In a leap of faith, I walked over and ordered the shrimp ceviche, shrimp taco and some fresh fruit. I'd highly recommend this place! The ceviche was fresh and had a very flavorful lemon taste. The shrimp taco was grilled and contained a chipotle sour cream, grilled onions and cabbage- it was fantastic! It was so good that I didn't even need to add extra salsa. I didn't realize this place was also a Mr. Taco!!! I just referred all of my colleagues to "the awesome breakfast burrito place across from the courthouse." Due to a scheduling clusterfizzle one of my colleagues and I found ourselves in Riverside and hungry. I had the pico de gallo fruit bowl and she had a cheese quesadilla with rice and guacamole. The fruit, like the fruit from the Mr. Taco down the street, was freaking delicious. And you get a ton of it topped with chile powder, salt and lemon. Great flavor combination. I added some of the house hot sauce to add even more zing. :) Habanero hot sauce? I dunno, but it was spicy and flavorful. I also got to sample the cheese quesadilla. It hit the spot and came with a nice big scoop of guacamole and spanish rice. Nom nom nom. All of the surrounding food seemed on par with the other location. Which is to say, looked amazing. I've been to Mr. Taco a few times before court appearances, so I've only had their breakfast burritos (which are awesome, by the way.). Today, I'm here for jury duty, so I was excited to try Mr. Taco for lunch. This is definitely a hole in the wall Mexican joint. There is no indoor seating, so you have to sit at concrete tables with umbrellas or take your food para llevar. Today is a particularly hot day, but I sat in the jury room ALL morning. Table in the shade it is... I ordered an all meat carne asada burrito...meat, onion, cilantro, and a side of salsa. What more do you need? The burrito was made quickly and came out piping hot. The carne is tender and juicy, but not enough to make a huge mess. The salsa is actually pretty spicy, but won't make you sweat (leave that to sitting outside). I never put the burrito down until (sadly) it was gone... Mr. Taco is very good, and I will definitely be back when I am in the area. However, it's nothing really to go out of your way for. On my scale of zero to King Taco (5), I give Mr. Taco a good solid 3. Enjoy! read more

Ran across the street from the Historic Riverside Courthouse to grab a quick lunch. M Taco is a staple for the Courthouse crowd. Lawyers, litigants and courtroom staff all end up at M Taco eventually. I had the Two Shredded Beef Taco lunch with rice and beans. Not too bad, the ingredients were fresh and flavorful and the preparation was quick. My compadre had the Chicken Taquitos with just rice (by choice) and reported that it was pretty much as expected. All in all, not bad. The staff is efficient and friendly. So, if you ever find yourself in downtown Riverside, by the old, beautiful Courthouse, stop by and give M Taco a try. read more

Customer service was really friendly! Cashier guy kept on smiling and saying thank you. It was pretty quick to get my tacos which made me excited. I ordered two shredded beef Hardshell tacos. First bite there was undercooked meat but a few more bites in and the tacos weren't that bad. It was missing some flavor to me in my opinion but maybe a 2nd try WOULDNT hurt soon. Before playing a round of golf, I decided our group should save some money and eat off course since there would likely be no food at the course we were playing. So we drove around looking for a taqueria and had no luck. We were looking for a simple joint that had tacos for a buck, but since we were hungry, we decided to stop at Mr. Taco. I mean, with a name like Mr. Taco, you'd think they'd sell cheap tacos right? Nope. The tacos weren't cheap and the best value we could get was the combo which was $5.50. Add a drink to that and you're close to $7! That's just too much for any Mexican joint for this cheap bastard.
