I really wish they had a Chinese food spot like this nearby me. Prior to meeting with someone I had lunch here. I was blown away by the many variety and affordable pricing. Monday through Friday they offer great lunch pricing. They also had lunch pricing for the weekends as well. And they had great family combo sets which is what I went with. I came with one other person and we decided on the 3 people dinner set which included eggrolls, choice of soup, broccoli beef, orange chicken, chow mien, and choice of rice. Before our food came out the nice waitress brought us complementary fried wontons and sweet & sour sauce to munch on. It was a great start to our meal. The eggrolls were vegetarian. And for my soup I got the hour & sour which was really nice and comforting. The person I came with got their egg drop option which they enjoyed. For rice we went with the fried rice option instead of just white rice. It was on the blander side but we dressed it up with some table soy sauce. The chow mien was good but the texture of the chicken in it was a little odd. We still chowed down on it though. The beef broccoli was probably the best thing there. It was so flavorful. The orange chicken were very large pieces. The sauce on it was good. We were blown away by how much food we got and ended up having a lot of left overs. Our entire meal was priced slightly below $50. What a great deal! Our waitress was super nice and food came out quick. She made sure to check on us. The inside of the restaurant is casual but spacious. Oriental Chinese Cruise recently closed due to water issue. The restaurant is open now! Yay! This restaurant been open for several years and recent year's received a new exterior paint color that better matches the plaza. Oriental Chinese Cruise also updated to the dining room. The addition of larger windows makes the space feel much brighter and more inviting. I also noticed a patio seating which I think was available but likely missed due to bad lighting. Thankfully, some things haven't changed--the ladies that provide the service remains as warm, courteous, and welcoming as ever. I usually order to go here -- veggie items like tofu. The mapo tofu is not spicy enough but the curry tofu is. This time I asked for non-fried curry tofu, should had went with the fried as the color and flavor is a bit off! read more

Specializing in American Chinese cuisine, this restaurant serves weekend specials that we got for lunch. I ordered the black pepper beef ($14.95), which also came with fried rice, hot and sour soup, a vegetable egg roll, and a chicken wonton. The beef slices were tender and thin with juices remaining in the meat. However, the dish overall seemed a little too oily for my palate. The fried rice was good and didn't have an overpowering flavor. The side dishes accompanying the weekend special were adequate. However, the vegetable egg roll was oily, and I had to wipe my fingers each time I picked it up. The little chicken wonton was wrapped in a greasy aluminum foil that wasn't very pleasant to open. I found the hot and sour soup adequate, but I've eaten better elsewhere. Despite some minor disfavors with the food, the weekend special is still cost effective, allowing you to get a big lunch for under $15. There wasn't a wait, and we got immediately seated. We got our food relatively quickly, and our server came back to ask if I needed more water. The ambience is relaxed and quiet with peaceful piano music in the background. Really great lunch special for an affordable price! I work down the street and wanted to try this place out (tired of chain restaurants) and Oriental piqued my interest with their lunch specials. Located in a bustling plaza, the restaurant is clean yet plainly decorated. It is a small restaurant with only 12-15 tables, including booths. Walking in, you're greeted by a large fish tank with some very large fish. The restaurant was very busy, and it looked like only one server was taking orders, refilling waters, running food, etc. I was seated and waited a little bit to get my order taken and for my food to come out, but the wonton chips and hot and sour soup held me over until my lunch came to the table. The hot and sour soup was delicious and piping hot. The orange chicken:rice ratio was perfect! The orange chicken was thinly battered and crispy and the white rice was cooked perfectly without mushiness and a great flavor. I left satisfied and full and I would definitely try more lunch specials! For less than $15, their lunch specials are definitely worth a try! read more

I'm going to come back because Kevin works here. Context: when I first came, I went to the restroom. I'm wheelchair bound and it makes it awkward to get around at times, I was thinking I'd see if they had outdoor seating. Kevin was so observant of my presence in the restraunt and had a chair pulled out for me at a table when I came out. I was so touched that he noticed me come in and was ready to seat me. It made me feel welcome, and I decided I didn't want to eat outside anymore. I was there with my dad. Kevin helped give us good recommendations since it was our first time ordering. He smiled and was so friendly to us. The food was good, but the service was outstanding! Kevin made sure our jasmine tea had fresh refills at appropriate moments. He didn't hover, but he was sensitive to the right times to check in. We received really good service because of him. Makes me want to bring friends back here for lunch or dinner. Everything we ordered was good, but I personally recommend the Sautéed Fish Fillet with veggies! Very tasty! read more

