My husband and I used to order from this place fairly regularly. It seems though however, corners have been cut big time. Our containers got over packed into one bag where by the time it got home to our house, this is what each of our meals looked like when we tried to unbag. Crushed and leaking all over. Chicken Marsala used to have a great amount of sauce and now my chicken was dry as a bone. I came here for dinner with my gf because I was sick and wanted pasta to cure me. We parked across the street near the apartments and walked over. We enter and I noticed it pretty slow for a Sunday. It was around 5:30 so dinner with Jerrys. Our waiter/hoster walks in a minute after his chit chat/smoke break. We get seated with menus and he gives us time to look things over. OMG!!!! 10 minutes later he takes our order. 15 minutes after our order, bread comes outs. Finally, 25 minutes our entrees comes out. An eternity later, he brings us the check. My gf had the off menu fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. and I had the chicken with eggplant, bacon/ham, mozz with rigatoni. The free bread and Italian salsa was really good too. The food was really good but not pleasing because of the untimeliness. The biggest mistake coming here was that I was sick and really grumpy. There is no reason for a restaurant to have really slow service when it is not busy either. It's like having your food delivered 40 minutes after you ordered when you live across the street. If your too lazy to walk across the street or sick do not come here. Be prepared to wait and become a Jerry. read more

This place is close to work for me and its really good. The buffalo chicken pizza and the chicken parm pizza have some really good chicken strips. I don't know where they get the chicken from or if they make it themselves but it has the right amount of crunch and taste. My husband, daughter and I stopped in La Piazza tonight for a quick slice before her dancing class. We were looking for quick service and a decent slice of pizza. Considering we live in Nutley - surrounded by many fabulous pizza joints - this is a hard line to live up to, and I will admit - La Piazza didn't fail miserably. We ordered a large plain pie which took about 20 minutes to cook and be delivered to our table. It was piping hot, burned the roofs of our mouths and dripped with oil. Maybe a little too much. The sauce to cheese ratio was just slightly off. I found the sauce to be a little too overpowering and much prefer the cheese to be the highlight of my slice. Crust was not crunchy enough and overall, the slice was a little too doughy. Not the worst slice I've ever had - but certainly not the best. Service was fine. Quick, friendly and efficient. Steady stream of people coming in for takeout, although we didn't hear the phone ring once. Overall - ideal meal for grabbing something quick and on the run, but not a pizza establishment that I would visit intentionally. If I could give La Piazza 2.5 stars, I would. Definitely not a three - not a two - but somewhere in between. read more

I have eaten at La Piazza many times and have also gotten take out. It finally occurred to me this last visit to write a review. Don't let the small size of the place fool you. They have a huge menu and the food is great! Everything from the pizza to the eggplant, the chicken francese, the sandwiches and the broccoli rabe and sausage; it's all delicious. Their salad with grilled chicken is huge; enough for 2 people. The restaurant itself is small and VERY casual when dining in. I think a large part of their business is take-out and delivery. Our family had a garage sale last weekend and they delivered. Our wraps and salads were excellent and delivery was faster than expected. This is my "fast-food" place when visiting Clifton. read more

We've been ordering here the past 1 1/2 yrs at least once a week. It used to be at the top but after the 2nd time our pizza came squished and shoved to one side. We are not ordering from here anymore. Not even just the pizza but the quality of the pasta and chicken tenders have gone down. If I'm paying $21 plus tip for a pizza, I expect the pizza to come to me fully intact. This is unacceptable and completely unprofessional. We will be ordering from another pizzeria from now on. I'm a little disappointed. I don't even live in the area but I've tried this place when I was a Clifton resident. I am not sure if it's the same owner. I really didn't want to write this review but I happened to be in the area and have ordered chicken Marsala couple years back, with the intentions of a good meal. First off, I ordered it with penne vodka, I received chicken and pasta separate. Not only that, but the pasta had tomato sauce. Isn't it supposed to be one dish? (I'm confused) Moving on to the chicken and mushroom sauce, no Bueno. Sauce was really brown, tasted and looked like beef broth, it was so over powering that I barely tasted the mushrooms. Really disappointed. I also ordered mozzarella sticks for my daughter and again not the kind I'm used to eating. I don't know what happened to this place. I've ordered both dishes from here once upon a time and it was amazing. However, not the case. Young lady at the counter was friendly and pleasant, the only good thing they came out of this place. I ordered two pies with pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese on the side and they put them on top of both pies. When I called to ask for two new pies, they delivered them sloppy and disheveled in the box. I live right across the street, literally, and delivery takes over 40 mins no matter what I order, and I never see anyone in there, so that's annoying. I just got tortellini alfredo from there a week ago and it was pretty good. I'm a parmesean cheese snob, and the sauce seemed to contain little to no parmesean. i order from la piazza almost every other weekend for the past 2 years and i have to say this is one of best places for pizzas i have ever eaten at! they offer whole wheat pizza pies which are always well cooked and taste perfect along with there buffalo wings that are perfectly crisped along with their blue cheese and hot sauce. now for there normal pizza pies they always come well hot and very good with the spread of cheese they put on the pie along with there tomato sauce, there topping as wll have a very good range of options and never have they came cold before the only issue i had with them once was one when of there delivery driver went pass my house into Patterson and my food had arrived cold but they offered me a 15% discount on my next order which i believed was a very good compensation for the long wait and the mistake the driver made! read more

La Piazza is always a great local go-to place for pizza and awesome panini sandwiches (try the Alessandra panini!). Also, as Mark S. (reviewer above me) said, the buffalo chicken pizza is outstanding. The chicken is perfect, and the buffalo sauce has a great flavor, not too spicy or tangy, and a good consistency. The sauce is so important! :) The bruschetta is also a great appetizer. Anyhoo, what makes me give this place only 3 stars is the TERRIBLE service. I cannot tell you how many times we've had food delivered to my house and had to have them come drive something back to us. I'm talking FULL SANDWICHES they just simply forget to put in the bag. Or forgetting the grilled chicken in a chicken caesar salad (and sometimes the dressing). They also hire the most vapid counter girls I've ever seen. The staff doesn't give off a good vibe and seem like complete idiots - even after REPEATING the order back to you either over the phone or in person, they still can't get it right. Love this place! Close to home so the family and I stop in when I want to take the night off from cooking. My kids faves are the fettuccine alfredo, chicken parm, chicken fingers and their delicious fries! The food is made to order so there is a bit of a wait but it's worth it for hot and fresh food.
