Looks a little sketchy from outside and surrounding area, but don't worry it's a good place! Discovered this place via yelp, searching for a dinner location anout halfway between Decatur and Lawrenceville, as we were meeting friends and neither of us wanted to travel too far. Seeking economical choice with good food & drinks. Mission accomplished here! Wasn't our first choice. Dining on a Monday is hard, as so many restaurants are closed. But it turned out to be an excellent choice, as we loved our apps, drinks and meals. Had a nice size table with plenty of room in the quieter dining area in the back, away from the bar and TVs. There are TVs in back area as well, just not as many. Started with the nachos with beef chili, and the blackened brussel sprouts. Both were delicious and gone quickly! I had the cheeseburger salad. After all this deep fried, heavy southern food and grits, wanted something a little lighter. The portion was huge, and it was delicious. Onion rings were delicious. Huge plate for a side dish. Others had various wraps, and everyone loved their meals. Good tap beer selection. We had a variety of cold ones. If you're in the area looking for a good local, affordable place to have a meal or drinks, pick this spot. Its family friendly as well.

A decent size parking lot, a round-robin of customers & I spoke to a few who are repeats- they love it! The restaurant is clean & organized- booths & tables. Charging stations (plugs) available as well. Walk up counter, place order, wait for your number to be called. Do not be in a rush- made-to-order!! Worth the wait!!! If you are not starving- split a meal with a friend- portions are huge & truly DELICIOUS!!! Ask for sauces, if you want. They have tartare, cocktail & homemade hot sauces. Fresh lemons too. Pepsi products, sweet/unsweetened tea... NO ALCOHOL! Outstanding employees! All so nice! Big menu- ask for one if needed, they have scrolling screens & it is hard to figure out. Menu is best to figure out what you want. Literally EVERYTHING was SO fresh & delicious!!! Mom thought salty, so maybe ask for light/no salt if this is a dietary restriction. They have fresh & fried options. Here are pics of our meals. All left with to-go's. Note, meals are served in to-go containers, not actual plates. The music is fun but WAY WAY WAY too loud. Heads up. I'd truly go back if in town. What an unexpected treat for dad's birthday. He was HAPPY!

Yeah, not too bad for a trailer sitting in a parking lot. We pass this place all the time since we…read morelive in the general area. My girl and I were always curious but never had the nerve to just go for it. Mostly, we just made fun of the name. I finally made the venture over just the other day. The guy working was extremely friendly, that is much appreciated! He went over the menu which is very elaborate (for a trailer kitchen, mind you). BBQ, burgers, wings, and everything fried. I went for the wings the first time out. They have around 12 flavors, including some odd ones like Cherryachi. The wings were medium sized, had good flavor and were cooked just right. Wait was only 6 minutes for fresh (well ones that were not siting under a heat lamp) and were ready to go! Not sure what we will try next time...only downside was I saw the previous health department score and they failed (after a re-do they passed). Keep that kitchen clean! Ah, it's all fried anyway...

Long had I seen the (admittedly, somewhat decrepit-looking) wing truck in the (beloved) Thriftown parking lot. For a while it wasn't operational, and I felt no great loss. After all, there is a KFC/Taco Bell right up the street for all my fried poultry and/or faux-taco needs. Lately when we drive to the store, though, the smell of the newly-reopened Wing Ding Doodle calls to me. It's basically like the Siren of Clarkston, ok? It wants my money, and I want what it has. We're all adults, people. But I have been kind of afraid. I know, I know, I'm afraid of everything. So far I'm alive so it's working out okay, I think. Today the boyfriend wanted a banh-mi, but I wanted something more...fried. Because I may or may not have drunk too many things last night. What? Leave me alone. While he was at Pho Truc, I asked him to visit a different truck. One that smells like grease and all things delicious. I just wanted some chicken fings with honey mustard and maybe some fries. I didn't ASK for the fries, but I hoped they would show up. And they did, and they were salty, and it was Lawry's. The fingers were actually, surprisingly good. I would have been happy with some previously-frozen kids' meal krap, but these tenders were way better than that. They were crispy on the outside, though not crunchy. Kind of from the Chick-fil-A school of strips. The honey mustard was damn fine. Everything was salty and I'm not complaining. I kind of wish I had stayed scared of The Doodle, because now I'm even more scared of how often I might be visiting it.

It's a walk up window spot with the menu and a bell, when you're ready to order, ring the bell. The service is friendly and succinct. Non invasive and just helpful without asking when needed. The seating area is a mix between covered and uncovered, with a small speaker playing contemporary tunes at a respectable level. There are string lights above, and I can only imagine how beautiful this all looks at night. I'd read a LOT about their fish sandwich. That it is a good size helping. That it has a great light fresh vinegar sauce with thinly sliced carrots and other crunchy veg. The fish tasted fresh fried. And I have to say, this is the Best fish sandwich I have ever tasted. I only am upset I hadn't come much sooner. I will have to return, probably on a monthly basis for that fish sandwich. There are enough pictures out there of the sandwich. But I also had the Thai basil lemonade and it was a nice pairing. Not a waste of time, effort or dough. Just go.

Bathrooms are extremely clean. Staff is friendly and fast. Cons. They only have outdoor seating. Most of the seats are stools without backs. There were some flies and a wasp lurking in the patio. Fans were blowing away my napkins. When I paid in cash they rounded my bill up to the next dollar. Never had someone do that before. $34 for a cheesesteak, potatoes, and small drink seems to be overly priced at a take-out spot. It would be more understanding if you could dine-in or had waiter service. I ordered the Korean Cheesesteak with smashed fried potatoes and a Bourbon Peach Punch. The drink was tasty but really small to cost $10. It looked like a 6oz cup. I would prefer to pay $5 more for a full glass. The smashed fried potatoes were covered in a sauce and some of the best potatoes I have had anywhere. The cheesesteak was made with pork (also a new experience for me) and had plenty of cheese and onions.
