They didn't have the shade I usually buy so I was trying on different ones to see if I could find one that fit and that was in stock. Kimberly nicely approached me and started helping me try on the available shades, the one shade that fit perfectly wasn't in stock and we couldn't get it online either, but she was extremely nice to get me sample, that'll probably last me a few months since I don't do my make up often, and she also advised me to look in other stores since it was on sale. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY SALON SERVICES. Absolutely horrible experience. I went in for a simple brow cleanup and walked out with part of my eyebrow missing. Not uneven, not over-shaped, literally missing. The worst part is they covered it up with pencil so I wouldn't notice until I got home. That is completely unacceptable. All they did was refund the service, not even the tip I gave before realizing what they had done. After multiple complaints and constant back and forth, they gave me a $50 gift card, which doesn't even come close to covering the products I now have to buy to fill it in and try to grow it back. If I could give my experience a negative star I would let's just start saying it was my birthday and I came to claim my free sample birthday award that I'm get a reminder every year. So today when I brought up my makeup that I wanted to purchase, I had told that cashier person that I was there to claim my birthday gift she proceeded to ask me if I had my email barcode. I tried to look through my emails and could not find the email, then I was asked how did I know I had a reward if I didn't have the email what was with the interrogation of a free gift then i was asked if I could step out of line while I searched for it, which I didn't mind but the demeanor was dismissed. Like sorry you don't have it NEXT, so I looked through most of my apps to see if I needed to re-sign up or see why I did that took about 10-15 minutes. It looks like she had no interest in asking me if I found it or after I told her I would just purchase my make up and forget the birthday gift She then stated well maybe I can look you up by your ID and your credit card "Wow" Right!!! by then I was frustrated after spending almost 20 minutes I stated don't really need it. As she said let me look up your account, she stated I had been opted out of getting emails so I did not have the specific barcode, but the demeanor was all over her face. It looked like it was such an inconvenience to get such a small sample by then I didn't even want it. I felt like the customer service was so in a rush and felt like such an inconvenience when she could've just looked up my card ID in the beginning and saved her and myself so much time jumping through hoops for a birthday sample gift I never felt so disregarded the day that you're supposed to be excited, even if it's just to get something small for free. She handed me some sample with disgust and a smug look on her face this is all we have for June birthdays so I said well if this is it then ok thank you . Originally had a booked appointment at the ulta in Richmond but was rescheduled at this location due to a no running hot water at first location. Was rescheduled here with Gina for kids cut and tinsel. Cut was basic nothing fancy done in about 15-20 min. Now the tinsel. First time tinsel user here so wasn't sure what to expect. Gina pulls out a white box with a mess of tinsel inside. No organization whatsoever just balls of tangled up tinsel. She did about 5-10 tinsel strands per ring/loop so they were super chunky in the end and poking out upwards. When we got to the register I asked staff if that was normal..their reactions told me no. A staff member brought us back to the salon area and we asked for the top half of tinsel to be cut off to thin out in a way. All in all not what I was expecting. Had these installed on 2/4/26 and by 2/5/26 they were slipping off. Very disappointing as it was a birthday treat for my daughter. read more

Woahhhhhh... hold up, wait a minute. This place is a SCAM. So, let me just say--every single time I've come here to buy something, it's been a total ordeal. The moment they ask, "Do you have a rewards account?" and you dare to say "No," it's like you've committed some unspeakable crime. Suddenly, the vibe shifts, and you're no longer a customer--they act like you're an inconvenience. What a fascinating business model: require a secret membership and treat customers like they're not worthy of basic human interaction. I kid (kind of), but seriously, the second you say "I don't have one," the cashiers look at you like you just admitted to kicking puppies for fun. It's weird, uncomfortable, and honestly, kind of hilarious in a sad way. Today's experience, however, was next-level bad and absolutely deserves an equally bad review. The cashier (her name started with Son, but I didn't catch the rest) was truly awful to deal with. I came in to make a return--simple enough, right? The Ulta receipt very clearly states that if you bring it in, you can make a return. I brought the receipt, returned within three days of purchase, and the product was unopened and unused. Despite all of that, she told me she couldn't process the return unless I had an account. Seriously? Since when is "having an account" a condition for honoring the return policy printed right there on your receipt? What. She repeated this to me multiple times, flat-out refusing to process the return, despite the receipt language being crystal clear. Oh, but here's the kicker--after all that back-and-forth, she did end up making the return, and guess what? I still don't have an account. Shocker! Nothing on the receipt mentions needing an account, so why was this even a conversation? It's like she was making up rules on the spot just to get me to sign up so I could get my money back. She then throws the items aside that I was buying like they were garbage. The whole experience was ridiculous and wreaks of something suspicious. So, here's MY personal take--It seems like Ulta employees are heavily incentivized to push customers into creating accounts, sometimes resorting to questionable tactics. This may include lying. This kind of behavior feels deceptive and raises concerns about whether customers are being misled or pressured unfairly. The refusal to process a return in direct contradiction to the terms provided on the receipt raises legal questions, particularly about the company's adherence to consumer protection laws. These practices warrant closer scrutiny. Do not shop here. Take your business elsewhere. read more

