Drove 40 miles to get my 14 year old Miele canister vacuum serviced since everything in my area did not instill confidence in repair reviews. They did not dissapoint. Fixed everything I needed fixed and a couple things I didn't even know needed fixing. Done in a day. Very happy. read more

Went in asking about a specific vacuum, but said I hadn't ever bought a nice vacuum before. The one I wanted was out of stock. The man in the store asked me about my home and my needs. He said that the one I was asking for was the best one for me, so he wasn't going to even try talk me into a different one. He said he would order it and call me when it came in (and noted it will be on a significant discount then!). He had some similar but more expensive ones in stock, and when I asked about them, he explained why they weren't better for me than the one I had asked about. Very helpful. read more

called to find out if we could get help cleaning the inside of our roomba 655. We've had pet accidents and although I've cleaned it from the outside and changed all replaceable brushes it needs to be broken down completely and cleaned up. called this place because it came up first on yelp. not 1 minute into call here is what reply was: "We don't clean up dog shit buddy." nice. You can find a jerk in almost any establishment, but it's always impressive to find one in less than 2 minutes on the phone. have a nice life "buddy" and maybe try using nice adult words with your other customers. read more

I won't be going back. I diagnosed my sewing machine's problem myself and all they did was oil the mechanisms. Cost around $70 and once I used the machine again for five more days, it stopped working. I can't comment on the vacuum side of things. I believe they sub contract out the sewing machines but do the vacuum repair in house. read more

For over a decade, I have always taken my vacuums and appliances to M & M for repair, In fact, I have bought several vacuums at the shop. I have always had good service, reasonable prices, and a good turn around time. Recently, I took my Bernina sewing machine in for repair. When it came back, it still had the same problem. So, I took it in a second time. I told the M & M employee that I suspected there was still a minor issue with the tension, but I had other, more major concerns, like the fact that the fabric still bunched up when I sewed and the needle swerved to the left when I sewed. Once he had written down there might still be a tension problem, he decided he was finished. When I tried to tell him about the more major problems, he interrupted me several times and acted as if he was more interested in doing the least amount of work and most interested in getting me out of the shop. In fact, I had to ask him to please write the other major concerns down and stop interrupting me because it was the second time I had asked M & M to fix it, and he complied. (I think because I couldn't see when he was doing). Then when I asked when I might expect to pick my machine up, he said he didn't "fix sewing machines" and was unwilling to estimate. He seemed totally unconcerned and in a hurry to finish. When I went to pick up the machine later that day, he brought it out, and I asked what the problem was. He said he didn't know because "he did not fix sewing machines." He then grabbed the machine, started marching out the door with it to put it in my car, and I followed. This employee was rude, condescending, impatient, uninterested, and uninformative. He acted like he was doing me a favor for just taking my service order. I am assuming he was an employee, although, for all I know, he might have been an owner. He was tall, older, with all white hair. Because of him, I will never do business with M & M again. read more

I have an old hand-me-down vacuum, which means that most stores don't carry the bags for them. After checking at Target and Kroger, I eventually remembered the small little vacuum store I had driven past 100s of times. M&M didn't have the bags in stock either, but the friendly employee gladly ordered them for me. I probably could've bought them from Amazon or another online retailer, but they didn't charge shipping and handling and actually marked down the sticker price for me. Very friendly staff and very prompt repair service. Dropped off my vacuum for a tune-up on a Thursday and it was ready Friday afternoon... I was lazy and didn't pick it up until the next Tuesday. The service I received was prompt, friendly, reasonably priced and the vacuum cleaner is working as good as new! The vacuum cleaner bags I bought while I was there even smell better than the ones I'd been buying at the local supermarket. I'll be back! read more

Asked the man in charge to look at a vacuum I was bringing him to see to help me decide if I should buy it from someone in my neighborhood who was selling it on a local Facebook group. He inspected it closely and managed to upsell me on new brush attachment, claiming the one on it already would scratch the wood floors. He offered to replace the filters inside and said it was in great used condition. I asked that he service and clean it thoroughly so that it would be like new for me to start using it in my own house. He said it would take approximately 3 days. He also said he would call me if there were any issues found during the service before replacing any parts. Over 2 weeks later I got the call it was ready for pickup. I took one look at it and it was still filthy dirty. When I picked up the main attachment, first thing I noticed was the step petal was cracked in half. This was NOT noticed when the man and I carefully inspected it when I brought it in, nor did he call me to tell me the part was broken when he was servicing it. Needless to say I am not impressed. He said he wasn't charging me to clean it and I am wondering why it took over 2 weeks to pop the cover off (2 seconds) and stick new filters inside. (No more than 1 minute combined.) If I had known within a few days it was in need of that level of repairs I could have most likely returned it. Now I am out of pocket for the cost of the item plus the pricey filters, and a service charge. I immediately pointed out the cracked in half foot pedal and the repair man suggested they can fix that for an extra charge. Hmmm. Did they break it?? I have no way of proving it but I do know when we were inspecting it the man used it and it worked perfectly and with his 'vacuum expert' eyes he missed the cracked foot pedal?!! I would give zero stars but I am happy to update this if they make it right. They could get a couple more stars...We shall see. So far, thoroughly unimpressed. read more

