairs do not have a massage feature and they seem fairly old. I had the chocolate pedicure which sounded great on the menu, but it turned out to be nothing more than a cheap cocoa butter scented scrub and cocoa butter moisturizing cream. The girl scrubbed so much and unnecessarily that it became irritating. then she put the cocoa butter lotion on my feet and legs and wrapped them in warm towels. No massage- which I feel is an essential part. I can understand if you go in for a basic quick pedicure but I did not, and felt that the price was way too high for the service that I received. during the pedicure she asked why I had come in left and come back and I explained that I originally wanted a pedicure and a manicure or but was told that I could not get both. The girl offered to do a manicure as well, and I stress that it would not be a problem to come back tomorrow because I did not want to keep them from staying late. she said it wasn't a problem so then we went to do the manicure as well. The manicure was nothing special. at the point where I thought she might be trying to massage my hands, she did an extremely quick once over and then grabbed my hands with hers and pulled in a way that all of my knuckles cracked. I absolutely hate to crack my knuckles, and I felt that this was not relaxing whatsoever. I paid before she polished my nails and despite my disappointment, left a good tip. she never said thank you and after she ushered me over to the space where my nails could dry, she never offered to remove my toe separators, and promptly left. now I felt bad, although I was not the only customer left in the building 15 minutes after they had closed, I felt like I was making them stay late especially when the girl who did my nails had already left. was it the worst pedicure and manicure I have ever gotten? No. Will I go back? No. i'm a big believer in common courtesy and if a service provider cannot tell a customer "thank you", they will never get my repeat business. read more

The staff here are very friendly. The receptionist is prompt and normally gets you in quickly. The overall establishment is clean. However, the actual nail service is horrible. My nails got filed to jagged sharp claws. In addition, the gel Polish began chipping the very next day. Within five days two of my nails split and broke off. The quality of the products and technique of the service are the issues. The place had a lot of potential; however, the lack of quality and cheap application of the products ruined my nails. I am new to Johnson City and was hoping to find a regular spot for nail care. I have my nails and toes done every two weeks. I liked the atmosphere- upbeat, nice that you could order a drink and the pedicure chairs were comfortable and luxurious. However, the girl who did my mani/ pedi did a lackluster job on my toes and ruined my finger nails. She left them jagged and uneven and as sharp as razor blades! I was so taken aback I didn't even know what to say. It will take weeks to get them back to normal and I'm driving over an hour to my old salon to let them fix the damage. I won't ever be returning to LV Nail Bar. :-( I was cut severely on the corner of my finger. The technician wanted to continue & couldn't understand when I requested that he not touch my blood with a "blood stopping liquid gel". He touched the bottle tip to my blood! I nearly passed out. I still paid full price even when I voiced that I felt uncomfortable, frustrated, and disappointed with the service. I asked the manager, "Do ever fill out contamination paper work? Is there a protocol? Is this how you always handle injured customers?" He replied, "No, we don't file anything. No, we don't have an accident protocol. Yes, this is how we treat our customers." -- Sad to say, one my favorite places has lost its appeal & drive to satisfy customers and create a fun & welcoming, laid back environment. This place is racists. I have tried to walk in for a pedicure 3-4 times. I was turnt away by the girl at the front desk. She always says they are too busy (they have her trained well). So this past Saturday I made an appt.. When I got there she told me to pick a color then she came and told me they were running behind, did I want to go to the store up the street they opened about a month ago that they could get me right in. So me trying to be understanding I said sure. She said I already told her you were coming. She preceded to take the nail polish out my hand before I had a chance to give it back to her and said they have the same color there. So I drove to the store and still had to wait 30 minutes before she started on me. The water was cold. I had to ask her to fix it twice and she had a child helping her that looked like she was about 11 years old. Now mind you the girl said she could get me right in.
