We went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't that busy, maybe a handful of tables for lunch. It was very nice inside but decided to sit outside since it was a sunny day. Our waitress was very friendly and brought our drinks out quickly. The menu had some tempting choices but we decided to get 3 appetizers: spinach artichoke dip, buffalo cauliflower, and truffle fries. The spinach artichoke dip was a bit different than what I expected, but it had good flavor. It seemed like it was a queso spinach artichoke dip but I wasn't complaining. Not my favorite, but good. The buffalo cauliflower was a disaster. It had a ton of oil and you could see it swimming in the dish it was served in. It was so oily that it absorbed into the cauliflower and completely ruined it. It's a shame because I love buffalo cauliflower and was looking forward to this dish. The truffle fries were the best thing we ate. The fries were nice and crispy and the scent and taste of the truffle was nice. I was skeptical about the balsamic vinegar drizzle but it added another depth of flavor to the fries. Overall we weren't impressed by the appetizers we selected, but may be back and get an actual entree. The place has a ton of potential and I hope the next time we visit will be better. read more

This was our first time there and we were pleasantly surprised! The food was good (hubby had the philly steak and I had the shrimp tacos). The waitress was great, the food came to the table in great time. My only reason for not clicking that 5th star is because we ordered the spinach artichoke dip, and there were red peppers in it (no mention of it on the menu). read more

Glasses are absolutely filthy, more stains then i have ever seen as if they did not wash them . Hostesses constantly on their phones and not checking with waiting customer to make sure they have been taken care of and or need anything while waiting. Bartenders were MIA and did not check in with customers other then their regulars. Bartender made comment to customer about not wanting what they ordered (Drink) and should order a glass because they poor heavy and get 3x the amount normally. This is a very good place to stop in for a casual meal. The food is very good. The menu selection is broad and a little unusual from mainstream places. Service is friendly. They have some outdoor seating too. The only thing about this place that bothers me is, it is LOUD In there all the time. So, this isn't a place for a quiet, romantic dinner. Loved the buffalo cauliflower appetizer! Wife had steak tip skewer which was really good and I had the french dip which was excellent but I prefer to have the bun cut more traditionally instead of through the top which left the ends with nothing but bun. I suggested Mackle's to a friend for lunch. We were not disappointed. My friend & I had a lot of catching up to do and didn't want to be rushed. Our server, Emily, was attentive, but not pushy. We had the amazing Truffle fries as an appetizer & they rocked! My friend had Eevie's salad and I had the Reuben sandwich. Her salad was large, fresh and delightful. My sandwich was grilled to perfection with a generous portion of corned beef. I brought home a to-go-order of their Brussel sprouts - they are to die for! The acoustics can be a little loud but if you sit in one of their beautiful booths, you can carry on a conversation. Cons: Each item on the menu seems to be priced about $3-$5 higher than what you'd expect at similar restaurants. Food doesn't really justify price point. Staff is pretty hit or miss. We really wanted to like this place and had high hopes after reading such great reviews but it's just not there. For food that is a tier above Applebee's they should fix their price point to stay competitive. Also, after being so enthusiastically greeted by the owner the rest of the staff's overall attitude was a bit of a let down. Thank you for having curb-side pickup during COVID. We're a fan of their chicken tenders and super slaw (kale, red cabbage, red onion, dried cherries and some other stuff). I have tried to recreate it, but haven't found the perfect ingredients yet. *update. I still love this place but strongly feel that a steak dinner should come with two sides. There also needs to be more side choices and more main coarse choices on the menu. Our service was phenomenal. We had our 3 kids with us and the environment was good for them. We sat outside. I had the east coast crab cakes which were flavorful with sweet potato fries. The fries came with a sweet dipping sauce that made them almost dessert-like. I also ordered the brussel sprouts and they were delicious. 10/10 for food and service read more

Not terribly impressed by this place. Dishes had funk on them, the macaroni and cheese (as a side) was COLD, my dad's salmon was under cooked. My ahi tuna tasted very fishy and was served cold.. not a very good portion size either. My wife ordered the caprese salad (advertised as an appetizer) for dinner and I was surprised to see the stem/butt of the tomato on more than one of the slices. The one meal that looked good was my Mom's surf&turf. However after dinner we went to the movies, and on the way home we had to stop twice so my mom could have a restroom emergency! Our service was excellent!! The outside patio area was great. I'm glad we didn't have to eat inside the restaurant. It seems loud and awkwardly arranged. Ordered two appetizers and the grilled cheese....starters were of adequate portions and great tasting. Wife ordered the grilled cheese--Wow! what a pleasant twist on a classic....crazy tasty! Beer selection was good having IPAs to Porters. We came during a light lunch crowd. It was quiet with several TVs on to catch the sports.... 5 of 5 for the type of place it is. My daughter had been a couple times already and was pushing for me to try it. Cauliflower app and hot wings were solid. In fact, the wings were so good that I'll probably come back for them alone! I had the tips for dinner. They had a sweet sauce and I don't typically even like sweet, but this was very good! This place is great and easily beats out most of the other local joints for food. The Rueben is AWESOME! And we have always had great service. The manger is always helping out and checking on tables. She always asks how our meal was and even when they are busy we feel taken care of. Drinks are great and they have a great selection or wine and beers. Driven past here daily for years but never stopped. I did last night and was surprised. The restaurant is run by a former Stillwater chef and it shows. I had the steak tips and garlic mashed, they are nearly exact to Stillwater. The difference, seems to be priced more reasonably!Service was fast and very pleasant. Well, we were O'Malleys regulars and we're sad to see that they were sold. We've been to Mackie's twice now and have been disappointed both times. First visit we ordered the Spinach and Artichoke dip appetizer, Fish and Chips, and Philly Steak sandwich. The Spin dip had a strong Jalapeño flavor (no mention of jalapeño on the menu) which was very strange. The Fish was good, but only 2 small pieces. The Philly had a beer cheese on it which wasn't very good. Second visit we ordered a cheese burger and the chicken club. Both were extremely bland and small portions. The Chicken Club was on a perfect toast and the Tomato Basil Pesto was good, but the grilled chicken has absolutely no seasoning. Same with the burger patties. The wait staff is very nice but they seem very worried about how food tastes, so they must be getting negative feedback. I'm sure the steak tips are probably good based on the Stillwater connection and the rave reviews they got there. Unfortunately, I'm not sure we will find out. Bland flavor, portion size, and price are all negatives that will be hard to overcome. If they doubled their fish portion, it would be their shining star and reason to eat there, but nothing else has been worth ordering a second time. O'Malleys was better in every possible category. Prices we low, portions were big, and everything on the menu was great. read more

The food is good, service is good, ambiance is good if seated in a booth. The reason for three stars is that it is way too expensive for what it is. If the prices were more reasonable it definitely would be worthy of a higher rating. We don't eat here often though because of that reason. read more