Good and affordable Chinese dishes. They have a great Lunch Specials menu that I unfortunately missed so I'd have to return another day to try! The crispy pan fried noodle was good. A bad cold always gives me the craving for spicy Chinese food to help clear my sinuses. I haven't gotten food from here in a while so I decided to call in a to-go order. The whole shopping center where it is was recently renovated and the exterior is all new. I feel like the inside has been cleaned up as well. There is another restaurant next door, but in the evening most of the other businesses are closed so parking is no problem. The last time I called in a to-go order, I remember arriving and there were many people also waiting for to-go orders and I had to wait almost 30 minutes for my food. This time there were three other people waiting ahead of me, but in under five minutes they all got their food, and mine came out only a few minutes later so things were running a lot smoother this time. The pan fried potstickers were good and come with a generous serving size of eight. Why get only one container of hot and sour soup when you can get two for only a few dollars more? The Kung Pao shrimp was also good. There were a lot of shrimp and the veggies were nice and crisp. The soup and shrimp were both more mild than usual for a regular order at a Chinese restaurant. After the fact I saw that their menu says you can order the spicy dishes mild, medium, or spicy. I would think it would be medium by default but I feel like mine was mild. I'll be sure to specify medium next time as this order didn't do much for my cold. I'll keep OCC in the Chinese restaurant rotation. read more

We really like the staff and the food is mostly really good...BUT, we have had the Orange Chicken several times and only once was it really good. More than half of the chicken was too small, very uneven pieces, and chewy,and stringy. We have complained before, but it's still bad. VERY disappointing. Should have returned it on June 12th, but we didn't. Next time I will speak to the owner to complain. I hope they read these reviews.very unhappy read more

Oriental Chinese Cuisine is located off of Kraemer and Yorba Linda Blvd. It is easy to locate and access. Parking is plentiful. The inside is clean and the space is maximized without overcrowding. The front of the restaurant was mainly attended by one server but she was on top of keeping everyone happy with drink refills and any other requests. Although we came in during the peak of the lunch rush, our food came out pretty quickly and piping hot. A complementary bowl of fried wonton skins and sweet & sour sauce are set out for each table. I went with the Mongolian Beef lunch special which also comes with choice of soup, steamed or fried rice, and a spring roll. The beef was beautifully seasoned with a good ratio of meat to vegetables. There was actually enough leftover for me to take home with me for a late afternoon snack. There were a few other items on the menu that I'd like to try, so I'll definitely be back. read more

We were really craving chinese food and found this place on yelp. We decided to give it a shot due to its super high reviews. Once arriving this place was PACKED. it's a small restaurant and a little window in the back to order. We waited in line for 30 minutes and was told to find a table somewhere. The staff was super busy because it was just2 people running the whole restaurant. The togos were CRAZY busy as well. People were coming in and leaving with shipping boxes full of food togo so we had a good feeling that the food was going to be good. We ordered the almond chicken, sweet & sour chicken, green bean chicken and chicken chow main. Everything was sooo delicious. I loved the almond chicken because it was pretty much a mushroom chicken yet with a nutty flavor. The sweet & sour chicken was the tables favorite because it's hard to find good sweet and sour yet they did it very well. The staff was very apologetic due to high wait times for food and service yet it was highly understandable since it was very busy. Oddly enough this place gets better and better every time I go. This last visit we did one of the family meal deals they offer. This $40 deal included plates of orange chicken, broccoli beef, chicken chow mein, and fried rice. They top it off with 3 egg rolls and three bowls of the egg soup.. I must say, the orange chicken was beyond 5 stars. Perfect flavor, absolute perfect crisp - the classic favorite everyone loves. Sadly the fried rice was scorched and the broccoli beef was too slimy for my liking... They have lunch specials too which make for appealing quick meals. The restaurant seems to have its dinner peak from 5 to 7pm, and they get a pretty heavy sum of take out orders as well. The staff is always friendly, even when rushed with high demand. The food was amazing . My husband has been talking about this place forever since it's by his job so I was really excited to try it . It did not disappoint! The service was phenomenal. They answered all our questions about their foods that were not pictured on the menu and were constantly checking in with us throughout our meal. Extremely friendly staff !
