Had such a relaxing, wonderful experience at Mac Nail Spa! Booking through their website was quick and easy, and they also accept walk-ins (according to their sign outside). I got a Gel-X manicure with a French tip add-on and a gel pedicure, and both turned out beautifully. The service was exceptional! Each technician was gentle, detail-oriented, and checked in throughout to make sure I was happy with how everything looked. They were very open to feedback and happy to make adjustments. I left loving my nails and will definitely be back!

I was in so much pain from the endless drilling they did here and they hacked at my cuticles so much it started tearing. I went in for a gel extension fill and she spent almost an hour buffing away the apex with a soiled drill bit. She used way too much pressure and too large of a drill bit so it kept grazing my cuticles. When it came to the actual builder gel part, she was so impatient that there was no actual artistry behind it, and she painted it on so clumpy and lumpy that I was like, what is the point of going to a professional. I'm so disappointed because I really wanted to like the place. The interior is cute at first but then you see all the dirty polishes and how they reuse soiled tools and you never want to go back

The staff was nice, but I left disappointed. I paid $100 to have brittle nails and to basically look like a need a fill ‍ 2 stars tho cause they were nice and they offer free beverages (coffee, tea, mango juice etc). I called and went in same day for a dip manicure with chrome. It was my first time trying this salon. My nails chipped and broke within 10 days... which is unusual bc my dip manicures usually last 5-6 weeks at other salons. My nails feel brittle, and the shape was bulky and uneven--apex was so thick and far from my cuticle that it looked like I already needed a fill. The nail tech used a towel covered in old nail dust and clippings, and even massaged lotion on me at the end with the same dirty gloves. I appreciate the friendliness and free dri, but I wouldn't return unless I had no other option. Pics are from today, 10 days after getting a dip manicure here

I made an appointment for Saturday afternoon - super quiet and peaceful! Sam worked magic on my sad-state hands ! I got gel-x cat eye nails with some leopard print designs based on a video I saw on instagram - she did an AMAZING job, even working around a fresh (accidental) dog bite/snag on one of my nails. She was so precise and careful! Thank you so much - I'm vacation ready now ! The pics don't do it justice - I am obsessed.

This was my first time going to this salon. I am in the works of trying to find a salon closer to home and this was a close runner up. The inside is very clean and all the staff were lovely. My nail tech was Stephanie and she paid so much attention to detail. Why this is 4/5 stars for me: I went in with gel on and only needed a regular gel mani and was there for an hour and a half. If you have that kind of time, then this is a good place!

The team here is so kind and friendly. I made an appointment on their website which was very convenient and easy. Vivian gave me a lovely spring manicure and pedicure and quinny was an amazing host. It's a clean little place right on divisadero and I was able to find street parking very easily. Will be back! read more

I came by Mac Nail Spa to get my nails done for what ended up being my engagement, and the whole experience exceeded my expectations! I asked for glazed donut-style nails on extensions, and Sang did an amazing job bringing my vision to reality. The picture posted was taken five days after I got them done, and they still look fresh. I really can't stop looking at my nails! Making a reservation was easy through Yelp, but it seems like they accept walk-ins, too. Upon arrival, you're offered water, tea, or juice to sip on during your appointment (so premium!). I brought a photo as inspiration with little other information, but my nail artist was able to give recommendations on good base colors. I felt super comfortable providing feedback along the way -- my nail artist was kind enough to rebuff my nails and apply a different polish when I pointed out that the one we were using seemed a bit too sheer for what I wanted. She also cleaned up my cuticles after the manicure, which was something I hadn't experienced at other salons. And after your nails are done, you also get a hand massage (even more premium!). I also came by once before to get my brows done, and I can honestly say that it was the most thorough brow waxing experience I've had in years. My brows looked crazy coming in, but the staff took their time to refine them into a clean, natural shape using wax and clippers. I can totally see why this place is always busy when I walk by. Would 100% recommend this salon to anyone! read more

I hate to write bad reviews, but would never come back here. Went in for a quick pedicure, and the technician immediately dug into the sides of my nails aggressively to get my "ingrowns", making me bleed. I told her not to do my cuticles but she still did. Nails cut completely uneven and poor polish job. A week later, my toes are still in pain. Not worth it at all and will not be coming back. read more

I got my boyfriend to get the pedicure with me after seeing it on a stroll of the neighborhood; luckily, they were open to walk-ins. We got the Classic Pedicure, which was only $35 each. It came with a lemon sugar scrub, warm lotion, hot stone, and regular nail polish (you can always ask for sheer). They also gave us complimentary mango juice. Recently gotten my nails done for a wedding and within 72 hours, my nails started to lift. This has never happened before. The lady that usually does my gel x nails wasn't working so another lady did them but when they were prepping my nails, there was still some residue from the previous gel x that I had on. Overall the ladies were nice but I wasn't expecting to come out of the salon with my nails lifting so soon. read more

I'm super sad. I called and asked if they do dip and powder and they said yes. So, I made an appointment for my son and I to have mani pedi. We showed up and they did great with my son, but they told me they don't do dip and powder but gel extensions. Long story short, they started on my son and so I felt compelled to go forward. I let them talk me into doing gel extensions and cutting my natural nails completely off, and they mismatched my toes to my hand, there are all sorts of bumps because they file and don't clean all the files shavings off before they put the polish on. So there are all sorts of mistakes and being cut to top it off and having my cuticles look worse from when I started was not what I wanted to pay for. I thought they were going to give me a discount. But I end up paying $184. Not only will I never go back there. But I also wouldn't send my worst enemy there. read more

