DO NOT USE THESE RIP OFF ARTISTS!! They love to charge a "diagnostic fee" which they will waive if the repairs are done there. Then they will an insane amount for the repair! Either way, they got ya!! These conmen wanted to charge over $400 for an alternator!! $400!!! Im waiting now to have my car towed out of here...minus $65! Stay away at all costs!! Update: Took my car to mikes tires on soledad. Tested my alternator, starter and battery for free. Told me it was just a bad cell in the battery. Who would of thought?!! Anyways, replaced battery and car is fine. Thanks LYIN'S auto center for taking my $65 bucks for the wrong diagnosis!! read more

I have used this shop before with my family vehicles with good results but this time I was overcharged to the amount of $300.00 for work on my older vintage vehicle the shop owner said would be a fair price, plus my newer pickup cover that was in great shape and not a spot on it now has a good size grease spot and now has to be replaced ($200.00) and then I had to spend 20 minutes with degreaser and a rag to remove greasy hand prints on the hood / front/.doors / sides etc. read more

Very honest mechanic shop. Hard to find one nowadays. I went in thinking I needed a brake job due tonsqueals and Harry came back and showed me the pads and said I don't need one yet. The pads are still good for at least 10k miles. I would definitely return and recommend. read more

I am astonished at the positive reviews. I've never used yelp before but felt obliged to give people a heads up about my experience here. I was referred to it because I am a AAA member, and I will be contacting AAA as well with this experience. I had my alternator replaced over the summer, and so its under warranty for a year. Since then, I have needed my alternator replaced THREE times (!!!). My car has been in the shop a total of three weeks between all of those repairs. After my alternator dying the fourth time, I decided to bring it to a different repair shop because it is clear Lyons Auto Center has not been fixing the problem. On top of the problem remaining, they were consistently rude, short and unclear to me about what was happening with car. The different repair shop I brought it to (a trusted, family owned business) suspects that Lyons Auto Center has not actually replaced my alternator at all, but has been pretending to do so, so that they don't have to front the money for the repairs (since its under warranty.) So essentially, my car has been in the shop a total of almost a month, with absolutely nothing being repaired and the problem not being solved. I have missed work, classes and spent money on rental cars during those times that my car was sitting in their shop not actually getting work done it. I am appalled and really upset about it. I hope no one else encounters this situation and I encourage you to be wary of this shop. read more

I've been on the look-out for a new mechanic to take care of my car. I found a free 14-point inspection coupon through AAA and decided to use it to see if I would be happy with Lyons Auto Center. I was very happy. Great service and nice people. I will be back in the future for my car's regular check-up and any service needed. Even my mail carrier told me I'd be happy with them and that they do great car washes if that is something I need. She uses Lyons Auto Center to maintain her car and told me she is always happy with what they do. I think I found my new mechanic. Brought my 2002 car here after my brother-in-law recommended Harry for speedy repair and reasonable rates. My car was running/idling rough. After inspection he said I needed to replace all the spark plugs and the valve cover gasket. $453.00 later, I drive my car home. One week later it does the EXACT same thing while on the freeway! I was praying to make it home without breaking down. I called Harry to tell him and he told me to bring it back and he wouldn't charge me to look at it. (Um, thanks?) I brought it back and then he tells me a cylinder is gone and it will be a minimum of $1500-$2,000. Are you kidding me? Why did he not see this the first time? Now I wasted $450.00 that I could have used on another car. He was going to charge me to deliver this wonderful news until I reminded him he said he wouldn't charge me. Absolutely the most honest and competent mechanics I have ever taken my vehicle (95 jeep Cherokee spot) to. Harry does not try to sell you work you do not need, he completes the work you ask for (if you need it), he recommends the work you will need and works with you to get it done. Some of the recommendations I received from a previous shop were totally unnecessary. Not only did Harry not do them, he explained and showed my husband and I why they were not needed and he was spot on with it. He also got rid of a horrible noise from my wheels and my A/C fan. Came in to have my ac recharged. Told the owner/boss guy that it was blowing just fine but it wouldn't stay cold. I asked him to recharge the system because that's all I had money for and I was told that was all it needed. He INSISTED (repeatedly) that I do another service @ $200+ because he "knew" the recharge wouldn't fix my issue and he hadn't even looked at my car. I told him I only had money to recharge the system and even that was pricey for me at the time. He continued to insist it wouldn't fix it. I told him lets just start there and see how it goes. I came back an hour or so later and my ac still wasn't blowing cold air for longer than a minute. He said serval times "when it doesn't work come back." I left and drove around in the miserable 110 heat until my next payday. Because I didn't like the way he spoke to me, I decided to go to this guy I see working on cars in his yard by my house for a second opinion. He recharged my ac and looked into it, he said that there was absolutely no oil in the system and that whoever had done the service before over loaded the system with coolant (?? I'm not car tech savvy obviously) My new best friend basically said that the guy who serviced my ac previously didn't do the basics of the service because he would've seen that it was in desperate need of lubrication. The man representing this business wanted me to pay him $200+ or he just wasn't going to fix my problem. I will never go back to this shop again and I hope I don't run into that man in public. read more

Harry and his crew consistently deliver honest and fair prices while providing excellent service that has remained the same for many years. On several occasions Harry has saved me money be fixing things that only need to be done and surprisingly, discouraged me from wasting money on uneeded work.
