I have to give this place five stars, even though I have never purchased anything from there. I do, however, drive for Uber eats, and I picked up three iced coffees in a delivery order. They put them in a drink carrier which I then put in an insulated zippy bag. I did not notice that somewhere along the way, one of the drinks had tipped over completely on its side. No fault of the restaurant, it was mine somewhere along the line. Not a drop was spilled. These are the best lids I have ever seen in my life. This place absolutely saved me. This shop is adorable, and the aesthetic makes you expect incredible coffee. My first visit, I ordered the Matcha Oreo Latte, and it was so sweet it was almost undrinkable. I literally couldn't drink it so I just watched as it coagulated in my cupholder for the rest of the day. I figured maybe it was just that drink, so I come back a couple of weeks later and ordered a simple vanilla latte with nonfat milk, half sweet. As soon as I saw it, I knew the color was off. The barista was nice enough to add more milk, but it was still bitter, unbalanced, and didn't taste at all like vanilla. I've now had two completely opposite experiences, on total opposite ends of the spectrum. Neither good. The owner seemed genuinely nice when I met him, so I hate writing this. But I wish as much effort went into the coffee as goes into the decor, branding, and drink ideas. Both times I also waited 10 to 15 minutes for a single latte, which felt excessive. Ice "Pinkstachio Latte:" espresso, pistachio and pink hazelnut cream top iced for $7.50 and it was amazing! Very flavorful, smooth and not too sweet. When walking in it feels like you're transporting to a different world of cuteness overload. The store's decorum is so pretty and the soft pastels are eye-catching. On my first visit, I was able to try their banana bread latte and strawberry matcha latte. The banana bread latte is literally made with banana milk and tastes amazing. Excellent customer service at Cocoa + Cream. The sweet aroma of chocolate welcomes you as you walk into the shop. This sweet shop specializes in gelatos and chocolates. They also sell candies, gummies and coffee drinks. We bought sour gummy poppers, mocha latte, Coffee with Peruvian Chocolate gelato, Coffee with Strawberry Fudge Brownie and Vanilla Bean with Ube Mochi gelato. Enjoyed the mocha latte as you can taste the espresso without the mocha flavor overpowering the taste of coffee. Delicious flavored gelato as they were smooth, silky and not too sweet. It's awesome that they have vegan flavors, and the vegan flavors are quite good. I just wish they had at least one vegan cone option. Ice cream in a cup just isn't the same. There are about three tables inside if you want to hang out or get some work done, but there are no outlets inside, so make sure your devices are charged beforehand. There are more tables outside if you prefer sitting outdoors. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating! I was greeted very kindly when I walked in, and they even gave me a free banana dream matcha after accidentally making an extra drink instead of letting it go to waste, which I really appreciated. They also sell a bunch of cute items inside like candles, plushies, utensils, books, chocolates, and other small gifts, so it's a great place if you want to shop for yourself or pick up something cute for someone else. This quaint Gelato/Chocolate/Matcha drink shop checks all the boxes! The minute you step inside you are transformed into a magical experience. The customer service was top notch! I met a couple of the owners and they were all so welcoming and nice. I was able to sample several flavors of the gelato and decided to get a couple flavors to go. I could instantly tell that they use quality ingredients because the flavors have depth to them with a creamy decadent texture. They also have a a good variety of vegan choices to pick from. I also bought some chocolates to bring home and they also have some candy fish from Sweden which I also purchased to give as a gift. Chocolate was super delicious too! And if you need a gift for someone or a gift for yourself they also have a wall full of candles, glasses, ceramic items, stuffed animals, bagged candy and other goodies. The pricing in my opinion is comparable to a high quality ice cream/gelato shop. I always say you get what you pay for. Finally got a chance to stop in to Cocoa + Cream. It's such a fun and inviting space. The service was super friendly. Nick was patient with my son who wanted to sample the gelato flavors. We ordered a cookies and cream gelato and a Black Sesame Matcha. My son loved his gelato. The Black Sesame Latte was flavorful. Nice strong nutty black sesame flavor, and the matcha was potent enough to still make