I've had wonderful experiences with Lynne Subaru for years until this month. Three weeks ago went in for full inspection. I felt my tires were off and they said it was fine... five days later my tire pops without hitting anything, and it was because my tire was very eroded... I call the parts department to order the tire. They said they'd reserve a tire for my appointment and I didn't need to buy over the phone. I come in for the next day for my appointment and (after an hour of back and forth) they didn't have the tire. Was not offered any discount for the mix up. Got the tire today and they found a problem with my filters. First visit they did a full car inspection and I think the second as well. When I asked how long does it take, they said I can just make another appointment. I don't have time or money for weekly visits and wish they could find problems in one shot. All of the being said- Ian provided great customer service during it all. He answered all my questions, explained everything that was happening, and dealt directly with the part department to get the tire I needed. He didn't cause any problems but tried really hard to fix them. You a real one Ian. Someone please give that man a raise he deserves it!!! Only reason I gave three stars read more

Worst car shopping experience I've had. Called ahead of time to speak with a salesman about a car listed on their website. Specifically told him what I was willing to pay so I wouldn't waste a trip, and he assured me they could get it done for that price. He asked if I could get there at 2pm and I did. I got there at 2, just to sit around waiting for 15 minutes before a different salesman offered to help. They took forever to bring out the car I was interested in, and to apraise my car for a trade in. Eventually we got to talking numbers and they were nowhere near what they told me they could do on the phone. They just lied to get me in the door. And none of the employees were wearing masks/gloves. The salesman I had would put his on when he came near, but it never covered his nose. And I specifically asked them to make sure who ever handles my car had a mask on, and of course they lied again, as I could see the guy going through my car with no mask or gloves. Never experienced a more incompetent dealer. I've bought this certified Subaru Forester a year ago and still haven't received my title nor have the car transferred in my name. I've called twice to try to resolve and nothing. I'm taking this to corporate. It's important to execute the simple things to keep clients happy. And this by far is a major inconvenience. read more

It's a shame that some car dealers still operate this way. I went to look at a used car. The price was fair. I decided to leave a deposit so they filled out the standard form to purchase a car. The "Doc Fee" was listed as $600 which is 2x the average doc fee in NJ. That should have been the first sign....The form was presented to me as complete. I asked if there were any other numbers that were not filled in yet. Surprise, they came back with another fee $1,000 - "Recondition Fee". I was ready to buy the car prior to that move. It's a shame. Lot's of other Subaru dealers. UPDATE 12/24: I wrote to "Felicia Rey" at the email and never heard back. I called the number in the reply at least 6 times over several days and no answer and no voicemail. It does not even ring at the dealership. I called the dealership 3x and was told by different people there is no one with that name there. Apparently it is a marketing company that answers for the dealership on social media. I will never take my car here again. After bringing my car in because the check engine light came on, I was told that the light isn't on now so there was Nothing they could do and that there computer wasn't seeing anything. A week later my engine light came on as I was exiting the highway and then my car completely shut down. I took the car back to lynnes and was told the engine block had cracked. The same technician told me that the computer said I drove 20 plus miles with the light on. This was not true. Funny how the computer could tell them that but couldn't tell them why my engine light was going on and off.......... DONT BUY OR SERVICE YOUR CAR HERE!!! read more

There is a reason why this dealership has shitty reviews. I have a lease that I purchased out of state, spoke to corporate and they said I can return to Bloomfield without an appt. I arrive there, mind you I cancelled the insurance as of tonight an the manager who intakes leases was there and not busy at all but REFUSED to take in my car because it wasn't purchased from them. To say this was the worst buying experience of my life would be an understatement. My husband and I went to the dealership in May and knew exactly what we wanted after a test drive. We were told inventory was low due to the pandemic (which we totally understood) but we would have our car in a few weeks. We were also told that we would be kept updated on the progress of our car. We were very open minded to different colors and said we would be