Ambiance is beautiful with the white sofa banquettes and beautiful lighting. Food was ok. Service was subpar. The hostess was super friendly, but the server was very bad - clearly doesn't care. I asked for my salad to be lightly dressed. He acknowledged my request, and when my salad came out, the dressing was clearly heavy. I pointed this out, and he disagreed, saying it was the shaved parmesan. Ummm, I can tell when a salad has too much dressing. He said I was wrong and walked away. When he came back to ask how we were, I repeated that the salad had too much dressing, and he totally ignored me. He couldn't care less. Don't plan to go back. read more

Easily my favorite brunch in the city as it has EVERYTHING you could ever want in a spot on the DC brunch scene--great food, amazing ambiance, delicious drinks and immaculate vibes! Let's start with the food: a solid menu with a little something for everyone. There's a nice variety of sweet and savory options plus a few items of lite fare as well as heavier plates. They've changed their menu recently but it still gives elevated American food. I usually opt for the burger when I brunch and this one does not disappoint. Ambiance: The restaurant is bright and intimate yet spacious enough that it doesn't feel overwhelming. The seating is comfortable yet very modern and chic. Drinks: What's a DC brunch without bottomless? Moderately priced at $28/pp for bloody Mary's and bottomless carafes of champs plus 3 flavor options (lavender lemon is my fave). They also have a full bar (obvi) and a really nice selection of brunch cocktails that look just as wonderful as they taste! Vibes: One thing that sets Lyle's apart is the bomb brunch vibe. You feel like you're in a swanky NYC spot with the beautiful people that show up but also the music is always on point. They have a DJ Saturdays and Sundays until 3pm playing a little bit of everything. The music isn't so loud that you can't carry a conversation but just loud enough to sing along if you want. Icing on the cake is the service! Very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable host and wait staff. The last two times I've visited I had the pleasure of having Kevin as our server. If I could request him each time I would--just so friendly, down to earth and responsive to the needs of his guests. We ordered the french toast and steak and eggs. The flavors of the French toast was good, but the texture was too mushy. Additionally they advertise that the steak is medium, however, ours was very well done. Service was fast and efficient, and they always have a fun brunch vibe on the weekends!! I found this place on Yelp so we came to have drinks and ended up eating dinner at the bar. The scallop crudo was absolutely delicious, would go back for that alone. The cocktail menu was great and the bartender was friendly and helpful. He even gave us tips on where to go next on our DC trip. The first thing I wanna say is that they 'close' at 3pm for brunch but they do not make their policy apparent so they'll let you book a 2:15/2:30/2:45 reservation and then when you get there be like 'oh you have 20 minutes for bottomless' I get this policy but tell people or don't let them book RIGHT before kitchen/bar close This being said, the server hooked up 2 pitchers for us and the food, beverages and atmosphere were great. Fun DJ for brunch. We will def be back but earlier in the day to get the whole experience. Really sad to say this place is not what it used to be. Brunch has taken over and as a result the food quality and service has gone down. If used to be a favorite chill spot to hang, have some drinks, and have a delicious meal. You can't even have a convo there now with the dj being so loud and the screaming people. Heads up--on the weekends the brunch is more of like a party, very loud music and a DJ. Walking in was so warm and cozy, what a cute hotel. This was Mother's Day brunch with my son and friends and the restaurant was so cute, with a warm inviting vibe the way it was decorated. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and sat down m, we were table of eight there was a DJ with a wonderful music to go along with the vibe of the restaurant. Isaiah was out server and he was fantastic he gave many recommendations and introduced us to the menu, as we waited and couldn't decide on what to order so we ordered a variety. We started out with a monkey bread and unlimited mimosas which made my son very very happy. I ordered the eggs Benedict over cheesy corn bread which was out of this world and very delicious. My son ordered a burger and a side salad cooked to perfection. We sat and talked listen to the music and it was well worth it. I was excited to go to Lyle's with my friends for a festive NYE dinner, but had a disappointing experience. While the space itself is beautiful, our food was mediocre. The "truffle risotto" was overcooked and under-seasoned. My friends ordered steak, which was also entirely under-seasoned. For dessert, we all ordered "creme brulee" which was not at all creme brulee, but instead more of a custard tart. The crust on mine was visibly damaged. On top of the mediocre food, service wasn't spectacular either. We spoke to the manager about our issues, and were met with a dismissive and rude attitude. While they did discount our bill, at $115 per person for this prefix NYE dinner, it's unacceptable to be anything but polite to guests who are having a sub-par experience. I'm sad to say I won't be returning to Lyle's. read more

I came here during brunch for a birthday celebration. Perfect spot for a classy clean aesthetic. They had Ceiling windows that let in perfect lighting, especially if you want to take pictures. The seating was so comfortable. The servers were well dressed and polite. They had a DJ, who played an variety of fun classic hits. Our entire party didn't arrive till late in the afternoon so we had about 30 minutes of bottomless mimosas and our service made sure we got our drinks (Lee I believe his name was). Went to meet an old friend for appetizers & a smart drink. (2 appetizers + 4 drinks + tax & tip = $110) Couldn't hear ourselves think over the din of a *huge* (size, not quantity) baby shower party whose lungs clearly (sadly?) hadn't been affected by COVID. We were driving from Baltimore and I had all of my friends drive to dc to go to Brunch at Lyles. Because traffic hit we called to say we may be a bit late. The manager said she would see what she could do but no guarantees. My friends and I contemplated going to another place but we decided to continue with our original plans. When we arrived no one was in the restaurant but 2 people at the bar. No one. However, the sweet potato was overly sweet and almost tasted like it should be on the dessert menu.
