    Raspberry cornetto

Was rushed to order while we were clearly still looking at the menu. They were out of sandwiches and latte flavors (only vanilla, YUCK). No clean tables available. Raspberry cornetto was okay 3/5. Cute location but the customer service and cleanliness lacks.

Such a good bakery. The food menu is great and the baked items in the case are always fresh. I love coming here for a coffee and a pastry and bring friends here when they're visiting from out of town. Has good seating options too, but can get busy! The staff are always so friendly too.

Local spot that's beloved as a reprieve from the chaotic downtown coffee scene. However, the ordering process is slow and clunky. No modifications allowed, and extremely slow service on both food and beverage. For example, I order ONLY a bagel sandwich and I've been here for 15 min - still no sandwich. Additionally, parking is free- but there are only about 6 spots for customers. I'd suggest street parking and walk a block. Overall, unimpressive, and decent food. But a solid place for working all day.

We are in Seattle on vacation and stumbled across this place. The service was great and everyone was super sweet. The bakery items were amazing. The coffee was made with homemade vanilla syrup and they have vanilla sugar. Cute little coffee shop with nice outdoor seating!

Buying bread from here is definitely a luxury. I've had so many friends buy bread for me from Macrina and I've always enjoyed it. . When I went in today, the service was exceptional and the staff very friendly even though I was doing only a to go order. I thought that my purchase is important. Even though it is maybe a little bit on the pricey or side, the bread is really fucking good. Thank you so much for making my first time purchase from Macrina a special visit. I hope the ladies who helped me tonight are able to get out on time and go home to be with your families. Food service is a hard job and I appreciate you presenting yourself so well. Have a great weekend.

Solid bakery brand, and this cafe is a nice one! Tall ceilings and tall windows make the interior feel super spacious. Lots of people bustling in and out. I think their pumpkin squash loaf is to die for, with its fall-perfect aroma of warm spices. Ample parking makes this place a spot I would frequent more!

Been to Macrina Bakery a couple of times. Closest bakery to my sister's place in Capitol Hill. Even in the cold of November, it is generally a quick one to one and a half block walk to there. As my sister & brother-in-law generally tend to sleep in (as opposed to early bird me), it is sometimes easier to grab a coffee and pastry at Macrina while waiting for them to wake up. I have both sweet and savory favorites there. The orange hazelnut roll is basically an adult and mildly sweet version of a Pillsbury orange roll. The ham & cheese brioche utilizes its crispy ham to wonderfully contrast with the mildly sweet brioche bread. And the bacon & egg bialy sandwich is basically a large version of a bagel sandwich. The prices are a little high, but I only go there a few times a year. Recommend and will repeat!

I came here on a Tuesday to work remotely and it was very busy because the day was so nice. There's a lot of seating but a lot of the space was taken so we took a corner seat booth. I think the table was too short for the seating so I was hunched down. Luckily we got to move within an hour to a better spot to work. I got the savory pinwheel and a hot 8oz latte for $12 + tip. The savory pinwheel was delicious, it has sesame feeds and onion (plus other things I forgot about). The latte was equally good and hot. Service was nice and fast but I let the line go down before ordering. Remote work details - WiFi was pretty spotty, I had to go on my personal hotspot. Plenty of outlets around every table. Sit on the tables near windows if possible, the seats are more fitting to the height of the table. Bathrooms were dirty :(

It's honestly okay. They have free bathroom, free soda water, meh coffee and okay pastry. Americano is around $4 nowadays. Most importantly, it's a nice spot to rest and hangout I like it

My first time at this Macrina Bakery location and quite frankly it wasn't the best experience. Pretty disappointed! 1) Love the variety of gourmet baked goods and artisan breads they offer - Look super fresh and delicious 2) Ambiance of the cafe was bright and inviting 3) As for the service, I'd say it is below average even though the place was pretty busy. The server who took our order lacked attentiveness and didn't even bother to ask if we were dining in or taking out. 3) We ordered: Buttermilk biscuit- Soft, fluffy and delicious Grilled cheese sandwich- Soggy and Average tasting (I've had much better ones) Iced Vanilla latte- Good ; Had a nice balance of sweetness and acidity

