I got my makeup done yesterday for a banquet by the AMAZING Gina. I'd like to formally recognize her for her talent and express just how pleased I was with how well she did my makeup. Pretty simple -- hands down the best make-up on earth. Everyone has got to have this. Long lasting wear and a ton of eye shadow colors to choose from -- great palette. One draw-back -- if you're a ginger kid, I'm not sure this is the best make-up for you, since you may want to go with softer tones. read more

I came in looking to get a gift card for my friend, so I was kind of expecting to be brushed off by the workers who were looking to help people actually buying makeup, but to my surprise... while I stood in line I instead asked frequently by a few employees if I was already being helped. Even though it was crazy busy that day and it looked like all the employees were helping multiple people at a time. I had my makeup done at the MAC store 3 months ago for my wedding. Since I didn't want to get bothered, I availed of their private makeup room in the back for $50. Not bad for MAC makeup plus they gave me a free mascara. Chase did a wonderful job! I'm still getting compliments about my wedding including my makeup. They said I was a glowing bride. Well, I was very happy on my special day, of course, but I think the makeup had something to do with it as well. Great job, Chase! Ok lets starts this off with the most important thing about this place....ELLEN!! She is AMAZING! I went into the store for the first time looking for help with finding the best makeup for my wedding. Yes the store was busy, yes there were only a few employees and yes she had to excuse herself from me a few times but dang it people "retail is unpredictable" You are not always going to have someone at your side your whole experience. Anyways back to the positives. Ellen gladly took me as a walk in and started her magic. She showed me lots of colors and made excellent suggestions but the most important thing she did....drumroll....she showed me how to apply the makeup properly when I was to be at home doing it myself!!! She wasn't just selling the product and pushing it out the door. She was explaining everything. I will definitely be going back to see her for my make up needs ) read more

I attended a makeup class there last night and it was amazing! The class was on Bridal Makeup and I learned so much! The best part was that it was very intimate with only about 6 girls, and 3 mac makeup artist there to help. All three were very personable and were eager to share their makeup secrets and techniques with us. We had plenty of time to ask questions and play with makeup!! I really enjoyed myself and loved that this mac store offered this type of class for the public to attend. I honestly cant wait until the next one! Hopefully there's one soon! read more

RUDE RUDE RUDE! I have been at this store several times, and everytime they pretty much blow me off. I've been wanted to get my shade matched and find a nice red lipstick that will work for me. Today was at LEAST my FIFTH attempt at this location. The ladies are extremely rude. If you aren't a regular there, expect to be ignored and brushed off. I am not into MAC cosmetics. They seem overrated to me but my friend is obsessed with MAC so we stopped in this store where she purchased $300 in makeup, yikes. Because she spent over a certain amount she was able to have them do her makeup for free. The girl who did her makeup had the attention span of a 3 yr old. She looked like a hot mess...her own makeup looked clownish. She was super talkative and friendly but she just wasn't paying attention to what she was doing. She kept wandering off and at one point she got a visit from her family causing her to walk off again. She was occupied with them for a good 10 minutes. That doesn't count all the other five million distractions that caused her to leave my friend in the stool with her makeup half done. On top of that she did a horrible job on my friends makeup. Her eyeshadow looked like someone just took some wet 'n wild and smeared it on her eyelid with a foam tip applicator full of dark blue makeup. I could not believe it. The girl again wandered off but luckily for my friend one of the other employees walked by and examined her makeup and actually started to fix it. She blended it out with a couple of other colors and made it look decent. Then Wandering Wanda returned and took back over. She filled in my friends eyebrows, which it took her three tries to get the color right, she then put some bronzer on her. That was it, my friend put her own lipstick on and then she was done. She could've done a way better job herself. For someone who spent that much money they should've done more and done it better. The makeup job was way underwhelming and disappointing. The store itself is cramped and seems unorganized. Skip this store, hit up Sephora instead. read more

