This Macy's location can be a bit hit or miss. Occasionally they run really good sales that make shopping here worth it, but outside of those promotions, the regular inventory often feels overpriced for what you're getting. I've also checked out the Backstage discount section a few times, and it's usually pretty limited and already picked over, so I wouldn't rely on that area if you're specifically looking for deals. Overall, it's fine if you catch a solid sale, but I don't typically find it to be a go-to spot at full price. read more

I haven't been to a department store for a long time. I have passed through several malls over the couple years, most are dying. Yesterday, I went to this Macy's for a last minute gift shopping. I was so surprised to see the selection of items were awesome and easy to shop. It was just in and out. Nice quality stuff and prices were great. Used to be a nice place, but unfortunately it looks like they will be closing soon. Christmas decorations are up. I like shopping at Macy's always, you find some kind of discounts, offers and deals. Store is well maintained and has excellent customer service. They have a great selection of just about everything but in limited number. This one has a huge clearance section, full of stuff. Macy's is my favorite store to shop, so I came here to find some clothes for my trip back him (Miami, Florida). As always, they have great bargains and really nice clothes. My husband selected some Nike and Polo outfits. I selected a MK outfit. The store have lots of designer brands and flashy clothes. You will definitely find what you're looking fit. I went to this location for some last minute shopping. At first I couldn't find what I had in mind. I asked an employee for help. she was very helpful, and extremely knowledgeable.. she showed me where everything was, and even showed me where I could find a few good sales.. Went to purchase cologne for my boyfriend's birthday the salesperson asked me how long i needed because she was going to lunch and said that her colleague would help me and walked away. No one came to help me . I had to walk to the other side and ask for help and the lady said do you know what you want because I have allergies and I can't spray anything! Wow! I just waited at the register downstairs in the Backstage area for 5-10 minutes and nobody ever showed up to the register. I went to a register near the children section the guy turned me around and said "he can't ring me up since I have backstage items." I expressed to him I was waiting for awhile and no one was in site. He never attempted to call someone to help me. He just told me "well you have to go over there to the backstage area" so I left the store without buying anything due to the poor customer service! read more

I normally like Macy's stores but this location needs a major overhaul. The place looks a little shabby, but mostly my low rating is because of repeated examples of poor customer service. I have experienced everything from lazy/slow service to a representative who was very angry and snapped at me when I asked if they could check another store for a different size. I have been into this store three times and will never go again. I will go out of my way to visit the Perimeter Mall location instead. read more

I have been a Macy's shopper for a long time I shop at Macy's so often I am a premier shopper. Typically, when you walk in to a Macy's you see professional employees who greet you and offer help... not here. You can stand for 5 mins at a register stare at the Macy's associate while they stare back and unless you ask if you can be checked out you will just wait ( true story ). It's bad enough that this location probably has the worst selection of items of all the locations in Atlanta , but I live very close and after my third time of being ignored at every register or counter I walked up to I stopped going. Instead, I travel to the Perimeter Mall location, or Lenox which are not very far away. This location does not hold up to the standards of Macy's and while I appreciate having one close to where I live I would like to be able to shop there as well. read more

BEWARE: they will charge you exorbitant credit protection charges without you knowing when you sign up for a credit card or special events on your Macy's credit card. Those charges are equivalent to 144% interest over a year. I would say read your contract carefully, but they use other schemes to prevent you from reading over your contract and tie-ins from previous contracts. SHAME ON YOU MACY'S! If you want the service it's great, but if not its a scheme. read more

NO HOLIDAY SHINE FOR THIS STORE! This is one of the saddest Macy's I have ever visited. The lady's departments are a total miss as the selection and quality of merchandise is abysmal at best. I don't recommend shopping here at all. The one thing that I did appreciate is seeing the dresses placed together in a centralized area so that you aren't running from collection to collection to explore options. The men's department is a lot better because they not only had a great sale but they still had quality sweaters and shirts for men. There are great color options as well. I can honestly say that I say no neglected customers today and the employees were doing their best to make sure that all were being assisted. The carpeted floors were in bad shaped and needed serious attention, (vacuuming, shampooing or replacing). Dirty stores are just not conducive to shopping! Nothing about this store really said Macy's today and at this time of year, that is a shame. read more

If I could I would choose no stars. Don't ever get pickup from them, I've had bad experience with Macy's shipping & pickup. But my pickup order has been there for a week now. I've called everyone I could about my order & they all tell me the same thing, it needs to be scanned in to be ready for pick up. How is it not scanned in?!? It's been a week. I ordered my stuff 3 weeks ago & they making it extend longer because it needs to be scanned in.. now they can't find it. I'm very upset at this point because it's been so long I've waited.. DONT DO PICKUP because somebody isn't doing there job. read more

We went to buy clothes for my 17yo son the night before leaving for spring break. The selection of men's clothes was pretty good actually. I was surprised. However the ding a ling cashier left TWO electronic tag thingies on the clothes. So my husband and son left before the closed and had one taken off. Then at 10 pm I heard loud clanking in the dryer only to discover yet another electronic tag thingy was on his favorite new shirt. He's supposed to leave in the morning before Macy's opens. So now he's not gonna have his new favorite shirt on his trip. HOW HARD IS IT TO BE A CASHIER PEOPLE? You have very few things to do. Ring up the clothes, take the tags off and put them in a bag and accept some type of payment. A simple four step process. Apparently it's just too much for some people. read more

Their underwear department for mens is a live tornado. I can't count the number of times I had to drive to other Macy's just to get a pack of underwear. It's always out of stock of hard to find. I returned clothes yesterday 2-1-19 at this Macy's at Northlake location. I had the worst experience in my entire life. I waited at the register for more than 15 minutes but no one came even I notified one of the cashiers that I was waiting at the return place "at your service". I think it was Caroline (she didn't wear a name tag and didn't want me to know her name). She took a long time to deal with the other customer even though he came after me. After that, she called another customer behind me again even though I stood in line for 40 minutes and she told me she will not take me she said other cashier in there should have taken care of me, not her. Then she left (she kept going away from her register for more than 10 times the whole hour I was there to avoid the work and avoid me). She even took her time to hug a customer to make me wait. The manager came and she said this store refused to serve me and told me pack and leave and never come back because she said I disrespected her team even though she didn't know the whole story. When I was talking to her, I didn't raise my voice, but she kept saying I raised my voice to aggravate me. She has the most nasty attitude in a person I've ever met. I would give a -10 stars if there is. I have more than 4 other customers witnessed the whole thing and can back my story. I also have some videos for this situation too to back my story. This is the most RACIST and LAZY place ever. OUTRAGEOUS. I've been here in the past and other people were nice. But these two are the WORST. SHAME. Macy's at Northlake mall, Dekalb GA. One of the worst possible place to go for shopping. I went there to return a jacket and trouser and I was being accused for using the suit, although I informed I just "tried" it once. I was being harassed by the cashier whose initial greeting was why did I separated the tags from suit and trouser! Wow. I was going to that specific store for long time. But no more. Oh before I forgot, she told me if I want to wear something I should go for rent, not to buy from there... Wow! She also giving me a lesson regarding suit and separater. Huh. When I said I bought the items from two different places, she accused me may be I did not bring my trouser. I was insulted, harassed and treated harshly. Northlake Mall Macy's- This is the trashiest Macy's store I have ever seen- Walmart is cleaner and neater. Trash on floors in Men's section of dress shirts- all displays look looted thru - nothing was organized. I have seen stores in better shape during Christmas rush.
