My husband and I finally stopped by Mūmoo Cafe and can see why it's getting so much attention. The biggest highlight for me was definitely the Portuguese egg tarts. During their soft opening they were only $1 each, and By saturday during the grand opening they're just $1.30 each. If you buy a dozen, they still come out to only $1 apiece, which is an incredible value these days. The egg tarts were fresh out of the oven, with a light, flaky crust and a silky smooth custard filling. What I loved most was that they weren't overly sweet. The balance was just right, allowing the rich egg flavor to shine through without being overwhelming. I ended up wishing I had ordered more. For drinks, I tried the Strawberry Matcha, which was delicious. The sweetness of the strawberry complemented the earthy matcha perfectly, creating a refreshing and well-balanced drink that wasn't too heavy. MUST try everyone!!! I also ordered the Mango Pomelo Sago, and it did not disappoint. The mango flavor tasted fresh and natural, the pomelo added a nice citrusy brightness, and the sago pearls gave it a fun texture. It was creamy, refreshing, and a great dessert option, especially on a warm day. Another pleasant surprise was their combo deal. When you purchase a drink, you can add fries for only $3.85, making it easy to turn a quick snack run into a more filling treat without spending much. The cafe itself has a welcoming atmosphere, making it a nice place to catch up with friends, study, or simply enjoy a coffee and pastry. Between the affordable prices, quality drinks, delicious desserts, and amazing egg tarts, Mūmoo Cafe is definitely worth a visit. I'll be back soon to try more items on the menu. read more

Mumoo is a new dessert cafe in San Gabriel with a spacious interior and patio. They actually took over the Patisserie Too location across from Blossom Market Hall, and it looks like they carry some of the same desserts. After perusing the menu and dessert display, I ordered an Injeolmi latte with oatmilk ($7), earl grey Swiss roll ($3.25), cheese tart ($1.75), and a Portuguese egg tart ($1). The total came out to $14.37, which is pretty reasonable compared to other bakeries and cafes. The Swiss cake roll was light and fluffy and the tarts were tasty with their rich and silky custard fillings. The injeolmi latte captured the signature nutty and subtly sweet flavor the Korean drink is known for. Made with roasted soybean powder, it tastes similar to a roasted chestnut latte or toasty multigrain latte. 4 stars Mūmoo is the new business that took over this location since Patisserie Too moved. The interior and patio seating is very much the same with some added furniture. They still sell the $1 egg tarts here, which makes me wonder if it's still Patisserie, but a different branch of the business. I regret not asking more questions, but they were pretty busy when I was there. Anyways, I ordered the einspanner matcha ($6.50). I thought it tasted fine. I don't think it really stands out when there are so many matcha places around the area. However, I will say that this little shop is super dog-friendly, so that is always a positive in my book. Mūmoo is a new drink and pastries spot located across from Blossom Market Hall. They opend it three weeks ago and still in soft opening. They have cute panda and bear pastries with different flavors, cookies, crepe cake, swiss rolls, milk pudding, summer special sago, and egg tarts. For drinks menu, they have signature drinks, fruit series, coffee and tea series. The shop has a very nice outdoor seating. The staff were very nice. Jason told me that they will add new items for breakfast. The grand opening is not determined. I ordered many pastries and drinks. - Mango sago 4/5 It was nice but missing some taste. - sleeping panda 5/5 The panda looked so pretty. It was silky and the passion fruits complemented the taste. - grizzly bear 5/5 The mousse was rich, decadent, creamy and silky. It looked so cute. - Earl Grey Swiss roll 5/5 It was fluffy and rich in flavor. - cocoa matcha Swiss roll 5/5 It was fluffy chocolate swiss roll with matcha fillin. - vanilla mille crepe cake 3/5 The layers was easy to split. The taste was close to mochi than crepe. It was okay but not the perfect texture of crepe cake - Portuguese Egg tart 5/5 It was fresh,hot with rich and silky custard. Cute little cafe shop in San Gabriel! It's a nice spot to wfh from as it has a nice sun covering on the outside, and nice outdoor space for kids to roam around too. We ordered the matcha latte and Spanish latte, and while both weren't bad, I feel there could use bit more work on the taste profile. They had more of a milky flavor so the matcha and flavor of the espresso sort of got lost. We didn't have a chance to try their desserts but they looked tasty. read more

Checked out Mūmoo Cafe in San Gabriel, taking over the old Patisserie Too location. The space feels modern and cozy, and their menu has a huge selection of drinks and desserts at very reasonable prices. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee and really enjoyed it. It was bold, sweet, and had a strong coffee flavor without tasting watered down. For desserts, the cakes reminded me of a mix between Patisserie Too and Grace and Wheat, which makes sense since they're all around the same area. The flavors were solid across the board and not overly heavy. The highlight for me was actually the mango sago dessert. It wasn't too sweet and reminded me of the mango pudding with evaporated milk you get at dim sum restaurants. Super refreshing and a nice balance after the coffee. Definitely a nice cafe spot if you're in the SGV area and want drinks plus desserts without spending too much. read more

