Second time leaving a review delete my first one thinking they were going to honor their word to help cover the cost of broken sensors and manifold/ac compressor. In the words of Corey their sales manager they only are love for these passing NJ state inspection. Anything else is your own fault for buying from them. They wouldn't let my husband and I both test drive the Tesla model 3 as they wanted to keep the miles low. Turns out it was incapable of self driving and had a bad sensor. $500 and a tesla visit later. Then first snow storm; heat goes out and it's almost 4k to fix a complete HVAC system which isn't a wear and tear issue it's major issue that affects drivability. Oh and it took them from November to last week to get me my plates. Also no inspection on the car, so if it fails then they'll FINALLY discuss paying for the fixes to get it to pass. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL. I bought a 2017 BMW 430i from david (sales person) on the way back home the coolant light came on. I called the dealership trying to reach david for a whole week I wasn't able to, then i went to the dealership exactly a week from the day i bought the car. I was there for 4 hours and a half waiting for them to tell me yea it's under warranty and if i need a loaner car. I said yes and then i waited for hour and a half to get one. There excuse was we don't have any loaners we called more than 4 places when i went outside the car was cold engine was cold everything was cold which means the car was sitting outside the whole time. Service manager has the most attitude i ever seen in my life Cody or Corey one of these 2 names and then after 5 days of them having my car and giving me no updates on it and i was trying to reach them the whole time and i couldn't. The receptionist her name is Ingy answered me with also an attitude not as bad tho. And i asked to speak with the general manger she put me on hold for 10 mins when the manger is on vacation and he was even there i had to hang up and call again. We worked with John Beneduce in July 2022. This was the first time we bought a car from a dealership and as a Veteran family, expecting our first child we thought he'd be helpful in ensuring we'd get a reasonable deal with full transparency. That was most definitely not the case. He oversold us service plans and warranties that were nothing close to its worth. We had paid off the vehicle in less than a year and tried to get reimbursed for some of the cost of the services and warranties since we had not used it. & while he guaranteed that we could be reimbursed part of the cost for some of the services since we never used it, I signed the application to cancel the plan and get the reimbursement & was told that it'd be 6-8 weeks until we see the check. This was done in June 2023 and after trying to follow up several times, we havent heard anything. We paid $1750 for a service plan that we thought would cover services every 6k miles up to 36,000 miles. So as I come in for what I thought would be our 30k mile service, we found out that what actually was sold to us was only 3 oil changes & 3 tire rotations. The Service Department was very nice and explained what they could the best to their ability but we were completely misled by the Dealership to believe that all our services were covered. Lessons learned on our end for sure about buying from a dealership but if there's a definition of slimy, distrustful car salespeople- I'd say they'd be at Lynnes Subaru. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I took in my 2016 Subaru for an issue with my valve body transmission. This was an issue diagnosed by another mechanic, so I called the Subaru center where I purchased the car (more on that later) where I was told it was covered under warranty. I decided to take to Bloomfield Subaru location since it was closer to my home. When I told the repair center the issue and that it was covered under warranty they insisted that it wasn't and then after giving the car a 4-point inspection suggested more than $15K in repairs! At that point I called the original Subaru center (Liberty Subaru in Emerson) and they reconfirmed that the part was covered and that they'd see it that day. After taking it into them - again Liberty Subaru in Emerson!!! - they gave me 50% off on inspection since it was already reviewed and then diagnosed the valve body transmission and an issue with the axle. Total cost thanks to warranty - $334. Bottom line - Liberty Subaru Emerson is 30 minutes away but honest, accommodating, and professional. Take the time...take the drive...and thank yourself! read more

