I went into the retail store inside the Galleria to purchase foundation etc. It was not very busy when I walked in. . No one greeted me or offered to help when I came in, or when I was looking through their case of products. As I stood waiting for help, four people came after me and were all greeted and helped right away. They were all young ladies in their teens and young twenties (unlike me). I stood a bit longer to see if anyone would notice that I was there. No such luck. I went up to the greeter and told her what happened - she just shrugged her shoulders and said "oh". I wrote to the company and received a canned response - that I would hear from someone within a few days. That was almost two weeks ago! I come into MAC to get my makeup done at least once a month, and I and my designers walk away impressed each time. My makeup artist, Vanessa, is always very knowledgeable and knows exactly what I'm looking for. She knows what look I'm going for, what consistency is best, and what looks good on camera. I would highly recommend that a person use her for makeup for any occasion. And everyone in the store is always very kind and helpful. MAC is really the best place to buy makeup or get your makeup done. read more

My goodness, this store needs more employees especially on the weekends when people come in to get their makeup done. I came in knowing what I needed but no joke I stood at the counter for 30 MINUTES!!! Out of the 4 employees, 3 of them were busy working on someone's makeup, the 4th was floating around helping customers but didn't acknowledge me... she was actually helping everyone else coming in after me. Finally an employee who was working on someone's makeup noticed me and said she would be with me in a couple minutes. A couple minutes later, an employee came out of the back and helped me. I didn't get her name but she was super friendly and got me what I needed. The 2 employees I dealt with during this visit were friendly but seemed overwhelmed. I understand people come in to get their makeup done on weekends, in that case they should have more employees available to help those who just want to make a purchase. I came in pretty early too knowing how crazy it gets and still had a long wait. If coming here on the weekend, just bring your patience. read more

Had the best experience with Karissa Cosentino at MAC. My friend and I along with my daughter went in this past Saturday and had makeovers. Karissa was awesome as she talked through our "look" that we wanted and showed us how to use the different makeup so we can create the same look. So I'm young 14 years old and I walked in there to pick up some paint pots and brushes. The lady offered to help but I was still deciding on what i was actually getting so I said no thanks and then the whole time the lady just kept staring at me and I had to get her help to get some Paint pots out of the cupboard but she was just kind of rude to me the whole time. And I ended up buying 2 brushes and 2 paint pots and even then she was still rude to me at the register. I don't know if it was because maybe she just thought i was in there to fool around like other teenagers. I was so disappointed with the service I received at the MAC store. I was in with a my little sister trying to get her matched for her makeup artist to purchase the foundation she needed for her prom. Now before I begin let me say I personally work in a high volume, appointment based retail setting. So I completely understand being busy and appointments being the priority, and was patient even though 3 associates approached us and asked us if we had been helped, and upon hearing that we hadn't, walked away without another word of when we would be getting helped. No big deal, you're busy, we're not in a rush. However, when we finally did get helped, I was sure to tell our artist that we were just getting a color to give to the makeup artist so she could purchase the foundation. While I understand that that isn't the thing you want to hear, it's a business and you need to make money. But coming from the professional background i come from, I also know that if you treat every customer with the same level of respect regardless of how much they're willing to spend that day,9 times out of 10 your customer service will compel them to purchase that day, with add ons. With that being said, the store manager butted in, and said "oh she's a perfect nw20" implying that we were just supposed to trust her without seeing the actual makeup on her skin. Both the associate and manager abandoned us, and I decided to find the foundation she suggested to see if it really matched. My sister is a pale ivory color, and this foundation was pepto bismol pink. Needless to say we ended up BOTH purchasing foundation at the Estée Lauder counter in Macy's. Go there instead. We won't be back to MAC cosmetics. read more

My daughter and i went to the Galleria mall with all intentions to buy new makeup at Sephora. We almost got to the store and i noticed the MAC store, we went inside and a woman greeted us (her name was Andrea). She asked if we needed anything and we told her we were looking for eyeliner and mascara. She helped us immediately. She was friendly and did not pressure us. My daughter bought 3 products from her and i purchased 4 items. This employee did everything she should have, not because she was forced to but because she made her customers a priority. She stole a competitors sales by being kind, friendly, respectful and understanding that the consumers make the choice where they want to spend their hard earned money. This day we chose to spend it at MAC Cosmetics. Thank you Andrea for acknowledging us in a very busy atmosphere. Thank you for treating us like we mattered to you. So disappointed with the galleria Mac store, specifically one of the managers named Vanessa, she is not friendly at all! She has a horrible snobby attitude, & it really rubbed me the wrong way! She seems to only be respectful to people who are making big purchases, me I had a small purchase & I asked her a couple questions & she seemed to be annoyed! I have nothing but GREAT things to say about this store. I have known one of the makeup artists who works at this store for just about 2 years and she is the most genuine, sweet, and knowledgeable artist there is. Marissa's work is phenomenal and her wonderful personality has kept me a loyal customer for years. I have been getting my makeup done by MAC for events for about 10 years and Mar is most definitely one of my all time favorite artists! No matter if I call the store or go in person to ask a question or to purchase, I am always helped in the most efficient way. They even suggest better products if I am confused about something. I had a really bad experience once in this store, when the sales associate was busy chit chatting and would give me occasional looks to say she did not know what products I meant (they were all pretty common ones :/), but I am so glad to see she is no longer around, and the ones who work there now are totally awesome and pretty down to Earth. I went into the stand alone store at the Galleria this morning. The store was pretty much empty except for 3 sales girls standing behind the counter. I went in to purchase some eye-shadow but wanted to try some on first because I was wanting a whole new look for the fall/winter. Mistake! I couldn't get any of them to help me and when I finally did the girl put the make-up on me like a child would. First I was in the chair and she said I will be right back. She was gone forever, I have no idea were she went! Anyway when I left I looked like a clown from the 80's! What really pissed her off is that I only bought one thing and that was eye shawdow base. I then went over to Nordstrom and got way better friendly customer service and they fixed my make-up. They actually couldn't believe someone in the Mac Store did my make-up. I don't get it why are they so rude and snobby in that store? You know they are only making minimum wage so its all a big show! Not impressed little girls and boys!! read more