The morning of my appointment I called in and found out the stylist was on a medical leave of absence and the manager was supposed to call all of the appointments earlier in the month to reschedule. I'd just gotten a job and needed someone to fix my at-home-cut hair. I told Gina at the salon "I need to look like a professional!" She did an amazing job on my shoulder length layers, listening to what I said I liked and didn't like about previous haircuts and asking before trying different techniques (no on thinning shears, yes on razoring, etc.) After my hair was done, I mentioned I needed to relearn to use makeup after three years of not wearing it. She gave me an awesome makeover, and showed me how to recreate the look myself. It's been a month since my appointment and I still love everything. She did such a great job explaining what she did that I've been able to keep it up, not defaulting back to slapdash makeup and a ponytail, even on days I work from home. When we finally went up to them, one of them just pointed out the sign and told me where to find it versus walking there with us and we still couldn't find it walking on our own. I went into this store for the first time earlier in the week (I normally shop at the one in the willows), and I was not impressed at all. My daughter, sister, and I walked in to an almost completely empty store. Not a single customer, no associates walking the floor, and one person behind the counter. The lady looked in our direction and not a single smile, hello, or welcome to our store. We had to double check the time to make sure the store was actually open (it was). Anyways, my sister was an item in particular, and like previously stated, I normally shop at the one in the willows, so I wasn't exactly sure where the item was. We walked the entire store about 2-3 times looking for the item. We eventually gave up and went to my usual location. Not once did the lady at the register acknowledge us, and we never saw another associate to help us. Even as we walked out, it was an empty store and the cashier was just standing behind the counter. Huge shout out to Courtney at this Ulta. I was on my way to two events and between the hot weather and the incorrect primer -my under eye concealer started to melt off. I ran into the store in hopes to find an easy fix. Courtney stuck with me to troubleshoot. Call it girlhood and just helping a fellow girl in need, she went above and beyond and adhered to my time crunch. She helped me depuff, moisturize, conceal, and set my under eyes again. Even though the concealer she helped me with was out of stock she made me a sample and gave me extra applicators and mini sponges to take with me. This particular Ulta is horrible and the employees are rude as well it's like they picked extra rude people to work for this store in particular. I got some make up for Christmas from my aunt (she didn't give me the receipt since it was a gift) and wanted to exchange them since the color was off for the foundation and powder and I wasn't fond of the lip color. Do I went in and up to the cashier and said I got the items for Xmas and wanted to exchange them I figured I would be able to exchange them at least I can understand not returning without the receipt but exchanging should be ok but nope they wouldn't exchange them unless I had a phone well I don't know my aunts phone number plus I highly doubt she even has an account with them so needless to say they rudely wouldn't let me exchange them and then even followed me out the door as if I did something wrong and watched me get into my boyfriends car and drive away which gave me a really uneasy awkwardly uncomfortable feeling. Now I'm stuck with all these items I can't even use because since November you can't exchange anything without a phone number to the account of the person who purchased the items. Recently went in there for some last-minute items and felt that the cashier was a bit irritated as soon as we stepped up to pay. After asking if we could exchange something, we were told no that it had to be done as a return, rather than walking out, we agreed to do a return in the moment we said so the cashier did a very loud side and was very rude. I just had the most lovely experience getting a signature haircut with Porsche C. today! I've had many terrible experiences with haircuts and most recently had an uneven haircut over 8 months ago. I've been dreading going somewhere to get it fixed with the fear of it getting worse, but I decided to go through with a haircut today and I'm so glad I did. Porsche did an amazing job at doing a consult to see what I wanted, examined my hair and went through the process of what the haircut would be like. I enjoyed my conversation with her, she was super kind, offered very great products to use with no pressure whatsoever to purchase and of course did an amazing job with my haircut. I'm coming back in December for another haircut and will continue going with her. She clearly cares for her clients and does a phenomenal job at cutting hair! read more

Ulta has always had the greatest selection of products (rivals Sephora), but MAN are they lacking in the greatest selection of employees. I saw another review calling this out, but the whole "you don't have a rewards account? get out" vibe is incredibly accurate. Each time I come in and choose to not set up a rewards account, which by the way, shouldn't be the requirement to shop at a store (?), instead of getting a response of no one caring, each time I said I didn't have an account, the employees would stop talking to me! They'd toss my products around, stuff them in the bags, be rude in telling me what I had to do etc. Don't really understand why by not signing up for a rewards account, the company's/employees tactics is to be rude to the customer? Im now going to give you my personal information out of a desire to avoid being mistreated at a store? Why does this give HIPPA violation vibes? This Ulta is absolutely beautiful! Spacious store with welcoming employees. It's located next to Ross and the soon to be defunct OSH. I was immediately given a 20% off coupon when I entered which was a nice touch. They have Lancôme, Benefit, Nars, MAC, hair styling services, fragrance, etc and a wide range of brands to choose from. I picked up a Real Techniques foundation brush and L'Oréal mascara. It was hard not to pick up another Shape Tape, but I'll wait. This is the best addition to the Crescent Plaza shopping center! I asked and they are also keeping the existing Ulta in the Willows. So happy to have you in Pleasant Hill, Ulta! We don't have to trek to Sephora or order online anymore. read more