Copy of complaint to BBB: Interaction was on February 8, 2013. No money was paid. Business advertises a certified pre owned (CPO) vehicle with VIN 4S4BTAPC8M3107464 for $30822. After spending a couple hours checking things out, when we sat to discuss price, they wanted to add $2690 in fees that they claimed were required by Subaru and the dealership for certification ($1295) and reconditioning ($1395). Their explanation of the fees didn't make any sense, as they noted some of the same things under the certification fee as they did under the reconditioning fee. I noted the vehicle was advertised as CPO at the price of $30822, not as a non-CPO vehicle at $30822 with the option to certify by paying extra. The salesperson said that price was meant to get people in the door. I believe this is considered false advertising even if there might be small print somewhere noting that there may be additional fees. These additions were equal to a nearly 9% up charge to the advertised price before accounting for the standard additional costs of document fees, sales tax, and registration fees. Also, the salesperson let slip that the car hadn't actually been certified yet, as it's still being used as a loaner vehicle and needs to be run through the certification process once the customer currently using it returns it. It was also a bit concerning to hear the car was advertised as passing the inspection when the inspection hadn't yet been done. After leaving Lynnes Subaru, I communicated with another Subaru dealership nearby to check if this was a standard fee charged by Subaru, and the salesperson at the other dealership explained there are no fees to certify a vehicle. However, it seems this is common practice at Lynnes Subaru, to advertise a low price and then add fake fees once a person goes into the dealership. I'm hoping someone can investigate them for false advertising and hopefully stop the practice and maybe even impose some penalties. Notes: After thinking about things, even if the dealership offered me the car at the advertised price, I would not buy from them. This practice really shows how they deal with customers. They're a place I wouldn't trust with an important purchase like this. You can see how the car is advertised in the attached screenshots. However, the out-the-door price they tried to charge was the following: $30822 for the vehicle, $799 for the doc fee, $2273.64 for taxes, $300 for registration, $8.15 for CVR (to print temporary plates), $1295 for policy certification (supposedly required by Subaru to certify), & $1395 for reconditioning (supposedly required by dealerships to certify). This equaled an out-the-door price of $36,892.79 for a vehicle advertised at $30822. Without negotiating on the advertised price, the out-the-door price, which should include only the sale price + doc fees + taxes + registration, should've been around $33,900, give or take a few bucks. That's a final price difference of around $3000. I strongly suggest you check Yelp reviews & BBB ratings for other dealerships in the area and drive a little further if needed to deal with a trustworthy place. read more

Had a non salesman reach out to me acting like he was the salesman telling me he spoke to his mgr and agreed to negotiate withiin my budget. Drove over 2.5 hours to be thrown to another salesman with no acknowledgement to the agreement, come to find out it is a call center rep to drive people in. It was too expensive to repair and so ultimately I decided not to but they charged me almost $900 for parking. If you value your Subaru vehicle, don't come here but go to Liberty Subaru in Emerson (it's a hike but you'll see why it's always worth it). I came to Lynn Subaru for a simple oil change and windshield wiper fluid refill (it's less than a 10 min drive from my home). Why did 2 weeks go by and my oil light come on? I went to Liberty Subaru in Emerson and they told me why: Lynn Subaru left the drain plug loose. Emerson Subaru charged me a fraction of the cost to top off my oil, tightening the drain plug and APOLOGIZED on behalf of Lynn Subaru for their inept service. Lynn Subaru has consistently done sloppy work on my Impreza. They overcharge and over diagnose things that aren't even legitimate issues (they once told me I'd need new spark plugs at 70k miles??). The guys in the back are so busy lifting weights and the guys in the front keep chatting about forcing customers to fill out surveys so it's looks like they actually do a decent job. David gave me a discount for waiting close to 3 hours for lousy work. I tried calling today to get into contact with him to communicate my dissatisfaction and someone said they couldn't locate him in the building. Do you know how small this building is?? ZERO STARS. Might be the worst dealership I've been too in 48 years! I tried to get service here years ago and they were very rude, so I left. So, I gave them a 2nd chance on parts and very rude again so I left. Now I had to get my car serviced here because it is only 10 mins from my home compared to the 45 mins I drive to another dealership in Orangeburg NY for amazing service. Now I am trying to get refunded for the flush I should have never gotten. Lynne "fixed" my valve body under warranty but refused to change the transmission fluid even though the fluid is under warranty. Even corporate told me the fluid should have been changed but Lynne decided to not do the right thing. They just topped it off with "2" assuming that is 2 quarts. So if my trans is down 2 quarts, maybe look into why and fix it under warranty? Maybe go above and beyond? NOPE not this place! So I had my other dealership change the fluid and all was well for a few days. NOW all of the lights are back on the dash so I brought it back and they told me the OTHER dealership messed up the transmission by changing the fluid and what looks like to be oil or coffee fluid and not CVT fluid. This is all on video and corporate has seen it. But they told me the fluid did not need to be changed because it has nothing to do with the lights. SMH get your story together Lynne! NOW the lights have been on and off for 2 weeks now. Amazing ha! Pretty embarrassing to disrespect another dealership so I am now working with Corporate to get my car fixed properly. The other dealership is aware of the video and taking action also. My 3rd party remote start no longer works now also. They said they will not fix that. