When I went they were pretty attentive. This one salesperson ask if we needed any help and at first I wasn't really sure what I wanted. She helped suggest different colors and helped me test out whatever I wanted. Not only did she help me but also my family that I was with. I thought the customer service was great. Love this place! I live near Richmond and decided to take a day trip to DC since the MAC in Macy's near me isn't that great. When I went to Pentagon City Mall, I headed straight to the MAC store. It was so tidy with awesome staff. I ended up being helped by Emily and she was wonderful! She helped me with all of my skincare and makeup questions and she made sure to be very specific about each product and how to use them. I would definitely recommend! read more

Understaffed--horrendous wait for a makeup artist. When a makeup artist (whose own foundation was slipping, BTW) paused near me, I asked her a question about the liquid foundation that she was unable to answer, and instead of going to ask another employee, as she had indicated, she went to work with another customer. I left, and now when I return to P. City, I'll go to the MAC counter at Macy's instead. read more

Every time I would come in this store, the sales associates/make up artists ARE NOT friendly and their customer service is trash. But on February 27 when I went to purchase make up, I was pleasantly surprise to have been helped by Lintle (Dee), who I think is THE BEST sales associate/make up artist that store has ever hired!!! She was super friendly, extremely helpful and her customer service was top-notch. That store needs to revamp their employees and hire more people like Lintle (Dee). Based on the service I received from Lintle, I give her a five star but the store overall a three star and that's only because of my awesome experience with Lintle.... Went into this store yesterday wanting to purchase a lot of makeup and have them show me how to apply it properly. I went into to the store and they were busy of course I stood around for at least 5 minutes before actually getting the attention of one of the workers and even then I had to approach her! I went up to her and told her I wanted to buy some makeup and wanted to learn how to put it on properly and she told me there were 4 people ahead of me so I asked how long it would be before i could be seen and she said 6:00 and at this time it was 2:00!! so basically she was saying it would be 4 hours before I could be seen I told her that wouldn't work for me because I was having my birthday dinner at 6:00 and she just looked at me like "Well that's your problem" I quickly left the store and headed down to the MAC store at Macy's and asked them to help me and they didnt even think twice I was shown how to put on my makeup by an awesome MAC girl and spent $400! and when I told the MAC girl who worked on my face what happened at the MAC store she apologized to me like it was her fault lol. So from now on when I need some makeup I will be heading to the MAC in Macys and wont even waste my time in the MAC store! Oh and if you go the MAC store in Macys ask for Lalia! she is amazing!! read more

Wayyyyy better than the knock off Mac girls at the Mac counter in the Macys. Though both locations could use a course in CUSTOMER SERVICE! They are so rude down there and have the worst customer service. I was browsing at the lip pencils in hopes to make a purchase and some bad weaved Mac chick with a blonde fro literally stepped right in front of me no excuse me no nothing to assist another customer. Don't waste your time with those girls. Come to this store right upstairs Mac where the girls are a tad bit (slight exaggeration) more pleasant and have a full stock of products. I had the most amazing experience in this store. I went in knowing what I want my daily made up face to look like, but had very little idea about MAC products. They are pretty busy despite my attempt to go on in miday on a Monday during the rain. I had to wait for about 10 mins. I was there to pick out a foundation. The makeup artist picked a color that just did not match or compliment my skin. I looked orange and corpse like. Of course all the associates contributed their ceremonious lie. In the end, the associated admitted that she did not like the foundation color choice but offered no correction or face wipes to get it off. Her recommendation was that it would look better in natural light. Upon leaving, two people in the mall looked at me and started laughing. I had a walk of shame back to the parking garage. Never again will MAC get a chance to play on my face. She had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to buy anything. I almost said yes, a real makeup artist! read more

I took a trip into the store because I wanted to explore new foundations. Upon entering the store, Jasmine greeted me and asked if I needed assistance. I explained to her that I felt I needed a different foundation as the one I'd been using wasn't working well anymore. She set me down and gave me a quick, educational skin lesson. She was extremely helpful and explained that my skin in the winter required a different foundation than my skin in the summer. She suggested a foundation that would work well for the season and applied it to my face. She also offered some winter skin care tips which I appreciated. Thanks to her I was able to get exactly what I needed without having to figure it out on my own. I would recommend that anyone shopping for makeup pay Jasmine a visit at the Pentagon City location! read more

I am not one to complain about customer service but I had to for this store. I received the worst customer service ever. No one greeted me, when I finally found what I wanted with no help, I went and stood in line. NO ONE HELPED ME FOR 10 MINUTES. They all looked at me and acknowledged my presence, but after I was huffing and puffing away and mumbling how ridiculous this is, they finally checked me out. I will never be shopping at that location again. They really need to revamp their customer service and the people they hire. read more

This was my 2nd visit to this store and both times I found the salesperson far from caring, friendly, or helpful. When I went into the store this 2nd time there was only one other person in the store...so I thought this would be a good time and maybe I could get some attention since I was trying so hard to find a new lipstick. It was a horrible experience and I even told the young lady that was helping me that I was not impressed by her costumer service and I felt she didn't care about my needs or concerns. She never apologized, nor did her attitude get better. Two days later I was still upset so I called the corporate office. I spoke to a young later named Melissa. She took my information and was apologetic...she said they would talk with her....hope this helps. I don't want her to get in trouble...just some coaching on costumer service. I am so disappointed in M.A.C. I saw on Facebook MAC was giving away free lipstick for national lipstick day. I thought it was a joke, so I called mac at pentagon city to ask if this was a joke. Spoke to Jeanay and she stated that it was not a joke. I asked her if it was all day and were they giving out full tubes of lipstick, she stated yes and never stated that mac was only giving out 100 tubes of lipstick to the 1st 100 customers. In addition, I saw it on the news and they never mentioned the first 100 customers would receive the lipstick and NEVER stated that they were only giving out 100. My family and I always buy mac and support mac that will end today. We went to mac at Macy's before 8:00 and stood in line and it was so unorganized, unprofesssional and Macy's had to call the police for a tube of mac! I didn't think I would almost have to endure police brutality for a tube of mac. NEVER I have I been so disgusted by a company in my life.. I really didn't care, however I have a young niece who loves mac and was totally disappointed. Mac really needs to do something to make long lasting customers satisfied! Turn your wrong into right!!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to hearing from you, however it mac company I see any indication of how this promotion was ran today than I probably won't hear from you... what a sorry excuse for a comapny!!!!!!!!! I came in here to because I was recommended to use their products. I walk in and asked for help and the lady asked me what I needed help on (I wanted a light coverage foundation) so she was getting ready to help me, until a customer came in asking for help. I respect that considering the fact that there was only two employees there. the lady told me that she was gonna just get the product and ring her up. I was okay with this cause it was her job. Let me just cut to the point. after helping her, she completely ignored me and decided to help two other people while I was waiting there for her, and the other artist is doing a makeover on a client so she obviously couldn't help me. I'm a pretty patient person but I wasn't going to stand there and wait to be helped. I went to the Mac counter in the Macy's and I was helped immediately! I was in and out within 10 to 15 minutes, and they gave me exactly what I needed. my advice is to just go to the counter in Macy's. you'll get better service there. read more
