I have eaten at M Grille several times and I have to say that it is my favorite restaurant in Columbia. The atmosphere is chic and reminiscent of a Manhattan restaurant. The food and drinks are made with the freshest of ingredients. I particularly enjoy the pear martini infused with lavender. There are other creative mixed drinks and a nice selection of wines. For appetizers the asparagus tempura, rock tempura shrimp, and Korean style short ribs are a must. Anything you order will be fabulous and presented with flair. The service is wonderful; we try to always ask for Sara, who is excellent. My favorite entrees are the scallops, duck, and the salmon. The duck is very tender and moist and served with pancakes. The scallops melt in your mouth and are served with a light pineapple salsa. The salmon is a nice sized portion, thicker than the other M restaurants typical salmon dish, and served in a light wine sauce with onions and mushrooms. Very tasty! I would also recommend the pork; it is succulent and done to perfection with just the right amount of flavoring to bring out the meat and not overpower the dish. Yum! Can't wait to return. read more

I did not think anything could be better than M Vista...but then came M Grille! The environment, the staff, the food is simply awesome! Now to make it even better, there is M Space right next door. This event space is like no other in Columbia. It is state of the art when it comes to the technology tools needed for a meeting, yet it's organic feel of the decor makes it very comfortable and welcoming. This space is perfect...I mean PERFECT for a rehearsal dinner as much as it is for a business meeting. We did not know if we would have 10 people or 50 people at our meeting. They had light apps to start us off with and then brought the heavier food a little while after the meeting start time. With the restaurant next door, they were able to handle as few or as many people in real time! This saved us hundreds of dollars not paying for people that did not show up. The amazing LCD touch screen kept us from having to hood up computers and projectors. The owner Michelle and the staff were amazing and took care of us very well! Really first rate - attentive and yet not intrusive service - we really did want to talk through the first (extraordinarily fine, I must say) cocktail before we thought about ordering and that was perfectly fine. Without question, this is the most refined bar service of any of the Miyo's establishments - both cocktails and wine selection compliment fine food. Extensive menu of intriguing food selections. Highly recommend the Pork Belly and Tuna Carpaccio appetizers, as well as the Lobster Salad and Seared Diver Scallops entrees. That was Round One. We will be back - often. It was interesting to observe the kitchen staff smoothly manage the simultaneous demands of a sushi buffet for a group of some 25+ at one end - 7 couples throughout the middle seating area - and a family of some 12+ in a semi-private dining area. This was my second time at M Grille. Michele Wang has done an amazing job of adding quality restaurants to Columbia, SC. All of her restaurants are excellent. M Grille sets a higher standard with a very clean, quiet interior and an eclectic menu. One can chose from sushi, risotto, pizza and traditional entries. M Grille has an extensive list of cold sakes which is unusual for Columbia. They also have flights of sake that are lots of fun to try and share with others. The wine list is interesting and M Grille's wines are very reasonably priced. They have a house wine in addition to the wine list. The service was excellent. The wait staff is always attentive, well trained, and engaging. A very enjoyable, relaxing, fun night out dining and that is what we all need at the end of the day! read more

One week ago I ate at FIG in Charleston. For me, M Grille was five times as good. Tonight was our second time there. The atmosphere is light and cool. The seats are comfortable and modern. Michelle, the owner, was on hand tonight, as she was three weeks ago, to give out free appetizers and talk. But it is the menu and the food that I love. Tonight I had the Peking Duck. Perfect and delicious. The wine list had interesting selection with a wide range of prices. There were interesting cocktails, one of which my wife had and loved. We had a beer, a cocktail and a bottle of wine, and our two dinners for 99 dollars. There are lots of things on the menu that I am intrigued by, so we are going back soon. As of this moment, this is my favorite Columbia restaurant. read more

Michelle Wang's restaurants keep getting better and better. M Grille is the best yet. The atmosphere is refined but not fussy, encouraging diners to relax and enjoy themselves. The service is respectful and attentive. The dining room is not noisy, permitting conversation. And the food is so good. The freshest ingredients possible, very high quality. Perfectly prepared. The dishes are imaginative, flavorful, with occasional surprises that leave you saying "Oh, yes. That is very nice." And there is a nice range of choices from beef or pork to fish or shrimp, chicken or duck, and vegetarian dishes, too. And a nice assortment of sushi. By the end of my first dinner here, I was thinking of all of the friends and family I want to bring to experience this delightful restaurant. read more

A lovely evening and birthday dinner spent with friends at M Grille. Our party of 12 women sat around a customized long table in the bar area. We felt cozy and well taken care of by our bartender and waitress, Jessica. Based on her starter recommendations, we enjoyed the grilled eggplant, rock tempura shrimp, and edamame. All three delicious but the grilled eggplant was a home run! I shared the Peking Duck M Style with a friend. The duck was moist and the pancakes thin and fresh. Some favorites of our table; Vegetarian Curry, Ribeye, and the M Grille Signature roll. Among the desserts, the green tea and chai cheesecake were standouts. We have dined at M Grille four times in the past month and each time have had exceptional experiences with food and service! The food and drink menus are both incredibly creative and unique. Last night, we had the strawberry roll, the filet and sesame chicken. Each item was delicious, especially the sesame chicken, and we love how everything on the menu is healthy and organic. The blueberry Mojito's are to die for!! We have never left M Grille disappointed and plan on going back many more times! The food and atmosphere entitles M Grille to the five star rating in our book! This is my favorite place for sushi in Columbia! I love the modern decor - it is beautiful inside with warm lighting and lots of neutrals. I had the rock tempura shrimp, which was a perfect size for sharing. The sushi is always fresh and on this visit I had my favorite roll - -the strawberry honey. It's the perfect combination of sweet and savory. You really can't go wrong with any of the sushi. I also love how many healthy options are on the menu. Ate at M Grille the other night and wow was I impressed. The restaurant was very clean and had a nice vibe. Ordered the Rock Shrimp tempura for an appetizer, and it was thoroughly enjoyed. After looking across the dining room and seeing a huge steak being set down on a table near I decided to try the Ribeye. This was one of the best steaks I have tasted in years! And the bed of mashed potatoes was no joke either. Love the open kitchen. Really nice to know/see where your food is coming from. We will definitely be coming back. read more

My wife and I recently had the opportunity participate in M Grille's Four Course Wine and Dinner and it was the best wine and food pairing I have been to in quite some time. The wines were fantastic and the food pairing couldn't have been better. Dining at M Grill is an opportunity to enjoy unique dishes with an Asian flair. In September M Grille hosted our 70 person wedding in their private dining room, M Space. The food and service were outstanding. Each dish was presented beautifully and was delicious. The guests commented on not only the variety, taste and visual appeal of the dinner. They also expressed their appreciation that the cuisine was not the typical wedding or banquet fare. My wife and I had the treat of having a meal prepared by the very talented and hard working owner. She cooked beef noodle soup, chicken risotto, and strawberry honey rolls. The soup was savory and flavorful. The beef was moist broke apart with a spoon. The risotto was excellent as well. Absolutely amazing!! The space is beautiful. We were there for parents weekend for our USC student. The food was delicious, service was friendly & attentive. Just finished another fantastic dinner at MGrille!!! The three of us had shrimp & scallops, short ribs, and the special duck, and all were delicious!
