Salisbury Tire & Service

Salisbury Tire & Service

I was gifted a truck from my elderly father, who only takes his vehicles to this shop and serviced…read moremy truck here. After a couple of months of having the truck, we spent about $4,000 to have a number of things fixed that should not have been nearly as bad: 1. The check engine light came on, because of a failing O2 sensor. This sensor had last been replaced by Salisbury Tire, and they had clearly not put anti-seize on the threads (absolutely necessary). This made it impossible to remove the sensor without also having to replace the catalytic converter, another $1600 on top of an otherwise $40 sensor replacement. 2. Turns out the O2 sensor itself hadn't failed yet, but the issue was from wiring further up. Additionally, the main wiring harness bundle (includes sensors, main power and grounding wires, system-critical stuff) was not properly fastened during a previous repair (also confirmed to have been done by Salisbury Tire), and was instead resting on the EGR pipe (which gets VERY hot). The wires were being melted through slowly, and I'm lucky we caught this issue before it had caused a much worse failure. According to my father, instead of paying for vehicle service each time he takes them in, he pays them a monthly payment. All of his vehicles always have the check engine light on, and they tell him that it "doesn't mean anything, don't worry about it." Years ago, he even had a tire that fell off of one of his cars while he was driving on the road. I have another family friend who also had one of his tires fall off his car after going to Salisbury. They take advantage of my father, who is elderly and therefore does not have the best judgment of who is trying to scam him. This review is so long because it is long overdue. After years of my father going to this shop, my family now refers to any scammy auto shop as a "Salisbury Tire."

They are friendly and fair in pricing and they always follow up after to see if I was satisfied with my service. Great customer service and they are now my shop of preference.

If your car is a diesel vehicle I would not suggest going here. I needed an oil change and…read moreVolkswagen didn't have any appointments for weeks and I didn't want to wait. I called around to a few places to find a place that worked on diesel cars and they said they did. When I showed up there was lots of confusion about my car. Wrong parts were used and eventually they determined they didn't have the part my car needed. I was advised to come back the next day, still no part. Day 3 at first they told me they didn't have the part then a second person came to correct the first so I was finally able to get my oil change. I thought everything was good until I went to get my car inspected...something was wrong with my car. Wrong filter and I had an oil leak (I'm not a car person but I'm pretty sure that was it). So I had to take my car to VW to get the work done correctly. This place was a waste if my time and money. I would never return.

I pulled in and was immediately greeted by a tech to tell me which lane to go in. I only had waited about 5 minutes until the car in front of me was done. I pulled in and the tech was super friendly. I asked a lot of questions and he answered all of them. I believe his name was Nathan and he was one of the assistant managers. I literally sat in my car the whole time and was in and out literally in 10-15 minutes!! They don't just do oil changes, he checked all of my lights, horn, signals etc. Also, if you are a first time customer, you get $5 off! I'm glad I stumbled across this place because I will definitely be coming back!! *This place is also Veteran owned and operated, much respect!*

I needed an oil change and my regular drive up place had a mile of cars waiting, the same situation…read moreas two days before when I got in the line and then gave up after 45 minutes in line. So I gave Take 5 a try. Two open bays (out of three) and I was able to drive right in, no wait. They serviced my car quickly, gave me a $10 discount on a cabin filter, and had me on my way. A few points of observation. First, they have you pop your hood in the driveway and then get you to pull in. Driving with the hood open sets off all kinds of alarms in my car and I am not sure why they would do this. Second, it took two of them to get the cabin air filter in. Makes me question either the correct size of the filter or the experience of the crew. Third, the oil they used was purportedly good for 7000 miles, but the windshield sticker mileage says come back in 3000 miles, so it is up to me to remember to ignore the sticker. Finally, the price seemed higher than where I usually go. But again, it was my choice to pay more instead of sitting in line for another hour. Verdict: they did the job, I saved an hour. I'll absolutely consider them for my next service.

Everyone working there was bad at communicating, the guy said I couldn't get the economy oil change option but wouldn't explain why. I'm assuming/hoping they did an adequate job but it was not a pleasant customer experience.
