There is a promo on Doordash currently - 45% off orders $15+! Amazing deal! Got the Scallion Pancake Chicken Wrap Supreme ($14.50) was pretty good. It consisted of a house made scallion pancake with chicken tender, egg, cabbage, Thai basil, and cheese. It looked pretty small similar to a snack wrap but it was very filling. The chicken tender was similar to popcorn chicken. Wished it was more crispy since it seemed pretty dry and not much of a crunch. The pancake was a bit bland but I enjoyed that it wasn't as oily as scallion pancake usually is at other places. Overall, I felt like this was slightly overpriced but it was worth trying! The Black Sesame Matcha ($8.50) was amazing! I got it in large so that was extra $1. Requested it with regular ice, half sweet, and oat milk and really enjoyed that it wasn't packed with ice and not overly sweet. It's nice that they don't charge extra for milk substitutions! The matcha tasted very rich in flavor and I could tell they most likely use ceremonial quality matcha. The sesame was very nutty and really enjoyed that they make it in-house. This was definitely one of my favorite drinks! NOTE: it's very important to give it a good stir prior to drinking otherwise the sesame just sinks on the bottom! The Lychee Pear Blossom ($8) was so good! I got it half sweet with regular ice and it was just the right amount of sweetness and ice! Loved how they use fresh lychee and pear with no artificial colors or flavor! This drink was very refreshing and fruity! The green tea wasn't too overpowering and made the drink even more enjoyable! Overall, I really enjoyed my drinks and the wrap was ok. The prices are slightly higher than other cafes but it's nice that they use real fruits without any artificial flavors or colors unlike many other places!
I went to Bopomofo Cafe in San Gabriel recently. I got the Brown Sugar Pudding Milk Tea. It was a bit too sweet for me. Also, the pudding felt oddly placed in it. The brown sugar boba added to the drink was okay. I thought also the drink is a bit pricey.
I always like bopomofo. They have a great variety of drinks and my favorite is the black sesame. They also have corn milk, which is not very common. Tonight they're having a 62626 event with complementary California rolls from Yama sushi some Dubai chocolate and delicious ice cream from 626. Come by and enjoy the mah jong tables outside too

Even though it was pricey, for $13 you get a lot of popcorn chicken, enough that it can be shared between two people if you wanted. I also got the Black Sesame Matcha and modified the sweetness. It was perfect! The service was quick, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only thing is that the prices seemed a bit steep/expensive, but the quality was really good.
So, I appreciate that they made sure my shrimp burger had no onions since I'm allergic to them. But unfortunately, it needed more flavor and sauce. I was so disappointed because I've had it multiple times before and it was delicious. It seemed like an off day in general when I went on March 21st because the drinks also weren't up to their usual standards. The pear lychee tea didn't have lychee flavor. Great pear and jasmine flavor though. And the orange wang was strangely bitter! I've had it before and it wasn't like that! Good tater tots though, fresh and crispy. Service was friendly as always. Bummer that things weren't as great as usual. Hoping next time I visit it's good.
4 years later, and Bopomofo is probably my favorite boba and tea spot! Mainly because they now offer seating and are not exclusively to-go. I like to come here with my laptop, tablet, and journal to "lock in," and I often get a lot done. I'm currently writing this on a Wednesday afternoon (around 2:45 PM) in June, and it is not busy at all. Some people are sitting and working on their computers, but the parking lot is pretty much empty. Probably the emptiest I've seen it (and it gets very very busy). The wifi wasn't working when I arrived. My devices were connecting to the network, but nothing was loading, and I kept getting those "Check your connection" messages. There was a male staff member checking in on everyone, so I asked about the wifi. He checked and said they restarted the router, and shortly, I was able to connect and be online! So thank you :) Drinks are still unique. Every once in a while, there are special deals and discounts and seasonal drinks of course. I'm glad to see they made the black sesame matcha a permanent addition to the menu, because it often sold out quickly during spooky season. Still recommend Bopomofo. I haven't been to any of their other locations, but it's nice to see them expand. Congrats btw! I hope they come out with a rewards loyalty program tho.
5/11/2026 and few times before this visit Update: so glad that they finally change their store policy and let me order to-go matcha lattes without ice. Kudos Bopomofo! Can't wait for your other branches opening!

The nori fish sandwich is pretty good too but doesn't hit as hard as the shrimp burger. The strawberry corn milk is very unique and one of my favorites here. The taste is definitely for someone who enjoys the flavor of corn but it's not overpowering. The ba-la matcha is guava matcha which is also good. Food and drinks came out quick, no complaints there. Staff were all nice. The interior has seating and it's nicely lit with the windows.