happy with whichever came in first. After several weeks without any updates, my husband and I started calling the dealership and got a new answer every time ("the car will be in next week", "I'll call you tomorrow", "give me the weekend", etc.). Finally, at the end of June we were told the car would be in the week of July 12. I called the Friday before to check in and I was told everything was going as planned and I would get a call on Monday. I did not get a call on Monday. We called on Tuesday and left a message and never heard back. Finally, I called on Wednesday and spoke to Lou my sales rep who said they actually never got the car which had been promised to me. He said he would call me back on Friday with an update and if I were to go with a higher model, they would not charge me any more than my original negotiated price. I once again had to call on Friday, and Lou gave three unrealistic options (one used, Outback when we wanted a Forester, and one of the higher model that did not have a firm arrival date). I was also told if I were to go with the higher model, I would have to pay more money which was the opposite of what I was originally told. We had put down a deposit on the car and when we found out we would not be getting a car from this dealership, we asked for the money back. We were told it would take 24 hours and in reality it took 5 days and at least 5 phone calls to get it back. This is not an inventory issue because I understand that cars are really hard to come by. The issue is being lied to and jerked around for 2 months. When we finally decided to go to another dealership, we were able to drive off the lot with a new Subaru Forester the next day at Ramsey where we were treated like actual human beings. read more

IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD. This is probably the worst place to ever buy a vehicle. The staff is incompetent, the management is non responsive and worst of all they will lie to you over the phone. Here is my experience I purchased a pre owned vehicle on Dec 7 2018 I was given a 30 day temp plate since I live out of state. The plate expired on 1.5.19. I inquired about my registration being mailed to me about a week before the temp expired. This is where the lies begin Lie #1 it takes longer since it out of state. I came to find out my paperwork for my registration sat on somebody's desk for 3 weeks. Lie#2. We sent the check out to pay off the trade in. I came to find out on Dec 28 that they needed my signature in the pay off authorization. Lie#3 we need the title from your trade in before we can release the new registration to you. I came to find out on Jan 3 2019 that my registration paperwork was never submitted, mind you my temp registration expires Jan 5. So the give me a piece of paper saying my registration is delayed ( which is equivalent to writing a note saying please don't give me a ticket if I get caught driving with a expired registration). They had the audacity to tell me I can drive my car after the temp registration expires and if I get a ticket they'll take care of it. Here it is in a nutshell 1.I bought a car I can't drive no registration from Jan 6 until Jan 16th 2 I traded in a car that I had to continue to make payments on since they didnt pay it off within a month 3.the salesperson marilyn Rey did not follow up with me until I got angry. 4 I got my registration in Jan 16th 1 month and 10 days later. 5 they made an accounting error and said I owed them 500 bucks in top of that. Do not do business with these people. I went there at the end October looking to buy a car. I put a deposit down on a car. I ended up holding off on the purchase because I received news that there may be another COVID shutdown that would affect my business. I returned to the dealership to explain the situation and to get my deposit back. I had to fill out a refund form because the check I left the previous day was already deposited. I was told by Drew, the sales representative with whom I dealt, that a check would mailed to me. A Horrible Experience: I found a vehicle in their inventory and was assured it was available. I took it for a test drive and sounds started emanating from the right side of the car. They took a look at it. Then the salesperson came over to me and told me that the car was already sold. and I was also told that you had to finance the vehicle. My brother and I came into Lynne's Subaru looking to purchase a Cross Trek. Olga Rogers greeted us and it took less than 5 minutes before we first wanted to walk out. Olga asked why we were there, after we told her our interest, she said she had a couple of cross treks and asked for our social security numbers to run our credit. This was shady as we also told her we had no intention of financing the car and was looking to purchase in cash. I had to resist heavily and start walking out before she let go of it. We then went on our test drive, which was normal. We liked the car and went back to negotiate pricing, which went well. They had come down to a price we liked and we were willing to buy. Unfortunately