Food was good, service was quick and flavorful and I would recommend , the Portuguese items were authentic.

I've been coming to this place almost yearly, and I wish they were closer. It's a little hole in the wall on an acute street corner. Service is oddly prompt (not a bad thing, but you wonder how they do it with minimal staff and a full house). The food comes out quick, and you can tell how fresh the seafood is. There's just something about this place that keeps people coming back, whether you're a local uncorking your bottle of wine, or just a regular tourist like me. read more

We rented a place on the Bay a couple of miles south of Mac's. After driving by a couple of times we decided to stop for lunch. We were very happy with the food and the friendly service. We went back another day with the same results. We would definitely stop again for another visit. read more

Went to maxs today for lunch. I've driven by it so many times and never been previous. It's a small place with a small lot. The waitress was nice and the food was good. I'd say a little overpriced for the portion size but the food wait wasn't long which is a plus. The one negative was my wife and I ordered coffee with our lunch and the it was like warm borderline starting to get cold. Got a second cup and it was the same. We love out coffee hot so it was disappointing. I'm sure my coffee drinkers out there can relate when you're craving a hot coffee and it's not good it's very disappointing. read more

This is a sparkly little gem tucked away on Sconicut Neck Road . I have frequented this place since I was child. Over the last decade it changed ownership and the quality of food is amazing for the price. Where else can you get Cordon Bleu with beverage and dessert for $7.95??? That's just one off the Thursday night specials. lobster rolls are another bargain with a quahog or chowder all for $11.50. There is an extensive menu for such a small restaurant. Ordered take out seafood tonight. I absolutely will not return. I waited a half an hour beyond the time I was quoted. The order was filled in dribs and drabs. Part of my order sitting on the counter for 15 minutes. I live a block or two away from the restaurant. $35 for 2 orders that were cold! So putting fried clams and scallops in the microwave is just wretched! On a Friday evening there were very few people in the restaurant. That speaks volumes. No thanks! I'm done. Blah! read more

My husband and I frequent this place often. I have had lunch, breakfast and holiday dinners. I mean, where else could you order lunch at 7am?? Jevon (the chef) is amazing at what he does! Lisa (his wife) is great and personable, as well as Brittany and Jill! One of my favorite spots to eat!! They are accommodating to what is and is not on the menu. If you want something and they have the ingredients, Jevon has no problems fixing it up for you. Worth a stop in for anyone! My girlfriend and I stopped over here on my last day in the Fairhaven area. She had explained of a time when she came to Mac's on Sunday's with her father and I was excited as I came to have one final taste of Little Portugal before heading back to bleak campus food in Cambridge. The interior is homely, very welcoming apart from the small room she was in and the modern-dull interior of a college dorm. It felt very warm and welcoming as the staff instructed us where to sit. We got drinks, my girlfriend going for the Rhode Island staple of coffee milk and myself going for a fresh squeezed glass of orange juice- a staple from my home state of Florida. Don't be fooled- this orange juice was incredible. Fresh squeezed reminding me of the taste only Osceola County could with the vast troves of orange orchards. The sight of warm hearts of locals filling in for a good cup of joe and a warm meal made this atmosphere very comforting. As me and my girlfriend talked about an upcoming trip to Florida, our food came out. She had ordered Breezy's Egg White Omelette, a slim take on a breakfast classic stuffed with chicken, spinach, cheese, and topped with homemade salsa. This plate came with a side of toast, and home fries. The omelette was delicious. The egg was cooked perfectly and the accompaniment of spinach and chicken serenaded by the cheese was amazing. Definitely a must have when I go back. I grabbed a south floridian's favorite food pocket- the burrito. Except, this was the breakfast interpretation of such a meal, stuffed with peppers, onions, egg, steak, tomatoes, and with a comforting amount of melted cheese. The plate came with the aforementioned home fries and a cup of salsa that I complimented evenly with the burrito. It was amazing, probably the best breakfast burrito I've ever had, a must have for anybody looking for a quick meal. The time spent waiting was quick enough but leaving enough time for a conversation over a drink. Service was friendly and will not let you down. Overall an amazing experience, a well deserved five out of five stars. read more

The hot buttered blueberry muffins and blueberry pancakes are a must! Our favorite breakfast spot for sure, but don't stop there! They serve delicious meals until 8pm. Mac's Soda Bar is one of my favorite places to go to for breakfast or lunch. Truthfully,I wish it was a bit bigger because the last three times I've suggested it my mom immediately points out how crowded the parkinglot is but I understand why. The food is awesome! Last time we went I got the hockey homefries and when I said,"I want sausage." the waitress said,"I love it with bacon." and I'm so glad I switched to that! They were so good! Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. The cheese,the peppers and the bacon was perfectly cooked. Just a great,little diner that makes great food. Their Smokey Mountain chicken sandwich is one of my favorite lunches. Their fries are awesome too. Going to try to get in there,maybe Monday,to get the homefries. Fingers crossed! read more

Haven't been here in over a year but this is not the same restaurant as the last time I was here. The service was horrible and the pan seared scrod ( which I have had many times) had so much garlic that it was not edible. Sides were cold. It will be a long time before returning! read more

This is a hole in the wall type of place. Prices are very reasonable and good selection of blackboard specials. I have had mostly breakfast and it has been very good. Service is fine seems mostly family workers. Place needs just some simple updating, fix the front door, it doesn't latch. Cold air flows in making the dining area cold and costing them extra money to heat. This place is a gem, just needs a little attention. Coffee isn't the best ..
