Technicians were professional. electrician, for a 5 min job and charge me $150.00 is unacceptable. Just had total knee replacement. if not I would have done it myself. The plumber wanted to charge $900 for installing a heat recirculating pump and i already had the part. Not even a hour job. top is off charge me another $800 to replace me faucets. smh... This company is a rip off. I had an AC tech come out a few months ago. He sold me a yearly membership for $200 and claimed it was a great deal because you get 20% off for every service. Now that I've had the company come over a few time for estimates I've learned that the technicians put the 20% discount on all big jobs. Also, they can just give this membership away to whoever they choose, if the technician chooses you....weird system. A little while later I needed a plumber and called them again since I was now a member or neighbor or whatever they call it. The plumber came to my house to snake a drain, cost me hundreds of dollars and he said he would have had to charge more if he had to go on the roof. Well thank god he didn't because he already took half my week's pay for that service. He was nice but the price was outstanding just to snake a kitchen drain. A week later the drain had the same issue and was still backing up, I put bleach down the drain and had to leave it while I went on vacation. I called when I got back and said the problem was happening but that I put bleach down the drain and he did not snake it again. I still have the same problem and my drain smells. The plumber performed this service without diagnosing the problem first. I called them back one more time for my AC in my rental condo. The AC guy quoted me $4,300 to "repair" my AC and almost 10,000 to replace. In his estimate was a cost to replace my AC with a 2.5 ton unit even though I only have a 1.5 ton unit and a 750 square foot condo. He tried to convince me that it would be so expensive to try to repair the AC that I might as well spend 10,000 to replace it. He told me there are some leaks even though the unit was not even on, so how would be know if there are leaks? I called another AC company and the man said you can't know if there area leaks unless the unit is on. In his estimates he quoted me prices for top of the line parts for a unit for my 1 bedroom $150,000 condo. He looked at the estimate I was given by MAC 5 and was in SHOCK. This other AC company quoted me $4,000 less to replace my AC unit. At the end, he referred me to another company and told me that when I call companies make sure I ask for an estimate so that they do not charge me a service fee. All I received from MAC 5 was a bunch of bull**** and an estimate, but he did not mind charging me to come out that day. I've spent $800 on this company now and have hardly had any services done. Do not use this company. They sent an incompetent technician who started bitching immediately. He didn't do the job I hired them for, and overcharged for it. 3 flushes of the toilet later and it was like he was never there. I ended up having to pay someone else to actually do the job. When I spoke to their 'customer service' and showed her the invoice from the actual plumber, she shined me on with a "we'll look into it". Everything about this using these people was just awful. Service tech (Blake) came out to service our AC unit. $79 to come out to diagnose the issue. We were emailed an invoice with no price or link to sign for the repair and paid $100 to tech who said the difference will go towards our repairs. He said the parts department was closed already but he will call next day at 8:30 to set up the time that day to install repairs. He left immediately and we had to call the company to get the actual invoice. Extremely expensive for an under warranty AC unit! We never heard back from the tech or the company after that. No AC in extreme FL heat is no joke. I called three different times in the next 24 hour's being told the manager will call me back. No one else could set up the service or come out apparently? I had to email a cancellation and the tech bagged an extra $20 in his pocket. After reading the reviews I suppose we dodged a bigger bullet but I'm very interested in how a company with so many unsavory business practices is allowed to stay an LLC in FL.... read more

Their technician, Mario, came out on Thanksgiving when I had called at least two dozen other electricians with no responses from all. I had lost all 220 power and FPL said it was an inside problem(they were wrong). Mario diagnosed the problem in seconds. He then very patiently gave me options on updating service, but not a hard sell. The bill was high but that is because the company assumed he fixed the problem instead of just diagnosing it. They very quickly refunded, within days, the difference. FPL had to come out the next day and fix what was an underground wiring problem. So, my experience was excellent with both Mario and the company. I hope Christmas goes better. read more

Called Mac5 for a hot water leak in our slab. Came right over within an hour. Quoted us two repair scenarios. We ended up going with the whole home replumb. Over 10K to do the job. Installer named Jack came a week later and started the job. His van looked like a dumpster. Would you trust someone to work on your house that doesnt even take care of his office and tools? Was there for a few hours the first day, skipped the next day and came back for few hours the following day. This guy hacked and butchered my home up. All kinds of jagged holes, uneven pIumbing fixture placement and just no pride in his work. When he left at the end of the day, Jack said the water is now on and you can use it. After he left, We turned the faucet on in the kitchen and water was leaking everywhere. Went into two of the bathrooms and we had water leaking in there. I am Livid at this point. I called the office and told them I didnt want Jack back at our home. The ladies in the office were very nice and helpful. They told me a supervisor will be out on the following Monday. He showed up. He listed to our concerns and seemed to validate them. What was strange is that he kept trying to send Jack back. This was after I said I didnt want him back at my house. They sent Sergio over. He fixed the mess that Jack made and got us going. Sergio did a great job. And then comes Steven. He is the owner. He definately needs some etiquette training. They wanted to charge us $50.00 per hole they made to repair the drywall. Of course this is at discounted rate because they normally charge $69.00 per hole. My bathroom had 19 holes in it. $800.00 to repair just the bathroom. Let alone the other 17 holes in the house. $1800.00 to fix all the drywall. Sounds like a racket.This is after we have already spent over 10K on the plumbing repipe. Steven would not discount the drywall repairs any further. I asked him to do so because of all the problems we had. He would not budge. So i decided to fix it myself. Fast forward a couple weeks. We have free credit monitoring with our credit union. They alerted us that there is a second position lean on our property from Mac5 services. I was blown away in shock. Not only did we pay 1/2 of the job cost up front, when Sergio completed the job we paid the remaining balance before he even left. Called Mac5's office and they said we didnt do that. The city did it. That was a lie. Called the city and they said someone from Mac5 physically came down and filled out the lean paperwork. I cant begin to describe the dissatisfaction I have with this company. Not only did the butcher and hack my home up, they also put a lean on it. We gave them 5 buisness days to remove the lean or we would call our attorney. They did remove it. Please stay away from this company for plumbing. What a horrible experience. I will never use this company again. I am telling everyone I know about them. Stay away at all costs. read more