Amazing work from KATIE. Thank you so so much! These are the best, very delicate, and fast nails I've had ever. I've never done GEL X before but these were so beautiful. I can't wait to go back! The price was reasonable and treatment was very nice . It was $90 but for GEL X any size it's $70. I got chrome on my nails so that was an extra $20. Really enjoyed my stay. This wasn't just a nail appointment. It was my attempt to give my sister a chance to feel beautiful again after everything she has been through. Before the appointment, I asked for the total and even offered to pay her upfront through Venmo. She told me not to and said I could pay after the service was completed. Unfortunately, this experience was heartbreaking from start to finish. During the appointment, my sister called me several times because the technician had become fixated on whether she was going to be paid. My sister was trying to reassure her that I would absolutely pay, but the technician continued bringing it up. At one point, my sister asked if she wanted to speak with me, and the technician responded that she was working while my sister put me on speakerphone. I again reassured her that I would pay her and reminded her that I had even offered to pay before the appointment. There was never any question that she was going to be paid. Instead of focusing on making my sister feel comfortable, the repeated conversations about payment created unnecessary stress during what was supposed to be a special experience. My sister told me the technician was rushed, unkind, and didn't make the appointment feel relaxing or special in any way. There was no hand or leg massage with lotion, no pampering, no attention to detail--just a rushed service. The quality of the manicure and pedicure was also extremely disappointing. The polish is uneven, on the skin, and does not reflect what I would expect from a $175 professional service. I've attached photos so others can judge for themselves. After the service was finished, my sister was crying and wanted the technician to leave. Instead, she refused to leave my sister's hospital room until payment was received. By that time, I was driving on the highway. I explained that I could not safely send a Venmo while driving and asked for a few minutes so I could pull over. She still refused to step outside the room or give my sister any privacy while she was visibly upset. She could have easily waited outside the room for a few moments, but she chose not to. The nurses ultimately became involved because my sister was so distressed. I still honored my commitment and paid her in full. However, I also told her that I was extremely disappointed and that I had every right as a customer to express that disappointment. Paying someone because you keep your word does not mean the service met expectations. The part that hurts me the most is what happened afterward. My sister called me crying and said it had been a terrible day. Then she said something I'll never forget: "I feel so ugly now." That was the exact opposite of what I had hoped this experience would give her. I wanted her to feel cared for, beautiful, and valued. Instead, she was left feeling embarrassed, upset, and heartbroken. When you choose to work with people who are elderly, disabled, or recovering from serious medical conditions, technical skill is only part of the job. Kindness, patience, compassion, and professionalism matter just as much. Sadly, this experience lacked all of those qualities.

I was going for a cranberry cat eye look & it was my first time ever doing a cat eye so I do not know how they usually are done. I spoke to the nail tech, she was sweet and helpful but my issue and why I would dock half a star if I could, was I left with a totally different color because she said she had to do a black base for the cat eye look. I wish I had done more individual research because that wasn't the case at all. I still did leave happy with my nails considering we tested a bunch of different glittery shades. But, I am still confused till this day why she said it must be a black base. I would recommend anyone coming here but if you aren't sure like me about a new look, find a video or do thorough research just incase your nail tech isn't either. But, overall, amazing staff and accommodations + $155 for russian manicure is unheard of.

The facility is nice and clean, with several colors to choose from. If you have a design in mind, just show it to them and they can accommodate! This is my second time coming here because I loved my first set from them. Yahoska is very meticulous and detail oriented. She makes sure that the design is what you want and everything is OK. When they didn't have light blue cateye, the nail techs spoke to each other to come up with a plan to decide to do light blue nail polish with silver cateye on top. It was nice to see the collaboration :) I'll be coming back!

I asked for a pedicure, and they absolutely delivered. The technician used an electric callus remover to shave off all the built-up dead skin, then carefully cleaned everything up with professional tools. The amount of dead skin that came off was honestly impressive, gross but satisfying. The pictures really are worth a thousand words. To finish everything off, she gave me a relaxing gel scrub treatment that left my feet feeling incredibly smooth and refreshed. It was the perfect finishing touch after the deep cleanup. Great service, friendly atmosphere, and attention to detail. My feet went in looking like they needed help and came out feeling brand new. When Lina does my nails they last 4 weeks, sometimes 5 if I get a natural color. They don't lift, or chip, they are strong and the color lasts. They only had two techs working, so they ended up handling multiple customers at once. It took a lot longer to get our nails done, and Jenny had to stay 2 hours past closing to accommodate us, but she did a fantastic job!! She's amazing at doing detailed designs and is clearly very experienced. I had to pivot from my original design but she was really skilled and I honestly let her have full reign of the new design, but they turned out beautiful. She put a ton of detail into making sure my nails were perfect to the very last minute. FYI a gel manicure with design and gems/pearls (self provided) was $65 pre tip, which is more than they list on the site. They prefer cash but venmo is also accepted. Very peaceful vibe inside, with a restroom and water provided. They don't rush you at all which is nice :)

I was greeted with friendly workers and the owner of the place took the time and patience to explain everything to me. The aesthetic of the place was beautiful and it's something I have never seen before. Little snacks were placed out for customers which I thought was very sweet and caring of the owner. I came in only wanting to know the price but with the affordable deals and the aesthetic of the place, I decided to get some gel nails. Everyone who works there is incredibly nice , it is so easy to make an appointment, price is great and every set I have gotten are the BEST quality. The ladies there were super helpful, skilled and super nice. Not to mention, they have stunning chairs and tables, nothing like I've ever seen before. The nail powder girl that did my nails is so slow. She only dipped my nails into dip powder 3x . I did bails with extensions. Three of the bails were crooked and don't look good. Day after one of my bails already broke! Would not recommend going to Tran for nail powder with extension nails. read more