Then I checked out their website and saw they had a fish sandwich featured by the LA Times... yeah, that definitely got my attention. So I went. Right away, the menu surprised me--in a good way. I noticed they had a shrimp burger, and since I just got back from Japan (and was still thinking about that McDonald's shrimp burger), I had to try it here. Order came out in under 10 minutes, which honestly isn't bad at all for how busy the area gets. First bite of the shrimp burger? Immediate happiness. Like, loud "mmmmm" type of happiness. For $15, you expect something solid--and it delivered. The patty was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and the pickled jalapeños gave it a nice kick. Then that honey wasabi yuzu sauce came in with a sweet, tangy balance that just tied everything together. Not gonna lie... I liked this more than the one I had in Japan. Then came the fish sandwich. And wow. I'm pretty sure the fish is wrapped in nori, which already levels it up. Super crispy, tangy, a little sweet, a little creamy--just everything you want in one bite. It's one of those sandwiches where you immediately think, "Yeah, I could easily eat two of these." This place is seriously that good. What makes it even crazier? My best friend lives like two blocks away, and I've been in that area so many times without realizing I was this close to something this good. Safe to say--I'll definitely be back. Probably way too often.
Always coming back to this spot for its strawberry corn milk! The corn and strawberry make it sweet enough so 25-50% sweetness level is good. The plaza itself is small parking-wise but they have a nice handful of non-caffeine options and a few tables inside. If you're feeling snackish I've also tried their mapo tots and popcorn chicken, a little pricey for the tots ($14) but very tasty and they always try to come up with new seasonal items!
The review is for the food since that's all i ordered! Came yesterday & got the spicy popcorn chicken & the hainan chicken tacos! ($32 total including tip) The star was the hainan chicken tacos!! I wanted to try it since it was something I've never seen before & it was delicious! I took it home to eat & the tortilla didn't get soggy & the flavor surprisingly works! The chicken is very tender too! Popcorn chicken was great in flavor too but wasn't not crunchy. I really liked it but the texture was not there. I like how they have the option for light or dark meat & spicy level still had flavor & wasn't just spicy seasoning on top, it was well coated.
The table that we sat at had food debris on it. Mentioned to the staff, came over with a bucket and a towel, and wiped the table. There was a lot of water left after wiping. It would have been a waste of paper napkins if we tried cleaning it ourselves, so we let it air dry. Probably took us about 15 min for the table to truly dry. At the table, the sitting area along the walls in the corner were not comfortable for long durations. They do have outlets below the sitting area to charge laptops in case you choose to do remote work there. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was quiet, not too busy. Besides the wet table, the one thing that bothered us the most was the light fixture on the wall. It was going through so many light phases that I thought there was something going on with the electrical. Food was interesting, and having a shrimp patty was intriguing.
Tasty drinks, great service, even better popcorn chicken! We got the original flavor dark meat, I wish it can be a mix/match with breast and dark for the popcorn but all good. The chicken is well seasoned and the dipping sauce was yum. We got the hot coffee milk, latte and a roasted oolong tea. Nice to know they use lactose free milk and you have the option to choose oat milk as an alternative, for a fee. EDIT: oat milk as an alternative, for free! My mistake - I must have misheard. Thanks owners!! The space and the restroom were clean but you do need a code to use their restroom. Glad to visit a Taiwanese business while in town. Tasty beverages and food! read more

I was a little disappinted in the trip today. Triped the supreme chicken wrap and i think the lettuce threw off the wrap. It wouldve been better without it but thats my preference. I usually love honey walnut shrimp burger but today it just tasted like a shrimp burger. It didnt have that honey walnuty taste like before. Popcorn chicken was good though. Glad it was still the same. I love the basil aioli. I also go the vegan popcorn chicken for my vegetarian aunt and it wasnt bad although i prefer real meat. She can eat that one all by herself. My drinks were a little underwhelming i think id stick with the starwberry basil lemonade. I got the strawberry lychee breeze and even after mixing//stiring the drink. It didnt feel refreshing. The lychee pudding or the white stuff was warm no matter how long it sat in the drink. The honey latte felt like it was mostly milk as well and not enough coffee. read more

Usually never in this area, but are big fans of Bopomofo and frequent the Artesia location, we decided to try out the OG location as we were craving popcorn chicken! Unfortunately our first batch of the original popcorn chicken was sour like it had been sitting in the marinade for too long, and was also served to us a bit cold :( The spicy popcorn chicken wasn't bad but also a bit lukewarm, but we liked it more than the sour one. After usually eating at the Artesia location and trying it here i was super disappointed just because of the quality. We did tell the staff and fortunately they were super nice and understanding and helped us replace it and the new batch tasted way better! I love bopomofo and appreciate the nice staff for helping us out with this issue! read more

