    Golden Buns with Condensed Milk
    Winn H.

I've been longing for one of these dessert places since my last trip to Hong Kong, and I'm so glad to have stumbled upon it. Parking is fairly easy to find here, and the space inside is very spacious, bright, and relaxing. The staff were welcoming and patient while we were deciding our order, since some items were unique for us. We had their Signature Coconut Jelly Dessert Soup and Golden Buns with Condensed Milk. The dessert soup was indeed a treat with so many goodies inside. It's definitely on the pricier end but filled with so many unique toppings. My favorite was the heart-shaped goodie! The golden buns are a classic, and they were indeed tasty here, too.

I was in the area visiting my cousin and we were craving something semisweet, filling, & leaning more towards the healthy side. We scrolled through YELP, & landed on JIU JIU Dessert. Looking through the photos of savory treats we both agreed we wanted to try the Mango Sago beverage and a bowl of the diced fruit with jelly. It's definitely the perfect amount of sweetness without it being overbearingly sweet; it was everything we expected and we'll be back in the future when I visit my family again.

This new dessert location has delicious treats that are not too sweet and many choices to choose from. The tropical features of these desserts make it healthy and requires less sugars to provide the sweet and savory nature of the desserts. When served, a small heart is on each dessert and slowly melts with each scoop you take. I guess it literally melts your heart!

First time coming here and will not be coming back, as I have been scarred. Checked out this place with friends due a friend's recommendation and the place looked really popular as there were lots of people. Unfortunately, the desserts here gave us the runs. Out of 5 of us, 4 got very sick shortly that night and the days after. TMI, but it was frequent trips to the restroom. We're pretty sure and deduced it was from the dairy-based desserts and drinks. I had the mango pomelo sago drink. Friend A ordered the mango pomelo sago drink and black sesame soup. Friend B ordered the mango sago. Friend C had the milk tea. And we all ended up with stomach issues. Friend D who didn't eat any milk-based items, only yashixiang lemon tea and some of Friend A's black sesame soup , was completely fine. We also ordered a signature coconut jelly dessert soup to-go for another friend when we were leaving, and they had no issues either. That's why we think it was the batch of milk used in our desserts that caused all of this. It honestly had us going to the bathroom for 2 days! If you're coming here, just be aware--you might end up spending a lot of time in the restroom like we did.

Found this little gem after dinner one night and will definitely be coming back! They have a variety of Chinese desserts similar to Meet Fresh. Got the Signature coconut jelly dessert soup and something off the Peach Gum Series. The Signature Coconut Jelly Dessert Soup was my favorite and I was amazed by how many ingredients they put within the bowl. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the Peach Gum series - probably because I wasn't use to the taste and texture of the peach gum. I initially wanted the black sesame dessert but they were sold out of it that evening. Hopefully they'll have it when I visit next time!

Jiu Ji Dessert I stopped in here to try something refreshing and went with the mango pomelo sago. It was an okay dessert overall, but it definitely suffered from the fact that mangos are not in season right now. The fruit just wasn't that sweet or as flavorful as you'd want it to be, which made the whole dish feel a bit underwhelming. Even though this specific order was a bit of a miss, the rest of the menu looks pretty interesting. There are plenty of other desserts there that seem like they are worth a try, so I would probably come back to explore more of their traditional options when I'm in the mood for something sweet again. Good flavors but mango was not in season

This has been my favorite dessert spot in SGV. They offer a wide variety of delicious, healthier dessert options--and the best part, everything is reasonably priced. The space isn't very big, but it's cute and cozy. Every visit feels like a chance to explore something new from the menu, whether dining in or grabbing it to go. This time, the Mango Sago in Coconut Milk was the pick, and the mango portion was impressively generous. The flavor hits that perfect balance of sweet with a slight tang. The staff are pretty chill and helpful when it comes to explaining items on the menu. They also have snacks and light meals that pair well with their drinks and desserts. Definitely a go-to spot when in the area!

    |[ s w e e t ? ]| I'll preface by saying it's not bad and def hits the cravings for an authentic Cantonese/Chinese dessert! Problem is, I like my desserts not too sweet so I wish there were sugar-free or not so sweet options. |[ w h a t i g o t ]| I got the signature taro balls and grass jelly very good but too sweet for my taste buds 3/5. Presentation was pretty, and I like their bowls. |[ y e e ]| Average Asian dessert shop seating ambiance and service was fine. I'd come back if one of my friends wants to come but unless they can adjust down/off the sugar, I prob wouldn't crave this by myself lol.

