My complaint is re the new pharmacist at the Sonora MACT Pharmacy. I had been getting my meds from…read morethat pharmacy for many years and had been very pleased with the staff and level of service. Enter the new pharmacist last spring and that all changed. First, the wonderful staff who had been there for years fled when this new guy was hired. Why did they all leave? There has been a continual turnover in staff since he was hired. What is going on there that is causing this massive turnover in staff? I've had six surgical procedures on my spine over the years that has left me having to endure significant constant pain. My pain level is somewhat mitigated thru the use of medications. When I went to pick up my meds the pharmacist rolled his eyes and made an insulting derogatory comment regarding my medication usage. No one should have to be subjected to that kind of smug, judgmental, verbally abusive and insensitive treatment. It was evident that this pharmacist has some sort of disorder where he feels it's acceptable to insult the customers. I immediately switched to another pharmacy. Hopefully other customers have not had to endure this sort of insulting behavior from that guy. He is a stain on the entire MACT Healthcare Board. There is a chronic shortage of licensed pharmacists in this state, so I'm sure the MACT superiors will overlook a lot of abusive behavior before they do anything to rectify the matter.

Having had a host of vision problems since birth, I have been to just about every eye specialist in…read morethe world. Dr. Iwata was the first OD EVER to fully explain the situation and to offer me a range of options. I wear contact lenses and when I expressed an interest in getting glasses as a backup, he asked me what time of day I would likely be wearing them and suggested I schedule an exam for that time of day so prescription would be correct for tired eyes at that time of day. You won't get that at LensCrafters! When my pre-teen daughter turned out to be mildly nearsighted, Dr. Iwata actually suggested we NOT get glasses for a couple of years because it was his experience that girls that age would probably not wear them anyway out of vanity. He was absolutely correct and didn't try to sell us a pair of expensive glasses. HIGHLY Recommended!

I have always liked the office staff--they are great. But when is it appropriate to speak up when…read moreyou feel dismissed? After being told I have cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and upper eyelid drooping, I expected to be referred to an ophthalmologist. Instead, I was told it was "not bad enough yet." I wondered, how bad does it have to be? The doctor said, "Don't worry, haha, I won't let you go blind." That did not feel appropriate or reassuring to hear as a patient. I expected my concerns to matter and hoped for some compassion, such as an offer to refer me for a second opinion. Instead, I had to call my endocrinologist to get the referral myself. I have been struggling with my vision for a while. I cannot see up close without glasses, my vision is cloudy and fuzzy, and I am unable to drive at night. When I saw the ophthalmologist, he said these issues had been developing for some time. I told him I had only been diagnosed in 2022, and he said the condition appeared to have been present for about 10 years and was serious. I called the doctor's office, left a message with this information, and when they called back, they said the new doctor could be my family doctor going forward. It felt as though, because I raised my concerns, they no longer wanted to see my family. That was not what I was looking for. I was simply hoping for a little compassion from the doctor.

The girl that took my call was super sweet and worked with my schedule to get me in within a couple of weeks. My interaction with the front desk staff was equally as pleasant..they had me fill out my paperwork and I was taken back a short time after. The tech that did my first few tests was really nice. She took care of the first few things and took me to the room to wait for the doctor. I saw Dr.VanBuskirk...he was awesome! He was professional, answered all my questions, took his time, didn't seemed rushed at all. I really liked that, a lot of times you go to a dr appointment and feel like they are on a time restraint, I didn't get that impression at all with Dr.Van Buskirk. He explained everything he was doing and what everything meant. I was impressed. After my exam, I met with another tech who helped me choose frames for my glasses. She went over other options available to me but I never once felt pressured. I chose my favorite and she put the order in for me. They called me today ( a week and a half later) to pick up my glasses and my experience was just as easy and pleasant. I was in and out in 5 minutes. I love my glasses and I love my new eyecare office! I highly recommend....five stars!

She responded, 'Would you like to come earlier?" How does that help? I guess if you're #1 or #2, they start on time. What happened to 'I'm sorry for the inconvenience. . .etc.' Last appt, was for 10:00. I was taken into the exam room at 11:30 am. When done, I needed to order glasses for night driving. This started at around 12:45. Didn't take long. I was asked to pay in full before I left. I shared I pay with cash and did not have enough on me. One staff member had the gall to say 'You mean you don't have a credit card?' Pretty rude. They advised they were 'closed' (1pm). 'Gave' me 10 minutes to go to my bank, get cash, return and make full payment. No receipt since they were 'closed'. Strike One Now - a month has passed and I don't have the glasses. Last week when I called for a status, I was advised the office had trouble getting the frames, but I should have the glasses this week. This week I'm advised the glasses are still 'in progress'. They can provide me no estimated date they will be ready for pick-up. Strike Two Next appt, should I keep it, I'll (1) simply arrive 45 minutes late so my wait is shortened or (2) leave after waiting 15 minutes or (3) do a combination of the 2. If they give me grief, it will be Strike Three Frustrating but respecting appt. times is a consistent problem with this office. Maybe if enough people say/do something, the practice will improve its customer service.
