I was first exposed to Macys when I lived in Houston. It was their go to department store chain of choice much as Dallas Sanger Harris. When Macys moved into Big D and Sanger Harris faded away, the Macys stores were excellent and I shopped them a lot. The Galleria store was the flagship and awesome. Not so much anymore. They've had big ups and downs but still do an ok job. The North Park center store is my favorite these days and still has a nice homegoods department. I bought a couple of great pillows on sale recently and I'm very happy with them. read more

4 stars for inventory variety, pricing, and shopability. I visited Macy's in a rush to find a graduation dress and shoes for my niece. We stopped by the girls' clothing section and found many options and great sale prices. The female sales representative in this department was helpful in locating a dress in a different size. However, downstairs at the ladies' shoe department some of the staff were the complete opposite. One young lady in this department was pleasant and knowledgeable. She was assisting multiple customers while her coworker was wanders around not helping. The rep at the Finish Line counter wasn't as friendly when I asked about price matching an online price. Better location than Frisco! Staff were professional and friendly, selection was actually really good. I needed a dress shirt for a wedding and there were good sales a couple weekends ago. I wasn't always a Macy's shopper because of premium prices, but backstage has also been a great thing they brought to the forefront. I'm now a real Macy's customers for the long term! As long as these patterns continue, I'm satisfied, maybe some holiday gift shopping here this autumn as well! read more

Recently I had a wonderful shopping experience at North Park Mall Macy's. I needed a gown for a special event. I met Gregory in the Dress Department. He was very friendly and helpful. I was able to find the perfect dress! I went to the shoe department and met Toric who helped me find the right shoes for my dress. Very helpful, patient , and friendly. Went to the women's fragrance department where I met Miss Crissie! Beautiful inside and out. She helped me find a wonderful fragrance that I was interested in but didn't know the name. The store is old, outdated, smells like mildew and mold. The bathrooms are always dirty and not clean. The selection is not as good as others, you can really only choose from Macys brands and not some of the nicer brands. read more

I recently went to the Macy's location at the intersection of I-635 and the North Dallas tollway to buy my girlfriend a bottle of perfume. Due to a stroke I had in 2010 I now walk with a limp. I was met at the door by a pleasant young woman who was associate and when she asked me what I was looking for I told her "Ladies Perfume" she then walked me to the Perfume area of the store and pointed out that the brand of Perfume I was looking for came in a Christmas Gift package that only costs $10.00 more than a single bottle! Of course I purchased it plus I was delighted with her personal touch by walking slowly with me and upselling me. I am giving Macy's a huge score for their excellent service and attitude towards customers! read more

Lot's of clothing in disarray.  Seemed like there were hardly any new "dressy" dresses. Every section seemed to have a rack of random clothing smashed together on clearance.  Was I just there between season change??  I couldn't find a sales associate to help me figure out the maze.  I will also note that most registers had long lines with annoyed people.  In the end, I simply left and shopped somewhere else. Also known as Manky's, because it's a bit Manky in here. Well not really. It's kinda fancy actually. At Northpark you will find another big Macy's even though it's close to willowbend and really close to the Galleria - so Macy's is obviously doing well for itself in Dallas with massive Flagship stores at all of the big malls in the area. They have a little bit of everything and are pretty busy despite their high prices and conservative politics. We like this location a little bit more than the Galleria one. We don't like parking at either location at all. Barbie's verdict is that JNL likes Macy's, so it must be cool. All moms seem to love Macy's. Their sales are good, just watch out for the mom stampede, so we call it Milfy's. read more

I had the worst experience at Macys tonight. me and my friend were prom dress shopping and a employee who was a woman came banging on our door telling us "yall need to get out of the dressing room this dressing room is closed". I responded with "okay we'll get out". Afterwards not even 5 minutes later another employee comes banging on our dressing room door "this dressing room is closed yall need to get out now." We quickly changed and left the dressing rooms. It was absolutely 100% unprofessional the way they handled this situation. Basic respect is what businesses need to teach their employees and they did not have it at all. They were completely rude, their store wasn't even closed yet, and the way they treated us was completely unacceptable. I have had good experiences with Macy's online over the years. I have been very pleased with our cookware and the industrial-strength blender in particular. The return policy for online purchases has been easy. We recently went to the physical store at NorthPark to look at sofas. In person, I think the store is attractive and I like the quality of their merchandise. We did not find a sofa that fit our needs, but that does not diminish my positive opinion of the store and the company. read more

