Great variety of appetizer with bold flavors. Korean short ribs and rock shrimp tempura were not to disappoint. The happy hour also for drink specials also pair well with the variety of flavors spanning many Asian tastes. Sushi is average quality, though a safe and sanitary bet. I'd recommend the innovative rolls vs traditional Nigiri and Sashimi. Overall, would recommend as a great place to grab drinks and snack. Entrees don't seem as appealing, though may try when I return. read more

The food is great, and the bartender(Ryan) is the best in town. Graham is also a great server, and we always have a great time when one of the those two takes care of us. The restaurant decorations are a bit tacky, but the wine list is great so just have a few glasses and you won't even be able to read the signs. We love this place! read more

I like this spot for lunch. The lunch special I get comes with two maki roles and a salad. It's about $10. I get it with ginger dressing. It is good and really close to my job. It's not a luxury spot but I think the food is fresh and I just love the ginger dressing. I always get my food to go. I am still looking for a luxury sushi spot, but this will do for now and for lunch. The menu isn't the best but they have the lunch special and that is the reason why I keep coming back. It is average and I wish they were more like the sushi spot down the street, M-Grill, but they only do parties now. They had a good lunch special, and I was a bit disappointed when they stopped doing lunch. They have a decent dining experience but I wish they would make it more upscale and train their employees better. Average but I think it's good food. read more

This review I do reluctantly. It's Michelle Wang's elegant hidden gem in the Vista and I want to keep my tenured bar stools. The food is upscale dining without intimidation and delicious. The bar, Ryan Chadwick and company are amazing each and every time. I've entertained friends there and more recently my daughter and her bo from out of town. We were treated like rock stars, the good kind. The regulars are engaging and entertaining to say the least. Me and my gal consider the regulars and staff as our friends. When I went to this restaurant it was just before the kitchen was about to close. They were nice enough to keep the kitchen open for me. I ordered the spicy beef. The food was excellent! Not too spicy and full of flavor. The service was polite and fast. The only issue that I had was the portion of food was kind of small. Other than that I recommend this place. read more

Michelle has outdone herself! Out this evening to celebrate a friend's birthday. MGrille exceeded all expectations. We knew it was different when our fabulous server, Sara, gave us a choice of lemon, lime, cucumber, or strawberry water. Where else in Columbia can you find so many options for water alone? The menu offered many creative options as well. The Salmon Berry Roll was exceptional! The Honey Brined Southern Chicken was DECADeNT! The ambiance was supreme. Same logo as M vista so I assumed it was a spin off on the same great flavor. My sister and I decided to check it out and we were pleased to hear it was 5$ for the cocktails. I got the cucumber cocktail and it was refreshing and light. We shared the garlic chicken spring rolls as an appetizer and they were absolutely amazing. I haven't had an egg roll with that flavor and would definitely return to get more. We both got sushi and it was up to standards of the Miyos chain. Good fresh sushi but in a more upscale spot. It's a very elegant spot with the same Asian flavors and similar dishes as Miyo's. The miso soup was delicious, as usual. I would like to return and try some of their heavier dishes and I'm definitely interested in trying the Korean beef appetizer. read more

This is an Asian American food. If you ever think that this is how Asian food really taste then you are far off. If you are comfortable eating at a Chinese Buffet think of this place as an upgraded version of that and the price that reflects that. Also their desserts are purchased nothings really made in store. The sushi is expensive for what you get and its not fresh. Everything can taste good when fried, coated in soy sauce base, and with cream cheese. If you are from here and haven't tasted a lot of Asian Food in general, you will enjoy the atmosphere and it will be a good place to just try something different... But if you know Asian food. You will not like this place... 3 stars are more for the atmosphere, cleanliness, and customer service... But nothing more than that. GET TakeOUT! read more

Yesterday a friend and I tried M Grille for the first time and I must say that we were completely disappointed! The tempura shrimp appetizer left a lot to be desired but we had high hopes for our entrees! Needless to say my friends spareribs and my red curry both fell flat! The flavor profiles in both were lacking and we when you pay over 30 bucks for lunch you do expect the food to be palatable at the very least! We will NOT be visiting this restaurant again. But on a positive note the waitstaff were extremely friendly and accommodating! I think that if they focused less on aesthetic and more on food than the experience would be vastly improved! read more

Was disappointed in my experience here. Really wanted to like it, but one thing after anther kept letting me down. The prices were a bit high, and the setting was a bit strange. It was as if they were trying too hard to make it seem like a fancy restaurant when it wasn't. Went to order sushi, and none of the options sounded appetizing. Most of them with fruit of some sort incorporated. We asked the server about a few things on the menu and she did not know what they were. The soup that comes with the entree arrived late, and the food I ordered was made incorrectly; overall service was slow. It was a Saturday evening and they barely had any customers! I know it is supposed to be fusion, and I'm open to new things, but I feel as though this place could do much better. read more

