Brought the kids here to introduce them to our favorite haunt from our college days. Amazingly, despite some slight changes to decor, the food is the exact same. And I mean the exact same. They must still have the same supplier because the turkey gobbler tastes just as it did 25 years ago. The wings were top notch and the buffalo chicken sandwich was on point. I've been here several times and it's always been delicious. I highly recommend the Buffalo chicken dip - and they do NOT scrimp on size here. Fried pickle chips - ooh! That is a tang! The perfect college-town hole-in-the-wall sports bar burger joint. Out boys were playing baseball at Miami University's stadium so we stopped by after the game for lunch. Good beer selection and tempting menu. I got the shroom and Swiss burger - it was gigantic and delicious. Others tried the smokehouse burger, the Miami steak hoagie, chicken tacos. wings, tots, fries and the "Garbage Nachos" - huge portions, great taste! The service was welcoming and friendly chatting up all of the customers that came in. To be honest I was completely underwhelmed. The famous mac bits were hard to get down and the chili I ordered was mediocre. For all of the hype this place gets I was expecting a much better meal. I'm sure there are people who would die on the Mac and Joe's hill but you can count me out on that battle. 2 stars might be harsh but considering Bodega, Skippers and other great restaurants are less than a mile away, take your business elsewhere. read more

Had some time in between baseball games on the Miami University campus and found this lovely hidden gem nearby. It's a little hard to find as it's main door is down an alley, but so great! Food was delicious (mac and cheese bites were certainly a hit) and the staff was great. Excellent liquor selections (even had St. Germain--YAY) and the best burger I've had in some time! Maybe my favorite spot in Oxford. I've never had anything that wasn't good. Wings are good, hoagies and subs are good, salads are good. Burgers are great. Huge hand pattied 10 ounce burgers. My favorite is The Jammer. Gouda, house-made bacon-onion jam, and jalapeño straws. Get the tots, and order them crispy. Perfect. read more

Truly a hole-in-the-wall dive bar if there ever was one. Small but good food and nice sports decor on the inside. They have to label the main door as the entrance cuz it looks like an emergency exit. It is located in the alley and took us a minute to find since we were looking for the numerics on the main road. We liked it a lot. read more

We had a delicious lunch today at Mac & Joe's. It is rather pricey, and rates three stars only for that reason. Our lunch for two was $37 with only soda. The taste was fantastic and the food was fresh and hot. If going, watch for the daily specials, and I'm sure you won't regret it. Really awesome food in a small venue. read more

If you want a good meal that doesn't skimp on the trimmings then you'll enjoy this place. I got a bacon cheeseburger and fries and it was delicious! The burger was thick and juicy with thick cut bacon that just made it that much better. They gave me more than enough fries. I also got the mac 'n cheese bites because they were so highly rated. I thought they were just okay, nothing bad though. At first I didn't really want to pay the almost $9 for the burger but I ended up leaving with half of my meal left so I felt like I got my money's worth. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated and when we did it was a bit tight but nothing that would discourage me from going back. I would suggest trying to go during a non-peak time just so that you have a better chance of things being a little calmer. The servers were nice, even if they were probably a bit rushed because of the busyness. I definitely recommend trying this place if you're in Oxford. Also, just to warn you, the entrance is in the alley next to SoHi Sandwiches. My friend and I had some trouble finding it until she whipped out her phone with a 3D map. read more
