My mid-2012 MacBook Pro was slowing down and the trackpad was having problems, likely due to a swelling battery as I had the same problem in the past. I have been working with Macs for almost 30 years and at one point, I had my own business and supported 15 Mac users. I am capable of adding memory and hard drives to a Mac. When I looked at the video for installing a new battery, which requires extensive disassembly of computer, I decided to seek professional help. After looking at reviews of local shops, Mac Daddy looked like a good place to try. I purchased 16 GB of RAM and a 480 GB SSD on my own, because I could get better pricing, and Bodhi supplied my new battery. He had no problem installing parts that I supplied. I scheduled an appointment, dropped off my computer, and had it back in about 24 hours. During all of my interactions with Bodhi, he was always knowledgable, friendly, and his prices were reasonable. He totally understood the importance of redundant backups and even keeps old hard drives for a week, in case there is a problem with a new install. I will be telling all my friends about Bodhi at Mac Daddy in Sebastopol. Oh, and my laptop runs like a brand new computer, it's just as peppy as my wife's 2015 15" Retina Display Macbook Pro. My iPhone screen was severely damaged due to dropping it frequently. I have to carry my device with me at all times due to having apps on my phone for a continuous glucose monitor and an insulin pump. I called MacDaddy and Bodhi let me know I could come in the next day and he instructed me to bring an old iPhone so I can have the medical devices active. I also needed a new battery. When I dropped the phone off to get fixed, the tech set up the old iPhone to ensure the medical devices would work and I could also get calls and texts as well. That was a huge relief for me. The phone was ready in a few hours and the new screen was beautiful and he also put a screen protector on it for no charge. The battery works great and charges much faster now. We have gone to MacDaddy for iPhone repairs and we will continue to go in the future. My iMac with the original Yosemite OSX on it, was in dire need of several levels of upgrade. I was desperate in my search for someone skilled to do what was needed, and who also made house calls. I took a chance on MacDaddy after reading a number of Yelp reviews. MacDaddy gave me an estimate on the phone that was reasonable. We made an appointment, he arrived on time, he patiently and clearly talked me through the entire process of what he was doing, and spoke in a language that readily translated his tech knowledge into a more every day variety that I easily understood. Last fall, I made the very unfortunate mistake of leaving my new MacBook outside overnight, and of course, the first rain of the year happened to be that night. Needless to say, I was very dismayed at the idea that my new ( very expensive) computer would now be permanently destroyed. However, I researched the subject extensively and learned exactly what to do. First of all, DO NOT turn it on or plug it in. Next, open it up in a tent-like postion and put it on front of a fan or a heater on low setting ( do not overheat). Now, give it a couple days to air out. After a few days, bring it into MacDaddy and have them clean it. This will prevent corrosion. After doing all of this, to my great joy and delight, it turned on and operated perfectly from that day forward. My wife and I are reasonably smart about computers, but over the last 5 years computers have just become hard for us to track EVERYTHING with as much accuracy as we have in the past.....We decided we needed someone to look over our shoulder (or better we are looking over their shoulder now) to make sure we are doing the best thing with our computers. I have been using computers since 1985 and the biggest problem, that I have found, is finding a honest, quick, and professional shop to help me when things get fouled up. I have been all over and have had some fair help, but good, great, and consistent help with my laptop have been hard to find. Bohdi runs a great shop that puts service, courtesy, and kindness first. Was very pleased with the service , Bodhi and Mac Daddy gave us with the software problem on our desk top computer and the repair to an Iphone. Both things were done with efficiency and professionalism. It was soo nice to have some one who was responsible and trustworthy come to our home and do the phone repair but also go thru some functions of both that we needed to learn about. The display on my laptop conked out suddenly; not just during corona time, but during tax time, and my computer was out of warranty. A triple whammy. I've gone to these folks several times and each time they perform the miraculous. My iPhone fell into the ocean: has worked fine since their repair of it. My old MacBook Air has tons of quirks, and they always figure out a work-around so that I don't have to give up on it. I think it's great to have a helpful and reliable Apple repair business right here in Sebastopol. Excellent! I've gotten two different MacBooks fixed by them. Both times the service was superquick, they were totally helpful, the price was right, and they followed up to make sure that things were still working well after the fact. The Mac store at the mall tried to tell me they couldn't fix my MacBooks because they were more than five years old and tried to sell me a new computer. Mac Daddy repairs was very professional. They tried several times to do a quick fix of my iPad for free at first, and then for a nominal fee. Unfortunately, they decided that they would have to open it up instead to fix it. The cost to fix was a bit high for my price range, however, they ended up offering me a more than fair price to purchase my iPad. I've got a 3 year or so old MSI laptop with a battery that was seriously degraded. I called Mac Daddy and they took care of ordering the part and installing it one afternoon when I dropped it off. It's now working like new and was able to stay on from SFO to O'Hare last week.
