menu advertises fresh baked sub rolls, was 100% not a fresh baked sub roll. I could see the packages from the grocery store on the counter. Turned out to be this pale, doughy lump of a bread. the veggie sub doesn't come with any kind of condiment or anything it's just a ton of lettuce, 2 slices of tomato, and some black olives. the menu said provolone too but i didn't see or taste any. the fries were so soggy, limp and cold by the time we made the 3 minute drive home (definitely microwaved). it was basically like bad middle school cafeteria food, but less fresh read more

This place is phenomenal!! They have AMAZING lobster rolls for a great price. $12 in the off season and it comes on an amazing brioche bun. Great bang for you buck and the people who work here remembered us after just our first visit and are extremely friendly and accommodating. We happened upon this place while out touring the NH/ME countryside and because I was in the mood for seafood, we gave it a try. How could you not when the sign says "try our Colossal Lobster Roll". I did NOT try the lobster roll, but instead, opted for the baked scallops with crabmeat stuffing. While I would have loved a bit more of the stuffing, rather than just a few crumbs sprinkled across the top, the scallops were wonderful! My fiance had the baked haddock and that, too was really tasty - not dry at all. Service was fast and pleasant. We will definitely be visiting again! read more

Ate here the other night with my wife. I got the whole bellied fried clams and she got the lobster roll. The lobster roll looked very good and my wife said it was quite flavorful - not always the case according to her. My clams looked good, but were mostly crumb-batter and very very dry with not much flavor. The best part of my meal were the french fries. Handcut (I think) and very good. The food was pretty good and the lobster was great. The only turn-off was that the fries were cold. The bathroom was also dirty and poorly built. The licks did not operate very well and someone also almost walked in on me in the stall. I got the blazing lobster roll that was pretty tasty. The service was great and the server was attentive. When we complained about the fries, she gave use an apology and brought out piping hot fries. We also got fried pickles that were piping hot and were fair. Wicked good gyro! I have already had their famous burgers, lobster rolls, and gourmet pizzas, so today I decided to order outside the box and get the Greek at this seafood restaurant. What surprised me was the Flatbread itself. It was thick and fluffy, probably made from pizza dough, but cooked to the perfect balance of golden color but not crispy. My kids enjoyed the pizza and my wife loved the burger today. Very friendly service and a very comfortable sea themed environment. I highly recommend this place. read more

The good news: Service during lunchtime (we were the first people in the restaurant at noon, though several others followed during the next 45 minutes) was excellent. The waitress was personable and attentive - would give 5 stars if food didn't count. The bad news: The food. I ordered a lobster salad, price, $13.99, and a side of fries. The lobster was fresh and delicious, but the portion was on the stingy side. The rest of the "salad" was all iceburg lettuce, save for two thin slices of green pepper, one slice of cucumber, and two slices of tasteless tomato. A restaurant doesn't have to be gourmet to have gotten the word that a slab of iceburg lettuce does not make a salad, especially for the price. The french fries were crisp and tasty, but the oil was on the old side - not terrible, but not quite fresh. My wife ordered a chicken Caeser salad. The portion of chicken was too small for the price of the salad, and the parmesan cheese was obviously of the supermarket shaken container variety, not fresh grated. Bridgton has a number of long-standing local restaurants that serve decent, unfancy food, but always fresh with good ingredients and fair portions for the prices. Mack's Place has to do better if it hopes to join the ranks of the long-standing local eateries. read more

Was excited to try their lobster and steamers, and give a local business our business. It was awful. Clams were FROZEN before being steamed. They arrived, along with the lobster, OVERCOOKED. It was served with some kind of 'processed butter'. It took 45 minutes. The waitress was not attentive. My husband asked for a refill of soda. She never got it. She never came over to us and told us it was going to be a long wait. There were a bunch of young people behind the counter laughing and having fun. I guess they were wait staff, too. No one else was in the restaurant but us. I hope they make it. They are not very professional, and they will have to get much better vendors for their lobster and steamer. And get real butter! I will try it one more time (try their pizza), but that's all. I do want them to succeed, but they will have to become much more professional. read more

Have been there many times and the food was superb!! Exceptional! Not today. Very disappointed. We ordered steamed clams and got mussels. Then it took a very long time. When they finally arrived, he did not bring any clam broth, that you soak and clean your clams in. I asked him and he brought hot water! Seriously! Came for lunch with my family and the first thing I noticed was how dirty the floor was. It honestly looked like it had not been mopped for quite sometime. The seafood chowder on special was basically milk and potatoes. Their was no seafood in it at all and the tomato bisque was basically thick pizza sauce. The Vegetable Pizza and meat calzone was good but very surprised it costs .59 for dipping sauce. I understand charging for extra but not the first serving. Our waitress was very nice.