Stayed at the hotel across the street & this is impressive. Shrimp Thai Basil is delicious! Got my food to go, but had a drink while I waited. I believe the cocktail was called cucumber basil, made w/Absolut. That hit the spot as well, nice refreshing drink. Like the vibe of the place. The menu clearly marks the dishes that are gluten free, which is great but 15 minutes after I left M Grill I realized that something had definitely not been prepared gluten free. The restaurant is a beautiful contemporary design, very open, simple lines and the kitchen area is visible and smoothly connected to the dining room. Lots of windows. I had dinner with two business associates from out of town and we were all very impressed and totally pleased. We had an appetizer of an amazing roll made with thinly sliced strawberry and avocado wrapped around grilled shrimp and rice with soy paper, with honey drizzled over it. It sounds improbable but it was outstanding! Two of us ordered the grilled shrimp with Thai basil curry sauce with grilled onions and bell peppers, which was excellent. One of us had the chicken soaked in brine and honey, then cooked with a light tempura batter and served with a dipping sauce. It was also very good. We had sampling of desserts: chocolate cookies, an unusual key lime pie with a crust that had almonds and strawberries with whipped cream. It was a great finish to our meal. The menu is an unusual fusion of Asian food and other styles, and it really works. I highly recommend this restaurant. The prices were reasonable, too. read more

Man I love this place. Came down from NYC and Stayed at the Spring Hill across the street for 30 days and I ate here every single day for dinner. Their Miso Salmon is by far the best Salmon I have had to date, and my boy Ryan at the bar makes THE best drinks! Amazing customer service , Great people , great location. I gave M Grille a second try and still left disappointed. The first visit was on a Saturday night - dinner for a table of four. All four of us were equally less than impressed with the service and the atmosphere, but I believe in second chances and I coughed the disappointing experience to a newly opened restaurant that had not worked out the pace, accuracy, fluidity, spirit... of an experienced eatery. Our server was a novice but was charming, witty, and accommodating and all of us at the table felt he was not the fault for our lackluster dinner- he was a mere product of poor training. Another disappointment- the lighting. Although the interior was calm and the furnishings impressive, there was too much lighting present for an evening dinner experience. The food, however, was good (steak, sushi platter, flounder), but at the end of the dinner, when it is time to reflect on the overall experience with a huge tab in front of you- the experience was marginal. Speed forward a month later- we gave M Grille another shot and still left unsatisfied. Our waiter was a novice (again) but friendly and aimed to please. The appetizers were satisfactory- ribs and sushi- but once again we had the feeling that this restaurant was not the upscale, innovative restaurant M Grille has been touted to be. Perhaps in time, M. Grille will live up to the hype but I doubt we will come back to find out. read more

The customer service is the worst in Columbia. I'm not sure if the owner is oblivious or just doesn't care, but waitstaff at M. Grille and M. Vista is abysmal at best. Luckily, the food is so poorly prepared that it isn't much of a loss to stop going. read more

The host stand does not resemble one, and due to the fact that there wasn't anyone at the host stand, we waited at the door for assistance. The server was not knowledgeable about menu items and was unable to answer our questions. He left to go find an answer and returned ready to take our order without divulging the answer he left our table to find. The server also found our table too small when he brought the appetizer and asked to move our candle off our table. The appetizer was fine. We ordered chicken wrapped in jalapeño and bacon. We couldn't find any heat and the bacon was very, very chewy hiding only a little cube of chicken. The appetizer was too large to eat in one bite and knifes are not present on the table. So, we used our forks to cut them, and the appetizer plates were uneven on the bottom and rocked on the table with an unpleasant sound. The sushi, the Godzilla roll, was okay. I was not a fan of the entree, Southern Fried Chicken. The veggies and chicken were sliced rather than chopped and were cut too large to eat with chopsticks. Also with this plate, the tempura was soggy and wound up tasting like wet flour due to the pile of veggies on top of the chicken. The veggies were over salted. The server was less than stellar as he never asked us if we wanted a second cocktail, and we had to flag him down for the check as he was resetting tables. He brought us the check with a pen without running our card. We reminded him he needed to run the card. Clearly, the place was ready to close down at 9. We were one of 2 tables left and all the cooks were eating dinner at the tables to the left. I'm not sure we will return any time soon. read more

Decent selection of wine, but I was a little put off that the wine is served in small water glasses. The Korean BBQ appetizer had good flavor but was too chewy and a bit fatty. It was like chewing bubble gum. I'd definitely go again but would skip the Korean BBQ. read more
