Well, now i CAN tell you how many ways you can screw up a simple grilled cheese sandwich w/ bacon. 1) no butter on the outside (i said grilled not toasted) 2) one slice of tasteless cheese 3) couldn't even find the mayo asked for inside 4) 2 wispy thin strips of bacon 5) whole sandwich, on cold, dry toast , by the time it reached me 6) a meager handful of chips. 7) cole slaw that couldn't decide between am i a salad or a cole slaw. I think even a child would have sent it back. I've been dis-pleased with this place the last 2 times I 'e been there. Had delicious vegan options! We had both the falafel wraps (substitute hummus for tzatziki to make vegan) and the hummus wrap, and both were really solid and delicious. Has a few tables for sitting inside. We went before the vacation season really started, so I expect this gets pretty crowded at lunch. But easy to order to-to if no seats. Can buy wind from the nearby Chatham Vineyards, which is delicious. And coffee from a local roaster, which we weren't a huge fan of. Fun unique candy options. I stopped here on my way back home from visiting my son in Virginia. I have a gluten sensitivity. So I was excited to know that they had gluten free wraps and Breads and bagels. So I got the chicken salad wrap. It was absolutely delicious I love the bacon on it and it was grilled. I have been there before to have a espresso. So I got two shots of espresso over ice to go along with my sandwich. It was a generous portion and very fresh and the presentation was really nice. This is probably the best little sandwich shop on the shore. It's quaint, mom n' pop atmosphere is nice, but the food quality and selection is where it's at! I am sad to report that MTC did not live up to my expectations yesterday. The High Mud was good but the veggie panini was terrible. Mushrooms were definitely old and past there prime. Almost no pesto or red peppers to be found. I hope having 2 places does not mean quality at old reliable goes down. Plus they were selling "short-dated" product with a May expiration date. We stopped in for a late lunch and ordered the roast beef sandwich special to split, two honest teas, and waited just a few minutes in the sweet country dining area.
