So disappointed with my service and I only went here because it was Apple authorized. I brought in my laptop because the display wasn't working and was staying black. They took it to the back and basically told me my display is shot and I'm going to have to get it replaced for $580. I was very upset, so today I went to the Apple store to have a second opinion. After the employee took my computer to the back he discovered there had been a piece of tape put around a chord not letting the display work. That tape was put there by Mac media employees to ensure I buy a new display from them. After speaking with the Apple employee he informed me they charge $475 for a new display, but thankfully I didn't need to purchase because my computer was FINE! An easy fix, don't go to this place it is fraud just trying to take advantage of people and their money *SIDE NOTE: my computer is working perfectly after visiting the Apple store they were easily able to fix my computer. So obviously your employees don't know what they're doing. Just not acceptable read more

I had an appt at 4pm and they took some rich kids who came in after me and then told me they couldn't fix my phone today and I'd be without a phone until the following day. We had all my stuff printed up and ready to go beforehand to which they told me it would only take an hour or two and I'd have it back today until they came in. A class act. My iPhone battery wasn't holding a charge for more than a few hours and the thought of buying a new phone loomed large as a big expense I couldn't really indulge in. So I brought it here to get the battery replaced, et voila. It's not that other places can't do it, it's that here it is a calm oasis of friendly (but not over-friendly) professionals who are taking care of your issue within seconds of you walking in the door. Which I should probably keep to myself..... Kudos to Tristan who today put my gadget guard cover (That I brought in with me) on my phone and had me out the door within three minutes...no charge. The team at Mac Media is world class. I brought my MacBook Air in 20 minutes after accidentally flooding the keyboard with 10 ounces of iced tea. I don't know how they did it but they not only brought it back to life, but they optimized it. It's working like new --- better than new. This is truly one of the finest businesses I have encountered since moving to Arizona in 2004. My iPad Pro had digitizer issues for over 18 months. It is only two years old and in perfect condition. I should have done something earlier but it became unusable two weeks ago. After the Apple store blew me off, I went to Mac Media in Scottsdale. Quite a drive. They tested it and told me the issue, stated repair was not possible, and a swap would cost $600. However they told me to contact Apple Care before spending the money. Well they were right. These folks are sadly not competent to correctly diagnose issues and I can't recommend MacMedia. Came here a few days ago after my iPhone 6 refused to turn on. The guy who helped me took my phone to the back for a few minutes and then came back to tell me that the issue was battery failure and they could replace it for me for $150. Unfortunately he said they didn't have the batteries in stock and it would take 4 business days to have my phone up and running again. And I'd need to leave my phone there. I really wanted to check with an official Apple retail store rather than wait so I declined, called Apple and confirmed the location at Scottsdale Quarter had iPhone 6 batteries in stock. I made an appointment the next day. Imagine my surprise to get to Apple the next day, have the technician plug in my phone and tell me that NO, it's not the battery. The phone itself is dead and cannot be fixed. I had to end up getting a new iPhone. I can't even tell you how pissed I would have been to pay $150 and wait 4 freaking business days for MacMedia to replace my battery only to have it NOT revive my phone. That is not at all acceptable and there's no excuse for the lack of competence. I do not recommend MacMedia if you have issues that need correctly diagnosed and repaired. read more

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Experience. Do yourself a favor and go directly to Apple. I repeat. Do yourself favor and work directly with APPLE. These guys are just middlemen who make the process much harder. Especially if you need a device replacement. Especially if you have Apple Care. These guys are pure 100% frauds. I went into get my screen repaired. The guy told me a couple hours it should be ready. I go back and they tell me there's liquid damage and it has to be sent to Apple to be replaced. They told me a new phone should arrive in a couple days for me to pick up. Well it's been 2 weeks and I still haven't gotten a new phone. The manager (I think his name was Josh) he could care less. I haven't been able to work from home properly without a phone. My business and finances have been affected and these guys don't give a single F. None whatsoever. These guys are just middle men that make the process much longer and more difficult. They don't know how to communicate directly with Apple either. I had to call Apple to call them to finally fix the issue. And now I'm being told it'll take another 3/5 days. So I pretty much will go 3 weeks without a phone. If you can afford to go weeks without your phone, and you love terrible service where they take 0 responsibility for THEIR mistake.... then this is your place. read more

Wonderful service. I brought in my iPhone with a simple issue: the lightning port was dirty which can cause charging issues. They cleaned it but refused to charge me for it. These guys are pros, you know your computer is sick when it's an apple and it stops working! I was having a keychain issue that stopped my computer from working. 1.5 days later it was good as new and fast as ever. Staff was friendly and brilliant young people. The only reasons I did not give 5/5 stars is because their resale prices are too high on macs as you can get any old Mac on Craigslist significantly cheaper and after being wiped clean will work just as good as there's. Second reason is because they installed software called malware bites that I didn't authorize. If your like me you have no idea how to remove stuff like that and after my 30 trial ended it still has never detected one threat and prompts me to pay to renew. If they asked I would have said no thx. Still an amazing experience. Didn't lose any data. Mac works after going there. Would go again. read more