MAC 5's Plumber Sam came to my vacation property to fix a leak my neighbor noticed. I was given 3 options for a partial repipe. The customer service rep over communicated every step of the way. Compared to other plumbers in the area they gave me the best price and were at my house in less than an hour. Hands down the fastest. I was unable to be on site so they worked directly with my neighbor and even sent photos before, during, and after!!!! They were able to charge my card over the phone! I own a rental property that had a leak under the foundation. I went with Mac 5 because they were able to do address the problem that same week. The repair was actually to re-run all plumbing through the attic. They said it was a 1.5 day job for 2-people, but they book two days just to play it safe. For most of the first day there was only one person. Both people worked day 2. I didn't hear from them until almost 9:30 pm. They called and said I had to drive over, inspect the work (at night), and pay them right then. First, they shouldn't have been in the house working that late and keeping my tenants up. Second, they should have asked if that time was ok. They didn't. Instead, they demanded I pay them. I asked if I could simply inspect and pay the next morning. The worker asked if he could just get the tenant to sign on my behalf, I emphatically said no! He said he wanted to call his boss to get his input, then would call me right back. Within 2 minutes, while I was still waiting for the call back, I got a text from my credit card company. They had charged me $4500 without permission. And the only reason they had my CC number was because I used it for the $100 initial inspection, with no intention of paying with a CC. I don't have a high limit and that charge exceeded it. It went through, but blocked my card all the following weekend. They promised the dry wall cuts would be minimal and implied it would be just around the faucets. Well, there were literally 20 holes all throughout the house, some of the holes were 5 feet wide. The drywall damage was extensive. They even cut into a textured ceiling for no apparent reason. They moved an outside spigot 30 feet away to a different location. In addition to the drywall mess, I had 5 issues that I wanted either addressed or explained. It took 4 days before they would return my call. They finally sent a person out to fix only one items, he didn't even seem aware of the other 4. So, if you want poor workmanship, someone to illegally charge your credit card, and not return your calls, then I highly recommend Mac 5. read more

We called Mac 5 when we suspected a water leak. They were very prompt with their response. The person who came told us that he suspected several leaks and recommended a total repipe. With a "discount" the total came to 7200.00. The technicians did a thorough job and we thought we were done. A week later we noticed that we had water leaking into the garage. We called them again. The serviceman quoted us 4200 to pull up the laundry room floor as he suspected that the leak was under the floor in the laundry room. They charged us 200.00 to run the camera down the drain. We decided to get a second opinion and low and behold there was no leak in the floor but just a bad hose coming from the washer. If we would have gone with Mac 5 we would have had our floor torn up and the problem would not even have been solved. It seems to me that they should have checked the simplest thing first instead of going with the most expensive option.This makes me wonder if the repiping was even necessary. read more

I called and schedule an appointment for service on my a/c on 09/09/2022 early in the morning and spoke with a pleasant lady who then gave me a window time of 12-5 and we talked about a $50.00 promotion from the internet and was told there was a $79.00 fee just to show up and that fee would be waived if I agree to go ahead and let them perform the service suggested all was good until at 4:45 when I called again to see if I was still on schedule for that day and was told again by the pleasant young lady that i was still on schedule and would receive a call 30 to 45 min prior to the technician leaving his last job nothing was ever mentioned about there being a after hour emergency service fee for after hours so I continue waiting and again called to see if we where still on schedule and again was told yes and nothing else. At about 7:49 pm I got a miss call alert on my phone so i called back and it just rang and rang until I got a voice message saying the person was on another call so I called the office again and was told the technician was in route so I continue to wait and finally I received a call from the technician saying he was on the way, so after sometime after he shows up I meet him outside explain the problem and tell him i believe it's the capacitor so he goes into informing me that there's a $129.00 service fee for after hours emergency and I asked why since I had a 12-5 window and they were late and I was quoted a $79.00 service charge and about the $50.00 coupon and the $79.00 fee would be waived if I agree to complete the service to fix the a/c. So after agreeing to complete the job and 10 minutes to replace the capacitor he beings writing up the bill on his tablet and remembers to apply the $50.00 discount and hands me a bill for $317.00 without a break down of the service performed just stating that the capacitor and technician work performed. Now I'm not a genius but I'm also not the stupidest person as well and know a capacitor doesn't over $100.00 bucks so anyways I pay the bill keep the old on and looked it up and found several from $7.11 up to the highest costing $28.00 and Amazon had it for $14.00 which if I would of known I would of ordered it myself and installed as I mentioned at the beginning that I believed it was the capacitor. So after talking with the young lady the next day and asking for a member of management to call and ask to give me a better understanding of the bill, so as of today 09/16/2022 no call or anything from them. Beware of this company and get a better understanding of their window times if I had known of the after hours emergency charge ahead of time or it had been explained during my conversations with the office or technician I would of reschedule for a regular time...
