Hidden Gem for Nails in SF! I stopped by The Beauty Lounge in San Francisco for a last-minute manicure, and I'm so glad I did. The space is clean, chic, and super relaxing -- exactly what I needed after a long week. I got a gel mani and regular pedi, and both were done with great attention to detail. The nail technician took her time shaping and prepping, and my polish came out flawless -- no smudges, bubbles, or missed spots. Plus, they have a huge selection of colors (including all the trendy ones!). What really stood out was how gentle and professional the team was. I was looking for a place to get a quick pedicure when I arrived in SF and stumbled upon this after having lunch nearby. It had decent enough reviews and ratings and there was no wait. I was the only customer there and there were only two people working. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, the experience was fine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The person who did my pedicure was nice and efficient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] it was pretty quiet since I was the only one there, which was fine. She was thorough on my toes and the price was average for a gel pedicure. I was perplexed to see nail clips on the floor, which I didn't notice until I was leaving. The pedicure has kept up though, so no serious complaints.
I did a walk in for extensions. They told me that because my natural nail beds are so healthy and nice to just do hard gel and I absolutely love it. This place is a simple design and it's right next to the gas station on Lombard and Divisadero. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is officially my go to for gel x nails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Normally gel nails last only 2-3 weeks on me before it starts to pull my hair. If it's too long it breaks. But with their gel x, I can last a whole month with no issues. It's so strong, I can buckle kids seat belts and the nails won't break. They do crazy cool designs. I'm not super adventurous with designs but I'm a fan of their cat eye polish:)

Came here to remove my acrylics and get some gel x nails... + was able to come in same day (few hours after I called) even tho I didn't have an appointment + was helped quickly and I like that they offer drinks (I just got water) + spacious; sat at the back while getting acrylics taken off then moved to the front for applying gel x + brought an inspo picture and Fan (idk the spelling) was the ultimate color matcher finding a great baby blue shade - she's also the one that does nail art, very nice -- ask for her + overall liked the design and shape of nails I got + like that they give you a hot towel at the end, wish they did massages tho - wish they had explained gel x vs hard gel bit better - another lady who was applying gel x/base coats and solid coat of paint filed my skin to remove some excess polish, which hurt and also basically tore my skin off (few marks on other fingers too so slightly painful) They do a discount if you write a yelp review so will prob come back at least once more.
Second time here and another amazing job, this time by Christy. She gave me the Barbie-inspo nails of my dreams. So glad to find a place that does Gel X and gives you pineapple sparkling water! All of the women who work here are sweet, from what I've seen, and they definitely have some loyal regulars...I'll probably become one too!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I've been going to The Beauty Lounge for almost 3 to 4 years now, and I love it every single time![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I started coming here because I lived close by, but even though I've moved, I'm still more than willing to make the trip just for my nails. Jennifer used to do my nails, but since she moved, Liam has taken over. He is incredibly detail-oriented and a total perfectionist! This is my second time having him do my nails, and I am absolutely thrilled with how they turned out. On top of that, the longest I've ever had to wait is 10 to 15 minutes (and they are always so polite and apologetic if there is any delay), plus [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love that I can just text them to book an appointment![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly, highly recommend! read more

I went here for my first post vaccination mani/pedi recently. I was happy that I found a salon that does the ombré French manicure in my neighborhood. I reviewed their site & made an appointment for 3 services, gel ombré French manicure, spa pedicure & lash lift almost a month in advance to ensure my time slot on a Friday afternoon around 3PM. Their text message service to confirm appointments was a little squirrelly because I received a confirmation text after verbally making my appointment however I received a cancellation text the day before my service. In a panic, I called the salon & they confirmed that my appointments were still good. My spa pedicure was standard & the pedicure bowls have a removable liner which is refreshed for each client. I brought my own polish but they have a lot of options. I loved my ombré French manicure results & have received lots of compliments. Phan is the art queen & master & I think that she does most of the nail art featured on the pictures based on the reviews. She was super quick with the gel polish design too. The lady who performed my pedicure also prepped my manicure & removed my previous gel manicure with Dremel then acetone soak for remaining gel & filing & cuticle care. My lash lift was also performed by Phan. My lashes were beautifully curled. I would definitely return for beauty services. read more

I do not recommend this place. Went for dip powder ended up with acrylics I understand that they close at 7pm but don't take 6pm appointments if you can't do a good job. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Asked on the phone for designs which she mentioned she has when I arrived she said she don't have it then she said she do It was very very confusing[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did not felt welcomed not to mention that whenever I ask her to do or correct something she looks at me and start talking in her language with her coworker which is very disrespectful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Anyway instead of talking too much i'm just gonna leave these pictures and by the way these were done in less than a week. I'm so disappointed. I was charged 75$ and 15$ for peals I left 15$ tip but really not worth a penny read more