We finished dinner a couple blocks away and made our way to Bopomofo Cafe for a post-dinner sweet treat. This was my first time at the cafe, and the interior was well-decorated and comfortable, with neon lights adorning the space. The barista was friendly and helpful while I was deciding what to order. HEY SESAME MILK - 6.50 This is a lactose-free milk-based drink with a black sesame and honey paste mixed in. I asked for 75% sweetness since my cousin warned me that the regular level would be too much. The black sesame was incredibly hard to mix thoroughly, even though I was aggressively stirring my straw for a couple minutes. Overall, the drink was pretty good despite not mixing well. The black sesame flavor was incredibly roasty and nutty, but there could have been be a bit more of it. The honey was slightly overpowering. Bopomofo has an extensive menu featuring modern twists on traditional milk tea and coffee drinks, with fun flavors like strawberry corn milk and carrot matcha latte. There's also plenty of Taiwanese street food options, with mapo tots being one of their most popular items. If I'm ever at Bopomofo again, I'd definitely want to try some of their food as well. read more

Bopomofo is an SGV icon serving up great boba and Taiwanese-inspired eats. I stopped by recently with some friends and we got the 2 for $14 large Ba-la (guava) matchas, spicy popcorn chicken, braised pork belly over rice, and the mapo tots. The guava matcha was such a refreshing drink, and I got mine unsweetened as the guava nectar is sweetened already. The spicy popcorn chicken was so addictive and flavorful and comes with a Thai chili aioli. I like that for their popcorn chicken you can choose between white meat and dark meat. We loved the braised pork belly dish, it was so hearty and comforting, and I only wish the portion size was a little bigger! This was also my first time trying the mapo tots, which is a very sharable dish. It comes with mapo tofu, ground, pork, and cheese! Parking is pretty easy in the strip mall which is a plus. read more

My only complaint about bopomofo is that it is too far from my house! i've been a couple times and always appreciate seeing what new fruity thing is on the menu. This last time I had the guava oolong. It was really good! My only proble is that there are too many things for me to try in one go. I also love the mapo tots and spicy popcorn chicken. Food was great! We had their most common sandwiches on the menu; the fish sandwich and the shrimp sandwich. Both were delicious We also had a strawberry basil ginger lemonade & a lychee tea with jelly Service was fairly quick. The gentleman at the counter made great suggestions. The ambiance was ok. Parking at 6:30 PM on a Tuesday was pretty easy! Ordered the nori fish sandwich as part of the Yama × Bopo Special ($2 off March 9-12 if you get the $6 sashimi from Yama next door). I had half my sandwich without the salmon--it's a delicious elevated version of the filet of fish. The cod is flaky and juicy, the cheese is melty, and the bun is buttery. The onion cuts into the fried batter nicely without being overpowering. The nori flavor could be stronger imo. Also, the sandwich is decently filling. There's seating both inside and outside. I waited about 20 minutes although the initial estimate from the staff was 10, but I noticed a lot of people ordered pick-up so I'll probably do that next time to minimize wait. Will be back for other menu items--love the creativity! read more

First time trying Bopomofo! Drinks are super good and well made. We got the Orange Wang and the Nami Matcha. Orange Wang is very tart and refreshing. The Nami Matcha was very florally and the matcha flavor was really good. Popcorn chicken might be the best in the game. Super flavorful and spicy. We got all dark meat and it was delicious. Definitely try the popcorn chicken when you come here! Bopomofo is a little pricy but it's definitely worth it! read more

I have tried many drinks and some food items from Bopomofo. From my experience, I think the tea drinks are pretty good quality and creative. The reason I can't give this place 5 stars is because of the food. Honey Walnut Shrimp Burger: Includes a shrimp patty, honey-wasabi-yuzu sauce, candied walnuts, pickled jalapenos, red onion, and shredded romaine lettuce. For the price, I just wasn't impressed. I've had better shrimp burgers before that were cheaper. The portion size was quite small as well. Taiwanese Fried Chicken Sandwich: Mediocre chicken sandwich. It contains a fried chicken breast filet, napa cabbage slaw, Thai basil aioli, and cucumbers. The chicken needed to be cooked longer in my opinion. My favorite thing about this was the bolo buns. Spicy Popcorn Chicken: This was not any better than other popcorn chicken I've had elsewhere. I like the option to be able to choose between white meat or dark meat. I wanted a mild seasoning, but this turned out to be way too spicy. I could not eat more than one piece. It comes with a Thai chili aioli sauce on the side. Orange Wang!: Super creamy and milky with a mix of citrus and vanilla flavors. This is one of my partner's favorite beverages ever. Ba-La Matcha - A refreshing drink with quality ceremonial matcha. I love the guava nectar. Make sure to mix your drink well to taste the tropical and matcha flavors together. This store location is pretty small. During peak hours, it can feel crowded and stuffy inside, so I prefer coming here for takeout. I like that they offer online ordering. The shared parking lot here is also small. read more

