Loved the food, tipped well, had a nice time. Then I got the receipt. There's a "tourist tax" on there that I never saw mentioned anywhere. Not on the menu, not at the table, not when I ordered. Just quietly sitting on the receipt after I'd already paid and already tipped and keep in mind, I also ordered food to go on top of everything else. So I was already spending good money here. Then I look at the receipt properly, and there it is. And look , it's not about the money. I can afford it. It just feels gross to find out you've been charged something extra that was never mentioned, after the fact, when there's nothing you can do about it. That's not an accident. That's how it's designed. If you're proud of the fee, put it on the menu. Simple as that. The fact that it only shows up at the very end, after you've eaten and tipped and ordered takeout and let your guard down that says a lot about why it's not shown earlier. Good food though. Genuinely. Just know going in that the price you see isn't the price you'll pay.

This morning, I met my Son By Law for a late breakfast early lunch catch up. This place is very well set up and luckily we were there after the morning rush and before lunch. The food that we had was fresh and delicious. The young lady that took our order. Francielis was very nice. There was another young lady that brought us our order, she also facilitated and brought us condiments. We had a wonderful experience as it relates to the establishment, we certainly recommend it if you're in the area.

I have been to Macondo a few times now. I really enjoy the ambiance and the food is good. Today was no different, food was delicious, the atmosphere is laid back and the decor is so cozy!! What was different this time was the service. Initially, the girl who took our order was sweet and she put all our orders on the same numbers which was great since we all ordered separately. We had a wonderful meal and then as we finished, a waitress came and told us to leave so that others could sit. While we had been there a while , I think it was rude to ask us to leave. This isn't a place where tables have servers and us staying takes away tip from a server . If the goal is to set a welcoming atmosphere, this is not the way. Not sure I want to go back after that!

I love how the decorations make me feel like I am in Colombia! The staff were friendly and welcoming! The coffee I ordered was great. I started with the moccacino. I had never tried this before and I loved it. We also had the corn casserole. My boyfriend had wanted the berry blues iced latte but they didn't have. So he ordered the pumpkin spice iced latte and he was not a fan of the taste. It did not have any sort of pumpkin spice flavor to it. It was pretty busy for a Sunday morning. I wish they would open a location in Broward so I can come more often!

So bummed I discovered this spot on the last day of our trip. As I was leaving my hotel, I asked the concierge what the best local bakery/cafe. He initially said somewhere that sounded like a chain restaurant then he remembered Macondo. We stopped in Monday late morning for and Iced Matcha and Empanadas. We asked the Emmanuel which were his favorites and he said Ham & Cheese, so we got one of those and a Beef. My drink was solid, I got it with almond milk. Perfect creamy and earthy balance. Kinda wish I got a larger size. Luckily I bit into the empanadas while parked outside. We got a Chicken on by mistake, so I limped back in. The cashier apologized and got the correct one fired up. I offered to pay since but she declined since it was their mistake. Talk about good customer service and tasty error. It was packed with what looked liked regulars and tourists. I shared it with my friend who lives in Miami. Bookmarked it for when we are back!

I love the Jazz they play in here, the coffee is great! I always get the cappuccino and this time i got pumpkin spice, such a good little taste of the season !! Service is fine, you can also see how they're brewing the coffee in house. Great coffee spot :)

Perfecto. Tchauzinho

Food, ambience, and service were great...Until they weren't. We were a table of six ladies who have frequented this location. We all ordered full plates + drinks and paid more than adequate tip. The plates came at different times, which was fine and expected. All the food was delicious as usual. What was different from our past visits is that we were asked to please leave to make room for more patrons. Yes, yes, we were there a while, about an hour and a half. But this isn't a hostess seating restaurant. It's order at the counter and sit where you can and enjoy. Considering also it's a Hispanic place I was surprised.

I love this place and must visit when in Miami! Rustic vibes inside. Can be a bit busy at times but the tables are always rotating. The empanadas are always so good. The bacon egg and cheese empanada is my FAVORITE and tastes sooooo delish. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and helpful. The coffees were delish and everyone i was with enjoyed their breakfast.