I did not want to write this review after a year of going to this salon, but I feel compelled so that others can watch out for this. I contracted what nail salons call a "greenie." It's a bacterial infection on my nail due to dirty instruments and it's highly contagious to the other nails. I did have a vulnerable thumb with a divot on the nail, however what I witnessed after doing research and speaking w my doctor, is appalling. Christy filed off the green part of my thumb and used the EXACT SAME FILE on all the rest of my nails. She then proceeded to cover everything with hard gel again, saying i could "just have it removed after the holiday." Apparently, you were never supposed to cover the green infected nail. So now, I am extremely worried that the bacterial infection has spread to other nails. I went to my Doctor who prescribed me an antibiotic, this was not a fungal infection that Christy thought it was. The salon also over books so you will always wait past your appointment time and as you can see in my photos, the most current job was done quickly and my nails are thick and lumpy. She also forgot to cut my cuticles so when I reminded her she did it really quickly but only three days after the manicure, you can see how poor they look. I also saw an instrument drop and she picked it up off the ground and used it on my nails. This salon is not sanitary. read more

Making a reservation was fairly simple. There is a long list of services so make sure you select the correct option. I arrived a bit early for my reservation and the front desk man offered me a drink and massage chair while I waited for my turn. Due to a situation with some other clients, I ended up waiting over an hour after my scheduled reservation before being seen. No one checked up on me until I decided to ask about my appointment. Christie did my gel mani. She's super sweet and particular with how my nails looked. However, she kept getting pulled away to help another tech and work on another customer. Overall, the manicure was decent but the experience was kind of chaotic. I think their booking system doesn't account for people being late or adding additional services so they end up overbooking the system which causes long waiting times. Also, I've never been charged for chrome powder, but they charged an additional $20. Just FYI. read more

I got some nice nails here :) Brought in an inspo pic and they did a good job of replicating the design. I got my previous Gel X extensions removed, plus a hard gel overlay, plus this design - all in it was $110 excluding tip. Be prepared to sit in the chair for a bit - this took 2 hours for me, which is fairly standard. The technician was kind enough to stay and find a fix to accommodate my design. I also didn't know about hard gel overlay, so I learned something new. read more

I've gotten my nails done here several times and each time I have been impressed. They have a very friendly staff and have been very accommodating to making appointments. I've gotten my nails done by two nail techs Kristy and I believe the other may be the owner but each time they exceed my expectations. I've read a few reviews below expressing the staff being rude but I have never once experienced that in the last 6 months going. I would highly recommend this place since they are one of the few places in the city that does nail art. read more

I've been going here for almost a year and I definitely recommend it! The staff is all very sweet and understanding. I love going to them for hard gel and gel x and anything with designs-- most of the staff is great at matching the inspo pics I've brought in! Price wise, I think they're very similar to most nail salons in the Marina area My one recommendation to make your visit better is definitely book in advance and get there on time if not early! They're very busy during peak hours so if you try doing a walk in, you will be waiting for a while. The location itself is convenient, clean, and nicely decorated! I appreciate the snacks and drinks they offer too. read more

Recap: Friendly gentleman at the front, atrocious customer service during and post service (literally sent a screenshot with my number saved as "Lauren Nightmare"), $85 nail art that didn't at all match the quality of true nail art with gel that chipped next day, misshapen nails and flimsy gel paint, and smaller / non comfortable salon space. I did go here with the assumption that they could do any nail art, as indicated by their site and by their verbal and written confirmation. I texted in the nail design, which they later said was a sticker (it certainly was not), to confirm if this could be done. The finished nail design was ok. It definitely was not as I requested, the paint was thin and uneven and not properly covering the nails, but it wasn't enough for me to complain about. Beyond the art, the nail tech cut my nails without verification of shape first so the shape was not as I wanted and overall each nail is pretty crooked. During my service another guest was in to get a re-do and the tech helping had refused to actually re-do the nails and was pretty abrasive with the whole interaction. The morning after my nails were done I noticed that 4 of the nails were chipped, so I messaged the business again with pictures of the damage. Instead of offering a partial refund or a refund they insisted I come back for a discounted service. They switched this offer to free re-do, however I have no confidence in their ability to actually do a better job and can't afford to waste time. I typically do Japanese or Korean style nail art, which runs right about the price I paid for this very simple nail art ($85 with tip). They asked me to come back for a second chance as the only resolution to solving this issue, however between the terrible nails and horrible customer experience I have no desire to come back. After some back and forth they sent me "accidental" texts with a screenshot of my number saved as "Lauren Nightmare" along with some truly appalling commentary about me. Yes, seriously. read more

This is a super cute salon, the owners (Phan and Louis) are amazing and kind. I love the nail art Phan did for me. I came out exactly as I had envisioned which I truly appreciate. I've been to lots of salons and The Beauty Lounge is top-knotch. Tonight I'm going to try their lash lift and extension service -- I can't wait. Phan also did hard gel overlays for me, and my nails look very natural. I'm really pleased and look forward to being a long-term regular customer! read more

Update - don't waste your money. Had a nail chip and was excited to learn that it'd be fixed complimentarily as it was still under the 2 week guarantee window, only to later be told they didn't feel comfortable doing it. Wtf. Save your money and go somewhere else! read more
