I was concerned I had animals in an attic. The tech came out the same day, and I liked him and his assistant. I agreed to pay $500 to set traps in our attic to try to catch critters that were living there. I was told the company would set multiple traps that Saturday, return Monday to seal the entry point into the attic and check the traps, and would return again Friday to make sure there were no other animals. They returned Monday, sealed the hole, and found a possum in a trap. They then pulled ALL traps. I was confused and asked for a call because I had been told that they would come back again later that week to check traps one more time. I did not receive a call. I instead received emails telling me that I had received all services that I paid for (not true). I let her know that I had been told there would be another follow up. I was told that I was wrong about that, and that if there was another animal in the attic, it would have been captured in one of the other traps. I asked that if they didn't plan to come back out, I would like a partial refund. They refused. I hoped at that point that she knew what she was talking about in terms of them catching all the animals. That night, my son heard another animal. I had to pay another pest control company $450 to set three more traps. I had them set Friday (the last day M & M was supposed to return). The second possum was trapped either that night or the next morning, and removed that day. If M & M had left the other traps as agreed, I would have saved this money. I emailed the service rep to let her know that there was another animal upstairs. I figured she might be interested because she is the one who told me that there was no reason to leave the traps because the other animal would have been caught. She never replied. The owner offered me a free pest control spray as a service special when Covid had just started. The receptionist, Kelsey, to who this review is entirely intended for, tried to send infected workers to my home a week after they had just tested positive. If you follow the email, she schedules me in THEN talks about her workers only "testing" when I probe into their actual diagnosis. I told her I'd wait and hoped that she would send a "notice of infection" to customers for possible contact tracing procedures. I never saw an email broadcast alerting customers of possible exposure nor did I get a response to that email about it being a concern AT. ALL. Fast forward a couple of months, I email to schedule again. The date is set and then I get a text message a day or so before the appointment saying my appointment was cancelled due to illness and that I had to reschedule again. Fine. I emailed again a week later because the text message prior denoted "illness" and not "covid" -- to which I hope if the illness was actual covid then they would have specifically typed "covid" but who knows anymore? Anyway, she sends a one-word response "Wednesday." No date. No time block to be available. Now it's already past 4 pm on my service call. I just emailed about the horrendous customer service and her response (get this guys), "I never got a response back as to if that [Wednesday.] would work or anything." Let me remind everyone what her original message was? "Wednesday." That's with a PERIOD...not a question mark. In grammar, we use a "period" with "telling sentences" to make a factual statement. By definition, a "statement" is a clear expression of a fact, view, or plan. And you bet, I explained that to her. Do you think she offered an apology for her error? Nah. Do you think she is using complete sentences in correspondence now for clarity? Nope. Lastest response: "Will do. 7:30-9:30" She looks like a teenager (gmail image). The unprofessionalism might be more tolerable in that instance. I would hate to think she's an actual adult destroying customer relations with the business that employs her. Service is rescheduled AGAIN. I've been trying to nail this down for FOUR months now. After that, I can part ways and never use this company again. UPDATE: Got every cent of my money back ($300) on December 19th after speaking to the wife and the company (Elocal.com) that referred them to me. Trutech Wildlife, another company, which I found in the BEST OF magazine came out and did the job. They took photos of the incompetent job that M&M Wildlife Techs did. The chimney cap was left wide open, no cloth over it or nothing. Redid some of the fixes that M&M tried to do, and to my HORROR, Trutech removed a thick ring of dead wasp from the bottom of the flue---it was not pointed out by the first M&M wildlife tech who took a photo of the inside of the flue from the inside of my house. The total cost was $541 and some change. I get a One Year warranty. I can't say I recommend them, but they haven't told me to GO TO HELL, yet. If I have learned one thing from M&M Wildlife and that is to WAIT and reserve judgment. WAIT a while before reviewing. Initially, I thought this company was above board and gave them a decent review from their Service on December 3. Today, the real company showed it's face. I called because I am hearing something in my chimney again, and was trying to request they come out to do a recheck. Immediately, I was told by the Owner Mike Young that he didn't have time for this, that I was wasting his valuable time. A shouting match ensued in which I hung up. He called me back only to say---I will give you a refund if you answer this question---do you think your time is more valuable than mine? When I told him my time was valuable as well and that I don't know him to answer about his time. He told me to GO TO HELL and get someone else to handle my situation and do not call back there again. 