I had to visit the iconic Bopomofu, as a long-time fan of Wong Fu YouTube videos! Ambiance is fast-casual with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, sprinkled with elements of neon lights and elements of iconic Taiwanese night markets. The food was not amazing, but not bad. We got the braised pork rice and the original popcorn chicken with white meat (each about $15-20). The pork rice lacked strong flavor and the pork-to-rice ratio was less than ideal, and the popcorn chicken with white meat with original seasoning tasted dry. It seems as though their more popular items on the menu are their sandwiches. Their drinks, on the other hand, were spectacular. I'm a huge fan of matcha and wasn't expecting too much since it's not a matcha place, but was pleasantly surprised by their wide array of flavors and deep-green appearance! I opted for the strawberry seasonal and their blueberry matcha lattes - both spectacular and comparable to the Blank Street matcha counterpart! Only thing is that you cannot change the ice levels. Finally got to try this place! I've been meaning to come here for a long time and finally got the chance. The service here is quick. Lots of hardworkers here for sure. Decent space to sit down and eat, study, chat, etc. The one major downside is parking. It's a nightmare here. Golden Deli is in the same parking lot and there is always a line out the door so I think that's a big reason behind it. This place has more than just drinks, they also have popcorn chicken, sandwiches, burgers, and even tacos. I only had an appetite for a drink so I got the orange Wang. The name stood out to me and it was an unusual option given most people probably get their milk tea (I assume). But I wasn't disappointed at all! If you like the drink called orange bang, then you will love this one. It's basically their version of it and it's delicious! They use real orange juice. It's been 6 years since my initial review, so it's time for an update. Not surprised that I still love this place. Drink: My favorite is still the strawberry corn milk w/ 50% sweetness (though my wife thinks corn isn't meant to be in a liquid, lol). Food: The vegetarian popcorn chicken is fantastic. Crisp, great flavor, and comes with Thai basil aioli. We also tried the Hainan chicken tacos for the first time today, and we were super impressed. I may have to roll these into my regular rotation. It was a nice balance of picked vegetables, chicken, and whatever that sauce was on top. In terms of service, everyone is super nice. They are a popular spot, so I'd expect a little wait. So good!! Stopped by Bopomofo on the way back home to the bay area- and got the bala matcha and dirty matcha. The drinks were so refreshing!! before getting our drinks, staff hand delivered about food, and were so welcoming and nice! For the scallion pancake, I do think it was missing some basil or garlic sauce in the wrap. For mapo tofu, it was well seasoned, and the tots were very crispy!!! Bopomofo consistently cranks out some of the best boba in the LA county area, and on top of that, has an awesome rotating seasonal menu of food items from boba shop classics like popcorn chicken, to sleeper hits like the nori fish sandwich. The cafe itself is a great place to hang out or work in -- there's free wifi, it's consistently clean, parking is free and plentiful, and the service is great (they'll even remake your drink if it's not up to par). Here's what I ordered (and my go-to order recently): Orange Wang ($8) = $6.25 (base drink) + $1(upgrade to large) + $.75(add boba): Their take on Orange Bang. At first, I was honestly worried and thought, "Are they trying to challenge my review?" I usually leave positive reviews, but once I wrote an honest review after being served a completely cold hamburger at another restaurant in Pasadena, and that restaurant filed a complaint that resulted in my review being removed. Because of that experience, I was concerned this might become a similar situation. Bopomofo Cafe continues to impress. The bBack sSsame Latte was super creamy, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet--deeply nutty and comforting, almost like sipping tong sui in latte form. The Nori Fish Sandwich completely surprised me. It was light, piping hot, crispy without being oily, and incredibly satisfying--even for someone who usually avoids seafood. Major win. And the Honey Butter Tots? Absolutely addictive. Perfectly crispy tots coated in a flavor profile reminiscent of walnut shrimp, but with a subtle spicy kick that keeps you going back for more. There website is always broken. You have to go there in person and order there. No work around.

no they don't have a phone number because of how busy it gets. terrible if u have to cancel an order, i had to drive all the way over there!
Are you no longer taking postmates orders? All of my orders in two days on separate occasions keep getting cancelled.
There's no way to order in person so I think that may be why your orders are being cancelled.