I don't usually write reviews but I had to share my wonderful experiences I've had there with the lovely lady VIKTORIA! My first time coming there she was so helpful and sweet! She greeted my sister in law and I with a beautiful smile and attended to our needs and questions about shades and color matching. We didn't have a face full of caked on makeup nor dressed like we walked out of a magazine and she showed no judgement what so ever. She spoke sweetly to us, complimented us, showed us the highly popular makeup products and waited patiently for us to decide what we wanted. She didn't make us feel rushed even though the store was so crowded on a Saturday afternoon. We left feeling so satisfied and happy! Today I went back and I was greeted by a nice girl at the door but it was Viktoria who made her way to me to ask if I needed assistant on anything and she had the most genuine smile on her face! I haven't been there since before Christmas so I'm sure she doesn't remember who I am with all the people she helps on the daily. I worked a 8 hr shift and drove almost two hours to the Roseville Mac store for a couple lipsticks and I could not have been more happy to be helped by viktoria, she is honestly the reason why I wouldn't go to any other MAC store and that almost two hour drive is worth it!! I have never been one to Yelp, in fact, this is my first Yelp review ever so that must say something in itself! On June 15, 2017 i had a friends wedding that i was attending and I scheduled an appointment with Mac at 12:00pm and as always i was running late. I called the store and they were so flexible with me which was amazing because it was a typical busy day at the Galleria. Once i arrived i was greeted with beautiful smiles and many "Hello's" or " How may i help you." I was fortunate enough to be placed in Vanessa's chair and i could not have been luckier. She stared off by asking what color dress i was wearing and i told her and she literally read my mind of what color eye shadow i thought would compliment my dress as well as my completion. Vanessa is extremely talented and you could tell this was her passion and that she wholeheartedly wanted to make me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world. Vanessa was so friendly, always smiling and very polite and helpful to her coworkers. I have been getting my makeup done for special events for going on 15 years now and one of the major things that stood out to me, aside from just her pure talent, was the fact that she kept asking me questions and making sure i liked what she was doing which i have not always experienced.I would hands down say Vanessa is the most talented artist i have ever had. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. As stated before, i have been getting my makeup done for 15 years and each artist has done a great job but i have never felt the need to have to go back to that specific artist until Vanessa. I was just here today, and it was my first time being in a MAC store/purchasing their products. Right when I walked in I was immediately welcomed and assisted. The girl who was helping me was so excited to show me all the amazing products when I told her I have never been in MAC or tried any of their makeup. I knew I wanted the pro longwear foundation and concealer, so she color matched me quickly and also showed me other products without being pushy. I ended up buying the foundation and concealer, as well as the fix+ setting spray, the skin base, and a bronzer which is actually blush. The girls were so helpful with helping me pick out a bronzer. I have a fair complexion so I feel like all bronzers I have tried always pull orange on me- which is why they directed me toward a color that is actually a blush but it's a beautiful cool toned darker color that's a perfect contour shade for my skin. I think I'm officially addicted to MAC- thank you so much! Once you go MAC you never go back! read more

I went in to MAC on Sunday to get a new foundation because a MUA had used one on me during a photoshoot and I absolutely loved it. I got an early start because I know how crazy the mall gets during the holidays and I knew I needed some help with finding my perfect color. The girls who were working that day (Marissa Euan and I'm sorry I didn't get the other girls name!) were so incredibly helpful and friendly that I left the store absolutely glowing! Literally and figuratively. Marissa really took the time to listen and try on a couple of different foundations for me even though as early as it was they were still fairly busy. I was sincerely impressed with both of the ladies customer service skills as well as Marissa's makeup application skills as I left the store feeling more beautiful than I have in a very long time. I went in there to ask questions about the products I wanted to purchase. Ashley Anderson did a whole face make up on me. Even with being busy she managed to help me and others walking in. She walked me through step by step of how to apply each product and stop several times to make sure I didn't have any question and if I understood everything she was explaining. At the end she also asked me what is my biggest problem doing my own make up and went into detail about how to fix it. She offered me more intensive one on one make up services if I still needed help. When it came to buying product she was very nice and did not push me to buy anything and help me decide what was essential to start out with. Make up intimidates me and I feel so dumb being a girl and having no clue how to apply certain products but she did not make me feel like she was better than me, which is nice to feel comfortable asking her questions. Her make up was AMAZING on herself and did such a great job on mine. You can tell she likes what she does. I would recommend requesting her if you need make up for an event or even just have questions, she is so knowledgable about all the products and their application. She did a great job showing me different uses for one brush so I didn't feel like I had to have the whole set like they wear. She told me her preferences with brushes and also told me how other people use them so I knew several different ways to use each one.
