Glenn quickly had his team inspect my computer and before I knew they fixed the problem. These guys are top notch and much more convenient than the Apple store. My Mac was not starting up and we were attempting to drop it off for repair. We first went to the Apple Genius and they said my cord worked on other computers there, so it must be something else. The tech at Mac Media tried a new cord anyway and my computer started right up. They could have just let us drop it off for diagnostic check up fee, but decided to check with a new cord. Terrible customer service over the phone, and this was after the fact of their mess up. Still waiting to hear back from them. I had a cracked screen and Apple outsources that now, which landed me at MacMedia. Very professional, replaced my screen in about 2 hours. They even found that my battery was underperforming and replaced that as well (free through Apple Care). The only feedback I have is how they handle the line. It seems like there's no point in making an appointment since you still have to wait in the long line. There should be a way to check in, then someone to keep track of getting folks with appointments in the right order. Great service, I first showed up here after going to Data Doctors to get a key fixed on my Mac book, they wanted me to leave it for a week and would email me an estimate. Frustrated I show up here with low expectations; They look at the Mac book. Said wait where and came back in 5 minutes fixed no charge he said it was a simple fix and no charge. I actually had two issues. One was just something I asked Aaron to do to my iPad that I could have done myself, but not as well. He was friendly, respectful, and professional. And he did it at no charge. Cool. The other issue happened the next day when my MacBook wouldn't start. I went back MacMedia, computer in hand, fully expecting to hear that I'd need a new computer. Or need to spend hundreds of dollars for repairs. It was Aaron's (well earned) day off, so this time Jacob helped me. The problem was not obvious, and he took a very methodical approach to solving the issue. The first solution didn't solve the whole problem, but the second one has worked beautifully. And all of it was at almost no cost. I like that they don't look for ways to charge. They look for ways to help. I've trusted them for years, and continue to trust them to find the quickest, easiest, least expensive, and most effective to way to solve my computing issues. My experience with MacMedia Scottsdale was my first - and I was skeptical since it wasn't actually Apple. Given the problem with my Mac, I wanted to see an Apple Genius in person, not use phone support. Due to COVID-19 I couldn't get an appointment at an Apple store, so Apple support got me next-day appointment with MacMedia. They were beyond awesome. During my resolution, I engaged with 3 techs and ALL were friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, efficient. My problem was resolved before estimated completion time, and I had NO issues. Amazing. I came in for a battery replacement for my 13 inch Macbook Pro, and they told me it would cost $500. In addition, they wanted to charge me a $95 "diagnostic fee" (which doesn't make sense because I already knew the battery needed to be replaced.) I later called Apple and gave them my serial number- they told me they would do it for $129. My advice is to be careful not to overpay when going here. Update: I just wanted to clarify that I came into the Scottsdale MacMedia store, in person, and got this information from Jacob. He informed me that Apple would also charge me $500 to replace the battery. But as per the link below from Tristan, since my 13 inch Macbook Pro does not have Retina display, it would only be $129 to replace it. read more

My wife dropped her MacBook Pro and the screen cracked, it sucked and came at a rough time. We were given a very high quote for the screen replacement, but Steve at MacMedia found a cool workaround and saved us hundreds of dollars. I stopped in for a screen repair for my iPhone 8 Plus. The Apple store was impossible to get an appointment in. I called to make sure I didn't need an appointment. They said just to stop in. Since I had apple care I only paid $30 for the screen repair. It's the same prices that they charge at Apple. With apple care of with or without it. It seemed like the repair was only going to take 30 minutes! Unfortunately, my phone didn't pass the last test because of vibration. So they had to put another screen on it. I had to leave my phone and come back after class. So it took them a few hours. Screen works great. I haven't had any issues. read more

