Arrived at 10am for a 10am appointment. The lady said she would be doing my make-up momentarily. They proceeded to help multiple customers instead of starting my make-up. There were four employees at the time. The girl started my makeup but had to keep stepping away to help customers. If you make an appointment they should be focused on completing your makeup and have enough staff to help customers. Won't be going back. read more

Horrible workers, who can't even match you to concealer or foundation! I walked in and asked for a concealer lighter thank my skin color because i want it to brighten up my under eyes.. I usually bounce between Sephora and Mac when looking for makeup depending on the product. However, the past few visits to Sephora in Roosevelt field have been terrible. The staff is unfriendly, unhelpful, and would rather stand on the floor then actually assist a customer. I asked three different employees for help and advice on a waterproof eyeliner and they brushed me away barely pointing in the direction where I should look. Annoyed, I walked out and into Mac. I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed any help. I was helped by a woman named Sarah who was more than helpful! She immediately suggested an eyeliner, which I've tried and now love! Surprised about how easy and fast it was to find what I was looking for, Sarah also helped me find a perfect shade in face powder which I am also happy with! Overall, I find Mac's makeup to be great quality to begin with. However, I do believe that customer service is also a key part in having a successful shopping experience. The staff that I encountered in my visits to Mac in Roosevelt field have always been nothing but friendly, approachable, and helpful. I will only be going to Mac for my makeup purchases from now on. read more

I don't know what others may say but i love love love the mac girls at Roosevelt field. They know what they are talking about and do awesome makeup! Yea they are always crowded but then don't go on a weekend to pick up your eyeliner or mascara! It's a mall! Of course it is going to get busy. When I went in I was greeted more than once with friendly staff willing to help me! Some people just maybe give off the wrong vibe and need to be bitter through a computer. I on the other hand want to embrace them. Its still retail for them and I guarantee they do not want to cater to the customers every need when I'm sure they walked in so pleasant themselves. I bought so much stuff and walked out happy with new exciting tricks and tips. I love makeup and only trust the MAC girls b/c lets face it they look good! I had such a good time i went back the following week and brought my friend and we got our makeup done. I just feel people need to be a little less harsh and get over the fact that your product will be discontinued-GET OVER IT- the company seems to do that all the time! It's not the staffs fault! I WILL NEVER GO THERE!!! is not the first time that I don't get out of mac ( the one on the 2nd floor) without getting upset. but last time i almost cry. i made an appointment with them 34 days before my birthday. The day of my birthday I got there 20 minutes early because I know how slow they are. I got there at 12:10pm. When I go to the desk I tell them that I have an appointment, I give my name, they tell me to have a seat in the room & that someone we'll be right with me. It was 12:35pm and still waiting.. I tell one of the people that works there that i was still waiting, he tells me to give him a minute. 1:22pm & still waiting!!!!! That's Crazy!! The funny thing is that they weren't busy at all. I try calling sephora to see if I can get my make-up done, but of course there was nothing available. I went to mac in macy's, I told them my situation and they put me in the book with no problem. 45minutes later i got my make up done. But thanks to those rudes & horrible workers in mac on the 2nd floor I got late to my birthday lunch. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!! Last year for my birthday I had an appointment with the MAC counter down stairs in Nordstrom . They called me the same day and explained that one of their artist had to go home last minute due to an emergency and they wouldn't be able to do my makeup. They did however suggest I go to MAC Manhasset at Macy's as they had a 7pm appointment. I had no issue with this and went to the MAC in Manhasset. I had my makeup done by a girl named Carmella who did an absolutely wonderful job. I am very picky and she did the best job that I had ever had done. This year for my birthday I decided to make an appointment for 7pm Saturday November 4th at the MAC in Mainsheet. I called and asked if I could request Carmella. The woman on the other line told me I wasn't able to request anyone so I told her I'd call back. Two days later I called back and told the girl on the line I understood I couldn't request a specific person but was I able to make a note of it ? She told me I could of course request someone specific and Carmella would be working. I even decided to call the day before Friday November 3rd just to confirm. When I called I explained I had an appointment with Carmella the following day at 7pm and the woman on the other side confirmed my name and said great we will see you tomorrow ! Saturday when I arrived I noticed I didn't see Carmella. When I approached the counter the women ( who was only wearing mascara , pretty sure thats against MAC policy ) said " hi Bridget ?" I said " hi yes I have a 7pm with Carmella." She told me Carmella isn't here and just smiled. I told her I was confused and explained my dilemma, her response was well you can't request anyone specific so your appointment was never really with her. I then started to get mad because clearly I was being given the run around. She then told me she could try and help me but that she didn't quite do makeup like Carmella, I asked her what the point of having a makeup artist was on a Saturday night that doesn't know how to do a dramatic smokey eye ? She told me every artist does their own thing. I left extremely upset and disappointed. I decided I'd call Roosevelt field MAC and beg them to squeeze me in. When I called