    Chili Wontons & Thai Tea

This is a HOLE IN THE WALL restaurant. I did not expect much, I was just in the area hungry for anything. However, this place IMPRESSED me. Their shrimp wontons with chili oil are sooo good. Their noodles are not my favorite but their dumplings are so good. The guy who took our order was super helpful!! He also mistaken our order and ended up letting us keep them!

This is a dim sum restaurant, but not like other dim sum restaurants and not like a regular restaurant either. It is a very small space, and most of it is taken up by the steaming and cooking of the dim sum. You order on your phone and everything comes out to your table. Everything we got is very fresh and pretty good. Stand outs are the braised chicken feet, ginger tripe, and the EGG TARTS. These egg tarts come out piping hot, and my family fights over them at the table, even though we order extra to take home.

We don't really have a solid dim sum spot in the area, so we were excited to try Tasty Dim Sum House as soon as they opened. The space is on the smaller side, and service can slow down when it's busy, especially if there are a few big orders ahead of you. We did takeout and definitely should've ordered ahead, lesson learned. That said, the food was worth the wait. We ordered several dishes and everything was really good. Next time I'd like to dine in and try a few more items, especially the spicy beef and the wonton noodle soup, which looked great. Overall, a much needed dim sum option in the area and one I'm happy to go back to.

Got lunch here and it was easy to find parking and seating inside. The dim sum was all very fresh and cooked well! If you're looking for a quick dim sum fix this is a great spot. There was one employee running the front of the restaurant and he was doing a great job taking care of us. The restaurant is clean and quiet with indoor and limited outdoor seating. They utilize a system where you scan the QR code at your table and place your order from your seat. Everything came out quickly! My only problem was with the noodles and broth in the wonton noodle soup - the noodles were overcooked and the broth was quite watery, but the wontons were very delicious. Overall I enjoyed my experience here and will be back for more dim sum!

Half of my order (har gow, spareribs, phoenix claws, and rolled noodles) which was plenty for my lunch.

Tucked away in a strip mall and next door to a pho restaurant is this dim sum place. It's a tiny restaurant with a handful of tables. You can order on the kiosk pad or on their website for pickup. I ordered for pickup the shrimp har gow, phoenix claws, spare ribs and rolled noodles (no meat). My total was around $26 which was not bad considering most places seem to be that price range now. Even though I took it home, it was still warm and fresh. It was actually enough for 2 days (for 1 person). I enjoyed everything except the spareribs... it had some orange squash or something like that and I wasn't a fan.

Great tasting and freshly made dim sum. The portions were big and delicious. You placed the order via a QR code and the food came out in less than 10 minutes. The staff were nice and attentive. The ambiance is casual, bright and airy. Plenty of parking spots out front.

You should really stop by this dim sum spot! It's right next to the pho restaurant where we grab our lunch. They sell dim sum, and we actually ordered 3 items to go for our next event. The shumai is seriously good--and they're a nice, bigger size, too! Plus, the steamed buns with the custard filling are absolutely delicious. They do have dine-in seating if you want to eat there, but it seems like most people just order takeout. If you do pop in, check out the nice decorated wall inside!

This is probably the best hole in the wall dim sum place in the area. Yeah, it's small but boy is the food delicious. I love dim sum and was a bit sad with how limited the options are out here without having to drive 30+ mins away. I think they could stand to use a bit more help given how busy it looks like it could get. But nonetheless they did a great job getting everything we needed at a reasonable time. I wish i took more pictures but I definitely recommend all your normal dimsum classics. They do it very well here and the portion size is fairly big.

Tucked in a sparse plaza, this small dim sum place is warm and welcoming, with chairs outside and a "Now Open" sign hanging on top. Seating inside is limited and filled up quickly during lunch, so you might end up eating outdoors in the hot weather if there are no seats available. They have the traditional dim sum menus you fill out with a pen, but there are also QR codes inside that let you order from your phone. **Note: When you walk in, they'll ask if you want water or tea. I thought this meant the tea was complimentary (as it usually is at other Chinese restaurants that ask) but that wasn't the case here, so I was surprised when I saw it on the bill. *Shanghai Soup Dumplings: These come as your standard 4-piece order, each in its own aluminum tartlet pan. The skin is thicker at the bottom and a bit difficult to remove from the pan, so it's easy for the broth to spill out. That said, they had a good amount of meat, which I liked. *Steamed Shrimp Dumplings: I liked these! They were your standard har gow dumplings, and they tasted great. It's my go-to dim sum dumpling to order overall. *Pan-Fried Daikon Cake: These slices were thick and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had nice little chunks of radish throughout. This one was my favorite of the three because I felt it stood out a little more than the rest. Service was attentive and friendly, and I waited about 15 minutes for my three dishes during the lunch rush. Parking is ample, and the food is decent overall. I just wish the tea situation had been communicated more clearly: I should've paid closer attention to my fellow Yelpers' warnings beforehand!