The signature coconut jelly dessert soup was lightly sweet and had a variety of Asian household pantry essentials, but the portion is extremely small. The bowl is tiny and I personally don't think it was sweet enough

Long line on a Saturday! We got the jiu ji plus and the taro balls and grass jelly dessert to go. There was a long line ordering and it took a while. I think it's because the menu isn't super descriptive. There are 3 items that have a list of ingredients on a separate menu at the counter. They should list those ingredients on the menu because I have a feeling a lot of people ask "what's in the jiu ji plus?" And then they have to decide if the want to exclude ingredients and that slows down the line. After ordering it's about 15 min to get the order. When we were there the lady was yelling out order numbers only in Mandarin and it wasn't super loud so it's very easily missed if you're not hovering over the counter or speak mandarin! As for the desserts, they were pretty good. It's sweet and you can't adjust sweetness. I like the crunch the nuts give. We saved some for the next day but the taro balls become super hard so eat those the same day! I would come back to the mango ones.

Jiu Ji Dessert (九记八方甜品)- I WOULD COME BACK AGAIN 100% 5/5 Incredible customer service! I mean the workers are constantly working hard cleaning tables, taking orders, managing phone orders and customer service in general. Not to mention, they pulled out a chair to offer us a seat while we wait (above and beyond) 5/5 Food - Mango pomelo sago - PERFECTLY balanced, not too sweet and mangos were just right! - Toast cubes and golden buns - SAME AS ABOVE 4/5 Parking Can be very difficult since the shopping complex is quite busy

Stopped by Jiu Jiu Dessert in Alhambra last Thursday around 3 pm with a few friends and it was packed, which is always a good sign. Our server was super helpful and recommended the Mango Pomelo Sago and the Signature Coconut Jelly Dessert Soup. She also suggested the hot Taro Red Bean Sago with coconut milk. We ended up trying all three. All of them were perfectly sweet. Not overly sugary, just balanced and refreshing. The Mango Pomelo Sago was light and fruity, great for a warm day. The hot Taro Red Bean Sago with coconut milk was comforting and smooth, especially if you're craving something warm. But our favorite was definitely the Signature Coconut Jelly Dessert Soup. The texture of the coconut jelly with the creamy base just worked so well together. It stood out the most and is something I would come back specifically for. The ambiance was modern and clean, with soft Chinese pop music playing in the background. Even though it was busy, there was ample seating, so we didn't feel cramped. Parking can be a bit challenging since the lot is shared with a supermarket and other restaurants, so expect to circle around a bit during peak hours. Overall, a great dessert spot with solid recommendations from the staff. I'll definitely be back to try more from their menu.

So yummy! I tried two things: the Signature Coconut Jelly Dessert Soup, which I got so I can try all the different toppings they offer. They all tasted great together and I loved the little heart jelly. Not too sweet. I also got the Cube Toast which was fun to eat. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Drizzled with evaporated milk. Yum!

Is the Sesame Paste with Rice Balls Vegan?

I believe most of the desserts and drinks are vegan unless stated fresh milk or uses condensed milk. I had asked when I was there and my dessert had coconut milk. You would have to ask the lady taking your order or give them a call to be certain.

The last few times I've ordered the kung pao chicken, it barely had any veggies. It used to come with a mix of colorful bell peppers, but now it's mostly onions. The sweet and sour fish used to be lightly battered and nice and meaty. On my last visit, it was heavily battered and you could barely taste the fish. Flavoring was good and the e-fu noodles were decent. Portions were generous too. The seafood soup was okay, it felt more like an instant soup vs the traditional soups that were made overnight. The ong choy with beancurd was a gigantic portion and well stir-fried. The Vietnamese style filet mignon was tasty. Beef was tender, fragrant, and flavorful. Service by the staff was good. First, parking was so difficult!! So many cars crammed close to each other and the restaurant wasn't even full, but we parked in the street nearby. The place had plenty of seating when we arrived, spacious tables that fit our group of 16. We had a large party and split into two tables, each table had peanuts and tea, we also ordered our own bit with the same serve at the same time. We ordered our usual dishes such as corn soup, honey walnut shrimp, salt and pepper squid, sal and pepper pork chops, filet beef dish, hainan chicken and many more. The service seemed slow, the bad part is that our other table got all their dishes while we had none. It took a while before our first dish arrived which was honey walnut shrimp, it was good, a bit soggy but flavorful. We asked for rice and started eating, once most of the shrimp was gone the rest of the dishes came. They were delicious, they tasted great and had good portions. The pork chop was great fresh but soon started to get tough as it cooled. The fried squid had parts that were very seasoned and some bland. My sister in law ordered a seafood tofu dish that was the best one but we ate everything before I took a photo. We also shared dishes across the tables to try out our orders. I tried the fried crab but it had more garlic than crab! The restroom was the sad part, there was no toilet paper, and no paper towels. The women's restroom door was propped wide open as well. I had to call my sister to bring in napkins for me... Overall a great meal, we may come back if the occasion allows.