an appearance. If you like Black Sesame you would like the drink. Love this little coffee and gelato shop on Riverside Drive!! I happened by during the holiday market along Riverside Drive in Toluca Lake. We were in search of coffee and initially saw their page on Yelp. We kept walking and realized we ended up out front! They had a table to greet people walking by, which drew our attention. This place! I'm obsessed and can't wait to go back (might be today tbh)! From the moment we walked in it was a 10/10. It's bright and very welcoming inside. The staff invited us in right away and offered tips on what to get. We were coming in for coffee but they have gelato, chocolates and sweets, and super cute gifts (both edible and not)! The coffee/matcha menu does not disappoint. They have classic espresso beverages and matcha but to me it's the special and seasonal drink menu to check up. They have non-dairy and vegan options for drinks (classics like almond milk, oat milk, coconut milk , and even pistachio milk and macadamia nut milk). For coffee, I tried the iced salted maple latte with oat milk and it was so good! Not overly sweet but just the right balance and so smooth. My sister also got the iced salted maple latte and if you're not sensitive to dairy, it comes with a cold foam that she loved! My other sister tried the iced teddy gram latte (honey, vanilla, cinnamon) and it even had a teddy gram cracker on top and also had the cold foam. Would definitely order those again! If you're a gelato fan, they have lots of great flavors that are all high quality. My personal favorites were the coffee and vanilla, but they have lots to choose from including classic flavors and some fun ones with matcha, ube, etc. They also have multiple vegan gelato options that are fantastic. I personally liked the dark chocolate and banana nut flavors. The seasonal winter pear one was also really good. In the mood for dessert on a very warm day, my boyfriend looked up vegan friendly spots in the area just after we finished lunch and spending part of the day exploring the Last Bookstore - Studio City about a mile up (at Riverside Drive/Lankershim Blvd). We lucked into parking in front as most of this area in Toluca Lake is street parking with some exceptions for back lot parking depending on the business. It was plenty busy with a huge group celebrating a birthday, a few people grabbing some things to go and a set of friends catching up over via some of their signature Iced bevs. At C + C you can partake in Lattes, Teas and Coffees in hot or cold form. Their selection of candy and chocolate ranging from original Toffee, Bourbon Carmel and Peppermint Patties to White of Dark chocolate Pretzels, Gummy Watermelon, Gummy Mango and various things. And for the other star of the show aka their gelato you had so many options, including at least a half dozen of vegan/non-dairy based flavors. I ended up with a mix of Banana Nut Chip + Cookies & Cream. Best Vegan Gelato I've had to date. Bae (as they say) had a mash up of the Guava Sorbetto and one of their more traditional dairy based flavors. You can do a sample before your start your order for gelato and the service is a 10/10. Even with a big group in the mix they make sure to get to everyone. And while seating is limited to three tables inside, it makes the layout and flow very functional. Additional tables, chairs and even benches out front which had the weather been cooler we would've absolutely dined outdoors. We already agreed we'd be back for any occasion. The guys making things happen here are all attentive, thoughtful and personable. Open all days a week from 9am to 9pm, Sunday through Saturday. Extended hours until 10pm Friday and Saturday. Took a walk there today with my girlfriend for opening day. We were hopeful and the place did not dissapoint! I talked with the owers a bit and this has been a passion of theirs for some time. I tried the cardamom foam latte (iced), my GF had a matcha drink with something blue on top, lol. And I tried a classic pistachio gelato which hit just right. All of it is great and on the sweeter side, which is what you would want from a sweets place! The staff was very pleasant, my GF loved the music and vibe. We ended up buying the cutest teddy bear with bunny ears. Prices are on the more bespoke, higher side compared to say a Baskin Robbins... but the quality is so much better, and they are on par for the neighborhood. The location, close to foremans, TJs, and the soon to be Gelson's, cant be beat! A perfect date might be rolls at Yunomi or burger at Foreman's with a stroll and nightcap here. Oh, and I saw that you can get a donut stuffed with gelato! Diabetes here I come! I hope this place does great business for years to come. Glad they are part of our town! read more
