I highly recommend this particular Maaco. These guys took care of me. I had originally gone up the street to another body shop to get an estimate for my bumper and they were trying to replace the whole thing despite only a few clips missing. I'm so glad I decided to drive up the street to this particular Maaco. The supervisor provided me with such great service and he was very honest. It was clear the other shop was trying to rip me off. Al, the manager told me there was no need to replace the whole bumper. He went ahead and gave me an estimate for the bumper repair and a quote to paint my entire car. So apparently my review failed to post but I needed to make it a priority to get this up... This past January, I was in desperate need of body work and repairs on my 2004 Honda Accord that was my dearly departed mother's vehicle. My mother passed away from lung cancer and one of the last things she made me promise was to take good care of the Honda. The vehicle's Blue Book value is less than $3k but the sentimental value is priceless. My mom and I shared countless memories, both great and bad, during the good times before she was diagnosed with cancer and all throughout her 7 years of treatment. Our last moments together were in that car, when I had to race her to the Emergency Room the for what was to be the last time. Whenever I sit in the drivers seat I feel her embrace and remember holding hands as we drove about. The sentimental stuff aside, I took the vehicle to the Maaco off Kearny Villa road after speaking with Al Ramirez, the store manager. Al is a no nonsense guy that tells you how it is and won't try to upsell or pitch you on what you don't need. He's a standup person and he takes pride in his work as does his team. After some discussion and explaining that times were a bit tough on my pocketbook, Al gave me a very generous price on their best paint option. The vehicle had probably 30+ dings, numerous dents, a busted trunk lid, messed up bumpers, and all the trim was peeling away from years of heavy use and neglect. To say it was in bad shape externally is a true understatement! That said, the vehicle never missed a tune up, service, or oil change from DCH Honda where we purchased it and only has 120k miles which is just broken in for a Honda; in all honesty, that car will probably outlive me! Al let me know that when he gets done with it, the vehicle won't be perfect but it'll look 100% better than it did. Aside from a bit of miscommunication on the front bumper which he thought he could rig back on but ended up being too warped from so much damage, all went perfect. Even after having to order a new bumper post-paint and bodywork, Al gave me a VERY fair price to have the bumper done again after purchasing a new one from Honda. I was blown away with the final results! The vehicle isn't perfect but it's damn near close to perfect and I don't feel embarrassed driving it as my daily-driver like I did prior to his team working their magic. I even threw some new wheels on it to replace the original hubcaps that looked horrible. I've gotten tons of compliments and it's all thanks to Al and his team. I'd like to send a huge shoutout to Al and the Maaco team, albeit extremely late, and recommend Maaco off Kearney Villa Rd. to anyone wanting a fair price, for paint and bodywork, from an honest person. Came here after being recommended Chris and Al from two different body shops in Kearney Mesa who aren't fans of working on older cars. Brought a 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser that had a messed up driver's side door, weird two-tone paint scheme on the bottom parts of the doors that another owner did (which was falling off since it was sprayed on top of factory clear coat), and 24 years worth of dents. Walked in and spoke to Chris and later Al. Both were upfront about what they would be doing and what to watch out for in the future with the panels they wouldn't be working on since I was just asking to get the sides done. Got quoted a more than fair price for this monster of an SUV and got it back after a week. These guys killed it. It was a factory-quality paint job and auto body work that even came with a detail! Years of sitting under the relentless sun had taken their toll, leaving the clearcoat on the hood of my pickup in rough shape. It was late on a Saturday--just before closing--but Al still took the time to give me a quick estimate. I already had a rough idea of what I was willing to spend to have the hood redone, and to my surprise, his quote came well under that number. That was all I needed to hear--I left the truck in his hands. To my amazement, Al called me Monday afternoon to say the truck was ready for pickup! When I showed up Tuesday morning, I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the work. The paint wasn't just limited to the hood--they had skillfully blended it into the surrounding panels so the color flowed seamlessly with the rest of the truck. My 2020 Subaru Forester Touring had paint peeling from the hood and needed to be stripped down and repainted. My back tailgate was peeling as well. I took my Subaru to many different auto body shops and most shops were quoting me around $2,000 to strip/sand down and repaint the hood and back tailgate. I decided to go to Maaco and they quoted my $1,000. At first, I thought it was too good to be true, but after doing some research, I learned that Maaco offers a 3-5 year warranty for paint jobs. None of the the other paint and body shops were willing to do a warranty that matched Maaco's or match their price. Of course, all the other paint and body shops warned me that Maaco uses inferior products and it's not possible to do work that cheap. After Maaco re-painted my Subaru hood and back tailgate, it looked like a brand new vehicle, I am so happy