Because it was my first time, I asked the technician what she recommended for a Classic set for my eye shape and she said a cat eye. The whole process was relaxing. You get a soft blanket while they apply the lashes. When she was done, I was super in love with the results! I'll be coming back! read more

I've come here three times over the last couple of months for the following services: gel pedicure ($130 for a top tech), gel-X manicure ($190 for a top tech), and gel-X removal ($40). For the gel pedicure and gel-X manicure, my (top) tech was Naki, who was very meticulous and professional. It was my first time getting a gel-X manicure, and she took the time to help me pick both the color and the length. I absolutely loved how they turned out! Since I work in healthcare and in the operating room, I unfortunately had to have the gel-X manicure removed at the end of my vacation (sad). Dana helped me with the removal, and she was also excellent. She took the time to not only remove the extensions but also to shape my natural nails. The interior is bright, modern, and clean (they always have Gossip Girl playing in the back). During my gel-X manicure, I was offered champagne and a macaron, which was a thoughtful touch. I was super excited to get a russian mani at Look at Me after trying a couple of other spots that specialize in russian manicures in the city. From the moment you see the storefront, the vibes are super cute and the interior is sleek but comfortable. My nail tech started with removing my old hard gel right away and was quick and efficient at shaping my nails and perfectly trimming my cuticles. She was thoughtful, checking in with me to make sure I was happy with the shape and length and I got such a nice neutral white with a subtle sparkle for the wintertime. I loved the color! I was also offered coffee, champagne, or tea towards the beginning of my session and the green tea I opted for was a great cozy drink to pass the time with. Great experience and I would highly recommend this spot for a high quality manicure! read more

This was my first time trying a russian manicure after seeing it all over social media. After getting seated, I was offered coffee, champagne or water. The experience already felt very luxurious. I had gel nails on already so she removed my old gel with a filer. Most spots make you soak your nails with acetone which isn't the best for your nails. Since it was the holidays, I went with a dark cherry nail which she delivered! She was so precise with cutting my cuticles and the painting around the edges. I've never seen a nail tech this precise before. On top of that, my nails were so glossy and shiny. I literally couldn't stop looking at them. If you're looking for clean nails that last at least 3-4 weeks, come here! read more