it was in the evening; and we needed to wait until the morning to grab a cashiers check for the agreed amount. The next day, that agreed amount changed. Olga expressed that they are no longer going to honor the deal. It was quite disappointing. For the next couple of weeks, Olga sent me emails repeatedly asking me to come buy a car. I called Olga and asked her not to email or call me given they were not willing to sell me a car at a price we agreed to. The emails stopped for a little, but they picked up recently; which reminded me to write this review. Awful predatory sales practices. If you don't want to read this review because it is long, just read this. Go ANYWHERE else. You will be ripped off here. They use really low level bait and switch tactics to get you in the door and then upsell you like crazy with really weak sales tactics. A peanut could sniff out the constant lies. Also be careful about positive review on google, they are all posted within one month which usually means they are purchased comments vs genuine customers. All of them reference the same 3 sales people and use the same key words. This place is a joke. I was quoted on TrueCar for a specific vehicle with a lease estimate and this was all based on my bad credit, and true car breaks out all the expenses, money factor(interest) miles terms and fees very clearly. 1. Called ahead to confirm the car was available they confirmed, also had filled out a finance pre approval online and they told me I was approved to come in 2. Confirmed they accepted TrueCar deals, they did 3. I Didn't trust that the car was actually there from the verbal confirmation on the phone so I sent an anonymous IM on the website to ask if the vehicle was in stock referencing the VIN, Paul said it was 4. Arrived 2 hours later and apparently the car had sold in that short time (certainly possible but the dealer was empty so unlikely.) 5 after telling sales I didn't want to pay one penny over the estimate I was quoted and told him it was based on a 590 fico, he agreed took notes on my deal, and went to the manager 6. they tried to upsell me on a different car. I declined the car at an additional $500. Btw this is all with a negotiated deal up front, there honestly should have been very little discussion, otherwise they shouldn't use TrueCar, they clearly use it as a bait and switch tool. 7. They came back and told me they could "get" me a car, but my TrueCar price didn't include a $500 DMV fee (DMV fees in a quick google search are like 80 bucks. Sales insisted nope they are 500 so I agreed at his suggestion To roll the 500 into my payment, so they got me up where they wanted me at an additional 500) 8. I was asked to fill out finance forms even though I already filled them out in the pre approval. I get notifications from Capital One when my credit score is run and at 6:03PM I got a notification my credit was run through JPMorgan Chase 9. Sales comes back and asks for my debit card to pay the 2K out of pocket expense. Card was run at 6:06PM (3 minutes after they saw my credit score, btw this is also all being done when they didn't have a car they were going to "Get" it.) 10. I get my card back and then manager wanted to talk to me, and told me I wasn't approved. AFTER they took my 2K. He said he needed some time to fight the bank but confirmed he knew the payment was going to be higher a month than we discussed because he thought he was approving Tier 1 Credit which is no way cause I told them multiple times it was 590, and also it was a base model Forester so for tier 1 there's NO WAY the quote would be 233 money factor and 289/no like I was quoted. Car residual is approx 65%. Math don't add up bro. But they knew, they didn't care they had my money. Greed is good, but they are pigs. DO NOT go here. The bait and switch is shady at worst, and the $500 upsell is whatever everyone does that.., but running my credit knowing I didn't get approved and THEN taking 2K CASH from me and THEN tellING me I will probably have to pay more is very close to Extortionist. Manager suggested I get a co-signer so I called mom (mom to the rescue) after I left and she has a lot more experience then me, knew what they did, and had to call multiple times to get the coward manager on the phone and demand they refund me my deposit. The people answering the phone even tried to tell her he was in a meeting...it was 7PM lol. They're all in it together. As of now I haven't received the money back but it should be here tomorrow. I hope that happens. I understand my credit is bad but that's why I was honest upfront about that. An honorable dealer would've told me the truth up front, the wouldn't be able to do anything for you with that score, but honorable they were not. read more

