Back again for another annual inspection. The Technician quickly got some information and I went into the waiting area inside. 15 minutes later, everything was done, another successful pass! The tech also suggested replacing wiper blades and I know...these places are "always overpriced" Sure, they were, but you're paying for convenience. Right? Well I had them replace both front wiper blades, because I knew they needed it. Great service and quick results! Usually my go-to spot for vehicle inspections, so it hurts to write a poor review. Unsure if they were understaffed today, or if the business has changed since a year ago, but waiting over an hour just to receive terrible customer service is not ideal. Maybe the one guy staffed was overworked? Either way, an experience like this makes it hard to come back. 2/5 experience, usually 5/5 Overpriced as always, but that's typical with state inspections, can't fault Dekra for that. read more

It still follows their pandemic rules - you have to wait in the car. Only the one in service are allowed to go in the big room indoors. This is June in Texas. They expect you to turn on the car and run air conditioning in the car. In a Sunday afternoon, there are only two cars waiting under the shade area. When it is my turn, the worker asked me to drive one feet further, then he got in my car and drove it away for inspection. He didn't do that for the next customer. I feel I was discriminated. I won't recommend this place at all. read more

The older, large bearded attendant was dismissive as soon as I walked in. After waiting in the line my car failed due to my wipers, even though they cleared off the water outside. After repeatedly trying to convince me to buy the wipers offered I asked if after I changed them I could come back and he would check the one issue and send me on my way. However, upon returning he denied the service promised before. The workers here are not helpful or consistent and do not care about the customers at all. read more

Got my first state inspection here after moving to Texas. Was a bit nervous since my home state doesn't do state inspection so I wasn't sure what to expect. The inspection was easy and quick, took about 10-15 minutes per car. Waiting room was well air conditioned. The man who did my inspection was friendly. Not sure if the price is universal wherever you go but it was not expensive at all. Would recommend this to others. read more

We got a car inspected here. Overall, I'm really happy about the service we received. First, the inspection was super efficient. The employees work and don't make much small talk -- they just get to business and don't do anything that wastes time. There were maybe 4 people ahead of us, and it took a mere 15-20 mins for them to finish up and for us to be on our way. Definitely will come back next year to get my car inspected again. read more

The 1 STAR is strictly due to lack of ADA compliance. My sister which is on a walker cannot pick up her leg over 2-3 inches in height could not get up to the entrance. That is an 11in wiper so the step is between 5 to 6 inches. The gentleman in the facility was very kind and did what he could to help her. Yes the other side is smaller but there is a sign that says Stop here. She should be able to take care of these issues on her own. If she can't that makes another task someone else has to do and makes the disabled person dependent on someone else. Not to mention not having a ramp (ADA Compliance) is a suable offense which is ridiculous because it should be done in the first place. read more

So the only reason this gets 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the red head man that was basically sprinting around by himself while his coworker sat in the back and then came out to cook a microwave meal while looking at my car. Things got to be very busy and this poor guy was managing both the counter and inspections. He was a sweetheart and he needs help! Moving onto the issue with my car, I have a 2006 Infiniti M35. We have lived in the state of Texas for over 10 years now, we have had this car since before even moving here. We have NEVER EVER failed an inspection or gotten pulled over for too dark of tint. Microwave meal dude tells me "my tint is at 17% which is apparently illegal in the state of Texas and that it needs to be 25% or higher." I ask him "how is that even possible for me to fail it all of the sudden after this long?" And he told me the place that I usually go to to get my inspections done "probably isn't doing a proper inspection" because they never failed me for my window tint. I've failed for numerous other things but window tint was NEVER one of them. Absolutely ridiculous and didn't even make sense. My tint isn't even that dark, I can literally see into my car and backseat perfectly fine, so just be weary if you have relatively dark tinted windows. They'll fail you for them. read more

There's not a lot that can be said that hasn't already been said, except for one thing: If your insurance company has an app for your phone or other device that can display "virtual" insurance ID cards, they will accept those instead of the paper copies! This was fantastic news to me, because I was already there when I realized that I didn't have a paper copy with me. Other than that, yeah, they only do inspections, so they have no motivation to fail you. Unless they're busy, they'll get you in and out in just a few minutes. Mine was less than 10 today. Take your car here to get it inspected, and somewhere else if you need repairs. It's the best way, for sure. read more

Not helpful and it seems as though they could care less. Very inconsistent as well. I've been taking my vehicle here for several years. Purchases said vehicle at a dealership and have it inspected here. Always. For years, it has passed with no problems. Without anything being done to the vehicle, they suddenly failed it saying the window tint put on by the dealership is "too dark." Law's haven't changed, so why did the dealer pass it? Why did this place pass it for years? Probably because they all looked very sad to be working there. Sam's Automotive and Resh's Bass Automotive will inspect for the same price and are professional and knowledgeable mechanics. Don't risk having your day ruined by going to a place where the folks can't actually tell you why something is the way it is, go someplace where they desire to help you find a solution. read more