I chose them. When I took my Subaru into Maaco, I met Chris and Al, and both were amazing to work with. I worked primarily with Chris and he was honest from the start and didn't try to overcharge me. He explained the re-painting process and made me feel very comfortable. In addition to being the cheapest paint option, Maaco also had the nicest and most honest employees. If you're thinking about repainting or getting body work done to your vehicle, at the very least, get a quote from Chris and Al and Kearney Mesa Maaco. Yesterday, June 9, 2025 I went to your shop at 5670 Kearny Villa Rd, San Diego, CA 92123 for my scheduled appointment to paint my Honda Odyssey 2005. I met a guy named Al Ramirez, the manager - as it listed on the business card found on the front desk, but when I asked for his name his response was "Al, but just for today". I asked him what his real name was on another day, and his response was "anything you want". To make it short, I asked him to give me an estimate to repaint my car and he gave me a reasonable estimate. I asked him to add a dent repair to the estimate, and he gave me a reasonable number as well. Then, he started to act very weird. When I asked him for a sheet with a step-by-step breakdown of the service costs, he took the estimate which was printed on a paper in front of me on the desk and he crumpled it and threw it in the trash. I asked him why he had done this and his response was "have a good day". Please keep in mind, I was very polite throughout the entirety of the conversation, never once did I have a change in tone or attitude. I told him this behavior is unacceptable and not necessary, and he repeated again "have a good day". I told him I needed the estimate and asked if he could reprint it. He picked the crumpled copy from the trash can and gave it to me and he said to me a third time "have a good day". A manager should act professionally and work towards the best interest of the business. I complained to the head office of Maaco and but I was told I need to deal with the owner directly. This behavior should not be accepted or tolerated. Here is the bottom line, if anyone is not interested in their job, they should be looking elsewhere. This past month, Jan 2026- I accidentally pulled my car, a 2013 Nissan Ultima, forward in a parking lot not realizing that a portion of a planter was directly in the path of my right wheel. My right wheel rolled over the edge and into the planter, I scraped the bottom of the car when I reversed to get out of the planter. it pulled my bumper loose, so I had something dragging under the car and the bumper was no longer attached on the right. I had done business with Al, the manager and his team at Maaco five years previous in which they completely took care of our 2000 Dodge Dakota truck that had been in a minor accident. First off my 4 Runner is a 1999 and getting the right parts for it was challenging, but this company handled it so well. Tyra is the person I dealt with mostly and let me tell you she's fantastic, and so knowledgeable. She guided me through all the decisions I had to make and kept in touch with me every single step of the way. She sent me progress photos and called me to see if I was happy as the job progressed. I mean the customer service was absolutely amazing. As for the way my truck turned out, it's been 2 weeks and I still walk down 3 flights of stairs just to go look at how beautiful it is! I do not recommend this Maaco location due to their unprofessional behavior, poor workmanship, lack of communication among staff, and dishonesty regarding repairs, which gives the automotive business a bad reputation. My daughter was involved in a minor collision someone hit her Toyota Camry while it was parked on a curb. She took it to Maaco Auto Body Shop and Painting for a price quote. They started with a fair price and told her it was just a bumper replacement, assuring her that everything else looked fine. They provided a quote and the same day After work me and my daughter went to the Toyota dealership for additional input on the bumper replacement. The dealership recommended replacing the bumper along with the brackets and hardware, so we purchased two new brackets. We then returned to Maaco to drop off the car for repairs. Before handing over the keys, I asked for a walkthrough of the planned repairs and pricing. I also spoke with the service writer who helped my daughter and questioned why only the bumper was being replaced. I informed him that a previous quote from another body shop included more than just the bumper. He replied that everything else "still looked good," but I insisted they use the new brackets we had just purchased. Five days later, my daughter picked up her car and we immediately noticed that the bumper didn't look properly fixed and the new brackets were not installed. I called Maaco right away to report the poor repair and returned the car back to Maaco at that point, a different service writer named Al Ramirez helped us, but he was extremely rude and unprofessional. He spoke to me with a bad attitude, used inappropriate language, and gave excuse after excuse. He even questioned why I brought the car to Maaco in the first place and told me I should have gone with the first shop that quoted me. read more

Tyra Titus did a fantastic job with a used car I picked up. It was a 2016 Nissan Altima with less than 60k miles on it, the car drove beautifully but looked awful. The previous elderly owner had backed into things, and parked a little too close to things because this poor car had dings all over it including a broken driver side mirror. After Maaco was finished with it, it was like a new car! I added a tint and changed out the hubcaps (Tyra's recommendation) and wow, I couldn't be happier with the paint job and body repair work!
