This particular MAC store can use a tad bit better customer service. I've realized some artists dont particulary help out a customer that already looks like they know how to apply make-up. Other than that, this location has very well trained make-up artists. By far, the best trained make-up artists. I prefer Shelly, she is so calm and sweet. Her make-up on herself is always beautiful and not (as MAC make-up haters would call) "cakey." She always informs me about the latest new MAC products and as well as her suggestions. Anthony is another make-up artist I favor, since he always matches thee perfect foundation shade for me (as I always forget) he is also quite attractive, though I know this really shouldnt matter in a review :) In conclusion the MAC artists here apply make-up wonderfully without that "harsh too much applied make-up look" Even so they can even helpy you build up any dramatic look you wish for. It's very unsanitary for this MAC store to not break of the ends of the Lipglass samples to discourage people from putting the product on their lips directly. Too many diseases can be spread from person to person and the container becomes a pretty Petri dish...I always test on my hand. But I promise you, a woman was putting it on her lips like it was hers. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I bought my stuff and got out of there but seriously, people do all kinds of stuff and you don't know where there mouth has been. That is too nasty. I usually shop at Sephora now but I stopped into MAC for a couple lipsticks I use regularly and ended up buying much more thanks to Rocky! He did my whole face in a few minutes and made me feel VIP while also helping other customers at the same time. It's so refreshing to get good customer service! I went to Macy's counter Mac store, on a walk in but after the wait they were SO accommodating and Danika was so entertaining and interactive with me making it a very pleasurable experience. Summer did my makeup and compared to the hundreds of dollars I've spent elsewhere, she did the most fantastic job out of anywhere I've ever been. The following review is based solely on my customer service experience today, or lack thereof. I visited both M.A.C. locations in Del Amo mall; the counter inside Macy's and also the stand-alone store located adjacent to Jo-Ann's. My first stop was the counter inside Macy's. I was standing a few feet away from the counter where you pay, for about 5 minutes, while attempting eye-contact with the M.A.C. employees, but no one acknowledged my presence. Then, I walked up to the counter and stood there for about 5 minutes, all the while the girls walked past me several times and said nothing. I understand they were very busy, and I had no issue with that. However, even if they are all super-busy, they would impress patrons like myself, just by displaying some basic customer service; acknowledge the customer. Anyhow, I left the store without using any of the gift card that my husband had purchased for me for mother's day. Next, in hopes of having a better experience, I made the trek to the M.A.C. standalone location through the thick mother's day crowd. Same sh**, different store. I stood patiently waiting for a few minutes, because I noticed the employees were applying makeup on other customers. Some time had passed while I stood for a while, hoping to make eye-contact. Then, a young woman walked up to the counter and I practically had to stare in her direction. She finally looked up and asked if I needed anything. The question was odd; what other reason would I be in a M.A.C. store, but to purchase makeup and speak with someone about what I need? Doesn't seem too difficult to decipher. Anyhow, I said I needed a new foundation and that I would need help choosing a different color, this time. Her tone was a little off when she said, "that's it?" I said that I needed one more thing. She explained there was one person already ahead of me and I had no problem w/that. However, she did not say when or approximately when she *would* be able to help or, or if anyone else would/could, after they got done applying makeup on other patrons. Anyhow, I left that store sans new makeup, as well. I just came home and ordered online. People need to realize that even basic customer service is truly appreciated. read more

I JUST WANT TO THANK THE MOST AMAZING STAFF AT MAC DEL AMO FOR HAVING THE KINDEST HEARTS AND SHARING THEIR TALENT AND JOY WITH US! Back in September I called the store on a whim to get more information on one-on-one full make-overs. I spoke with the manager Roxee (love you!) and told her my story. We were hosting a Ugandan Kids Choir called Imani Milele who range from ages 7-15 and come from orphanages in Kampala. They travel for 7 months around the U.S. singing for free to raise awareness about their situation back home. I told Roxee that I really wanted to surprise two of the chaperones with a make-over because they never get a break and work so hard. After hearing about my financial situation she told me to bring them regardless and spent time out of her day to bring this dream to a reality and comped the make-overs. Her staff at the time (RONALD AND DANIELLE) were so awesome, beautiful, hilarious and incredible. They also worked on the chaperones and gave the two young girls from the choir with us the best day of their lives (their words). We had a blast hanging out at MAC Del Amo. I went in on a very busy weekend (Halloween) and was not looking forward to waiting in line to get eyelashes put on. I did have to wait a bit, but not more than 5-10 min which was no big deal. Wendy helped me out and was extremely helpful and I did not feel rushed at all, even though it was very busy. She graciously asked if I wanted her to put on eyeshadow to complete my look since I was getting eyelashes...I was so excited because i do not know how to put makeup on! But best of all, she did my eyes amazing!! She is also easy to talk to and very sweet! I will definately ask her to do my makeup again! read more