This review is about the MAC STORE, not the counter inside Macy's, They are great! I had a 3:00 appointment to get my halloween makeup done on the Oct 29th 2011. When I arrived They had all of their seats taken and one of the ladies smiled and aknowledged the fact that I was standing there and greeted me by my name (I am a customer of at least 10 years and I spend lot;'s of money at MAC). I stood there for like 10 mins when finally I asked if I should come back; the manager (the african american lady is always wearing the same black leather shorts) answered yes. I was ok with that because I needed to pick up a pair of nylons to finish up my costume. I returned 10 minutes later to find that all but 3 seats were empty and there were a few customers in line and browsing. There I stood another 10 mins then that same manager passed me by and said just have a seat someone will be with you soon. I sat and sat and sat until finally I asked if there was anyone who could start my make up because I had to be on a boat by 7:30 it is about 4:15 at this point. I would also have to drive home which is about 7 miles from the sun valley mall to put on my costume and leave to SF. Easy Right? Not! I sat in that chair while the lady (GINA I think that was her name) put on my make up for about 10 minutes before she had to stop and run to the register to check out all of the other customers in line, not only did she have to take care of the people checking out but she had to help the customers who were looking for certain items and the others who were only inquiring about about items, then walking off not buying anything. Another client showed up and she stopped to help them. Another lady was going on break and she had o stop and run the register until she came back. All the while she was apologetic to me but who cares about the apology when you've been sitting there so long. After all of this I was not satisfied with the way my makeup looked by any means, she rushed, didn't have the ability to do the make up as professional as one would expect from the Mac store. My kids wanted me to complain and have her redo the makeup but I had to leave. By that time it was already 5:50 and I had been there so long at this point that I needed to go. There was another lady who I talked with who was also fed up with the wait because her "Artists" seemed to just dissapear while doig her makeup too. In fact her artist sent 2 different people to start prep on her face before actually comming back to finish her makeup. That store is a joke! The whole purpouse of booking an appointment is so we won't have to wait. In the end I got home at 6:20 and rushed to put on my costume, I didn't even have time to straighten my hair, and rushed out the door because I had to be in SF before 7:30, I ran into traffic at the caldecott tunnel 15 mins then at the bridge was stck in traffic again. I missed my boat and had to roam around the city alone with no other plans until I decided to just return home To top it all off my girlfriend who drove all the way from stockton for this event ended up on the boat alone. How Embarrising!!!. I went through all of that for nothing. I will never ever return to buy any product from that store. I know there are other people who has experienced these same practices at this particular store. This was not my first bad experience with them, once before I was late for my date because of this same stop and go check on the customers way of doing things but at least then my make up was beautiful. I've got an idea. How about you have 2 ladies stationed at the register's when you know you have clients with appointments or getting their make up done, or book fewer appoitments and keep it within the 30min time frame. Geesh! I wasted so much money preparing for and makeup for both of this event and all for nothing. And yet you wanted me to pay 75.00 in products. It was so bad the artist apologized and allowed me to pay less than the required 75.00 halloween fee. Horrible service!!! You guys really need to get thing organized. read more

Six months ago it was my first time getting my makeup professionally done. I was scared to let someone put makeup on my face since I have lots of acne and acne scars. Mayra the makeup artist truly made my day. I can't thank her enough for her positivity and uplifting attitude. She made me feel like I was a goddess. I love Mac cometics cause they have a great product and they recycle their empty containers.I usually help myself in picking out colors and only need the employees help when I can't find something. Sometimes I buy the same stuff that I brought already and end up having to return, which I try not to cause I always forget to take with me when I go to the mall. Anyways, I went in to exchange a eye shadow on a pretty busy day and was very frustrated. There was about 7 people working that day and no one to help me. I was standing at the counter for about 10 mins before anyone greeted me . They all just walk pass me without saying a word. A simple " I'll be with you in a moment." would of been find. And then came my exchange it was 1 day over the 30 day the return policy and the lady was'nt gonna take it back. So I said " I should of purshase at NORDSTORM ." That worked right away and maybe next time I will shop at NORDSTORM for MAC. read more

This store f**king sucks d**k!! EVERY time I go in there it appears that each and every employee there has had a shitty ass day and is in desperate need of a good f**k session. Seriously these bitches are so rude and have absolutely no customer service what so ever!! Each employee was doing some broads make-up and didn't even so much as awknowledge the 3 other clients that walked in when I did. i don't need you to give me any special attention but f**k ask me wtf I need...im clearly not there for my health get my f**king lipstick and let me cut. So after 15 minutes of no human awknowledgement I threw the deuces to these bitches and walked into Macy's where I meerly walked over and in 5 minutes had been asked if I needed something and was served with a smile and great service. MAC must have a prequisite to hire only bitchy ass broads with tattoos because with the exception of 1 person at the 4th street location every other MAC girl has had a stick up her ass. Honey, I know make-up and i know customer service and MAC needs to teach a seminar on good customer service to their employees. You are super lucky your product is in such demand you can deal with douchey employee attitudes that your revenue won't suffer. read more

