Tried this place for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed it. I live really close and have passed by many times and would always say I'll check it out and glad I finally did. The owner greeted me and was really kind. I ordered the spicy hummus, gyro wrap, and chicken kebab salad. It was all very flavorful. The tzatziki sauce was like no other and had a familiar taste I couldn't really hone in on what it was. I wish I grabbed more for my gyro because it was a pretty good size and was packed with meat. I've had many gyros in my day and I can say this one was well sized and also well priced for what you get. My wife's chicken kebab salad was also a hit. Not only was her chicken kebab very flavorful with Lebanese spices but the salad dressing it came with was also a very flavorful herby vinaigrette. I noticed there wasn't anybody inside the restaurant but it was also late. I also happened to notice that they had a lot of takeout orders ready to go. That tells me that this place is a real hit and many people come here for the cuisine. All in all, my wife loved the food and we will be returning again. Maan's is my go-to Mediterranean spot in North County - UNTIL I went in last week, paid $20+ for my meal, sat down to eat, only to realize I forgot to get hot sauce. I approach the register and ask for hot sauce and the worker wanted to charge me $1 for each little .5 oz of hot sauce???? I thought that was ridiculous. This place has literally been down the street from me forever and I finally walked through the door and honestly, why did I wait so long? They have real shish kebabs with several protein options, and we went all in on the family platter. Yes, it's a little on the pricier side, but the flavors are absolutely there and it felt worth it. My one suggestion would be to ease up a little on the sauce portions. I'd love to have both hummus and sauce with the platter instead of just one giant bowl of one or the other. I first knew about this place on DoorDash and I've ordered the kids meal through there. It was delicious so I finally decided to do pick up through their app and I got the chicken tikka kebab entrée with the salad and extra veggie kebab. Oh my gosh, the presentation alone was delicious. Don't even get me started on the flavor of the chicken. It's so simple but the flavors together is just absolutely decadent. I will always come here at least once a week. Huge wrap that was filling! The packaging was secure which I appreciated because wraps can fall apart very easily. I ordered the Shawerma Steak Wrap and it was delicious. What separates this wrap from others is the yellow Mediterranean pickles and the Sumac herbs which are two things I have never had before. I had to look up what sumac was and it sometimes gets confused with a poisonous plant! I now want to try their other wraps because I bet they are just as good! read more

I've been searching for an amazing Mediterranean food spot for a long time.. This one by far has been the best spot in Oceanside I've tried. I got the Chicken Tekah Kabob Entree with Tabouli salad instead of the greek and OH MY GOODNESS.. I've never been more satisfied with a plate. Their serving sizes are absolutely huge for a great price- and Pita is included, no need for an extra charge. They are all very sweet in there, service was super friendly and very welcoming. Idk I wasn't impressed. Got the beef shawarma plate and it was overall bland compared to some other places I've had. They need some better sauces or something to go on top. Their hummus also isn't great, and that's obviously a staple in this type of food. The only thing I did like was the dolmas. There are better Mediterranean food spots near by to get! read more

We went to this place twice and had a good experience. Food was tasty and filling. I got their gyro plate both times. It was very delicious and satisfying. Meat was cooked to perfection, soft and tender. I also really liked the side hummus and side salad. Salad dressing was really good, I got some more for my plate. My husband had falefal sandwich and a plate at different times and they were really good. Everything in combo appetizers were also really good. It's a self service place with friendly staffs. I think we'd go back if we are around the area. One thing we've noticed is every time we went there they were out of hand soap in bathroom. Used Maan's for a catering event for 35 people. I felt that Maan's really cared about providing great service from ordering recommendations to pick up. Food was ready as requested and packaged for easy transport to the event. Although it was an active evening murder mystery event, plenty of food was enjoyed throughout the night. The Maan's special salad was a huge hit with only a small portion left at the bottom of the bowl. We ordered the Tekah chicken and grilled vegetables. The chicken was delicious, fork tender and plenty! And, not a grilled vegetable was left over! We had a lot of basmati rice and pita bread left over due to the enormous amount provided. We had this restaurant cater lunch at work on Friday and it was SO good! Everyone seemed happy and I could've eaten the food all day! I was in the area the next close to the restaurant and needed lunch. So I went there very excited to have another delish dish from there. The waiter at the counter was big the friendliest, at all. But not a big deal to me. I ordered a wrap and was thinking to ask if a dip came with it or check but I did not. I wish I would've since it was so bland and didn't have a lot of hummus or oil on it. Besides the salty food, the owner is one salty human. I've lived in Oside near Temple Heights my whole life, so I remember when this center and Maan's first opened. I've been a bunch of times back then because there weren't many alternatives. I stopped going because the fat, bald, pale owner is such a douchebag. All the times I went in, he was never polite, but OK, I understand. I'm here to eat, not bother him with conversation. My final time going was when I asked if I could have an extra sauce, he said yes. I didn't get the extra sauce once I had the food. I asked again and he said it would be an extra fee, so now I have to pull my credit card out again? After that lie, I decided I would take my business to the newly opened Pita Guys in the plaza over. Unfortunately, I had to go back to this cold, unfriendly, smelly dump for a DoorDash pickup. (I saw his hardworking Mexican employees working hard per usual, but they don't seem to enjoy working for such a crap boss). While I'm waiting, another driver comes in and asks "Could I use your restroom while I wait for the order?" The rude, fat, bald, pale owner says "No. It's for customers only." I've never been good at minding my own business, so I ask, "Can you let the guy use it? He's a human being just trying to piss." The owner lies, his MO, "I'm just the cashier. Solid Mediterranean fare overall. I knocked it back a star because many menu items have no prices on them. Apparently there was a price increase, which I understand. But you need to let customers know how much things cost. The garlic sauce tasted more like garlicky mayo than real Lebanese style garlic sauce. Compared to other Mediterranean places their prices are lower, and the portions seem to be bigger. Great bargain. They are in Oceanside and easy to get to, there is some parkign up front and they are in a little strip mall. I ordered the burger about $6. Tasty. Moist. Not overcooked, not well done, closer to medium well. I asked for some of the toppings to be put on the side and they accommodated me very nicely. I also got the Shawarma Steak Jumbo Fries, about $11 or $12. A heaping mound of crinkle cut fries smothered in a tasty sauce. Very filling and delicious. I also got the Maan's Special Chicken. It's like seeking the diamond in the rough. After spending some time in Bahrain, I had been introduced to the wonderful treasure called a shawarma. Once they were ready, I was already ready for my order. I did not have to wait too long before my hot, fresh rolled up yummy goodness was served beautifully like a work of art. I was afraid to touch it. Unfortunately, it had to come to an end. As soon as I took a bite of my beefy roll-up, I envisioned a scene from the movie, "Ratatouille". The shawarma nearly made me cry. Actually, I almost did after I gorged myself. It was as if I had forgotten my manners... THAT... was the best shawarma I've had since my trip to Bahrain. This place was great! Very authentic Mediterranean food, and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken entree and added falafel, it came with rice, salad, pita bread, and 3 sauces that I have never tried before but they were great and very flavorful. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had excellent char on them. The falafel was delicious, probably some of the best that I've had. I could tell they were made from scratch with fresh ingredients. The rice was very unique I really enjoyed the large portion they gave me and the flavor was excellent. The pita bread also tasted home made as well. Food was really great, the hummus was a bit bland but I really enjoyed the other sauces I received. I had never had anything quite like them.