12/14 Update, they refuse to call me back as promised in email the owner called ME a bad customer below in the review , I just want the job I paid for completed and the warranty, they have not offered to refund undone portion of the job. Guess its a scam & sm claims it will be Started strong but they definitely do NOT follow up and do what they say Day 1 (Monday) Consultation, met with Anthony I believe, paid him up front, BIG MISTAKE. Pay as you go so you dont give them too much leeway to leave you high & dry. He did set out 9 lg plastic traps & 2 sticky traps Note process is to allow them to not exit the house and force them to go to the traps for food (peanut butter), so seal up outside entry points. And them come 1-2 weekly till solved , usually in a few weeks or less, with a 10 yr guarantee that they will come back if it arises again. I rec'd an email with the detailed visit and the amount of monies paid. Day 2 Tuesday, Sept 15th, visit 2 , 1 tech came out and there were 4 caught in the attic traps, I was so excited, He sealed off the A/C area outside and a brick that was deteriorated that I had told them about, and I did have to press them to seal the dryer vent. (note other company's noted that there were 20ish entry points, talked about roof vents and trees, since these are tree rats. But not this group although I've asked) evening of day 2, 1 more caught, it was hot outside so I was ckg daily so it wouldn't smell, but Thursday I couldn't breathe, Day 5 (Friday) visit 3 Kelsie sent out Chris, and he got it, gagged a little and sprayed something that helps with the smell.. After that Next appt was made for 9/23, but cancelled for a Covid test, which I can respect Visit #4 the next appearance by a tech was 9/30 and 2 were dead in attic, I was still hearing activity so asked for more entry points to be addressed, but the tech did not have the right truck with proper equipment, also sine he couldn't find all the 11 traps, he added a couple more...but where are those traps???? 10/1 (Thursday) I went to the attic, an the traps I could see were either tripped or had NO bait, so I called the office and said its not going to work if no bait. No on was available to come out again, so Id ck back on Monday and I wanted the outside looked at by someone else to seal up possible entry point. There was no one available to come out earlier in the week and I was leaving town that Friday for a long weekend, so we were able to plan the following week after I returned. I emailed on Tuesday 10/13 and we scheduled 10/19 for the outside recheck and attic ck and got the bait reloaded. Visit #5 (remember 1 was the consultation and 2 more were the first week and this is 10/19, 5 weeks later He did fill in crevices and cracks in a few places, I asked about deterrent being used on the outside and he said that they become immune...and that I should consider outdoor traps that they could supply for 49.95/month...I said in 8 weeks and only 5 visits, I was no there yet since I didn't feel that the job had been done right based on what I had been told, and I have emails stating the same. They can put the traps/bait outside but Im not paying for it sine there hadn't been consistency. Followup for the following Monday 10/26 after that was cancelled due to rain on a Sunday night for Monday, I rec'd a text while driving stating that techs could not work in the rain and it rained a few days longer so I couldn't set anything up, but no more communication at all from M&M at all ckg back in, I found out they were waiting on me...but this is their job. 12/1 I started emailing (YES 5 WEEKS LATER), traps still empty, old bait in most of them, still hear activity every night, and in my kitchen, I have moved all food to storage containers and sealed anything edible...they got my potatoes ON my island. After many email bantering about wanting a refund, since they don't out traps in active areas ground floor, only attic, I bought my own and caught a few, more than the 5 weeks in the attic... So 12 weeks total 5 visits only, and 3 of those in the first week, I was promised a call back and 1 more week, NADA, nothing, no calls from the manager as promised Per Kelsie on 12/1...just a cpl 1.They will be in contact with you tomorrow morning. I don't EVER go out of my way to leave a bad review, but this company has been the most unprofessional, unaccountable service provider I have ever been referred to in my real estate career, and I'm embarrassed I gave my buyer's their referral. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! My clients have been chasing them for over a year to come complete their job on a home they purchased last June. From our several email and text attempts, starting in June 2019-Dec 2019, to have them come put eyes on the incomplete job, they WERE polite and we were always told "No problem" and that they promised they'd take care of the situation. Mike (I'm assuming a manager or one of the owners) was scheduled to come out multiple times, and he never ONCE showed up. Then May 30, 2020 comes around and my client sends me the attached photos with ACTIVE rodent issues, found by their cable provider, after M&Ms job was supposedly complete last June.....and they have a "10 year warranty". The scope of the work, provided on M&Ms service agreement (also attached), states they would seal the attic, provide traps, remove dead rodents, REMOVE soiled insulation, use a sterilization agent, & REPLACE with new insulation.....and that they have a 10 Year Warranty. From the photos and experience, I can't say with any confidence that they even showed up to set traps and seal the attic. My clients were the buyers of this home, and it was sold to them by a Trust, due to the precious homeowner passing away. We called M&M out based on a referral from Home Over General Contractors, to inspect and give us an estimate as part of our negotiations in buying the home. So the Trust picked up the bill..... this was known by ALL service providers up front. However, M&M is dodging accountability by saying they were hired by the Trust, not us. And challenging my client to provide then with an invoice addressed to them and not the Trust. The quote I attached proves otherwise. When I contacted M&M May 30, 2020, they denied having any knowledge of this entire situation.....which is fine, bc we reminded them by sending the DOZENS of email correspondence from the last year. It has now escalated to filing a complaint with the BBB (whom they are not Accredited with, but advertise to be so on their fb page). And it wasn't surprising at all to see over 10 complaints filed with such similar stories. Mike said he'd fix it, then gets moody when people get frustrated with him for blowing them off time and time again, then tells them to call his attorney and stops responding to his clients.