I hardly write reviews, but it was my first time here and I was disappointed, not what I expected especially from a place that costs as much as it does. I booked for a Russian hard gel manicure ($110), as well as a gel pedicure ($120). This was my first time in over four years, getting my nails done, I took a chance at this place. When I went in I was taken 20 minutes earlier (12PM) to my original booking time (12:20PM) and I was actually very happy about this. My nail tech was Aliya and she did a good job on my nails (not worth $110 though, I'll tell you that much. I will insert a picture). However, I noticed it only took her 45 minutes to complete, not the entire 2 hours. Assuming I could get my pedicure now, considering she finished early, and took me in early, I went to the desk to let the receptionist know and she told me I needed to wait another 2 hours until I could get my pedicure. I asked why, considering I was already done with my manicure, and she said my "appointment" was at 2:30pm. I let her know that I booked both these services at the same time and she said "That's how our system works and we're fully booked." I found this funny considering one, they took me in early. Two, on the email confirmation, it did not tell me the time of each appointment, just how long it could take and who would be doing my nails (will insert a screenshot of confirmation). Another thing I noticed was the person who was supposed to do my pedicure, Hunter (I saw the name tag), had been at the front with her, not only while my nails were still being done, but when I was talking to her after the fact (he was making a coffee and wasn't actively serving anyone, I want to say for about 20-25 minutes). I asked if I can just cancel it because I wasn't expecting to have to wait two plus hours for a pedicure. I also don't know what I'm going to do for two hours, waiting, while my nail tech isn't even servicing anyone, and can easily start on my nails now. The receptionist goes "Okay, you'll still be charged 100%, are you sure?." I let her know, this is a bit of an inconvenience, considering she took me early, finished early, and now I have to "wait" (again, even though my intended nail tech wasn't even helping anyone, and it doesn't make sense that I can't get my pedicure early, when I got my nails done earlier). I let her know that I'm only canceling because me waiting two hours for a pedicure, because my manicure was finished way earlier, doesn't make any sense (You shouldn't have taken me in earlier then). To still charge me $120 for a service I'm not getting, on top of my nail tech not doing anyone's nails is actually quite ridiculous. She goes "Sorry, it's still going to be 100% cancellation fee". Now, I understand the fee if I cancelled the day before, or even if I had cancelled the day of and not shown up at all. They are still a business and need to make money. I can understand the other angle, however that's not what happened in my case. I was still being charged for a service that I was not going to get, on top of my nail tech not doing anything. When I let her know this was my first time here and that I didn't really like that to cancel, I had to pay for the service still, all while knowing I needed to wait two hours when my manicure was already done and my nail tech isn't doing anything. Her response was insensitive and said "You can either come back or wait here, it's up to you". From there I just decided to let it go and pay, because I was not going to wait for two hours for a 40 minute pedicure, that could've been done the whole time we were talking. She tried to me a "discount" but the total still ended up being $230 because I needed to tip the lady who did my manicure. As I was leaving I still said thank you before walking out and she completely ignored me. For all the good reviews and TikTok's I've seen of this place, this is why I said I was disappointed. I'm not sure what the receptionist had against me, but she wasn't as nice as all the reviews were saying. If anything, she was dismissive and a tad rude. I also think charging your customers so much money, there should be a little bit of empathy and compassion, especially for first-time customers. Being that it was my first time, not exactly the experience I wanted to have. Now I'm down $230, with decent nails that I could've done myself if I knew how to do it, and no pedicure. Needless to say, I don't think I'll come back here. read more

Easy online booking the night before with descriptive options and estimated times of each service and price of add ons! I really appreciated the transparency and fair pricing. First let me say, the entire experience from start to finish was very professional and spa like. You really feel pampered and care for! The girls are so sweet and nice and make you feel welcomed. When this location opened in the mission, I had to come check it out! I had the chance to try the Russian gel manicure and the classic eyelash extensions. Both experiences went really well and my nail technician and the esthetician were both attentive and professional. I love my clean and natural looking nails. They're holding on really well for over 2 weeks now. Just got my first ever Russian manicure and I'm obsessed!! This salon just opened in the mission and is super nice. 1. The manicurist was super nice and detailed oriented. She spent almost 45 mins in cleaning and prepping my nail and cuticles alone. The nail polish part was also super meticulous. 2. The vibes - 100% friendly no mean girls in sight everyone was so nice. Oh and I requested GEL X and they didn't tell me that they were doing hard gel which is completely different and this ruined my set. I only know because it took so long and he spent 45 minutes putting on a clear something he didn't even tell me about. What a frustrating experience.

I ended up feeling tense as I sat and eased my feet into warm water. Annie, my nail artist, told me to relax but my body wanted to do the opposite. I think I get tense when my toenails are being cut as if to anticipate pain, but when I felt comfortable with her technique, I started to relax. It was probably the most relaxed I've been all week. Annie was sweet and attentive. She also did a really good job removing my cuticles and massaging my calves. I needed it! It was a great way to end a stressful day at work. I would love to come back!

I had to repeat myself multiple times and eventually had to switch to Gel-X just to regain the length that was removed. There also seemed to be a language barrier. However, instead of asking a coworker for clarification, she continued with what she thought I said rather than confirming my request. I ultimately had to stop and ask another staff member walking by to help translate. Additionally, pricing was not transparent. The service is listed online as $70 for a gel builder fill, but I was charged $85. When I asked about it, I was told I had already been given a discount, which was confusing and not explained. This technician needs more professionalism and should be spoken to regarding both technique and customer care. Overall, this experience felt rushed and careless, which was very disappointing given how great my first visit was.