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!! ZERO STARS! It is the worst dealership and Deriam is the worst sales. I placed an order in august and with Deriam. After two month, deriam told me that he placed an order for a model Subaru no longer manufacture, so that he had to place an order again. I was really upset but I agreed to place order again. Deriam confirmed the order and called me to let me know that the car will arrive in December. When I call to get update today, Deriam denied received confirmation from me. So basically after approximately five month, they did not place an order. It is ok to make mistakes, but the deriam made the same mistake twice. This is THE WORST place to conduct repairs. Their lack of customer service and efficiency is astounding as the front desk employees are total idiots. They mess up the initial intake form and double charge for services / issues that their technicians initially didn't accurately diagnose. I am currently rebutting an additional charge for an issue they incorrectly diagnosed and fixed twice. Twice!!! READ YOUR INTAKE FORM CAREFULLY!!! They are notorious for not calling customers on special orders whom are waiting to get repairs. The staff at Lynne's quickly recognized my discomfort and removed me from the situation. Lynnes subaru is by far the best dealership experience Ive ever had. First off, my salesman, Sergio Ramirez was the best salesman ive ever had. He was patient, understanding, and answered every question I had. He's very knowledgeable on every car on the lot and takes his time with you during the whole process of looking and buying a car. Had a great experience leasing my new Subaru Crosstrek. The positive: I got the one I wanted, with the features I wanted, no problem, and I got my first color choice. The buying experience was smooth, no hassles, no high-pressure The salesperson (Alan) was as nice as could be. For such a young man he was extremely courteous and really knew quite a bit about Subarus as well as other cars. Talking to him about cars was easy, and I never felt like he was dismissive of me the way I have felt at other dealers in the past. This was probably the quickest I've had the paperwork completed ever when buying a car. The plates came in quickly, I picked them up today. The lady in the finance dept was just as nice as could be. The not so good: The dealership parking lot is way too small and a nightmare to navigate. They have to stop traffic to get you out of the place safely because of the traffic on Bloomfield Ave. The dealership floor is very smooth tile and it's slippery as hell. Don't wear dress shoes. The salespeople were all sliding around, and my work shoes were not very sturdy in there. I bought a used Forester from them in 2010 (I still have it, 167K and still going strong) and they used to be across the street. I also bought a 2008 Altima from their Nissan affiliate. So, Lynne's has done well by me over the years. I am not strictly loyal to one dealer, but I feel I was treated well and got the best deal. read more

Let's start my review when I purchased my car 3 years ago. I bought a CERTIFIED pre owned legacy and within a week the car would shut off after my hour commute to work. Literally shut off at lights after running an hour. I go and send my car back I'm given a loaner and it's there for 2 months. Now I TOLD them numerous times it takes my commute to work which is an hour and then it will guaranteed shut off at the first full stop. They didn't try this ONCE and returned it to me. My first 3 hours with the car I'm driving upstate and the transmission completely fails on me going 75 MPH almost causing a major accident as the car shot down to 25 MPH. Another month passes the car was deemed totaled and the dealer had to give me a newer car at a much better price. Still about $60 more a month then I wanted but it was a steal. Granted they gave this to me to avoid a lawsuit as they didn't certify the car properly. NOW fast forward to a month ago. I get a call for 2 safety recalls. I haven't brought my car back here for a single thing seeing the level of incompetence was at an all time high 3 years before. put my car into the shop at 8 am on Friday August 14th and planned it early bc there was 2 recalls. They were behind 14 cars from the day before(wow great job) and told me it might not get done today. No problem I took off today for this but I don't need my car this weekend. I just need it before Monday for work. Fast forward looking get a call at the end of Friday saying there's 2 cars ahead of me still. I was told I'd get a call the next day when it was done. Saturday starts and I'm doing things I need when I catch the time, I call it to find out the shop closed without contacting me. I was told my cars probably done(they can't check or do anything since the service area is closed, that's an issue, it's info systems there's no reason they shouldn't be integrated with tech today, that's basic stuff). I come in at 7 am