Delicious little cafe in Doral. The coffee was amazing and I believe they roast it themselves. The restaurant is very nostalgic of Colombia and makes you feel like you're there. I wanted to go the traditional route so I got the campesina casserole and it was delicious! Perfect mix of eggs, maduros, and chorizo. I really enjoyed my breakfast and will definitely be back to try more things as they have a pretty extensive menu!

Came here for breakfast with my bf and daughter. We were a little confused upon walking in as you order first at the counter and then go find a seat. But we figured it out relatively quickly. My daughter had a mocha cappuccino iced and she said it was good. My boyfriend had a cappuccino and he enjoyed it. I had a regular American coffee and they give you warm creamer, so that is nice. The coffee tasted good, but it wasn't anything out of the world which I was expecting from the reviews. I had the fabio's favorite and it was quite tasty, a little dry, but really good. My daughter had an Arepa as well as an empanada and she said both were really good. My boyfriend had an oatmeal iron man , he said everything tasted great. We all shared the guava and coconut cake, which I thought was a little dry, but had a great flavor. The service was great and everyone was really nice and the place was super cute. A little pricey, but I'd recommend.

Upon arrival, it was not busy, there was one person waiting on their food, we saw that our orders on the screen, and there was only 3 orders total at the moment. However, we probably waited another 20 mins after. While we waited more people showed up, but our food was not getting done any quicker. People who ordered in person got their order first, and they came in at least 5-10 mins after we arrived. I have worked in the food industry, so I do understand that it gets busy, however when we came in time, it was announced that we were there to pick up the food. Only one employee apologized for how long it was taking. I would have thought that our food was going to be done first. The drinks were alright, we got the lemonade, and half sweet and unsweet tea. We ordered the King Club, Chicken salad Sandwich, Spicy Turkey Melt and the Max Spud. Mind you, these items were all half, so imagine waiting more than 30 mins total from the time we ordered to the time we got the food. The King club was good, the honey mustard added a nice sweetness. The Spicy Turkey melt was mid, I think it could do without the avocado. The Chicken Salad sandwich was good too, I love the little sweetness the cranberries added. The Max spud was also mid. I don't think I'm a baked potato kind of person. The vibes were like as if Panera and TooJays had a baby. Would come back for the food but service could improve.

Super cozy but still bright and stylish. We ordered the brioche chicken sandwich and... wow. I don't even like chicken (I was just planning to try a bite from my husband's), but it was out of this world. I kept going back for more -- the brioche was soft and buttery and everything together was just chef's kiss. Absolutely divine. The cappuccino was also perfectly made with a special touch -- you can tell they really care about their coffee. But the real highlight of our visit was our waitress, Alexa. She was so warm, sweet, and genuinely helpful -- the kind of person who makes you feel like you're being taken care of by a friend, not just a server. If you visit, ask for her... you'll understand We'll definitely be back!

During that time, several staff members were standing around talking and laughing among themselves while customers were left waiting. I understand places get busy, but a simple "We'll be with you shortly" would have gone a long way. Instead, there was no acknowledgment and no sense of urgency. After sitting there with no service, I ended up leaving. I hope this was just an off day, because better communication and customer attention would make a big difference.

We have eaten in Peruvian restaurants and cafes all over North America. Here, the flavors were familiar but amazingly well-executed. We had these treats: Lucuma-chocolate cheesecake -- not too sweet, either flavor/layer; this is just a smooth caramel flavor derived from the lucuma fruit plus the real chocolate layers. Lucuma milkshake -- not too sweet, just a creamy caramel-flavor profile again derived from, counterintuitively, a fruit. Arroz con leche / rice pudding -- delicious, creamy, and a little thin compared to the American counterpart (tends to be thicker consistency); this has cinnamon and a little bit of spiced orange. My wife said it reminded her of her mother's arroz con leche. Little box of alfajores -- we didn't try them yet. This place is 10/10 especially if you are a discerning Peruvian food eater.

My coworker said it was "made with love" The same can be said with the chicken sandwich, the fresh brioche bun elevated the overall. It was a great chicken salad that wasn't too sweet or heavy. The arroz con leche was made with long grain, light cinnamon and a thinner consistency, pretty solid overall. The inside ambience was very nice. Cute decor with plenty of seating.