A really nice spot with parking( much needed in capitol hill). Excellent spot to work or meet up with a friend to catch up over coffee. I like that they have half and full price lunch sandwiches and are not overpriced. They do run out of some of the sandwiches around 2 pm though. A good number of vegetarian options makes this even better. What stood out and earned that 5th star was the high quality service from every single staff member there this evening. Saw a couple of single ladies come in with a book and grab a sandwich and coffee to sit and read for a bit, some folks just meeting up for a chat or just working on laptops. Every single person was greeted politely, not rushed and the staff were chatting to each other in between and it was clear they all got along well- excellent positive vibe in this place. Nice community bench seating and a few sofas as well. Coffee was on point- go an oatmilk mocha and a slice of their chocolate orange cake. The cake was ok- seemed a day old or so. But they are known for their breads, so i would settle for my forst choice of the verdura sandwich which was unfortunately sold out. I spent about 3 hours catching up with a friend, where we were the last to leave and were cery gently nudged- but they were so unobtrusive though we clearly overstayed . Appreciate that and would be back cos of the good atmosphere, solid coffee and lots of food options.

One of our favorite bakeries! The family favorites are the Quiche - they just melt in your mouth. the goodness of eggs along with fresh veggies is mouth watering! next are their sandwiches, the verdura sandwich on their local foccassica bread and their in house foccacia bread is good! we loved their banh mi sandwiches as well.. and ofcourse, we always get their challah or bread. you can also find their challah in whole foods (if you are lucky!) lastly, nothing like a hot coffee to sip while you taste these mouthwatering dishes!

Very cute and quaint neighborhood spot. We randomly found this place doing a traveling feast on a Sunday while visiting Seattle. Very popular and saw a lot of people walking up from their homes. It was packed and with good reason. The pastry selection was amazing! You order your food and drink and hope you can locate a place to sit. This is the place where you can come and relax for the day and read a book. Customer service was top notch, considering a line was growing behind us. The clerk gave me his suggestion from two pastries I was considering, and I ended up choosing the morning bun. The morning bun was their flaky croissant baked in a muffin style tin. It had this light syrup/sugar toping that made it so good. It was very simple and delicious, which is what I like. It had the right amount of flakiness that you want in a croissant. We also had the pecan sticky bun. It was enormous in size and had a great texture. The pecans tasted fresh, and the sweetness was not overpowering. You would not be disappointed if you ordered this delectable pastry. Highly recommend trying this place. It's off the beaten trail and worth it if you're exploring areas outside of the typical touristy Seattle!

On this visit ordered the "go to" , blueberry ginger scone, ratatouille sandwich, turkey havarti sandwich, banana bread, and some Americanos to go. The croissant was on the crispier side, especially with the almond crumble on top it was a bit too cripsy for me, but I tend to like soft and flakey pastries so it's probably a matter of taste. There was a TON of almond filling in the middle. I enjoyed the taste and texture but it was too much filling for me personally. I would have liked more croissant in my croissant, so to say haha. The chocolate was slightly dark which worked well with the sweet pastry and filling! Overall I enjoyed the croissant but it was a tad too heavy on the filling and cripsy/crunchy for me.