Just ordered takeout. Ordered the Shrimp Roll and Deep Fried Sesame Balls. Just two items was $15. Cashier said it would take 15 mins and it took exactly 15-17 mins to be done. Very long time for just two items. Shrimp Roll was good quality with big portion of shrimp and thick rice sheets than usual. Sesame ball was good and hot, but I think it's red bean and not mung bean. A place I would order out but not eat there

We really enjoyed the dim sum at Tasty Dim Sum House. At first, we thought it was a little bit pricey in comparison to other spots, but the portion/size of each dish was actually much larger. Every bite was very flavorful and the quality was excellent. High recommend getting the shu mai, shrimp & leek dumpling, and shrimp and scallop dumpling. Super tasty! Another big plus- there wasn't a wait for a table and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

To get to the point, dim sum wise, I'd give it a range of 2.75 to 3.5 stars. But I'll round the overall experience to 4 stars given that the two guys who were there serving us were definitely above average (better than the service you'd get from place like NBC, Capital, Sam Woo, etc...) One of the guys was very polite or in Cantonese, you could say that he was very hak hey. The place was clean and has plenty of seating for tables of four. It's not huge and they don't have big round tables with lazy Susans for large parties. As for the dim sum, I was pleasantly surprised. It's not the best dim sum and if you compare it to places in SGV or Rowland Heights, it holds its own, maybe slightly below those dim sum standards. But keep in mind that this is a pretty legit dim sum place for being out in the middle of east Anaheim. After being seated, you scan a QR code at the table and order from there. Each item is slightly below $7 per dish. Here are some of the legit options: the best thing was their ngow bak yeep (tripe). The other dishes that were not bad were the ha gow (shrimp dumpling) not bad but not great, siu mai (pork dumpling) was good, spicy wonton (you get 8 and it was pretty filling). The don tot (egg tart) crust was pretty flaky but the custard was lacking a little bit but overall pretty good. The pie gwut (ribs) was meaty and not fatty but lacked black bean and some flavor. The hom siu gok (fried pork dumpling) has a good shell texture but the filling had a flavor that's not quite there. I'd say the worst item was the seaweed wrapped shrimp roll. The fried part wasn't flaky enough, kind of hard. The lemon black tea was okay, maybe lacking some lemon flavor. The bok Choy was okay, nothing fancy. In short, if I'm in the area and wanted a dim sum fix, I'd go back.

Excellent dim sum. Located in an obscure strip mall undergoing renewal. Lots of free parking. This location has been open for 6 months. (Sister location in Chino Hills.) We arrived early, just after opening on a Tuesday morning. Two college-aged couples were already seated and eating. Limited inside dining area. Couple of tables outside. Clean & neat. Excellent, attentive service. Lots of take-out orders were picked up while we were there. We ordered ... #2 Rice Mushroom Shrimp Shui Mai #3 Leek Shrimp Dumpling #5 Steamed BBQ Pork Bun #10 Chicken/Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf #23 Yu Choy Sum (steamed spinach) #35 Seaweed Shrimp Rice Every dish was delicious. We ordered seconds of #3 & #35. Yummy! Disappointment: BBQ Buns were tasty but smaller than what I've had at other dim sum restaurants. By the end of our meal, new expectant diners waited for available seating. They're pretty busy. Go and enjoy.

The beef with the scallion pancakes was sooo tender. The cucumber salad was extra refreshing with the perfect balance of savory and tangy. You also can't ever go wrong with spicy wontons, pan fried buns, popcorn chickens, or braised green beans. Yum! Huge bonus: the restaurant is directly connected to Ben Gong's Tea. Whenever I'm in Garden Grove, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine will always take precedence. However,…read moremy most recent trip pivoted from the norm, and Noodle Star became the destination. The end result? Reasonable prices, warm service, and very tasty food. Like so many Chinese restaurants, the name and theme is inherently confusing. Up until last year, the place was Harbor Garden and it's rebranded to Noodle Star ever since. The Chinese name ("川粵" aka "Chuan Yue") would imply there is a Sichuan + Cantonese component to the offerings, despite the words "teppanyaki" and handmade noodles (手工麵) noted on the exterior as well as on signs on the interior. Typically any restaurant that dabbles in multiple regional Chinese variations (Sichuan, Cantonese, Shanghainese, Lanzhou, etc.) is a huge flight risk. Surprisingly, it all worked out. All of my orders were from different regions of the country, starting with a Cantonese beef chow fun (乾炒牛河) that was delightfully smokey from the wok hei (#1) and the noodles and beef were silky and smooth. While the noodles aren't as wide as I would have liked, they were still 100% workable in the dish. The Taiwanese style popcorn chicken (鹽酥雞) was wonderfully fried and the chicken was still juicy on the inside. Their napa cabbage + shrimp + pork steamed dumplings (白菜豬肉蝦水餃) were pillowy soft and steamed perfectly. They were plump and not too doughy; which is very appropo for a northern Chinese dish. The biggest surprise may have come from the soup dumplings (小籠包), which had just the right amount of soup and a very delicate dumpling skin that was downright excellent. The service was kind, attentive, and very bilingual with Mandarin and English. Prices might feel high to non-Cali folks, but the spectrum is very much on the Socal average. (#2). Bathrooms were mostly clean and the seating options were plentiful; solid for large and small group action. Parking can be tough on the weekends since it's a strip mall. I already know that I'll be back. If I was able to order 4 regions and they all came out excellent (#3), I can only imagine how excellent the rest of the house special group of dishes will be. __________ (#1) "Essence of the wok" -- it's a thing. (#2) At $15-19 for most dishes. (#3) Did we get lucky?

