This rating is exclusively for an oil change, & the hood customer service from Jason, the new owner of this 3 generation family business. I cannot speak to any other services that Mac's provides, but I did just find out they provide them all! From Groupon i found that Mac's had a deal for oil changes and because I have been spoofed recently I called before purchasing to confirm. Yes indeed they do and yes I did. I made an appointment, came in and although they were short a tech they got me in and out as soon as possible. My car took a little bit more oil than a standard so I had to pay a whopping five dollars extra, not a problem. One thing I appreciate it they did not try to tell me anything was wrong with my car that I needed any or the services, which has been my experience at Manny other service providers around town. I had a break flush and valve gasket replaced. First time repair the gasket still leaked. Second attempt it still leaked and my engine started hissing. Even showed the owner. Third time was told my valve cover was cracked (either they missed this during both repairs or cracked it themselves!) well they used another cars valve cover and now it still leaks, loses oil pressure, and cracked my negative battery terminal. They also mentioned in a diagnose my brake fluid needed changed. Something i had already had done a month prior that apparently didn't even happen. The manager said we have to "drop my car". I paid to not only get the problem not fixed but now my car isn't drivable, the shop won't even fix it, refund or anything. Will be taking it to another shop, proving damages and lack of work, taking it to consumer rights commissions and small claims. Absolutely unbelievable. read more

I did have a spell taking the Subaru to the dealership after making a poor choice and committing to a service contract (which cost me about $300 for an oil change!) but it's back to Mac's who've always given me excellent service at fair prices and speedily. Do not waste your time and money Took my vehicle in since the air conditioner wasn't blowing Cold air which I expressed to the owner. My understanding is that they needed to inspect and find the issue ? Apparently they didn't and assume all it needed was Freon. They added the AC Freon and charged me over $200. Bucks Took my vehicle home ran my AC - nothing air wasn't blowing cold ... called the shop I was told to take the truck back in again. So now they are telling me that it might need a new AC compressor. ( why not inspect and see what was the issue was before assuming all it needed Freon.) I asked if they would refund my money since they didn't fix the issue. & they said no since they had clean it and added the Freon. Got my AC fixed at A different shop. read more

We brought a 2007 RAV4 into the shop because We thought it needed rotors, calipers, hoses and pads. At that time I asked them if they could test drive it and see if that's actually what it needed. I was told I only needed rotors and pads and decided I could do that myself. I was never told how much it would cost to inspect it and was charged $120. $40-60 might be reasonable but not over $100 for no work done. Not that big of a deal but maybe just a heads up they don't communicate well on the inspection cost in the beginning. Other than that the customer service was good and they seemed competent and knowledgeable. read more

I'm always on high alert to ensure I'm not taken advantage of at a car repair shop (I've had plenty of experiences at other places where they give me a long list of repairs that, upon getting a second opinion, are completely unnecessary). Mac's was friendly, quick, professional, and straightforward. These are honest folks. They took care of an oil change and when I asked them to replace a broken part on my dash, they explained how I could get the part cheaply on ebay and replace it myself. I was so appreciative. DO NOT come here. I brought in my volkswagen to have my heater core worked on and they originally told me it needed a part replaced and after 2 weeks of having it told me the entire heater core needed to be replaced which was clearly due to the fact that they broke it while trying to repair it. After 3 weeks of them having my car I insisted on getting it back because they clearly didn't know what they were doing and they proceeded to not put it back together and continue to try and repair it with glue which didn't help. I finally got my car back and not only was the heat on the broken side not fixed, the entire heating system was broken throughout the car and they still charged me over $600.00 to break my entire heater and leave me without a car for 3 weeks. I now have taken it into the volkswagen dealership where the mechanic informed me the person working on my car broke several things and caused a great deal of more problems than i originally started with. Horrible people and horrible customer service. They are scammers and will further damage your car. read more

I actually had a really terrible experience here. Everything was okay at first, but I got my oil change on wednesday and didn't drive much until friday. Then, going on a long trip to a friend's wedding, my engine overheating light flashed on while I was on the highway, following with my check engine/vsc/trac off lights. Looking into my car, radiator fluid was EVERYWHERE. Luckily, I know a bit about cars and noticed the reservoir was full, but the pipes were dry. Some coolant later, and my car was okay. This was all due to someone not closing the radiator fluid cap all the way, so the glue in it melted, and fluid spilled everywhere/the pressure was not sufficient for the coolant to leave the reservoir. I had to buy a new cap, funnel, fluid, and totally missed the wedding, not to mention the strain it put on my engine, the hours it wasted, and the future problems it may cause. read more

I am really conflicted! Good service and they helped me out when I was traveling through town. However they charged me 4 hrs labor to replace a radiator + thermostat and they actually spent 1hr and 15 minutes. I watched them and know exactly how long they worked on it. No they are not just fast... an hour is about they time it takes me...an non-mechanic to do this, which I would have done if I wasn't "on the road". read more

Took a long shot with these guys for what I thought was a crack in my radiator, wasn't that at all but they were able to diagnose it and give it back to me running better than ever on two separate occasions now. Here's a shout-out to the guys at Mac's! You're the best! Our AC tanked outside of Eugene while on vacation. We live in the desert and were returning home at the time. Oh CRAP... We knew we were in a jam in terms of driving comfort, and we didn't know what shop to choose to fix the darn thing so we could get back home. It was serious stress at this point... Office Manager is friendly. However the curbside appeal and customer service did not meet my expectations. Original inspection showed the system had stop leak in it. The team was unable to evacuate the system so I had that done somewhere else and came back for repairs after I installed a new condenser and expansion valve. When I returned to have the system rechecked to diagnose the original problem prior to the stop leak the system was evacuated and a basic service for testing leaks, oils, pressures, and fluid levels was done and it was found to be in proper working order. It was not test driven to check for the original issue of blowing warmer as you took off and colder as you slowed down. Shortly after I drove away I had the same issue but at a very small level. I decided to let it run its course for about a week to determine if there was an issue or not. There was, so I called to have it looked at again and was pushed out a few weeks. all in all this has not been a good experience and I have had very inconsistent air conditioning for over a month now and after spending almost 300.00 I have the same issue with no understanding of what it is or what can be done. read more