I've been using M.A.C. products since high school with no logical explanation except that I've been bamboozled into doing what everyone else is doing. I've gone as far as to have a personal chat with the rep many times on the M.A.C. website for suggestions that were very helpful but hit me deep in the pockets. Buying M.A.C. can be like eating Lays Potato Chips... one is never enough. So I guess I'm hand in hand with a fat chick who just can't put it down. I never want to be that chick that needs makeup or on the days I decide to skip I'll look like I had a rough night or I've decided to hit the pipe. So far so good! These days I'm less likely to do the foundation & concealer because it looks nice but I hate to feel like something is layered on my face. I'm more likely to opt for something to control the oil instead and focus on my lips, eyes and lashes. So I have a matte gel, tons of shadows, paints, glosses and lacquer for those days when I want to glam it up. I've never had any complaints other than the colors often appear differently in the store mirror than at home but they're willing to offer an exchange or refund with your reciept and original packaging whenever you're dissatisfied. They are even willing to assist you in product application for a minimum $35 purchase. read more

I've never reviewed anything on yelp, but after seeing some negative comments about the Del Amo MAC store, I decided it was only fair to sum up a little bit of my great experience. Everyone is veryi friendly and attentive at this MAC store, especially Joshua, who I really recommend. He is so nice, charismatic, and funny, and he is willing to help anyone. He did my makeup for a wedding I was attending Labor Day weekend, and it was extreme beautiful, clean, and natural. Joshua loves what he does, and his 10+ years of experience make him a wonderful MUA. So recommend him! read more

Rina at the Del Amo Mac is amazing! I had a party to go to and was going to dress up as Victoria Beckham and needed some help with my makeup. She did an outstanding job! I got home and my husbands jaw dropped to the floor. I was so upset when I had to wash it all off the next day. I will absolutely be going back to her for any other special occasions I have to get my makeup done. She was friendly and I felt very comfortable with her. This is the last time I will come into MAC. When I go inside a store I make sure I know what I already am interested in and go to test it to see if it matches my skin tone. So I walked over to the lipsticks to see the one I was looking for, if only I could've gotten to them! There was one employee helping out two women standing right in front of the lipsticks. I couldn't see anything. So I walked around a bit to wait for them to move since there were other places they could have stand and chatted. But nope! They continued to stand there, chat and block the way. (This is the not the first time something like this has happened also.) So after 5 minutes or so I go to ask the lady to politely move so I can see the lipsticks. All I could get out was "Excuse me-" before she interrupted me and said "Sorry I'm with another customer at the moment." With an attitude!! Mac employees are the rudest snobs around! But I'm glad this situation happened, I just found out they test their products on animals. Next time I'll just go to Sephora and find a cruelty free brand. read more

This is your standard MAC store(crowded, understaffed, and expensive) so I give it 3 stars for being average. I would give it 5 stars if it were all based on the girl who helped me (I believe her name is Faye). Despite 20 other women asking her for help and 100 different questions at the same time, she kept cool under pressure and was very good at prioritizing tasks. She sat me down for a consultation, but had to keep leaving to check out people at the cashier (no idea where the other employees were). Even though I was waiting for a good 10min, she apologized and acknowledged my inconvenience. I could see that it was hectic in the store and she was holding down the fort so I didn't mind. When things calmed down, I had her undivided attention.She gave a very detailed and educational consultation on contouring and helped me pick out the colors and items that were right for me. She also didn't try to put the hard sale on me and pressure me into buying unnecessary items. Long story short, Faye deserves a gold star for customer service and keeping cool under pressure. MAC should be proud to have employees like her representing them. read more