I have dealt with M & M for about thirty years, involving several vacuums. I trust them completely and have never had bad service. Many times, they have gone beyond the expected or shorted their sales by doing the right thing rather than take advantage of my ignorance. So, I am amazed to read that others have had bad experiences. The man in charge, an Indian man I believe, is delightful but a straight talker who loves to kid around. I wonder if some of these bad reviews come from those lacking a sense of humor. Another man working there, a Black man, is not so outgoing or talkative. read more

I recently bought a vacuum from M&M and it was a better experience than going to Sears or Wal-Mart. The owner was very courteous (100x better than what you'll get at Wal Mart) and knowledgeable (he has been selling these vacuums for 30 years). They have a wide product offering. He SAID if i ever have problem just bring it back and he'll be able to fix it. He threw in an extra belt which was nice. I am happy to support a local biz. read more

Bought a used vacuum for my carpeted apartment. I have a small mixed beagle that sheds "sticky" hair. I know used commercial strength vacuum is better than the disposables consumer types at Walmart or Target. Explained my needs to the owner of the shop, walked out with a used, surprisingly quiet , vacuum. Good selection. read more

I took in a vacuum for repair. I was open to a new one, sine I didn't like my old one anyway. They directed me to my new and current vacuum, letting me trade in my old one towards the new purchase. I liked that the fellow who helped me asked several questions about my living mode and part of town, what types of floors I have, and also what activities I am into, did I have pets. I felt that what I was sold fit perfectly for my price range, my needs, and I would even go so far as to say protecting my furniture because of the hose and nozzle styles. As long as I am in Houston, and as long as I may have need for business around my vacuum, I will go here without question. They are a wonderful place that understands great customer interaction. read more

I live in Richmond area with a vacuum repair place by me who lied to me. Being as I had lived in the Medical Center Area in the past, M & M Vacuum was familiar to me. M & M had repaired vacuums in the past for me. I made a trip up to see him concerning a broken vacuum. I knew this vacuum was seriously broken. The owner looked at it and told me it was not worth repairing. I have trust in this place that he is not going to lie or cheat you unlike the place in Sugar Land. If you need a preowned vacuum, he has a good selection also. I have a second vacuum which needs a new part I will go see if he can get also. read more

I support small business and love to see them flourish so it pains me to write this one-star review, but I think the public should be aware of the customer service. I brought in a vacuum in December under warranty as the vacuum company recommended this as the nearest service store for maintenance. It is now mid-March. Since then, I had called about once a week to ask the status of whether my vacuum was being worked on, could somebody call me back with a status check, and each time I spoke with someone (who was very polite and nice), I got the following responses "You left a vacuum here? What is your name? What's your phone number? Oh the owner is not here yet, but I will certainly have him call you back when he arrives." Never once, not once, in 3 months did the owner ever call me back. I resorted to calling the vacuum company and having them call the store and deal with them. It appeared to me that once the store realized I wasn't buying a vacuum (because initially that was their solution), they either lost interest, did not know how to fix the vacuum, or something else because it was absolute crickets after that. The vacuum company had an equally difficult time to get in touch with someone and to find out the status of the repair. Ultimately they decided to send a new vacuum because the store could not repair my existing one. Ordinarily the vacuum company would ship that new vacuum to the store, and the store would get reimbursed for their work, and I would pick it up at the store. However, the store was unable to send in the requisite papers to show that they had worked on the vacuum, and the company ended up completely bypassing them and shipping it to me. All this to say, I don't know what's going on at this store, but I have never seen my vacuum since, even providing them with the ticket number, my name, phone number, it's as if it went into a hole and never surfaced. I was very disappointed in the customer service and the lack of attention from the owner. read more

Looked up online to see that M&M accepted Bissel warranty. When I brought my vacuum in was told no we don't accept warrenties from them. When I clarified that I checked and they do accept, he back tracked and said OK we do take Bissel. Then when describing problem just told me I needed a filter, which I had replaced, then said I just need to clean a clog and that is not covered. They would do it for $20, but I could not watch them work. Walked out and figured worst case would rather buy an entirely new unit rather than give this establishment $20. read more

Dealing with this company has been an absolute nightmare. My father-in-law brought our vacuum in because the cord had a tiny fray (no wires exposed or anything... just a frayed cord). That was the day after Christmas. It is now almost May and we still don't have it back. I have gone there twice and they said they are "waiting on a part". When I inquired as to what part they are waiting for since it was just the cord, they said they took it apart and broke it. I told them I wanted them to reimburse me for it because I need it ASAP and they are taking too long and they said the owner would call me. I never received a call and so I called them and they tried to tell me that the owner would call me the next day... again. They have now said that three different times when I have called. This place is a joke and they are thieves. They do not deserve to be in business. NEVER VISIT THIS ESTABLISHMENT! read more

The owner was able to answer my questions and he gave me a lot of his time even though I had told him I was planning to purchase online.