Erik , the manager , picked up and immediately he apologized and took some info and assured me that they would fit me in. He was more than accommodating and apologized and assured me that it wouldn't happen again. Christina did my makeup and she did a phenomenal job. She listened to all my request and gave me advice. She was extremely sweet and very talented. Erik and Christina really turned my birthday night around and I am so grateful that they were both so professional and really made my MAC experience great. I refuse to give this MAC location any stars.... I went there today to return a purchase with receipt.... The manager Stanley (and his girly ass) had a problem... He looked at me a me and asked if I wanted to go an exchange, I replied No, just my refund. He then gave me a dirty look and then scanned all of the products I was returning, extra examining them. Keep in mind I just brought them 1 day ago! He then took the next customer's exchange and went in the back with my receipt explaining he needed to further examine my receipt/transaction. After 10 mins he came back with an nonchalant attitude, asked for my ID and did the return. This was the nastiest experience ever at this location, but there have been other distasteful experiences here. Like on a regular basis a non crowded store and all ASSociates ignoring customers until they ask for help. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS STORE! MAC/Estee Launder needs to monitor and train there staff. And I will be calling corporate to make a formal complaint and sending an email through there website!!!! Ok, so there is always the unity foolishness of the makeup world and I get that. But I am so over coming in this store! Every time I come into this location there is an issue. This time, the store was not busy and I could not even get a standard greeting! I had a sheer bag full of empty "Back to MAC" containers in my hand and I played in makeup, swatched lipstick for at least 10-15th minutes and was still unacknowledged. I went and stood at the cash register and finally someone asked had I been helped. I let Employee# 454479 know that I was really here for a quick pick up and to render some back to MAC containers. She advised me that she had other customers waiting. I let her know that If been here for at least 10-15 minutes and hadn't even received a greeting. And I was there before the other customers even came in. She apologized and came back quickly. I'm not going to get all crazy in this review but seriously, the lack of customer service is ridiculous! I've been a Mac customer since 2004. As opposed to shopping online I decided to stop by just for one item and I was so grateful to Eric and Shirley for helping me to update my look. They answered all of my questions about brush types, my contouring needs, how to apply the glosses from the newest collection and foundation shades. I left with all of my beauty needs filled and lots of samples to try out from the (24 hour/waterproof) new concealer and foundation collection. I am dark/deep skin so I am overjoyed that Eric showed me the color variations in the concealer shades, the different makeup textures with brushes and how they work with powders/creams. Shirley is so informative and helpful and ensured that she shows me techniques on contouring that I ambivalent about trying. With her guidance and explanation I feel more confident about attempting nose contouring. I am so appreciative Shirley!!!! Eric, so knowledge, gave me samples of foundation since I switched over to other brands in the past few years. I am thrilled that MAC offers colors for my skin shade and tone. MAC cosmetics is one of the best places. The staff here is wonderful, always helpful, and kind to their customers. I have been in the Macy's store and the 3rd floor store as well multiple times. both stores are very helpful and knowledgeable about their products, as they should be. I go in to buy products and get help with makeup tips and how to's( you can never be to perfect). This time in particular I went in with my 2 yr old rambunctious son. I want to commend Elyssha ( I think that's how to spell her name/ I don't have the card with me) but as a mother in a mall around the holidays you understand how hard it is to shop with a toddler, she made it so easy for me to navigate through the crowed store, engaging him and just being patient with me. This review is for 12-15-12. Came to MAC to get my makeup done for my wedding day. I had booked my appointment 1 month in advance. Showing up half an hour before my scheduled time; I checked in. And waited for the make up artists to start on me. I had to wait standing 1 HOUR before one of the male artists took pity on me(I requested only female artist) and started doing makeup on me in the middle of the store. Not near a mirror and not near a seat! I was unhappy with the store service-- maybe they were discriminating against me. All other customers just trying products got the mirror seated chair. :( Anyways I loved my makeup eventually. It was too strong but I was okay with it I guess. I had no choice bec as soon as I left the store I had just half hr to get to my ceremony! Thanks to this inefficient store and it's timing. I am a person who stays away from the mall or crowded places. Once in a few months I have to go to MAC for BACK to MAC. This year I was in Roosevelt mall and decided to take my products for BACK to MAC to the mac store. As I entered the store I was greeted by a very pleasant person and was amazed how she helped me. Even though it was BACK to MAC and she was not able to get any sales out of it, she was very patient with me. I had 18 products to return and needed to get 3 lipsticks. I was unsure of what I wanted. She took the time to listen to me and introduced me to new colors. I ended up getting 3 lipsticks that I would never have got on my own. I got FAUX, Finally free and strength lipsticks . I get so many compliments when I wear these lipsticks and all because a caring and patient MAC artist took her time. Her name was Nikita and I promised to go back to get a makeup trial for my upcoming engagement party. One of the best experiences I have had . Thank You Nikita! read more