I spoke to Niz over the phone multiple times this week and agreed on a price for a new Legacy. Before going in today I spoke to him again and confirmed the price. I explained that I have a new baby and don't have time to waste, so don't just give me a price to get me in the door. That's exactly what they did. 'Niz' wasn't there and the sales people who were there quoted me $1100+ higher than the price agreed. I was lied to, and when I called it out the GM started yelling at me, so I walked out. We have just paid off massive bills after selling our home and tell him we want to wait a month before running our credit (since we know it will be higher). He assures us it's a soft pull - twice. Well he lied. It's a hard pull and we're furious. We wasted an inquiry and were then shooed out the door even though if he had treated us with respect we could have paid cash for the car that day. Terrible dealership. First off, the sales person who wanted to show us the vehicle couldn't even find the vehicle in the lot. It took the sales person a good 20 minutes to finally tell us the vehicle was at another location, while we were left roaming around in the parking lot. A waste of our time. After the vehicle was found, they took us with them to the other location to pick up the vehicle and had me drive it back to the original location. Another waste of time for us. And this was after I told the sales person that I've already test drove the vehicle before!!!! So, we finally sit down to talk business and I ask what the interest rate is for the vehicle, which I already knew - since the interest rate is the same special going right now for these vehicles at all dealerships. However, they failed to tell me the interest rate for financing the vehicle, not sure what the big secret was here, or what this place was trying to pull. Anyway, we had already gone to another dealership earlier in the day, so we knew how much this vehicle can be purchased for, but they came at us with this astronomical high price! Basically, jaw dropping, lets put it that way. We even told them about the competitor offer that we got from the other dealership! But they didn't care! There was basically ZERO room for negotiating with them, since: #1. they didn't want to tell us what the APR interest rate would be for the financing. #2. they weren't willing to see if I would be approved for the rate/loan amount. #3. they weren't budging on the MSRP price of the vehicle. Horrible. I would not buy a car from here. They are terrible to deal with. i got a WRX from here that was used that they would not budge slightly on the price and lied to me about it being MINT. and it went through a 120 point inspection. After the first week of having it i realized the window fluid was empty, the door was missing screws and the small high frequency speaker mounted to the door was missing the latch to attach so was very loose. I have warranty that covers all this but still i would never go back here to get another car. Also my trade in they would budge on. they gave my 7k under the INSTANT CASH value of the car and told me they can't make money off my truck which they are selling for a very nice profit currently. I must say the finance person there was amazing and very informative. other than that i had a horrible experience. read more

Terrible experience at Lynnes. Called service department to schedule an appointment and asked if a rental was available to use to get to work. I was told I needed to wait a week for appointment and specifically picked that day as a rental was available. When I got to the appointment I was told that their policy is only to rent for bigger longer jobs. This was never explained during my initial attempt to schedule. Advisors acted as if I should know this and said they didn't know who I spoke to. The burden should not be on customer calling to receive the proper information but for the business to make sure that whoever answers their phone has the proper knowledge and delivers it. As I could not afford to wait for my car to get serviced and did not make arrangements with work I was forced to try and reschedule. read more

I recently purchased a pre-owned vehicle at Lynnes Subaru in Bloomfield and it was one of the worst professional experiences I've ever had in my life. This was my first car buying experience and how I was treated was astonishing. Pamela DeLorenzo, my sales person, did absolutely nothing to help me. As a first time car buyer, I was lied too, taken advantage of, and disrespected throughout the process. Below is a list of the multiple times I was provided with false information and mistreated. 1. I was told Lo/Jack was part of the car and it could not be removed from the deal after I expressed the fact that I did not want the additional feature, twice. Pamela stated "the Lo/Jack is required because it is part of the car" implying they would not remove it or deactivate it. As a result, she was requiring me to pay an additional $695 on the vehicle. This quote can be confirmed by the person that was with me as we discussed the additional fees that were being added onto the price of the car. 2. Pamela filled out all the paperwork for the Lo/Jack and signed me up for an extended Lo/Jack warranty without telling me. She also did not explain the document that was presented to me or prompt me to read it, simply stating "just sign this for the Lo/Jack" 3. I was drawn to the Forester because I take many trips up to Vermont during the winter as skiing is one of my favorite activities. After discussing this with Pamela she commented that "if my car ever got stolen in Vermont the Lo/Jack would assist in helping the police recover it." I was not given anything that detailed the areas of coverage however, I was able to find a document online that provided me with that information. This document also informed me that Vermont is NOT covered under Lo/Jack making the feature useless in a location I frequent often. 