Located right across the street for SG Mission Playhouse and Blossom Market Hall but they have a parking lot right behind their store too. I especially love how study-friendly the environment is with plenty of outdoor seating, and several tables indoors. Workers were really friendly and helped with giving recommendations. My friend and I tried their strawberry matcha and Spanish latte along with their egg tarts. The strawberry matcha was solid with a good balance of matcha flavor and strawberry bits. I love the vibe here because you can sit outside and enjoy the perfect amount of shade with the outdoors, or you can go in the sunny spots if you love to get the full sun. They have Wi Fi. however, if you sit outside, the Wi Fi doesn't really work really well, um, because I had trouble connecting. And they also have an indoor, and they have very cute cakes. Definitely come here to try their cakes. Their cream cheese tarts are really yummy. I didn't think they used high grade quality matcha. I tried the matcha einspatter. Um, definitely more oxidized, lower quality matcha. still decent, but not what I'm used to when I get it in Orange County. And they're Dalgonda coffee is not too sweet. Saw this on IG and knew I had to try it. Bought the $1 Portuguese egg tart, cheese tart, chocolate and cocoa matcha Swiss roll, mango sago dessert, plus a Vietnamese coffee. The coffee was a little too sweet for my taste, but the rest of the desserts and pastries were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, especially the egg tart, Swiss rolls, and mango sago. Both of my sons loved all of them and already told me we need to come back again next time. My friend brought me a drink and some egg tarts from here the other day, and both tasted pretty good! The drink was the Kiwi Sparkling Soda. It tasted almost like an Airheads candy in drink form. Although the flavor was strong, it was a little bit too sweet, so I would recommend getting less sugar if you do get it. I also think you need to really mix the drink for each sip because the drink slowly got more bitter as I finished more of it. This is because the rinds from the lime slices floating at the top made the top of the cup more bitter than the bottom. That being said, there was a moment in the middle where the bitterness met the sweetness that made for an interesting flavor that I really enjoyed! The egg tarts were smooth and structurally sound. I didn't find that many flakes threatening to fall, which is exactly what I'm looking for in an egg tart. No notes. They were great. read more

The cashier didn't ask me how sweet I wanted. Found out drink was made with 100% sweetness when I picked up the drink. Turns out, it wasn't very sweet. Thank goodness. It was just right for me. Not bad. Would order again. Spanish Latte (hot) 4/5 $6. 100% sweetness. Alright. Drinkable. It's fine, but didn't stand out from all the other Spanish Lattes I've tried. My wife and I got three different slices of cake here. These cakes tasted awful and were extremely dry, as if they were a couple days old. I saw the matcha mille crepe cake and thought it looked good so I ordered it and they picked the one way in the back that looked the worst instead of the good looking ones near the front of the display. Fishy practice. The to-go containers are also too small for the crepe cake slices and caused them to tilt and spill, although the regular rainbow cake stood upright. Very disappointing. Lots of much better excellent bakeries around the SGV! I want to support them but when it's this bad it's impossible. read more

It's such a clean and big place. It's perfect to study in, they have WiFi and plenty of space outside as well. It's perfect to grab a drink and dessert after a meal or somewhere to sit and flap your gums with your girlfriends. We got the injolmi latte and it was soooooo yummy!!!! Amazing place to wfh! There's plenty of indoor/outdoor seating and wifi with various dessert/drink options. They have a breakfast combo of a ham & cheese croissant and latte for about 10 dollars which is very affordable. I ended up getting it with their $1 egg tart so my total ended up being $12 after tax. They have an enclosed patio with a lot of empty tables and chairs. They also have a self serve water station! I personally enjoy more savory pastries and the chairs could be more comfortable. Otherwise, highly underrated spot and can see myself being a regular. read more

I came here randomly since I was walking by and saw the patio area was so big and nice. I came to do some work on my laptop and got the Vienna latte and 2 egg tarts. The tarts were DELICIOUS and only $1 each. The Vienna was good, I wish they had more of a variety for their coffees but overall it was a good experience. The workers are super nice and sweet. Came here for the first time, we got egg tarts, matcha einspanner and hot americano. The egg tarts were good, but unfortunately the drinks weren't to my expectations. It's not pictured, but the matcha einspanner was really clumpy at the bottom. I like to sip my matcha einspanner with a straw, to occasionally mix my drink. But when I took my first sips, they had big clumps of matcha. Usually matcha clumps don't bother me, but there was a lot and it was bigger clumps. I saw that they batch made the matcha in advance so I'm not sure why the matcha was clumpy, esp bc the made it beforehand :(. I definitely didn't come here expecting them to hand whisk their matcha to every order but the clumps definitely impacted the taste. The hot americano wasn't hot either, I saw that they were finished with the hot americano first so they put out the hot americano on the counter while they were making the matcha einspanner. So it was out on the counter for a while before our entire order was ready. The staff were friendly and they were busy. You could tell it was hectic on their end, they were running around trying to serve everyone. I'm not sure if it's bc they recently opened, but you could definitely tell they were working things out. They didn't give out numbers or a receipt to me when I was at the cashier, but they were calling out numbers for the drinks which was a bit confusing. read more

Very chill n welcoming spot...took the family there for dessert and everything we tried was very delicious. I had the injeolmi latte which was very tasty n not too sweet (the ultimate Korean/Asian compliment) and paired it with the egg tart which definitely has to be one of the best ones I've ever tried. So much so my 4 y/o took down two himself then took advantage of their huge outdoor courtyard area to run around (which btw would be a great spot for an event or a small gathering of sorts)...beautiful spot, chill vibes, n friendly owners n staff...definitely a repeat customer for those egg tarts but also to try others stuff on the menu which actually looked really good as well read more