One of my friends mention that this store was fairly new and wasn't that busy as other Mac stores in this mall. I went to buy a refill for my powder/foundation and a mascara on Wednesday during my late lunch hour. I walk in 2 out of 3 staff members greeted me the a very slim young female didn't even look up. I'm happy to have been attendant by a friendly and attentive girl that made great suggestions for a better use of the make up. The store was stock and clean with lots of advertisement. UPDATED OCT. 2nd(bottom part) The workers were not asking if i need help, just keep their eyes on me, I politely ask him "would you please help me finding right foundation for me?" (MAC was really empty at that time, there were 3-4 workers) and he was rolloing his eyes with comtempted face and telling me to just get one right front of me, so i asked him to colormatch(because as I am also cosmetic retailer and a makeup artist, it is much polite to ask for help) and he finally came up to me and pointing foundation with his chin, then he asked other guy to help me then he left without telling me anything. then the other guy did came with contempted face also then without telling me, just removed half of my foundation. he DID NOT cleanse the brush before he put foundation on me (my friend told me after) and also he was rubbing brish really hard on me, he supposed to blend with sponge but he rub it really hard like he going to rip off my skin. he told me to look at mirror, it was NOT blended and also i can see all the brush marks and my skin get irritated. I was really polite, and im not picky too.. i felt they were being RACIST because they were nice to white costumers.(i'm asian btw) I purchased products because i need them, but treat like this, I am so dissapointed and dont want to purchase from here anymore. I can't remember one guys name but he was wuiet skinny and has short hair and others name was Anthony C. +UPDATE OCT. 2nd so I went back to store today to return the products. The lady recognised, call the manager and they apologized to me. even it was not their fault, they were being very polite, try to fix the problems. I absolutely feel appreciated. I've been a loyal MAC user for 10 years and for the past 3-4 have looked past the decrease in customer service. I used to frequent the one downstairs in Macys before there was an actual MAC store with no problems. I was so excited when they built the store but always disappointed with the service. I come in knowing what i want and eager to spend my money just to be ignored and looked past. I understand things get busy but some acknowledgment goes a long way. I ended up walking out and going to Sephora where i had no issues getting help. The store had moved around during construction of the new mall and when i went to check out the new location across from Lush i was disappointed yet again. I was saddened to hear about MAC testing on animals now and have transitioned my makeup to cruelty free brands. With so much more competition nearby with better service, prices, and selection, you'd thing they'd step up their game. I walked out, went to sephora, instead of Studio Fix i now use Becca face products, kat von d lipstick, and NYX lip products. First and foremost, this place shouldn't even get ONE star! I just stopped in this afternoon to look at their brushes. The place wasn't too crowded and all of the sales associates were huddled at the counter talking. No one greeted me or asked if I needed help. As I went to the section that had the brushes in the glass jars to look as them. I reach to get a closer look at one, one of the sales ladies YELLS across to me: "MA'AM THOSE AREN'T FOR TESTING! The brushes are over here!" Well after that, I immediately left the store. I will never be visiting the Del Amo location again. Thanks to my sister in law she introduced me to a GREAT girl there, (her name is Shely), She is the most kindest, friendliest person there. I love some Mac cosmetics, they're great. BUT, and it's big, I agree with so many comments here about the wretched customer service, the attitude, and the clown look of the employees. And it is hit or miss as to service. Yesterday I went to the Mac store in Scottsdale and I it was busy, but whole energy of the place was distasteful -- I wanted to run from the scary clown girls in ridiculous make up. WORST though -- the just about elderly, overtanned, pruned up counter lady -- looked to be a woman in 50s that aged badly -- too much sun so she was a prune, yet she was dressed up like a goth Madonna from an 80s MTV video -- belly baring black costume and cleavage spillage and all. The make-up and the skin -- just grossed me out. Midriff baring teeny tiny black top and cheerleader skirt, are you kidding me? Every time she moved we were treated to a full view of her wrinkled abdomen! Gross! Does she have a mirror? I think she was the manager for the shift too. The young girls just look like they painted pink on their cheeks and forgot to blend it, looking totally like killer clowns -- and the eye make up was frightening. Is this supposed to draw customers and sell make up? I would think it would do the opposite, and send people running away from Mac stores. I just can't get over the old, wrinkled too-tanned lady in a costume from an 80s video set displaying her wrinkled tummy to the world. There ought to be a fashion law . . . I may just buy the 2 or 3 things I like from Mac online from now on to avoid the disgusting store experience. read more

Went into this store today and was in there a good 30-45 minutes. I went in knowing what I wanted to get and patiently waited to get helped as I browsed through eye shadows and lipgloss. About after 10-15 minutes, a girl finally walked over to me and said someone would be there to help me "in just a minute." I wasn't in a rush, so I continued to browse. I eventually observed that they took customers that came after me. I don't know if it was because I came in with workout clothes and no makeup and a non expensive bag, but I felt like I was being ignored like Julia Roberts in pretty woman! After reading the reviews for this location I guess I'm not the only one that thinks this place has poor customer service. They should really get their act together. read more