Really easy to get my iPhone screen fixed. Did a walk-in appointment, took less than 10 minutes to go through everything, including coordinating everything with AppleCare. I've visited this store pre-Covid, and got great service. Today, my Macbook finally needed hospice care, little hope of recovery. Sam and nice his long-haired colleague were more than helpful about the new M1's, but also patiently offered me every reasonable alternative in refurbished machines or trying to drag more life out of my battered 2015 Pro. While struggling to comprehend how much I'd need to spend to get the latest Macbook, my son offered me an old Macbook Air to tide me over, but his drive wasn't big enough to hold my data, so Sam just took my drive out of my Macbook Pro carcass and transplanted it into my borrowed Air. Voila, quickest fix, so reasonable, so helpful. When I gather my pennies for the upgrade, for sure going to buy from these guys. Plus they were nice to my dog. And, no shaming me for the grime I seem to accumulate on and in the poor thing. One of those really good human to human experiences and technical common sense too. read more

The other morning I woke up and my iPhone 11 would not power on! I became aware of MacMedia after finding out all the Apple store have closed down and this local business is still open taking on all their traffic. I first called in and spoke with John E. Not only was he very professional over the phone but he provided me with a quick solution to be seen and serviced. I was able to come in to the store, drop my phone off and return to a working phone. I will be back to MacMedia in the future to hopefully buy a new Apple product after also learning they sell the new stuff same price as Apple with the same warranties. I replaced an old battery with a new battery on a MacBook Air 13' (early 2015) model. I did the replacement myself. When I started up the computer after the battery replacement, the Trackpad wasn't working. I took the computer into MacMedia and they quickly diagnosed/fixed the problem. It was a simple fix and they didn't charge me anything. They were very professional and accomodating. I recommend them highly! read more

Came in to have them troubleshoot an issue with my MacBook Air. After a few seconds the guy behind the counter told me that the computer would not boot up, and that it would cost $200 dollars to open up and clean it out with no guarantee that it would work. This was much to my surprise as I was just using the computer an hour ago... I came home, charged it and what do you know! It wasn't booting up because I hadn't realized the battery died en route to the store. Glad I didn't waste my money on their no guarantee cleaning.. it's unfortunate that I got nothing out of this trip besides mild panic. read more

I came in today to see if the lens on my iPhone 11 could be repaired. Aaron helped me realize that I had AppleCare+ available so that the repair would be covered. I had no idea I had been paying for it. They could have taken advantage of me and charged a larger fee but this goes to show that they are honest and reputable. The turn around time for the fix was going to be 7 days but after T-Mobile made activating a loaner phone a nightmare both Aaron and Josh worked it out so that they could expedite the service and still allow me to keep my phone while we waited for a replacement. They could have let me run back and forth to the T-mobile store but they saw a problem and found a solution. Not many stores will do that anymore. You won't find grouchy technicians here, helpful happy employees who are ready to help. I won't be back to the crowded Apple store thanks to MacMedia. read more

I'm never going to the Apple store again. These guys are incredible! I brought in my 2017 MacBook Pro for a strange issue with the speakers. The technician up front ran some diagnostics, and then asked "Have you been having any issues with your keyboard?" Not that I had noticed, because I use an external keyboard. That being said, he noticed something was off with my keyboard and recommend having Apple replace it considering it's a known issue. Thank god for warranty! I was quoted 7-10 business days for the repair to take place. I had the computer back in my hands in THREE business days. No hassle, no waiting... Extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. My MacBook pro would charge, battery went dead in the middle of an update. The tech said you computer is probably corrupted now, you need to back up your computer, we can do that for ($200), if we cant get your computer working we'll have to wipe it out and start from scratch. Leave here for $95 diagnostic fee and whatever it costs to fix. I took it home typed "MacBook won't charge" in YouTube, found a fix that took less than 5 minutes, update finished, computer is running and all charged up. Considering how easy the fix was I find it hard to believe that they didn't know about this. Instead they wanted to try and fleece me out of hundreds of dollars to do what I did at home. I would've been more impressed if they had done that charged me $20 bucks for 5 minutes of work. At that time I didn't know about the fix.....so this review would've been me praising how awesome they are and telling all my friends about it. Not anymore. read more

My phone was not charging properly. MacMedia fixed the problem for free, ran a diagnostic to check the rest of the phone function and had me going again in just a few minutes. MacMedia is a gem in Scottsdale. It is well kept and has everything you need, from products to services. My computer screen was slightly cracked but made it unusable, and upon quoting me the $750 price to fix it, they informed me of a loophole I would have never known about, and I was able to get it fixed for free. The company I had worked for for 4 years just went under days prior and I was a mess thinking of how to come up with $750 for the repair. I'm so thankful for their staff and for helping us out in such a substantial way. They were warm, kind, and super fast. I had my computer with a brand new screen and back shell within a couple days.