Macy's is the arm pit of North Park Mall. Poor service, messy store with trash everywhere, and more employees giving away cologne samples than working the register. After waiting several minutes in line I reached the front. The cashier then said that they had to help the customer behind me first. I set my clothes on the counter and walked out. Spend a little more money at the other stores if you want quality merchandise and exceptional customer service. Bought a thing online. It was sent with the security tag. Macy's customer service said they would send a replacement and I will need to send the one with tag back as return. I told them ok, sounds great. 5 days later, I called again because nothing had updated on my order. Talked to customer service again, and they said I had been refunded because the item was out of stock and to send the item back. I had never asked for or agreed to a refund. So, I told them that I could not return the item because I had a wedding scheduled and could not wait for their mistakes to pile up further. I ended up talking to the supervisor, who took my credit card info to re-charge me for the item in question - which I could then take to the local Macy's to get the tag removed, which I did. The rep told me not to worry if I receive an email about returning the item. Yesterday, I received this email, which said that Macy's was about to charge me AGAIN for the item that I had already paid for twice (one of which payments was refunded). So, I called customer service AGAIN and they said that I had to return the item or they would charge me. I was hung up on, so I called them AGAIN, and they told me that they would charge me the cost plus a fee for not returning... which was all done by THEM. Then they hung up on me again and asked me for a review... So, after spending over 4 hours trying to sort out their mistakes, I just cancelled my bank card and removed all info connected to their system. To sum it up, they are horrible at anything including delivery and post-purchase services, in my experience. I would advise any consumer, if you want to be treated like a human, to go anywhere else for purchasing products. I will never shop with macy's again in my life, and will tell friends and family to bogart them as well. Rot in hell, macy's! read more

We went to Macy's in Austin, Tx, to buy a new pair of shoes for my wife. They didn't have her size in stock so they ordered it online for us. We received the shoes today and were shocked to find out that they sent us a pair of second-hand, worn shoes. The shoes were dirty and smelly and full of short hair. It is blatantly clear that it is a used item. I immediately called Macy's and were advised to return them to a Macy's store. We are two hours away from the nearest Macy's so this is a huge inconvenience for us. We expected a brand new pair of shoes, yet we received a disgusting, dirty, second-hand pair. This is the low end store in the bougie mall. Boring merchandise galore. The clearance racks are packed but the stuff is a snooze. Service is a serious hit or miss BUT the helpful ones standout! I mostly see workers who think they're fancy for working at that location walking around, talking, and acting snooty. Like eh?? Not in those clothes honey. I only come in here because I know where the bathrooms are. I've browsed a few times but I rarely ever find anything that says "buy me! I'm worth $79 even though the brand has no appeal!" Macy's policies contribute to an unsafe environment for women in your stores. A man came into the dressing room while I was trying on clothes yesterday with no one else in the dressing room area (BTW, the dressing room door did not lock!). He was mumbling things in Spanish. I have been trained in personal safety, so I shouted loudly at him. He came to my door waved his foot under the door and I shouted at him again. He then rattled the door handle. I made a lot of noise, and he ran off. The staff's response was that he did nothing wrong, as the dressing rooms are unisex, and no report was taken; no security cameras were looked at, and the security officer refused to leave his 2nd floor office to talk to me when I asked to see him. I was so shaken that I hysterically ran to my car! This had nothing to do with unisex dressing rooms... the man almost attacked me! However, the unisex dressing room policy did contribute to the unhelpfulness of employees. Something is wrong here! read more

I was looking for a new purse and the woman that helped me was very knowledgeable and patient. She offered to see if she could help me find or order anything that I wanted that I didn't see. Most importantly she knows her products. When I decided on a bag, she went all the way In the back stock to get me one that had "never been touched" that was still in the plastic. ( I wish I could remember her name, she really deserves recognition... I think Doris or Gloria... my memory is TERRIBLE). I ordered furniture on November 26,2021 on a Black Friday Sale. It was delayed numerous times due to supply chain problems. This last time, 9/27/2022 they claimed it was at the warehouse being inventoried only to send me another email saying it is not there and delayed again until 11/29/22. This will have been a year. Each delay, they ask if I want to cancel. At this point, I believe they do not want to sell it at that advertised price from last year. They refuse to let me speak to anyone about having something comparable delivered. read more

This is the best Macy's I have ever shopped in. This is also probably the largest Macy's I have been in. This store offers a huge selection of clothing, shoes, accessories and household goods. They have plenty of sales associates, several registers with no line and store itself looks new (even though it is not). read more

I had a pleasant initial purchase with this location yesterday. I came a day later to make an exchange. This was in the men's suit department. I asked the attendant, Brenden who wore a curious raccoon tail on his pants, why these pants perhaps didn't fit as well as the others considering the only difference was the color. I somehow disrespected him and received an aggressive, condescending, and rude response. I thanked him and left it at that. I grabbed the pants I wanted to try on and as I walked over the fitting room Brenden yelled across the floor, "are you going to the fitting room? It's closed. It's just me here. The other on this floor is closed too. I guess you'll just have to go downstairs by Starbucks," again with the harsh response. I completely understand being low staffed. I understand that retail workers are being mistreated and underpaid - and I'm all for change. However, this was unwarranted. I wish I didn't have to call a manager but that's what this came to. When you hear of dying retail businesses, I can imagine experiences like this being part of that. The good news is that the manager was pleased to report that a change in culture is on the way.
