This is an amazing place, and certainly a huge score for Doral. This coffee house, if the name Macondo didn't give it away, specializes in Colombian beans, more specifically, coffee beans from small growers in the region of Antioquia, Colombia. I was lucky enough to stop by when one of their roasters was present. He happened to be helping behind the counter, and he was the one that came to help me. Coincidence? Absolutely. He informed me of where the coffee was coming from, how it was made, the types of beans, the nuances of the roasts, the provenance, etc. Listening to him actually got me excited about this whole new Macondo world that was taking shape here in Doral, and many questions started brewing in my head. "Good Colombian coffee? In Miami? Is this possible? Like real good coffee, not the one dimensional supermarket brand?" I was dying to taste this. My eyes were moving at a hundred miles per hour, and I was reciting my coffee mantra silently (you can use it too when you are looking for good coffee). It goes as follows, *The keys to good coffee are 1) Coffee has description (nuances like caramel, molasses, pears, bold, bright, etc), 2) Coffee is ground in front of you, and 3) Coffee is brewed paying attention to water temperature and coffee ratios*. If my mantra matches what the coffee house is doing, then I know there's good coffee on the premises. It all boils down to whether I like it or not. By the way, that is exactly what they do here. Drinking coffee at Macondo is a real pleasure for me. I used to hate coffee, true story, but then I started buying better whole beans, grinding at home, and dripping carefully. Today, I am a coffee snob. I would rather not drink coffee than to have a lame cup of Joe. I don't compromise. If you know me personally, you know I don't mess around and that I am one with my taste buds. OM. Anyway, back to Macondo. This is a very spacious coffee house, with lots of tables that lean on the rustic side of things. There are booths that go around and a couple of couches that are extremely comfortable. The playlist is heavy on 80's retro, not cumbias or vallenato. Overall, this is a pretty chill place to come and relax. Macondo serves regular drip coffee, french press, aero press, as well as espresso drinks and cold brew coffee. They also have some snacks here, as well as pizza and ice cream. The food is pretty good and straightforward. And yet, we are not done with Macondo. This place also has live music, you have to check their schedule for that, and I recently saw they hosted a few writers to come talk about their books. With this in mind, what else can you ask? Coffee, food, art and culture, Macondo is a real community on it's way to becoming a heavy hitter in this neck of the woods. If Macondo would offer more types of beans, instead of light, medium and dark, I would for sure give them the full amount of stars. It is an excellent coffee shop without a doubt, but they just fall a tiny bit short of the best . Still, I love this place and I see lots of success in the Magic City. Oh! I almost forgot. The coffee here is very bright, and depending on the roast, it may punch you in the mouth, or tease you. It is an incredibly good cup of coffee, and you will absolutely love coming here. read more

This place is great. Great coffee and food. The Latin cast of FRIENDS would hang out here! Good live music on Sundays. The staff are helpful with finding a table. Just a suggestion to the community, order before taking a table when it's busy. Walking in and grabbing a table for yourself before ordering is bad manners. So this is most definitely my new favorite place, and that's partly because its the only real coffee house in Doral that combines quality without compromising its style. This place bubbles over with cute and cool and that's pretty awesome to find! I've been four times in three days and I'm scared of how frequent and intense this relationship is becoming. This can potentially ruin my finances and quite possibly my waistline but I'm absolutely loving everything I've tried this past week and right now am ignoring the danger associated with this love interest of mine. Service is super friendly and menu although small can vary if you choose the daily special which changes everyday. The special tends to be on the healthier side which is great however I continue ruining it with a delicious high calorie coffee drink. I had the carribean cold brew...such a weakness! and today I tried the mocha milkshake...a new weakness! Came in for a quick run of coffee and it's packed so coffee must be good. We ordered the Colombian French pressed coffee and a vanilla iced latte. The ice latte was so much better than the ones I get from Starbucks. Staffs were friendly and accommodating. read more

Someone recommended this place to me and I am so glad they did. This little hidden gem was actually in the same shopping plaza as my hair salon and I never even noticed it!! What!!!! Why???!!!! Went here for lunch with a coworker and the food was exceptional, I had the Margherita pizza and it was amazing! Decor is super cute, has got character. Surprisingly, Doral is full of hidden gems, and this is one of them. No hipster pretentiousness here, just good smooth coffee served any style you'd like. As the name implies, the beans are fresh roasted on site and is sold by the cup or by the bag if you'd rather make your brew at home. Beyond their coffee offerings they also have a full food menu which is also really good but I mostly come for the coffee and the great service. Doesn't really look like a coffee shop from the outside, but once you walk in it's a totally different vibe. The shop has a lot of cultural vibes with bright colors and rustic decor. The tables look as if though they're imported from south america, which i loved. The menu has so many different options. From breakfast, salads, pizza and more. The coffee menu is also pretty unique. They offer many different selections, and yes everything was delicious. The staff is also very helpful and friend. Found this place as it had good reviews and was on the way to my destination so I stopped by to grab a cup of coffee on a hot weekday. I got the caramel frappe and it was really good! Normally frappes at coffee shops are really sweet and I forgot to ask them to make it less sweet when I ordered. When I got my drink, it was the perfect amount of sweetness! Very refreshing and a great pick me up on a hot florida day. Service could be a bit better though. I walked in and was greeted by an employee who was walking by and she was probably the only employee that smiled/acknowledged me. Very trendy, cozy relaxed coffee (and much more) cafe! I will start off saying by saying the coffee is amazing and deliciously tasty, that's #1. Service is great,and very friendly, but the food and baked goods are out of this world. The empanades are all freshly made and baked, I tried a beef and a chicken fajita, both were outstanding and very high quality ingredients is used to make them, so delicious!!! My husband had the pan de bono and also equally delightful. we also shared a corn flan, which was a light and very moist rich piece of cornbread. Came over for a late breakfast/brunch. They have about 6 items on their breakfast menu along with coffees and pastries. My sister and I split a Fabio's Favorite and an Acai bowl. Each were $9. Fabio's Favorite was delicious and well worth the $9. The acai bowl was confusing. We asked for granola without nuts and the bowl came out with scoops of acai ice cream with sliced strawberries and kiwi. I was confused as to why the acai wasn't in smoothie form and also was wondering where the granola, coconut, and chia seeds were. When I went up to the counter to inquire, the gentleman informed me that their acai bowl comes in ice cream form rather than smoothie and that he'll bring me the toppings. Once I topped it with everything, it tasted pretty yummy. But $9 for scoops of acai ice cream and sliced fruit is silly. My sister then got a frozen caramel macchiato with coconut milk and my mom got a cappuccino. I tried the caramel macchiato and it was absolutely delicious. Next time, I'll probably just get the frozen macchiato and the Fabio's Favorite. That combo is perfect. The counter staff was very dry and complicated to communicate to, especially about the nuts situation. Since we asked for no nuts we got skimped out of coconut, chia seeds, and granola. The decor was interesting. It was a mod podge industrial type and the lighting wasn't the most romantic nor were the seats very comfortable at all. On two occasions I was down in Doral for events and went up early to avoid traffic. Made a day of it and posted up here to get some work done. Good iced lattes. This place has deteriorated and has a increased their prices. I had a soup that was pure salt. My husband ordered the Mediterranean bowl with chicken and they didn't add the chicken. In ordered a steak sandwich. All if these dishes were not very tasty and expensive. The bowl has no Sauce and it is lettuce with a little scoop of hummus and lots of tasteless quinoa.