Place stinks of body odor so bad I am holding my breath. Other woman here was waiting outside. When my teenaged daughter brought her car here a couple of months back, they locked her keys in the car. One worker is sitting at the cash register sniffing his snot back in repeatedly instead of blowing his nose. Now my car didn't pass because they are too stupid to understand that my tail lights have a clear plastic cover over the self-contained tail light and separately self-contained hazard and back up lights. and that ONLY the clear cover is broken. He keeps telling me that the clear tape on the cracked clear plastic cover somehow shines white instead of red (there's a clear bulb BEHIND the red lens w/reflector.) I keep pointing out that the tail light lens is intact and working, and that the bulb is BEHIND the red lens, so it can't possibly be seen as white, but he is just as dense as they come. Now I understand that if he blows his nose, his brain will come out. read more

It's that end of the year thing that you dread doing. It's the annual car inspection. I've been avoiding this for a month now (not good, I know) but I knew it was really time to get that done. Local car inspection places are everywhere but its hard to choose one. Well I hope this yelp makes your decision process easier. I chose Inspections Only LP because it is literally 2 minutes away from my house. The place looks like they took an old gas station and made it into an inspection center - that's exactly what they did. However you can't miss this place because it's all in a hunter green and it clearly states "INSPECTIONS ONLY". As soon as I came in, they said a hello and then told me that all they needed was my keys and proof of car insurance. To be honest, the waiting area looks sketchy. There are no fancy chairs or complimentary coffee. They have a few magazines and an old TV. Other than that, the place looks kind of shabby. But as soon as I sat down to wait, the guy who inspected my car came and told me he was done! It was about a 10 minute wait! I was so impressed! They had it ready for me to go. Final charge: $39.75 It was simple quick and go. Now, this task won't be hard to complete next year. read more

Update: The engine was completely ruined, having developed a bad case of rod knock. It gave out a couple months after this inept inspection. If you have an older vehicle with a low-geared standard transmission, such as my '94 WD21 Nissan Pathfinder, advise the tester to run your car in SECOND gear. The employee in charge of my vehicle chose to run in first. I could hear the fan screaming from inside the room, despite traffic nearby. Partway through the tests, they stopped to get a fan and put it in front of my truck. I was suspicious and should have stepped out at that point, but mistakenly assumed that these people would have some idea to perhaps shift up a gear and not, you know, brutally overheat an old reliable truck without looking once at the tachometer. I guess not. I guess these poor employees are underpaid, under-trained, and don't care. I got my truck back OVERHEATED, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, and have not been able to drive more than 3 miles without it overheating. It makes terrible sounds I have never heard in all my years of ownership. These people damaged my vehicle, which I take pride in maintaining because I don't have money to replace. It was in fine shape until this. Do not choose this place if you have a manual truck earlier than 1995. For cars their method is probably fine, but as for my trusty utility vehicle? It smokes and may have been ruined thanks to ten minutes of irresponsible poor treatment, after all my years of care. I am very, very unhappy with the aftermath of my "service" And to the company: Y'all probably check your reviews, know who I am (not many folks come thru with that model of vehicle), and know that truck was in beautiful shape and passed flawless despite its age and your abuse. Don't you dare try and get this review removed under pretense my truck was already dying. You did this. I urge you to train your employees in handling older, manual vehicles with more knowledge and responsibility. read more

This is the second year I've taken muy cars to This inspection station. They're not the most friendly bunch right off but they are efficient and get the job done; I imagine this isn't the most fun job since a lot of people seem to wait til the last minute to get an inspection done and aren't always very nice to them. The older thin guy with a beard is funny if you talk to him for a minute. The younger guy was friendly at checkout. *Note - some music would be nice and lighten the atmosphere...it is dead silent in the waiting room. read more

Then they took a car that arrived 15min after i did. All this with no friendly gesture or a word said to me by the staff. Not recommended, unprofessional, poor customer service, long wait time. I walked in to a full room of people sitting in the waiting rm. Waited at the front desk for 10 minutes, no one that worked there even acknowledged me. So went back to my car, when another gentleman pulled up behind me. Within a few minutes, he was being helped, so I asked why they were helping him and not I, who had been waiting, he rudely responded, "you're just going to have to wait a little longer, and don't hit the cone on your way out." Caught me off guard because I wasn't being difficult, just looking for someone to help. I went during a slow time (weekday morning), but the line at this one can be VERY long at lunch, after work and on weekends. My family has been using this inspection place for years. My husband and I actually drive up from the University Park area to have our vehicles inspected here. Never been hassled, the guys are nice enough, and we're always in-and-out within 10 minutes. There's not a whole lot more to say about an inspection place - this is as good as it gets. read more

Getting your car inspected is a chore--let's admit it!! I usually try to time them to have them done during an oil change, but this time around it just wasn't going to happen. So, I gave these guys a try. I came in on a Tuesday morning when I figured that they would not be busy, and they were not. So, I stopped in. You park your car in a lane and wait for them to get your keys and insurance. They then inspect your car. Being first in line, I waited maybe 10-15 minutes at most. The guys there were friendly too. Now, I cannot speak to what this place is or could be like at the end or the 1st of a month, but my wait was minimal. I imagine the wait is much longer when their lanes are full. I imagine you could almost figure out what your wait would be pretty easily by multiplying the number of cars in front of you in line by 15 minutes. read more