What made me especially uncomfortable, though, was that the technician put their hands in my hair without asking first. That completely crossed a personal boundary and felt very disrespectful. The 10 minutes of massage for both were so nice, especially the shoulders and upper back that came with the manicure. But during the gel remove, the gel on my fingers was removed with the drill. It was the same on my toes but I don't have an issue there. Normally I wouldn't mind, but my natural fingernails were drilled down so thin that even though I cut my nails short, they're ripping at the ends with normal daily wear and tear. I went on Saturday morning and I've had two nails rip at the ends already and it is only Tuesday morning. I'm not sure if it was because I came in with long nails already (imagine asking for a medium-long set) and they may have been mistaken for gel-x or something of the sort, but it was just my natural nails with gel on top. I can even feel on all of my fingernails just how thin they were drilled down because suddenly all my nails are very flimsy, even with several gel coats on top. The rest of the service and experience were great, so it's a bit disappointing to feel like I regret how much I paid because of how weak my fingernails became after this appointment. Regardless I would still return in the future if I want the pampering experience, but if I can do without the massage and just need my nails done I may choose another salon instead. Just something to note if you're someone who is worried about your nail strength. UPDATE 8/4 9:48PM: Another nail ripped pretty far down just from scratching my head :-(

A very tasteful, custom design for an 11 y.o. They lasted almost 4 weeks but finally time to take them off. We made an appt for 2:30 today and due to Jenny not getting the message we had to wait about 30-40 minutes. Not the biggest deal, really nice out and our favorite boba spot just a few blocks down Polk St. When we got back the other woman in the shop started taking off the gels, they were taking a while to saturate enough to fully remove so the cotton with acetone and foil had to stay on longer. My daughter's fingers started burning and when we let them know, Jenny prompted the other woman to take a look. Not ready yet so while the owner was finishing up with another client this other woman needed to take care of it. At one point a customer had to ask this other woman to help my daughter, that she would kindly wait. It took over an hour to remove and clean up her nails, no manicure after. Two hours later my daughter's poor fingers are still burning. Jenny was quite apologetic and adjusted the price as a courtesy. We love Jenny but maybe she needs some more support in her shop.

I had my very first Russian manicure at the Pacific Ave location and loved how my nails turned out, so I knew I had to come back! This time, I decided to check out the Valencia St. location, and I'm so glad I did. I came in on a Sunday morning and arrived early since I expected parking to be difficult, but everything about my visit was such a great experience. The decor outside is so cute and welcoming, and the salon itself has such a nice atmosphere. My nail tech, Noza, was so kind and did an amazing job. She was very detailed and precise, and I could tell she really took her time to make sure my nails were perfect. I honestly enjoyed my experience at this location even more than my first visit at the other location! They also offer drinks, which was such a nice touch, and I loved that they even have a cordless back/neck massager during your appointment. It made the whole experience feel extra relaxing and luxurious. I live about an hour away, but I would definitely make the drive back to this location again for another Russian manicure. I might even try a Russian pedicure next time! Definitely recommend checking out Look At Me SF if you're looking for a detailed and relaxing nail experience. read more

I just had the best manicure and pedicure in San Francisco, California. I tend to get a lot of cuticles around my fingernails especially because I wash my hands all the time my cuticles tend to get really dry and my nails brittle. I discovered look at me a few months ago and since then I am hooked. They are very attentive to the details and take their time working on your nails to make sure they remove the cuticles gently, file and paint them with great care to give you the best long lasting results. The entire process takes about two hours. Your nails are going to look so clean and professional and the best part they will look amazing for about 3 weeks no chips . My nails have grown long and stronger and my cuticles don't peel or get excoriated like they did with traditional manicure. They also offer complimentary tea, champagne or coffee to the clients and they always have beautiful roses at the lobby . I highly recommend Anna , Perizat and Nuray as technicians. read more