They have so many yummy options, but I settled on a mushroom and Gruyère pastry and an earl grey blueberry cruffin. The mushroom and Gruyère pastry was SO good!!! Buttery flaky layers of dough with a strong earthy mushroom flavor and savory cheese - an absolute umami bomb. We ate it the day after and threw it in the air fryer for a couple of minutes, and it was so delicious. The cruffin was huge! Topped with a delicious light Earl grey cream that wasn't too sweet. It was filled with a blueberry cream and was definitely very filling. There's a lot of sugar coating it, as is standard with cruffins, but it's a nice sweet treat. Through several visits: Baguette, Large ($7.95) - Great baguette with bubbling golden exterior complete with the perfectly baked crust even after waiting 3 hours before cutting in and eating. The interior has the perfect moisture level and is delightfully soft and chewy. The taste overall has a deep developed flavor. This is a great baguette. The only problem - the price. I can find ones for half the price that are maybe 80% as good as this one. (5/5) Seasonal Biscuit ($4.50) - This biscuit definitely isn't Southern-style. It's more of a drop biscuit, combining a relatively soft and tender interior with a nice exterior crust, without any flakiness or layering. The interior is almost cake-like in texture and crumb, and is plenty moist. They add plenty of fresh black pepper inside. It's distributed very evenly, giving a peppery bite with every mouthful. Parmesan is added to the top of the biscuit before baking, giving plenty of umami and richness but only on the upper layer. (4/5) Green Vinaigrette Cafeteria Style Pizza ($6.25) - The pizza is kept under a warming lamp, so it starts getting a little dried out after I assume a couple of hours spent there. I do love the base though - it's focaccia-like giving a really crunchy dark golden brown crust underneath, which supports the toppings. The pizza slice has lots of structural integrity and doesn't flop over. There's a base of fragrant concentrated tomato paste-like flavor which is topped with a very even layer of cheese. Since it's warmed rather than freshly baked, the cheese starts congealing a bit. The cheese is peppered with parsley, garlic, and a bunch of mustard seeds, giving a special zing. The toppings go all the way to the sides of the pie, making it great for people who dislike crust. Even though it's cafeteria style pizza that's kept under heat lamps, I quite liked it. I wonder if I can get a really fresh slice if I get there right at 11AM when lunch starts. (5/5) Chocolate Croissant ($6.10) - Great lamination with a very aesthetic honeycomb pattern. Baked on the harder side, causing fantastic crispy flaky layers to flake off, but also creating a darker golden brown character that is on the verge of bitterness. Nicely buttery soft and chewy interior. Chocolate is a darker variety, probably somewhere around 70%, so it has a pleasing balanced sweetness and chocolate flavor. It's not typical baton, instead seems to be a section from a bar. Still warm and melty even through I didn't eat the croissant until ~30 minutes after purchasing. When cooled down further, some red fruity notes start appearing, so this seems to be be pretty high quality. (5/5) White Sourdough ($12.60) - Now this is a loaf of bread. Superb crust, probably 2 or 3 times as thick compared to competitors, creating a supreme crusty bite with a chew approaching a hard crunch with almost caramelized molasses notes on the bottom. The interior is moist and tender with a pleasing slight sourdough tang. It's a superb piece of craftsmanship. (5/5) Kouign Amann ($5.80) - This is another heavier bake with some acridity development on the top surface. Unlike many other bakeries where the kouign amann is basically a differently shaped croissant with sugar glaze, Sea Wolf's version feels more in line with tradition. The crumb is denser and richer, more like brioche. There's interesting black speckling inside which I believe is due to the inclusion of espresso powder given the mild coffee-like flavor. The crust is again baked hard, but it's lighter and not as flaky as the croissant. They sprinkle just a bit of salt on top of a very light caramelized sugar glaze. It's not very sweet and I didn't find it too salty unlike some other reviewers. (5/5) Plain Focaccia Slice ($4.80) - Good quality olive oil, some salt sprinkled on top to boost the flavors. Light and airy interior, but the exterior is a little wan, being more light golden brown and lacking some good crusty crisp especially on the fried bottom. Quite oily. (4/5) Sea Wolf gives out free sourdough starter, which can be requested from the cashier. Since picking it up several weeks ago, I've gone through several feed/bake cycles for making sourdough focaccia. I've visited Sea Wolf 3 or 4 times in the last month. That's a testament to how high quality their pastries and breads are. I think the only thing stopping me from visiting more is thanks to the starter I got from them fanning my baking instincts. I bake so much now that I don't have any need to buy their bread! Note: Sea Wolf charges a 3% credit card fee. This is not noted on their menu - it only appears in the POS right before paying. Kind of sketchy. Bathrooms - Single unisex room

I will note that I haven't tried the breads, but as a non-morning individual, I do appreciate that they do tend to still have many items available even later in the afternoon (~1-3PM time frame). You will have to find street parking, but I've never had too much trouble in this neighborhood even on the weekend. Butter Croissant (3.75/5): I'll admit I'm insanely picky with my croissants and I think Sea Wolf's is just okay. I want a stronger crisp on the outside, something that almost shatters and makes a mess when you bite in, but the inside has a nice chew. Kouign Amann (3.75/5): I had a really fantastic time with this my first time picking it up, they have almost a crunchy sugar caramel crust on the outside with super buttery pastry inside. Unfortunately, my second time picking this up ended up being a miss, just stale and much to dry. Cinnamon Roll (1/5): The raisins are a nice touch, but this was awfully dry. Even the caramelized crus on the outside couldn't save this and charging extra for cream cheese frosting on top of a dry dough is criminal.