What can I say!! I love this store! Being a makeup artist myself and working in retail cosmetics I know what it take to give the best customer service and have great expertise in ur craft. This MAC store by far is the best one that I have been to. A lot of cosmetics store have the stereo type of having employees that are stuck up or non approachable, but the girls in this store are really friend and always willing to teach clients a few techniques. Innette is one of the artists that i frequently go to, I believe she is one of the leads there. She give excellent customer service, she always has great things to show me every time I go there. I never leave without spending more than $100. But I can tell she genuinely cares about her clients! She is a great asset to this location. I recommend all my clients to her when they want MAC products cause I know she will give then the best and funnest experience! Innette if you read this... you are the best! read more

There is one lady in particular who is extremely friendly and always willing to help me find what I need. I got my makeup done for my birthday party here. I hated it!! The foundation did't match my skin (too light) and my eyeliner and eyeshadow were terrible. I came in looking for a highlighter and was quickly helped. The sales lady gave me the option of a liquid or power. Once I had decided on powder I wasn't sure which color would match my complexion more. I told her I wanted something with gold tones so that it would give off a sun kissed look. She handed me a mostly white highlighter which was the opposite of what I wanted. I started to put that one on my skin and compared it to the darker one and all she could say is "it's not going to show up well because you don't have any make up on". But she didn't bother offering to put not even a bit of foundation on so that I could compare. She finally said after noticing that I wasn't going for her suggestion that I could go with the one that I felt most comfortable with. Well, I went with the one that I felt most comfortable with because she didn't bother explaining the difference or showing me the difference. Isn't that her job? Then she had to look for the product and in the middle of looking, she stopped to help someone else, clearly to get the sale, and went to find her product. I was checked out after the other customer and she was helping me first. I did not appreciate that at all. I haven't tried the product yet, so I can't comment on that but after this experience, I will be buying from the girls at the Nordstrom counter. read more

I definitely will be going to her for all my makeup inquiries. I told her i wanted a night out smokey look and she made me look so amazing!! I got so many compliments by everyone that night. Nice clean store with happy friendly staff if what you are going to get when you come to this location. I was helped by a guy (forgot his name sorry) but he was so outgoing / helpful. I went in there to buy a nude lipstick but ended up not being a fan of the nudes, so I moved on to the next thing I really needed which was finding a foundation that was my skin tone so i explained what I was looking for & he was kind in helping me with color matching me to a foundation, After color matching me I asked if they had a matte red lipstick he said yes then went & got the perfect red lipstick with a lip liner. He applied the lipstick then added the liner & I was sold! It was perfect I ended up purchasing a foundation a lipstick and the liner to go with it. Thank you to the guy who helped me you were amazing and made my first mac experience great. Definitely wanna go back and purchase more products. read more

So I LOVE MAC make up and I LOVE that this store lets you choose any 1 eye shadow (and lip gloss...lip stick etc) when you recycle 6 studi fix/bronzer containers..How sweet is that? I actually forgot mine today when I went in, but I need another studio Fix and some eye make up remover..I told Tiffany I was going out tonight and she offered to do my eye shadow being I already had my face make up on! She did SUCH A GREAT JOB! I'd love to hire her to do my eye make up EVERYDAY!! She even gave me their phone number and told me to call if I ever had any problems..She def. taught me a thing or two!! There's 2 MAC stores in SunVally Mall. The MAC store located in Macy's has great customer service, whereas the other one that has it's own space located in the mall has horrible customer service. I walked into the store knowing what I wanted, I was in there for about 20 minutes and none of the the sales associates said "hi" to me, and asked to offer any help. I know that most of them are busy, so I was patient enough to wait, but after several customers that walked in before me got helped, I decided to go to the one in Macy's instead. They treated me horrible at this MAC STORE. I have huge pores and not many foundations can hide my pores. (I use a primer that helps minimize them). I use MAC foundation, concealer, powder SO I spend a ton of money at MAC quite a bit. I was approached by a lady and she asked me what foundation I use when I was asking her about highlighters not foundations.. I told her the MAC foundation I use and she asked how I apply it... It caught me off guard as I've been in the makeup artistry business for a while. She looked away and said oh.. I asked her if she's assuming that my face is cakey and she said that it looks like I apply too much foundation all over my face. I told her I apply 1 pump for all over my face and I've used Mac foundations before.. She told me to exfoliate and I do Daily! Very rude and disrespectful read more

Was greeted vaguely, never asked if I needed help or recommendations. I came in with my sister in law to get her a bunch of stuff for her birthday. We were so excited for her to try out new products and get recommendations from an artist. We were ignored until someone noticed I was holding quite a few product testers in my hand. While the person who grabbed my products was polite, everyone else looked bored and stayed huddled together talking to each other. It was very disappointing, and I will make sure to never come back. read more