First of all I haven't gotten my lashes done in YEARS!! So I was looking for a place that seemed legit so I know my money is being well spent. Well this little gem had just opened so when booking I didn't know I was booking at this location and went to the wrong one!!! The location on California was quick to call and ask to push my appointment so I could still get my lashes done. They took me in as soon as I arrived and they did a phenomenal job! Truly I know they shouldn't have seen me that same day because my appointment time ran so late past closing But they have awesome service and they've answered all my follow up questions via text which is easier since I can't really make the time to make calls during work. I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this nail salon, and I would not recommend it to anyone, especially given the price. The service took an excruciating three hours, which is far too long for something that should have been a relaxing experience. To make matters worse, I had to change the color twice--both times against my wishes. I originally chose a color I loved, but they insisted on switching it, and each time, I was given something that didn't feel right. The result was nothing short of awful. My nails came out bubbly and wide, which completely ruined the look I was hoping for. The pain during the process was also unbearable at times, and the cuticle work and filing were sloppy at best. They were rough and uneven, leaving my nails looking worse than when I came in. All in all, for the price I paid, this service was a huge letdown. I had the most amazing experience at Look at Me! I got my first Russian manicure with Naki, and she was incredible from start to finish--so thorough and detail-oriented, and my nails came out absolutely perfect! My cuticles have never looked better! The receptionist (I forgot to ask her name!) was also amazing. She welcomed me the moment I walked in, walked me to my station, and even offered refreshments. She even stopped by during my service to ask if I wanted a refill, which was such a thoughtful touch. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere of the salon was calm, clean, and beautifully designed. I booked a 10am appointment, and they started right on time, which I really appreciated. My nail technician, Ann, was incredibly attentive and detail-oriented. My nails were so bad, because I am a hairstylist, and I was also in dire need of manicure. I received a service by dictation, which was in training. My nail technician was very focused and didn't mind asking for assistance before she moved forward with anything as I was new to the service as well. She was very sweet and made sure I was satisfied with the work. Thing to point out is Timing - these are long appointments. Plan accordingly, it takes around 2-2.5 hours with junior tech. I moved to SF over the Summer and was thrilled to discover their beautiful Pac Heights location, after receiving a lackluster set from another studio in the city. They kindly asked if I would like to use the bathroom before the service and gave me a warm tea and sweet snack. I do not recommend getting a Gel-X mani here. First, the recommendation I was given didn't make sense. My natural nails had grown out pretty long, so I asked for hard gel. Multiple staff members recommended Gel-X extensions instead for the design I wanted. My natural nails were only slightly shorter than my reference image, but I wanted to trust their expertise. I was wrong. I chose the shorter extension length and it ended up being the same length of my natural nail before the tech cut them, so the extensions added nothing and I unnecessarily had my nails cut. Second, the application quality doesn't match the price. There are ill-fitting corners throughout. Rather than sizing up to an extension that fit my nail bed, the tech filed down my side walls to force the smaller one to fit, which hurt. One extension on my index finger is visibly crooked. I pointed it out and was told it looked straight - looking at it again and in photos, it's clearly off-center. There's also still cured gel on my skin, which is a contact dermatitis risk. Third, the pricing was not transparent. I paid $115 for a Gel-X removal and Gel-X manicure. The pricing on the website and at check-in is confusing, and when I showed my inspiration photo up front, no one quoted me. The tech told me the price, $155, only after she had already started the design. I got it down to $115 by dropping the star flakes, which were $40 on their own. I want to pay techs fairly for their work, but $40 for star flakes isn't worth it. To be fair, there were genuine positives. I called to let them know I was running 10 minutes late and the staff were completely understanding about it. And when I asked for a swirl cat eye design, my tech told me upfront that it was above her skill level rather than overpromising. She still gave it a shot, and I really appreciated that honesty. Overall, I can't recommend this place. The quality of work and service don't match the price, and what frustrates me more is that the staff didn't listen to my questions and were quick to shut me down instead of working with me. Given the reviews here, I'll assume this isn't the standard, and that it's fixable.