I am a longtime MAC supporter, since the 90s. The treatment I received here this past weekend was the WORST I have ever received at a MAC store. EVER. And it wasn't mean, it was just a kind of snottiness and superiority that I have never experienced at a MAC shop. I walk in with my daughter, and I'm clearly holding used containers in a baggie...I was there to return them, and get an eyeshadow tin. I stood at the cash register for 10 minutes while two associates help the only one customer in the store, and completely ignore me. I finally walk up to one of them, and ask, do you guys still accept the used containers? The girl says, yes, and just looks at me. I then ask, I can redeem these for an eyeshadow, right? She says, or a lipstick. I said, should I go pick it out, then give these to you? [I was like, give me something to work with here...I've clearly spent money here...no sales pitch, no pleasantness, nothing]. So I pick out the eyeshadow, and a eyeliner, and go up to the front. I have to wait again while they continue to both help the one customer and ignore me. Then the same girl comes to ring up my eyeliner, and says, I don't think your eyeshadow pan is redeemable [wtf...it'd better be], but I'll check. She comes immediately back, and says that it is, but has to go back to ask the manager to do the redemption. When the manager comes out, I realize THAT is why the associates act how they do. She does not greet me at all, does not acknowledge me, and just keys in the redemption, and flees back into the back. If she does not bother with any customer service, why should her staff??? So MAC, you need to understand...I will never visit any of your stores again. I will purchase all products online. And if I do not receive ABSOLUTE impeccable service that way, I am done. I refuse to spent a crapload of money with a company who could care less. read more

Before I explain why I won't be shopping at this MAC location again I will say that they did finally resolve my issue in the end and I know the store manager was trying to be nice and I do appreciate that. What I don't appreciate is this: Went to MAC store last Saturday and purchased a brush set that was originally 52.50 for a sale price of 39.95. They had three types of sets. My daughter chose one in particular. When we got home we saw they gave us the wrong set. I should have checked before leaving store but that really shouldn't be my job. I went back yesterday to get the right set (set not used and I had receipt) and the sales associate told me that was fine but since the item was no longer on sale that I would have to pay the difference. What?????? That doesn't even make sense! It was an even exchange, product for product, and because of their error. Anyway, they got store manager involved who had to call several other store managers and corporate office. Really??? if I'm a store manager I have the power to make an even exchange and if I don't have that power then why call me a manager??? After about 30 minutes of waiting for another manager to call back she finally did the exchange. Ridiculous. I will never shop there again. I will get my MAC from Macy's or Nordstrom from now on. read more

Worst service ever! I went in to purchase lipstick today and the lady who was helping me gave me disinfectant to remove the lipstick from my lips, more than once. I was wondering why the liquid was hurting my lips. Lucky for me she was in such a hurry to leave work before 5pm that another person helped me make a purchase and gave me make up remover to remove the makeup instead of the disinfectant that the untrained and clueless attendant offered me before. I would never shop here again and because of this incident I will be considering switching makeup lines. read more

OMG I loved them so much I decided to write a review on here even though I already wrote one on Google. I just want to emphasize how great Jonathan is, I love him. I mean I love makeup and sometimes I struggle, but you can tell how effortless it is for him. He helped me and mom out so much that were still in shock about how well he knows his stuff, and this is days later. It's unbelievable how much he knew and it was even an honor when he complimented my makeup. It's like getting a compliment from a professional. Situated in the recently transformed section of the DelAmo Fashion Center (it is an amazing metamorphosis, BTW) the MAC Cosmetics boutique has finally arrived at its new location. The space is smaller than I expected but there's ample room for the product displays and the make-up stations. I have to compliment one of the assistant managers, Jonathan, whose friendly and accessible style immediately put me at ease in my quest for a perfect foundation. Through his thoughtful questions -- and more importantly, careful consideration of my responses -- he was able to provide a spot-on product recommendation. I've always had difficulty getting color matched -- I've nearly tried all of the brands (department store as well as speciality/prestige lines) -- even by other MAC artists (and unfortunately even at this store) so I couldn't believe how Jonathan was able to instantly (Instinctively?) select two perfect shades for me; one for the cooler months when I'm a bit paler and the other for the warmer months when I'm in the sun more. I've been back a few more times with additional questions on other products. And with his expert knowledge and skilled assessments, I feel like I can trust Jonathan completely. read more

I recently visited this store because I needed a new compact and a few other items . A nice young girl named Nikki helped me out and was absolutely wonderful ! Not only did she help me pick out a new compact and some other items I needed but she did my make up for me and guided me through the whole application process ! Walking into these places can be a little intimidating when you don't know a whole lot about make-up but Nikki made my experience very comfortable and top-notch ! Took my sister to the Del Amo solo store for a makeover and to shop for makeup. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Samantha Alfonso (Sammi) was our makeup artist. OMG, this woman is talented. She listened to what wanted and delivered with precision. My sister is very conservative and didn't want to look made up. Sammi used a light hand and chose just the right colors for a warm glow and natural lift. We didn't have an appointment and had to wait about 15 minutes. No big deal ... we expect a wait at any MAC store. It seems part of the culture of the company. Anyway, everyone there was helpful and welcoming. They get five stars for making us feeling welcome, helpful suggestions, salesmanship and talent. We'll definitely be returning. read more