Monday and wait for 30 mins for it to open. I was told that the job was expected to take a week, which no one told me, and that they didn't even have the parts needed until Saturday(not mentioned in the Friday call). If I had known that I would have requested a loaner on Friday but now of course an hour into my expected work shift I am being told that the work could take a week to do. No one told me that as a matter of fact no one told me the recalls I was just told I had 2 safety recalls that would be done free. While this was all happening the service manager was yelling at and firing a worker in front of me and another customer. This is not only unprofessional, but the worker in question was IN THE HOSPITAL and had his discharge paperwork from COVID. It's clear to me the owners of lynnes either don't care about how they are represented or they are as incompetent as their dealerships come across. Normally I would not come after a business like this but it's clear from The top down the leadership and workers have no respect for their customers. The lady who checked my car in had the AUDACITY to raise her voice and give me attitude saying she talked to me Saturday. Check your call logs and you will see your workers are lying to save themselves. THAT to me is unacceptable. Mistakes happen but in my 3 years since the purchase nothing at all has changed if anything the workers here have gotten worse. It's a shame as I'm approaching the end of my financing and was truly considering giving the sales department another chance but now there is NO WAY I'll be bringing or recommending anyone come here. I'd rather drive the 40 mins to Paul Miller to give them my business. I'd also like to add while there that the other customer was having her own issues with them and was giving them a final chance. I told her about my situation and then she saw the lady yelling at me and how the manager treated me and as she was leaving she said good luck I hope everything works out for you. If the best part of my experience at your business is that ANOTHER CUSTOMER can relate to my stress and my issues with your service THAT sois a major problem. To summarize, they sold me a car that was CERTIFIED but in no way was safe to drive, They spent 3 months total "fixing" my issues just to almost cause a potential fatal accident due to their negligence , their solution to all of this was to provide me a more expensive car then the one I originally purchased and said take it or take a refund(I traded my car in which was now gone and not available to return to me), and then after 3 years staying away they plan my car a month ahead and not only could they not honor the time the scheduled me but they couldn't even communicate the job details let alone that it's a major job which would take a week and to top it off tried to blame me. Terrible service department. Brought in my car for an airbag recall and oil change on Monday morning at 8 AM.Service rep talked me into doing the scheduled maintenance. Service rep told me there would be a possibility of the car not being ready until Tuesday. That was OK by me. Here it is Thursday, I have no car, and no one returns my calls from the service department. I left my car at Bloomfield nj Subaru. I was given a loaner which I maintained very well. I kept calling for months about my car and because of pandemic I assumed it was backed up. I paid for new 2 new rims which only one was given. They stated that I was given a new tire but it's the same tire on there and the side molding panel was missing bolts and is also scratched. The oil leak that the transmission had was fixed. The car was filthy also. It was like a junk car when I came to pick it up. read more

I went to Lynnes Subaru after I had a horrible experience at Paul Miller Subaru. (Make sure to read that one too). I spoke with Mr. Schwartz because they had a nice Subaru hatchback that I was interested in and was within my price range. After bringing in my pre-approval and we were running the numbers, he added on an additional $5000 worth of fees to my total. I took a step back and didn't feel like the deal was fair at all. My recommendation, skip the Bloomfield exit on the parkway and make your way to Towne Subaru in Englewood. I got a better car for a better price and they're staff were awesome. read more

Inane experience with the usual back room meeting before coming back with a ridiculously high price. On what planet is a $36k MSRP car almost $500 per month lease with 10k allowable miles per year? A Volvo XC90 is $489 per month and it's a $48k MSRP car. (The down payment is slightly higher with the Volvo but not nearly enough to justify the discrepancy). Here's the worst part: when I said it was too high, the manager said "OK, how about if I give you my best price?" Really? So what you gave me was not your best price? Are we haggling in an alley like lowlifes or is this a car dealership? There should be one fixed lease price per model, period. There should be no waiting while a sales associate goes into a back office to wait while a manager "comes up with" a price. Do people "negotiate" the price of an Apple computer? Of course not! My sales associate, I would like to add, was lovely. None of this is her fault. However based on this experience I'll never set foot in this dealership again OR buy a Subaru. read more