4. When it came down to finances, I requested a 24 or 36 month finance. After a short time Jordan, the finance manager, informed me that a 24 month payment plan was not an option. I then explained that I preferred 36 months however, I ended up only being offered a 48 month plan that I did not want. 5. I traded in my old vehicle, however the vehicle was in my fathers name. So they informed me they would send him documents to finish the deal and they would send me a check for $500 once they got the documents. It has been over a month and I still haven't received a check. 6. After going in and talking to the sales manager, Steve, I was told I'd be able to receive a refund for the Lo/Jack. Again, they told me they would mail out a check for a full refund. It has been over a month and I still haven't received a check. 7. I've called over 6 times to find out the status of my checks. Talking to the receptionist, Pam, Steve, and Jordan, and every time is the same response, "Let me talk to the accounting department and I'll give you a call back" and I've never been called back. This is just a short list detailing the poor quality of treatment I experienced during the buying process at their establishment. Awful place, experience, belligerent customer service. Had an appointment for a rear coil recall. Mind you, I live close to Lynnes, but purchased my Subaru at Ramsey Subaru (great place) because I had the easiest experience with the sales rep over the phone. With everything going on between a pandemic, work, etc., I needed to get in and out as quickly as possible. I made the appointment online from an e-mail notification of the recall from Subaru, also added an oil change, and a simple warranty item, as the cover to the electric driver's seat adjust came off (just the cover, no wiring issues); for 3:45p on a Mon, so I could at least work partly through the day. I arrived, pulled in, handed the keys over, and mentioned what I needed, including the cover. I was told me to speak with the manager, also present, which I did; and he acted like I asked him to personally wash my car with a garden hose on the spot- totally taken back at the mention of it, lots of "oohhh gotta see, I don't know," it was truly like I had asked something outrageous (granted, this was already part of the appointment). Went inside to check in, and the person who was checking me in immediately started making somewhat snarky comments about the time of day. At first I thought he was saying I wasn't there on time, explained I was, and he replied "yea, but for a warranty? How can you do 3:45, my guys are leaving at 5, there's no way we're gonna get this done." At that point, I was really confused and starting to become annoyed. I asked why they take an appointment for that time for that service if they can't accommodate it. He kept saying they didn't, and his colleague next to him kept chiming in (I wasn't speaking with her) and shouting "NO, we didn't take the appointment!" I repeated that I did from their website. Finally, once they understood what I was saying, she said "oh well it's a mistake, we have to let them know." Ok- I still wasn't speaking or dealing with her. Eventually he looked up the car via VIN number. I should've known something was wrong when he said it was a 2014 (mine is 2015), but I didn't think anything of it. He then told me that the vehicle already had the recall done. I explained that's impossible, but he insisted it showed it was done 5/21. He also said, it was not showing an extended warranty (which I paid for and used at Ramsey a handful of times). Due to the pandemic, I wasn't driving basically at all in May, and I certainly never had a service appointment. I checked my e-mails, and had received a notice as late as June. He kept insisting, then printed what was on the computer to "I told you so" me. I said I didn't care, I believed what he was seeing, but it was wrong and I needed it fixed. He then said "well what do you want me to do about it?" I don't know, you're the one who works here, how do you do your job? He explained he would have to call Ramsey Subaru where I purchased it to get to the bottom of this, so I said ok sure, do that. He then said he couldn't do that right now, and it would take at least an hour to get someone on the phone (which I know isn't true from experience). I asked him to do what he had to, he refused, and kept saying he just wouldn't get anywhere, or get it done in time. Eventually, he said he would check my coils condition, did so, and admitted they were indeed not