Stop for lunch. Had the gyro and it was a skimpy but flavorful wrap. Service was good. The place looks very worn out and old. Time for a face-lift for this spot. Very much like a diner vibe with good food, just not hardy. My gyro came with cold slaw or soup. I opted for the slaw. But heard that they have really good soup. Slaw was just ok.

I was here a couple weeks ago with my husband and in laws. Definitely an upscale diner feel to the restaurant and pretty busy but we were still able to get a table fairly quickly. Also they have area for counter seating which is cool since most restaurants don't really have that any more. My husband ordered the banana nut waffle and a side of bacon. which he really enjoyed. I ordered the florentine omelette, cooked just rio, I probably could have asked for my hash browns to be a little more well done. I am pretty picky with hollandaise sauce so I did try a side of it. The hollandaise was very good and was an excellent addition to my omelette. Service was good overall.

Corn beef omelette with light onions, spinach, hash browns and rye toast. And a mimosa. Mimosa was alright.

I rated 3.5/5. Food was good. Omelette was great and hash browns was okay. Service was great. It was clean inside the restaurant.

Mack Grille Special $10.95, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, ham, hash browns and rye toast

First time visit late Monday morning. Place half full. Ordered the Mack Grille special: 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 1 slice ham grilled, hash browns, rye toast $10.95. Huge servings for a very reasonably priced menu item. Bacon was really crispy. Ham and sausage links are good. Disappointed that my requested well-done hash browns were served barely fried. What was the unexpected delight, was the rye toast. It was toasted to perfection, crispy outside and tender inside, lightly buttered. Coffee was good. Nice they leave a carafe at the table to self-served refills.

Found this place by complete accident. But it worked out because we had an hour to kill whole waiting for the bank to finish a transfer. My chicken club had a crazy small piece of chicken ‍ but it was ok. The soup was decent as well. I'm a little surprised fries didn't come with my order though.

This is my mother's favorite spot to go to when I am in Grosse Pointe. The food feels so cozy and home-cooked. It would be the food I would expect from my mother, if she could cook, ergh. I always get the same dish here and it's a chicken fajita salad. The grilled chicken is marinated and delicious on top of the butter lettuce. And this awesome tomato vinaigrette dressing that is outstanding. I've tried other dishes here, more of the comfort foods, but I always go back to the same chicken fajita salad. This is my go to and favorite thing here. Even when it was Mack Avenue, back in the day. This place always feels like home to me.

We had a great club sandwich, again. Also the lemon rice soup was just right. Everything is homemade, not processed turkey on the club.

Since I'm on this side of town dog sitting, I finally said I'm going here and did the drive in this cold weather. Walking in, it's smaller here than I anticipated. Limited seating and parking, FYI. Not good for large groups since there was literally only one table in the corner for maybe a party of four. More of a two person place to grab a quick bite. The menu is good with tons of options and lots of drinks. I wasn't feeling the booze so I stuck with Sprite and water. My server was friendly and attentive and checked in on me regularly. I got two of the regular sliders with a side of cheesy fries. Everything's ala carte here, so be prepared to spend a little more than normal. Food was great, and I really enjoyed myself here. The trick is to come here when it's not busy so you can dine in. I'm sure during the summer they may have outdoor seating, but since it's the dead of winter, not so much. Overall a great experience. After tip, my bill was $25 for two sliders, pop and cheesy fries. I'm glad I got to visit here and would recommend it to others. Love the menu selection of food.

Perfect timing, sat at the bar, yummy sliders and I looked enviously at my husband's wine (alas, I had to go back to work and he was off!). We were celebrating a birthday, so we decided to pull out all the stops -- and I'm really glad we did. I'll say right up front that the prices are a little higher than what I would normally spend on a meal, but honestly, it was absolutely worth it. They started us off with garlic bread that was incredibly delicious, and from there the experience only got better. Our server, Andrew, was fantastic. He mentioned that they might have been a little short-handed and apologized that he felt he couldn't be as attentive as he normally would be, but honestly, we never would have known. He did an excellent job keeping our water glasses full and making sure we were taken care of throughout the evening. At our table, we ordered the Chicken al Pastaio, Spaghetti Carbonara, Gnocchi Romana, and I had the Chicken Parmigiano. Every dish was excellent. I sampled a few bites from the other plates and genuinely enjoyed all of them. The real highlight for me, though, was the Beggar's Purse appetizer. It was pasta filled with goat cheese and pear, and it was absolutely divine. I can completely understand why they also offer it as a main course because I could have happily eaten an entire plate of it. For dessert, we shared cheesecake and tiramisu. The cheesecake was more traditional than what you'd typically get at places like The Cheesecake Factory, which caught me a little off guard at first, but it was still excellent. The tiramisu was also delicious, and we all got a good laugh when one of our guests accidentally inhaled a little cocoa powder off the top and started coughing and sneezing at the table. It honestly just added to the fun of the evening. At the end of the night, nothing we ordered disappointed, the service was wonderful, and it turned out to be a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We'll definitely be back.