MacMedia is beyond wonderful! I woke up one morning this past weekend to the horrifying experience of a blank desktop upon powering up my MacBook Pro. When I went to the Cloud to look for the Desktop - nothing. I thought I had backed up conscientiously every day. My whole life is on this computer. Calling Apple support is exhausting. During COVID, calling Apple is infuriating. I carefully searched the Internet for the company with the best reviews for Scottsdale/Phoenix at home service for researching problems and rescuing Apple users who are in trouble. This took at least an hour of digging and reading ALL the reviews. MacMedia came out on top. I called Aaron and discussed my issues with him in detail. He listened patiently. Took his time. Gave me some good advice. Scheduled a patient, thorough, really smart tech to come to my house today. ERIK KILTON IS CALM, COMPETENT, THOROUGH. He found some malware on my system, and he restored my files. He did find my backups on the Cloud. He did discuss with me how to better organize my files. He did teach me how to clean off the detritus on my system. He taught me how to do the safety double precaution of also backing up 100% of the time to a 2TB external disk that I had lying around the house but never used. He also, at my request, helped me configure a new MacBook Pro to replace the 8+ year old laptop that I have at the lowest cost. I would give MacMedia 10 stars if possible. read more

While we couldn't get it fixed today (not because of them, but because of my travel), I have a crystal clear understanding of what needs to be done thanks to his thorough explanation. I took the liberty of asking a few questions above and beyond what I came in for and both he and Sierra took lots of time to make sure they understood my questions and offered easy, common sensical answers/solutions. I bought a MacBook Pro 15 inch 2 years ago from an Apple store and have relied on it daily for my home office use. About 10 days ago I noticed some pixels in my screen were going out and my screen was getting black lines through it. 5 days ago my screen went completely black so I took it to Apple to get a quote for a hardware screen replacement. After waiting two hours to finally see someone at the Genius Bar they said they could ship it out to the Apple repair center in Houston for a flat rate $800, and honestly I was OK with that. Only problem I had with that was in California at the time and was flying home to Arizona the next day. When I got to Arizona I looked up an Apple store and noticed that MacMedia was down the street and they handle repairs too, so I made an appointment and walked in. Their staff is so friendly, answered all of my questions, and gave me the same quote for an $800 screen repair fix, so I just left it with them and they said they'd fix it within 3-4 days, as opposed to sending it to Houston to get repaired which would take 7-10 business days. Here's why MacMedia is getting 5 stars from me, and I'd give them more if I could, after TWO days my laptop was fixed and I had a brand new screen, but WAIT it get's even better. I showed up after two days expecting to pay the $800, but when I got there the guy up front said "Our tech repaired your laptop and didn't charge you, so yeah heres your laptop, no charge." I was SHOCKED, and said "Wait, what do you mean?" and then he said, "Apple is offering a program right now to replace all MacBook screens purchased within the last 4 years for free and we decided to replace it for free, so enjoy your laptop! WHAT!?! BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER, literally paid NOTHING to get a brand new screen, they didn't charge me for labor, and they got my laptop back to me EARLY! This is the BEST computer business I've ever been to and they deserve 10 stars let alone 5, I will never go anywhere else to get my Mac fixed or worked on. I'm gonna go back soon to buy some accessories I need and drop off some gift cards for the staff because they are legit. We had Erik Kilton come to our home for a consultation regarding a 2012 MacBook Pro that we were having issues with. He wore protective gear and was very nice and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the MacBook Pro. He determined that the issues we were having were a result of a failing motherboard. After some discussion about our computer needs, we decided buying a new MacBook Air, which is considerably less expensive than the Maxbook Pro would be completely sufficient for our needs. My iPhone screen decided to stop working late Monday night. Apple stores across the valley didn't have appointments available when I could've gone, but MacMedia had 9am the next morning. I walked in, they replaced my screen that morning within two hours, and all was well with the world. But the story continues... my phone had an issue beyond the screen, and still had issues the following day. New iPhone under warranty. Returning Wednesday without an appointment, they gave me a loaner phone and ordered me a brand new phone for warranty replacement. Today is Thursday, and I'm typing on a brand new replacement phone, and they even put a screen protector on it for me! Locally owned, down to earth, quick and easy. No hassle of apple store hundreds of people everywhere and "oh lemme check you in and tell you to stand over there for 10 minutes so the next employee can talk to you". In my 3 trips I maybe spent a combined 17 minutes at MacMedia. I will go to them with all of my iPhone and Mac needs in the future. read more

Once my computer/iPad/iPhone is set up - if something changes, I'm lost! Once I found MACMEDIA I no longer feared this situation! They have "fixed" things for me that the Help Desk at Apple said they couldn't do. They are always willing and often - when something takes just a minute or two to fix - don't charge me.