new. He then re-entered the VIN number, and my (correct) vehicle then came up in the system- turns out, as he explained, he needed to put the whole number in (??). I have no idea why that wasn't apparent from the beginning. We at least have the right vehicle, that's part of a recall that hasn't been done, with an extended warranty. Progress? Nope! At that point, he kept insisting that there wasn't really anything that could be done that day. I'd been there like 30-40 min (on a work day), and asked him to please try to accommodate me, but he kept saying he could not. I asked about the oil change and the seat adjust cover; he had to ask his people, more waiting, more frantic reactions, over what should be a simple service request (that I already signed up for). He said he could fit in the oil change, and I asked about the cover too. Again, a lot of huffing, over explaining, checked with the parts manager, then explained "the cover can be replaced, there's like 10 of them in the entire country, we can get it in maybe in a week or two." At that point I asked for my keys and without any effort to assist me further, he sent me on my way- not before one of the workers handed me my keys back without a mask. There were two other people in the service check-in complaining while I was there. On the way home, I called Ramsey and was able to speak with someone immediately (it didn't take 1 hr+). She was exceedingly polite and helpful. She got the cover in by Thu, and Sat had it all done in a few hours, with a loaner. I will always drive the 45 min to Ramsey, not the few miles to Lynnes. I was worried about coming to this dealer because I know people who have personally had bad experiences with them. I even had a bad experience at the Nissan dealer across the street (don't go there). But I actually really liked my salesperson. I had Radomir as a salesperson, and he took the whole process very slow and meticulous, which I appreciated over someone trying to rush through the details to make a sale. Radomir walked me through the test drive, all the paperwork, and the whole process. He worked out the numbers at the interest they use which is if you have great credit, and knowing I wasn't going to get that number, (because you never do unless you have amazing credit), I took it with a grain of salt. Then he submit my paperwork to the finance manager. I had worked out the numbers of the car I wanted with my credit rating before I even walked into the dealership so I would know if they were trying to pull one over on me. I didn't have the best credit so I wasn't expecting a miracle. When the finance manager came back with a number below what I was expecting, I was ecstatic. The finance manager was typical of a finance manager, but he wasn't pushy. My advice, just make sure you do your research before going to buy any car. Look through inventory and find out what they have and how much it costs and definitely know your credit rating so you can determine what kind of interest you might qualify for. They got me where I need to be and in a brand new 2019 with 7 miles on it, below what I expected. read more

I have a fleet vehicle that needs to be picked up and i have been calling the fleet vehicle department for over 48 hours, left 3 messages for 2 different people and have spoken to the receptionist with no call back or help. I just need to confirm the vehicle is ready and let them know when i'll be picking it up. read more

I really wish Yelp provided a lower ranking. I have been to this dealer twice now. The first was to make an appointment to drive a Subaru. I called before I came in saying I was interested in purchasing a new Subaru. The rep, Jon I met with didn't know anything about the cars and it was a complete waste of time. Hard to believe calling and noting that you are coming they would provide a dealer that knows nothing about the brand. I was still interested in the car and he refused to take my TrueCar Certificate that I printed out. Then started making up number that didn't make sense. I finally gave him an offer and he left the room for a minute to "talk to his manager", when he returned he replied "My manager thinks your offer is ridiculous". At this point I stood up and walked out. He continued to called and hound me for days on my mobile and I had to block all of his calls. 6 months later I figured I should try and get someone from the subaru side of the dealership. Since we needed the car and the dealership was close. Also TrueCar certificates should be accepted any kind of price negotiation was going to be needed. We found the car and put a down payment down. It is now 4 MONTHS later had i've had almost zero communication from the dealership. I'm not sure what kind of scam they are running but I had to contact my credit card company about the negligence and if my money is not returned I'll be taking them to court for a full refund. Buy a new car should be a fun and excited experience. This place brings back to 80s mentality of a used car dealer. I'm shocked Subaru of America works with an operation like this. read more
