There is nothing good about having your car damaged in an accident. The only good thing was, I didn't have to think about where to bring the car. I already knew, because of what happened to my son. He'd been in his own accident, a year before mine, and I was in New York City when it happened, too far away to do anything but worry. Richard Porcelli did what I couldn't. He sent a tow truck. He took my son under his wing the way a parent would, calmed him down, sat with him through one of the worst days of his life. I wasn't there for that. Richard was. I don't forget things like that, and I wasn't about to take my own car anywhere else. Porcelli's has been on Providence Street in West Warwick for more than forty years, and there's a difference between a business that's been doing something a long time and one that's just been open a long time. Those aren't the same thing. You can feel which one you're standing in. My insurance adjuster, a man I'd never met before this, told me flat out that his company likes working with Porcelli's. Honest, he said. Good work. Integrity. That's not a word insurance adjusters throw around freely about anyone. I ended up not at fault, so no deductible, and Porcelli's set me up with a rental. Given how the insurance company usually handles that part, I was bracing for whatever the cheapest available option was. Instead I drove off in a 2024 Jeep Compass. I was pleasantly surprised, though knowing Porcelli's by then, I probably shouldn't have been. The adjuster told me not to expect the car back before August 28th. I got the call today, August 6th, that it's done. It still needs an inspection, and instead of telling me to bring it back separately for that, they told me they'd put it up right away so it would already be finished by the time I came to get it. Nobody asked for that. It just happened, the same way it happened for my son, which is really the whole point. Porcelli's doesn't perform well once. It performs the same way every time. It's not an exaggeration to say that Porcelli's will treat you like family. If you ever find yourself needing them, and I hope you don't, you'll understand exactly why I told you to come here.

Several times I had the dealer hand me a $2000+ list of things I needed to do only to find out a third were not needed and the rest were double the price. As I wait for my car during services I constantly see panicked walk-ins that are taken last minute or hear calls that they agree to take same or next day. The only problem I have ever had in the past was they were always so busy it would be hard to get them on the phone. The employees were handling phones and the car work. They have since hired an amazing person in the office that is a pleasure to talk to and makes using Barrington Auto even better.