Parking was plentiful as this restaurant is located in a shopping center where there's a Korean grocery store, Zion Market. We were seated right away. It's a casual atmosphere with a decent amount of tables. I let the server know that it was our first time there. She was doing her best to be helpful to suggest some popular items. Our dinner started off with the wonton soup ($16.95) We chose not to have noodles with it. I intended to order the pork, but what came out was a combination of pork and shrimp in the wontons. The wontons were a good size and had good flavor. There was nothing else that came with it except the broth. No vegetables. I feel like it was a small amount for the price point. Next up, the minced pork with string beans ($18.95) were brought out. The green beans were delicious and not overcooked and still had a crunch to it. The minced pork was seasoned very nicely and complemented the vegetable well. And for the next dish, this was my favorite of our dinner, the two meat combination of barbecue pork and crispy roasted pork ($26.95). The crispy pork was amazing! The outer skin had a nice crunch to it, and there was a good balance of pork and fat. The barbecue pork was sweet and savory. I think we over ordered one dish too many. That's ok because we had some leftovers to take home. Lastly, we had the house special filet mignon ($27.95). This came with a lot of onions and some traces of green bell pepper. I believe it was Thai basil that was part of this dish, which I really liked! The service was nice and attentive, without being intrusive. That usually doesn't happen too often at these restaurants. It looks like they work as a good team. Another server handed us a fork and knife to cut the crispy pork and fillet mignon chunks. That was thoughtful since we didn't ask for it. We really enjoyed our dinner and will be coming back more often!

This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

We ordered the classic dishes, including salt and pepper fried pork chopsand salt and pepper fried shrimp, but the taste this time around left a lot to be desired. These two dishes lacked the crunchiness and flavors that these fried entrees are supposed to showcase. We found the pork chops to be dry and tough, as if it was prepared a while ago and sitting out for some time before it made its way to our table. The shrimp was not impressive either. At least the shaking beef or bo luc lac was good. The beef chunks were tender, and the flavors were on point. Bonus points for the broth that is complimentary during lunch. Also the complimentary orange slices were a nice touch to end our meal. We'd still return for the lobster and noodle when the occasion comes up.

My Mom and I come here often for dine-in service and also to go. The staff is pleasant, attentive…read moreand courteous. Most of the time we come here for lunch as they have a FANTASTIC LUNCH MENUE at very decent prices (please note the lunch menu does present smaller portions) The restaurant is always clean, well maintained and with ample seating.

We came right at opening and were seated promptly. However, we were not attended to nor provided…read moremenus for an entire for 15minutes after, which might be longer if I did not get up on my own to ask for menu at the front. When asked for menu, the server said sorry it's bc they don't have alot of menu books available but proceeded to give me 3 out of like 10 that I see they have. So they obviously had some! There were only 3 tables that had customers. After that taking the menus, we were again not attended to for 20-30minutes, noone brought us water or ever asked if we were ready. We had to flag them, once again. They were at least 3 servers so it's not like they were short of help when there's only 3 tables full at the time. It's like they were ignoring us. We proceeded to order 9 dishes that took awhile to come out. Only 1 dish came out which was the walnut shrimp and then more came out 15minutes later. How do they expect our big party to start eating with just 1 dish. We also had to wait literally 30minutes with nothing to eat for 3 dishes at the end when we finished everything else already. We had to ask about it 3 times. They need better timing in everything.... I noticed a couple tables having the same problems. As for the food, it was alright. The honey walnut shrimp and fried salted pepper shrimp was not crispy. The peking duck was actually great, one of the best. But it is not worth their service & other foods.. There are tons of chinese food options out there, we will not be coming back here. 2il
